Hobbies: Martial Arts, Videogames, Rock Music
Martial arts: Wide ranged, extensive background in Isshin Ryu Karate, along with Kickboxing and Tiger Kung Fu. Favors close quarter fighting. Base style is karate, using 50% upper body attacks including punches, palm strikes, finger strikes, elbows and chops, and 50% lower body including kicks with the foot, kicks with the shin, and knees. Favorite kick is the wheel kick (backward spinning back kick with the heel). When in close range usually switches to tiger form with incredible power and speed but it usually lacks range. Tiger rarely uses kicks but rather used as solid bases while the hands strike with the palm, side of the hand, back of the wrist or the finger tips. Karate has taught him some but limited amounts of grappling, as well as tiger teaching control moves as well. While most fighters are strictly physical, he can unite his mind and body for maximum effectiveness.
Strengths: able to disect and read moves, very balanced in strength, speed, technique and defense. He is also very persistant up to the point where his body gives out. He is often able to read people's intentions through body language.
Weakness: Largest weakness is his Stamina. He has several minor illnesses including Diabetes and Asthma. He will do everything he can to protect those around him, often putting him in extremely bad situations. He will fight for what he believes is right no matter the odds.
History: He is the third of 4 sons in a family of both a mother and a father. Having a 7th degree black belt as a father, the whole family has been raised in martial arts, sparking an interest in the combative and philosophical aspects of them. The father is a lieutenant in the Police force, so Tyler has a honorable sense of justice and respects authority when he thinks the person is capable and just in giving out orders. His mother ran the emergency room at a hospital, so he also has decent knowledge of medicine and first aid (enough to take care of himself for the most part).
Being raised in his hometown up until his transfer he has never stopped taking martial arts. He earned his 2nd degree black belt in Isshin Ryu Karate, and also assisted teaching it alongside his father. He excelled at tournaments rarely receiving anything other than 1st place. He grew tired of point fighting and wanted to do full contact, he then started kickboxing as well. He naturally started blowing away all competition there as well. With interest in the Chinese arts as well, his family started taking Tiger Form Kung Fu from a teacher of Air Marshals. He has kept peace in his schools through influence and the occasional fights he dominated. He was deeply respected by all those around him.
Kyukaku was expelled from his school for fighting. His highschool had a Zero-tolerance policy, meaning that no matter the reason for fighting they would be expelled. One day he had been witnessed a group of "gangbangers" beating on a typical nerd, throwing him into the lockers of the Boy's Lockeroom, causing the nerd to yelp and cry, which only pleased the gangbangers, causing them to inflict damage. When persistant attempts for the beatings to cease failed, Kyu grabbed the head of one and slammed it into the locker, causing his face to cut open on the cheap wire-framed locker. He had also ended up breaking an arm, and causing a concussion to the others. It mattered not to his school administration that it was in defene of himself and another; Kyukaku was expelled from Sycamore High School.
Conveniently he received a pamphlet from Varron Academy the next week, his mother wasting no time in enrolling him back into school. Though he loves to fight, Kyukaku will never instigate a fight, and always fights for what he feels is just.

Varron History:
Within his first few days he quickly managed to make himself enemies with the Nameless Masses. He attempted to contact Stern, but was intercepted by Aryck, one of his members. In a Q&A fight session with Aryck he was also flanked by Adam aka Pain Killer and had his arm broken by Aryck, and knocked unconcious through submission by Adam.
He met his first real friend at Varron, J.T. at a coffee shop brawl. They quickly became close friends until fate twisted them away. J.T. had joined another gang, the Hand of Fate, also making him an enemy of Kyukaku and his alliances. From there he has had several run ins with the negotiator K, usually ending up in fights.
He had applied to the gang Legion, but was denied do to his inexperience. However, seeing potential, Dain Gavyns had taken him in as an apprentice. One night Kyukaku had a more "influential" meeting with Dain. This one was full of philosophical ideas of Varron, as well as a small spar with his mentor. After a few minutes Kyukaku viewed Ein Gilsin, the leader of Genaht, walk through the doors. Dain had called Ein to give Kyu a better taste of Varron, and no one was disapointed.
