ooc: Hey, I was a busy man back then, even busier now, but just got more time to waste ^^ Also, sorry Kyu, but I was stumped for what else to say to you right now ^^;;;
ic:
Smiling as Tyler took his seat beside him, he gave a nod to the young man as a glass was set in front of him...At the moment, he had little to say until things with Adam had been cleared up, but even if not today, he had a lot of catching up to do with the former Legion soldier...He had a lot of catching up to do with a lot of people. Taking another sip of his glass, he considered perhaps leaving a cell-phone number with Tyler so that he and the others could get in touch.
Unlike Adam, Taiku had a remarkable tolerance for alcohol...A side-effect from having been in the nightclub business and having to attend the functions he had in the past for licencing boards and other such crap that had no real purpose, but in order to maintain a good presence for the public he needed to stay around them. His secret to getting through them? Get blind drunk and pay no attention to any of the pompous fucks who talked about how their gentlemans club could always use another member. Needless to say, with the aforementioned method, it inevitably created within Taiku a powerful resistance to the effects of alcohol, and he could admit that as a result he sometimes didn't consider that others were not quite as hardy to liquor as he was....
However, whether it was the rum that began to loosen Adams tongue or simply an acknowledgement that he didn't really have much choice in the matter, he was graced with an answer far quicker than he might have expected. Initially it sounded like every other saps story who walked through the doors and preached about fighting for someone else, the same bullshit reason he'd heard a hundred times over, but his suspicion from before still stood. There was something in the kids ferocity that spoke volumes more than he ever would, something in every punch that had that little bit more of an edge to it than a generic fighter might.
It was when the mention of his sister arose that a few of the initial foundations began to lay themselves in Taikus mind, the bricks suddenly coming at him quick and unrelentingly as connections were made and broken in instants in his mind. He knew a little about Adam, at least, he knew about his brother Trent, the disgusting little rat that was as bad, if not worse, than Kvist...
It took only the thought of that persons name to unconciously clench his fists, and he was immediately aware of the conversation again...He loathed Kvist horribly, with a hatred so brutal he knew it would take nothing more than a chance encounter for him to become a killer once more. For all the things he had done, he'd killed in revenge in the past, he'd killed for money, hell, he'd killed a man to protect a complete stranger despite it being a complete accident, but he would relish every second of spilling Kvists blood for what he had done to Kira...
Sighing quietly, he shrugged his shoulders almost involuntarily at Adam as he nodded, his response halted at the last sentence, tacked on at the end in a much quieter tone....
'So it IS Trent that did this...I suppose I shouldn't be all that shocked, but still...'
"So, instead of preparing yourself physically, you decide to go hunting down the former elites of Varron..."
His muttered words were perhaps colder than might be expected, but as he tipped back the last of his glass, setting it down in the bar-top and whistling quietly to the waitress who had served the two drinks before with a light nudge of his glass, he sighed quietly...In the moments between her arriving and refilling his glass, offering the same to Adam (regardless of his choice) and leaving to return to cleaning some equipment at the other side of the bar, he took a slow, calm breath and shifted a little on his stool, leaning a little more forward and cradling the rim of the glass between his fingertips, the light rocking motion of his hands swirling the liquid inside it...
"For whatever it's worth, I'm sorry to hear about your sister. On top of that, I'm sorry for your ankle....However, it would seem you and I share a common goal here. Whilst you want Trent, I want one of his little chums, Kvist. I wouldn't suppose there's any chance a, how did you put it...? Oh yeah, 'a legend who's grown soft with all his money', could offer his hand into the frey?"
Smirking very lightly, he turned his head and faced Adam a little more solidly than he had been before, waiting patiently for him to give his own response...

Kyukaku listened to Taiku's question to Adam as a glass had been set in front of the student. Kyu picked it up and examined it, staring it down as if it could explode at any moment. Kyu brought the glass in his hand just under his nose, taking a whiff of it. He blinked as his eyes rolled around his head. If the others had bothered to look at him he would look as if he was having a seizure or another small spasm. Luckily, they had been too focused on eachother and the issues at hand. Bringing the glass to his lips, Kyu finally took a sip before making a sour face and setting it back down. He wasn't much for drinking alcohol. The way he saw it, if you had to develop a taste to begin with, it wasn't worth drinking.
By the time Kyukaku's trial and error had been accomplished, Adam had begun to answer the question delivered to him. Kyu's eyes narrowed and became much more focused on what the larger student had told them. Mya had been taken by Trent.
One evening back in Varron, Kyukaku had ran into Adam and his sister at a nearby restaurant. Due to Mya's constant urgings, he had joined them for the evening. During Adam's bathroom break Kyu had gotten alot of insight into Adam's life and personality. Mya was one of the sweetest girls Kyukaku had ever met, and it was probably for that same reason Adam had reacted violently when she had danced with him that evening. At the end of the night Kyu promised her he would watch over Adam.
But they all had failed to watch over her.
"Trent." Kyukaku half-laughed, half-sighed. "That brother of yours is a bastard." He turned his gaze to Adam, narrowing in on his eyes as his lips tightened up.
"I want Mya to be safe too Adam, but this needs to be asked. If she was taken by Trent, how do you know she's still alive? After what that sick incesting psycopath did last time, things don't look up."

With another sip, Pain Killer nearly finished his drink, nodding to the offered refill. He'd already explained himself, and by the response Taiku gave at first, there was nothing to add. Besides, the buzz was beginning to dull the pain, and there was no reason to feel pain if he didn't have to, despite his well known tolerance. However, when Taiku continued, Adam couldn't help but feel confused. He'd expected a variety of outcomes, mocking laughter being the main theme in all, but an offer of assistance was nearly opposite to everything he'd imagined. While his head remained tilted downwards, facing his drink, Adam's eyes peered out from underneath his hair, searching the older man's face for any hint of deception, and feeling uncomfortable when he found none.
Adam sat in silence, not quite sure what to say, before being thankfully interrupted by Kyukaku's comments. Whatever relief he felt, however, quickly disappeared as he listened to the last of Tyler's words, causing him to clench his glass tightly in his hand, his broken ankle the only thing keeping him from standing up and smacking the kid.
"She's alive, because I won't accept anything less. For every drop of her blood spilled, someone will pay with a gallon of their own."
He could feel himself become more and more unstable, and willed himself to calm down. Mya was the single most important person in his life, as Adam had never truly had any relationships, romantic or friendly, before, not unless you counted a crush and people he tolerated. Pain Killer himself, however, did not. His eyes travelled back to his glass, no longer content with looking at those he was speaking to, his grip loosening on the drink before it was ruined in some way. After a few moments of quiet decison-making, Adam finally saw fit to speak.
"I don't play well with others, Kazuki. Not with the 'good guys' anyway. While I appreciate the offer, having more people involved only complicates things. While you're definately good, I don't know if you could make up for myself, as I'd probably make a mistake or two, and I can't take that risk with Mya on the line. I need someone smart, someone strong. Someone..."
...like Stern.
Not for the first time, Adam wished his former gang leader was in San Francisco. While he didn't think he'd be able to simply ask for his help, he'd built up an odd admiration for the younger man, one that had formed from his flawless victory over the self-proclaimed Pain Killer not so long ago. While his respect for Taiku was strong, he simply didn't know the older man well enough to trust him.

Glancing at Tylers somewhat....tactless question, he blinked a moment. The question needed to be asked, he was sure, but the manner that the former Legion member fired it out surprised even him a moment. He doubted of course that any insult or offence was intended by it, but still...
Nodding quietly and offering no other response to Adams somewhat heated repose at the question, he raised the glass to linger under his nose faintly as he inhaled the strong, warming vapour with a quiet sigh...With what could be only described as a slow blink, his eyes closed for a moment before opening up once again. It was almost funny to him, considering that for all his changes he saw a reflection into his own former rage in Adam...
The tiny smirk on his lips lingering just barely, he shrugged his shoulders as he rolled his head, the bones at his neck cracking with a disconcerting series of pops and clicks before he brought his line of sight back to Adams, nodding to him.
"I understand, then. Whilst I don't appreciate being considered one of the 'good guys', I'll agree that the more people you involve directly will probably just make more of mess of this for you. All things considered, my own vendetta against Kvist probably would end up spilling out as well. Y'see Adam, whilst you think I've grown old and soft with my money, keep this in mind....My hands will indeed take a life, one final time, when I wrap them around Kvists filthy little neck. I guess that whereas Trent is the source of your loathing, Kvist is mine, and in that I wouldn't allow anyone to share my personal pleasure in dealing him the punishment I have in store..."
He halted his words before he lost himself to them, his own personal hatreds rising to the surface of his reserved and calm demeanour...Shaking his head with a much more disgruntled sigh, he tossed back a longer pull of the glass, exhaling deeply at the powerful liquor before speaking once more, his tone reduced to his usual, calm pitch...
"Regardless of such, you are welcome here. If I have information that might help you, I'm sure I'll find a way to get in contact. At the same time, I would ask only for you to return that favour. For want of sounding cliche, I hope you have luck in finding Mya...."
He spoke the final words with a severity in his tone, his intents genuine as he outstretched a hand to Adam, awaiting a returned gesture or a dismissal...Given the mans nature, he had no intent of being offended either way...

OOC: Apparently, I'm next. And talking posts are only so long when Pain Killer can't walk around IC: His gaze never left the drink in front of him, even as Adam listened to every word that Taiku spoke. The fact that he didn't look at the man, however, was evidence enough that Adam was listening, focussing on the words rather than the face that was delivering the message. When the Legion leader was finished, Pain Killer made no move to take his outstretched hand, instead, giving almost a bitter laugh before responding. "You're wrong, you know. While I'm sure you're no angel, you're certainly on that side of the fence. Just listen to yourself. Look what you're doing. Had I not figured I'd cut my losses this time and heal that much quicker, we'd still be beating the hell outta each other, and yet... here we are. Having drinks. Talking." With a fair amount of effort, Adam turned himself on the stool, bringing himself around in order to face Taiku properly. Still, he did it fairly slowly, mindful of the injury to his ankle, not eager to cause any unnecessary discomfort. "And yet, try as I might, I can't figure you out. I came here looking to crack your skull off the ground, and this is the treatment I'm given? I don't think this is the same send-off you gave the other punks from Varron looking to make a name for themselves off your reputation. And you..." Adam's gaze travelled past Taiku, looking over his shoulder at Kyukaku, making it clear who he was directing his comments to as he continued. "... I don't get you either. I've beat you up a few times, and yet... you offer to help me? What the hell is wrong with you? What's wrong with both of you? I don't understand... Why? Tell me why."

"Fair enough."
Kyukaku stated plainly, giving a small nod to the reply of Adam. He wouldn't, and couldn't bring himself to think of such a thing as a possibility and that was understandable. Kyu worried for Mya as well, but if this had been someone closer to him, someone like Audrey, then there was no telling how drastic Kyu's calm demeanor would change.
He listened as Taiku and Adam continued, looking at his glass for a minute before deciding not to test it out again. Kyu nodded twice in agreement with Adam. No matter how badass Kazuki might of been in the past, and rumors were he had actually decapitated someone slowly once which was definately badass, he wasn't as gray as he'd like to think. Taiku was a white hat whether he liked it or not, fighting the good fight and helping people along the way. Kyu was about to vocalize his agreement before Adam's gaze went past Taiku, aimed for him.
"Because not everything's about you." Kyukaku stated plainly and instantly. Unlike Taiku who might have disagreed with Adam's statement towards him, Kyu knew he was a good guy and wouldn't want it to be a farce. Kyu let that sink in for a moment before he clarified, he knew Adam wasn't the brightest in the world and therefore would try and explain it easier though not in a way that demeaned the strong fighter.
"And by you, I mean anyone as an individual. I have my own pride, but thats not what drives me, Adam. I'll offer my help to someone, even if I dislike them, simply because its the right thing to do. I know you like to see that as a wussy thing to do, but I ask you this. What's really the stronger thing to do, kicking a person while he's down.... or sucking up your own esteem and helping out someone in need? Its definately not the easy path to take in life, but hey. Since when is anything worth while easy to obtain?"

Choosing to pause in his response, he was immediately glad he had done so when Tyler spoke back to Adams remarks....
He was aware that whilst he maintained the element of appearing neutral in the conflicts as of late, he would always be considered one of the 'good guys' by people like Adam....Whilst in one respect he didn't grudge the remark, at the same time he was a touch irritated. Had his hand simply not have been taken, he would not have cared. But to have it virtually laughed off made the hairs at the back of his neck bristle enough for him to have to mentally restrain himself from striking the young man once more...
'Bakayarou...'
When the two had finished their own brief interchange, Taikus words took precedent in the gap he found for himself to speak..
"No. You're right. This isn't the sendoff I gave them, but I give respect where it's due. None of the other timewasters who wanted to try their luck either impressed me as a fighter or had a real reason to take a pop at me besides wanting to get a bigger pair for themself by reputation. You came here and fought well, and despite your own bullshit you have a higher reason for all of this. Don't get me wrong, Rydell. If your ankle was intact you'd likely be out my door already, but as Tyler said...."
Tipping back his glass, draining the liquor in one fell swoop and slamming the glass back down on the counter a little too hard for his own liking, he shunted it forward for a refill with his fingertips before continuing...
"....Pride isn't about beating your opponent down. Any random thug, mission or not, can beat someone until they can't get up. It's simple, just use your fists with no regard for what happens afterward. I mean, it's not your problem what happens to him after you win. On the other hand, Adam, there's outlooks that are like mine. I beat you, plain and simple. Yes, you might have a lot of energy left to carry on if it weren't for that ankle, but when it comes down to it, you might as well have been hanging from a chain to lay into until I couldn't lift my arm. Why did I show restraint? Why are you sitting here, right now, sharing a drink with me? Why didn't I finish you off properly? I mean, I could have dragged you through the back by your one good leg and had you shot, I could have had the doormen take you outside and beat you to death..."
He shook his head as the inevitable laughter gradually reached his lips, the nearly humoured sounds lingering in the air a moment or two as he picked up the refilled glass with a much more drawn out sigh, the flash of white from his teeth as a result of his mild outburst disappearing as soon as it had arrived, his words continuing once again in between short, slow sips of the liquor in the glass...He was drinking quicker than he should be, and it would only spell trouble for him at his current rate, in his current mindset...
"I'll put it like this...All men know how to throw punches, Adam. Real men know when to stop throwing them. Whether you like to admit it or not, you're fighting for someone other than yourself, and the man in me respects that. Your skill is greater than a lot of people that've taken a swing for me, and the figher in me respects that...You as a person? Shit, under normal circumstances I'd likely not give you a second glance. You're just more proof of this fucked-up system and how it doesn't work, another kid with too much muscle and not enough brains. Take a ticket and line up, I'll be fighting off guys like you for at least another few years, most fucking likely."
Glancing up from his glass, he ushered over a waitress and persuaded a cigarette from her, giving her a polite smile as she flicked one lightly to him from her packet, setting down a book of matches and a small glass ashtray in front of him...Inwardly glad he wasn't sitting too close to either of them, intent on keeping the smoke from irritating either, he lit it and took a few quick puffs, sighing deeply as the plume of smoke left his nostrils in two quick, dark streams...
"That enough of a fucking answer?"
The venom laced in his words was clear as he glanced at him, his eyes slightly narrowed as the alcohol quickly began to loosen his composure. Sipping the glass a little longer again, he set it down and folded his arms over one another, the hand with the cigarette set on top as he took another slow puff, inhaling shortly and blowing the smoke back out again a moment later. All the while, his eyes remained fixed on Adam as he waited for a reply, be it curt or not. Truth be told, he was more and more seeing reactions he himself had made in the past, motives like his, an attitude of similar nature, and it was unsettling to him to remember just what he had been like before, back when he had truly taken sides in everything....

Contrary to his usual dismissive nature, Adam listened carefully to Kyukaku's response, growing more and more discontent as Taiku picked up where the younger man had left off. In a manner of moments, they had picked apart almost everything had believed in, the worst part of it being that Adam couldn't simply scoff and ignore it, as there was no rationalizations that could explain why their words were false. When it was finally Pain Killer's turn to speak, at first he simply remained silent, silently contemplating whether to simply forget what had been spoken tonight, or to give it some actual thought. What the hell... I'll give it a shot.
"More than enough. You know... you two aren't all that bad. You're a little too much into kindness, kid, and you, Taiku, seem like you're trying to be something you aren't. But in the end... I think I could get along with you both. Maybe."
The faintest of smiles tugged at the corners of Pain Killer's mouth before quickly fading, the youngest Rydell boy forcing himself to face the bar again. He'd seen how fast Taiku had finished his drink, and in an effort to look just as strong in comparison, quickly downed the rest of his drink. Such rapid consumption of alcohol was quickly taking its toll on the self-proclaimed Pain Killer, who found himself needing to lean forward on the bar to keep from swaying. Still, such lightheadedness was making him feel strange, bringing a strange new outlook on what was going on around him.
"Heh. Taiku, you remind me of Stern. He blamed the system too. He even blamed it for making me the way I am, though that year in Varron was the first time I'd been in this system. We were going to change it though... until Varron closed down. Now I don't know. I'm surprised you didn't join up, kid. You coulda done some good..."
Adam trailed off, his head feeling entirely too heavy to support with his neck alone. Slowly, he let it sink lower, before his forehead rested against the bar, the cool surface doing wonders for the fire in his brain. Sighing, he closed his eyes, falling into the blissful state of sleep.

Where Kyukaku had left off, Taiku picked up, finishing the thought the two of them seemed to have in unison. The Adam Kyukaku had first met would of dismissed their explanations instantly, regarding them as stupid and stop trying to process the words altogether. This time however, Adam seemed to actually be contemplating. After a few moments of silence he eventually spoke up, completely taking Kyu off guard.
Adam had barely shown tolerance to him in the past, due to their differences early on that always seemed to escalate. Kyukaku narrowed his eyes as he listened to the rest of what Adam had to say, regarding Stern and the system.
Can't say I haven't thought about it, Adam....but of course I'll never tell you that. Stern was powerful, but his methods weren't my own.
Kyukaku snapped back to the now as Adam folded his arms and laid his head on the bar, drifting off into sleep. Kyu smirked, shaking his head slowly as he dropped his palms onto his thighs, creating a sharp clap as he turned to look at Taiku.
"Wow, he is drunk. Why else would he say he could get along with me?" Kyukaku smiled, glancing over at the unconcious Pain Killer with another shake of his head.
"So...how have you been?" Kyu asked, placing his right elbow on the bar top as he rested his head against his hand. "And I mean really. Don't give me the BS 'fine.'"

"Live with my kind of identity crisises, and you'll know all about trying to work out just what you are. In time, maybe next time you walk through my doors you'll sit and have a drink instead of try to pop me one...."
Watching as Adam had, in a rather bad decision, decided to try and keep up with him in tossing back his drink, Taiku could only watch as the younger man quickly dropped into a deeper state of drunkenness, clearly not quite out of it, but certainly in what he would only consider calling 'Talkative' drunkenness...He'd used such a state in the past to get information out of people when it was needed, utilising his surprising tolerance for alcohol to match them drink for drink and remain in far better control than them, able to manipulate conversations to his will.
His ramblings before he eventually dozed off on the bartop brought some attention to him, this was the second or third time he'd heard that name dropped around him, and every time it was connected to intents of breaking the system, of proving it faulty and the like. He cared little for it anymore, but secretly, inside himself, he hoped that in some aspect that this guy could do things he himself had never finished off. When the bouncers approached to escort Adam off the premises, not least because after everything that'd happened today he'd now fallen asleep, drunk in the bar, Taiku waved them off. Might as well let the kid sleep off a little of the fog before he left, he figured.
"Wow, he's drunk...."
Glancing back at Tyler, he smiled at the comment, nodding as he shifted on his stool and turned toward him slowly, shrugging at the remark...
"Who knows, I've been out of the picture long enough not to know much about what the hell's going on...This whole mess with Hircine's one thing on top of it all, everyone thinks I'm desperate to know what's going on, when I don't really give a shit. I've got people coming to my club wanting a piece of me when I'd like to be left in peace for a while..."
Leaning forward, his forehead resting against his palms with a long, deep sigh he shook his head...."No, I'm not fine, far from it. Things aren't half as bad as they were back in New York, but fucked if everything isn't trying to creep back up on me...However, I should be asking you that question. What have you been doing since that night at the club....?"

"Me...? Well, fuck. I don't even know how to answer that question." Kyukaku exhaled, bringing his left hand to his face for a rub as he pushed out a sigh.
"That night I went home. I didn't sleep of course, its hard to when people you know get killed. The next morning I find out the school's been closed down. Then what happens? Everyone gets shipped out down here. Even you decided to start back up on the opposite side of the country.
"So there I am, stuck in New York on conditions of my probation while everyone I know leaves. I don't even have school to occupy time, just work, and working out. The one person I knew broke my ribs the last time I saw him, and pressed the charges against me. It's not like I could've approached him."
Kyu paused, giving Taiku eye contact before turning his gaze back behind the bar, though not before taking a swig of the alcohol in front of him. He stuck out his tongue, making a sound to show he didn't digest it too well.
"So just a few days ago I get this call right? They say all my charges have been cleared due to newly discovered evidence. Next morning, I'm all packed up, standing at the bus stop to come down here and join the rest of you. I get met by Dain, and guess who's with him? Lisa. Lisa actually woke up, you belive it? Anyways, we do that thing where we forget what happend. We drove Lisa home, but thats a story for another time. Dain and I get her this morning and I get dropped off at Hircine High.
"After two months of almost nothing, everything just starts booming in a few hours, you know? I finally get laid, I find out my roomate is no one other than that unconcious guy I've had more fights with than anyone else I know. I slip up, mention just the beginning of your name and he rushes off to fight you, who I haven't even got to inform that I'm even around."
Kyukaku sighed again, halting his ramble before finally turning his gaze back to Taiku.
"It's like I've finally been cut a break and have a chance to put my life back together. But what you say only reinforces what I'm afraid of. What if the things that haunted me back in New York creep back up on me and destroy what I have now?"

He nodded, sighing at Tylers remark with a slow shake of his head...Things had been one big fucking mess after that night, he'd spent just long enough to get discharged from the hospital himself, speak to Kira about transporting her things across with the transfer looming over her head, then as quickly as he had arrived in Varron he disappeared. In one night, he took the few things left he owned and boxed them, left them with Rocco and Rene to take across the country and disappeared into the alleys for a couple of days.
He had needed to find a way to get the rage that had built up in him away, and the only thing he could think of was fighting. The same old thing. He went looking for gatherings were people were fighting in back alleys for chump change, scrapping against them and beating the hell into them just to kill off that beast that kept on creeping back up...In doing so, he found that instead of that hate and anger, it was worry that had crept back up on him. Clearly in some cases it had been justified, but at least Tyler had managed to get himself sorted out, sort of....At least.
"Well, that's some recap...I'm sorry that I wasn't able to do more for you when you were jailed, Tyler. I owe you for that, and if you need anything you can ask. I'd promised to help you, and like plenty of other things I didn't follow through on it. I'm glad that you and Dain sorted things out, though, but it seems like right now your biggest problem is a room-mate that's creating some real troubles for you..."
Glancing over his shoulder at the drunken, sleeping Adam, he sighed before glancing back at Tyler...
"Forget about letting it slip, it happened now or later, either way it was the same outcome. As for letting me know you're around, hey, you're here?", he chuckled quietly at the comment, smirking and resting an elbow on the bar...The two seemed to be sharing the very same troubles, but with a quiet moment to ponder his words, Taiku spoke up soon enough, "Then we fight them off, just like we should have done back in New York....Remember, we were badasses once upon a time, too. What's a little bad luck to do to guys like us?"
Grinning a moment, tipping back the glass and noting that Tyler wasn't particularly drinking his own, he sighed, rolling his eyes and smirking...."Three things, kid...What else can I get you to drink, what do you plan on doing about the limper back there...."
Tipping back the last drops in his glass before setting it down, taking a long, slow breath as he let the alcohol settle in his stomach, "...And what would you say if I mentioned that disbanding Legion was a temporary solution to a bigger plan...?"

"Nah..." Kyu said with a small smile, shaking his head softly. "I don't hold anything against you for it Taiku. You visited me, which is more than I certainly expected. Things worked out, one way or another. Though now that you mentioned it....a car would be nice." Kyu added, giving Taiku a wide grin and a friendly nudge before he continued.
"But him?" Kyu nodded towards Adam. "He isn't so bad. He's a badass, but he puts up that tough guy front 'cause he's so fucked up on the inside. Hell, I promised that sister of his I'd look after him one way or another. Guess this just makes it easier, yeah?"
Taiku glanced over his shoulder at the passed out Adam, turning back around to face Kyu.
"Well it makes you drink while I get my headaches naturally." Kyukaku responded to Taiku's mention of badluck, giving him another grin. He continued speaking, perking up Kyu's interest that showed in his eyes and he completely turned to face Taiku once again.
"I'm fine for a drink, I guess I'll just drive him home later....and you know you can't just stop talking there. What are you saying Taiku?"

The laughter that left his lips was perhaps unexpected, but what would probably be far more unexpected than that was his hand reaching into his inner coat pocket, fishing out his car keys and unfastening the required ones from his keyring, sliding them across the bar to