Kyukaku battled Ein for a good amount of time, avoiding all strikes and dealing a good amount on gang leader as well. However, eventually Ein had gotten Kyu into a choke, and from there Kyu eventually submitted to unconciousness, the positive comments from Dain and Ein never reaching his ears.
After returning from a small time at home, Kyukaku was determined to help the school even more. He held a meeting with Leon Loire on the rooftop, a short battle, followed by a surprised political debate ending the two to develop a bond and friendship; Kyu was determined to help Leon Loire gain the captainship.
Things seemed well for a while, until he had run into the even less desirable Rydell, Trent. Kyu witnessed the man murder an innocent woman. He choked down the fear and shock and battled Trent. He eventually was stabbed through the hand before a costumed Leon came to his rescue, battling Trent away. Leon and Kyu went to Leon's favorite Jazz place and talk about many things, deepening their friendship.
Kyu also had seemingly endless encounters with Pain Killer, whether in tournaments, in school or on the street the two always ended up in an arguement or a fight. Often times both. Kyu called the younger Rydell to the cafeteria one day to question him about his sadistic brother Trent. Pain Killer had little information to give, though he gave it willingly. Yukimura ended up battling Pain Killer. As Pain Killer repeatedly smashed Yukimura's head into the floor, even after he fell unconcious, Kyukaku opted to step in, knocking Adam off following an argument of ideals between the two.
A few weeks passed and Kyu was given a frantic phone call from Dain Gavyns, who simply told him to wait outside right away. Dain came swinging by at rapid speed, picking Kyu up and on the way to the hospital. When Kyu ran in after Dain, he saw Dain slam Trent to the wall. Kyu immediately ran in to check on Lisa, Dain's comatose younger sister. He found a message carved into her arm as well as blood being drawn out of her arm. Dain threw Trent out a window, leaving all reasons for this event unknown...
Kyukaku had a few battles in the edge league, having a win against the Hand of Fate member Dean. Kyukaku requested another fight within the league, his challenge going out to his boss and leader Taiku Akimoto, formerly known as Kazuki Shinato. Kyukaku battled him as well for a good amount of time, eventually tiring due to his lower stamina and a dislocated arm. Kyu had lost the fight but gained much, much more. He had earned the respect of Taiku for holding his own against him. Kyukaku was promoted to a full Legion member, as well as awarded with the prize money.
Things were quiet once again. After a few easy weeks of no fighting, Kyukaku went home to his apartment at the end of the day as usual. When Kyu returned to his bedroom, his life was once again jeopardized by the Serial Killer Trent. Trent had wanted to question him once again, which quickly turned into an attempted murder. Kyu faught off Trent's armed attacks of daggers with makeshift weapons from household appliances, such as a standing lamp, china plates, and a frying pan. After several cuts and gashes, Kyukaku had managed to knock Trent into the glass sliding door, knocking him unconcious. Unfortunately, Kyukaku sooned succumbed to blood lost, Trent regaining concious first. Trent held the half-concious Kyukaku hostage as once again Leon Loire had come to the rescue. Trent had escaped, but not before being given another stab wound.
Leon rushed Kyukaku to the hospital where he was put in critical condition and given several tests. Kyukaku soon awakened to a visit by Leon, Bruce and Drake.
More time had passed and Kyukaku found himself more involved in Legion activities, given a more important role. One day Kyu was given a phone call by another Legion member, and was told that Kira Karyuudo was being hung from the roof. Kyu raced up there to find Leon battling Kvist, as well as Hikari against Shuya. Eventually Shuya and Kvist escaped, Leon and Hikari pulling up the unconcious Kira. Kyu raced to chase after Kvist, destroying a locker when he was unsuccesful. An announcement was heard overhead, claiming Legion and Leon Loire were responsible for the damage to Kira and the poisoning to the cafeteria.
Kyu raced to the communications room, only to find assumed hand members walking out the room. Kyukaku saw that the machine was destroyed. Frustrated even further Kyukaku kicked the thing, before quickly calming down and realizing what he could do. He headed to the principal's office, and despite his efforts, Kyukaku was able to give off an announcement of his own, urging the students to think for themselves and figure out who the real culprit of these incidents was. The school seemed to split in their decisions, some trusting Legion, others with the Hand.
Things were quiet for a while. Sadly, this was only the calm before the storm.
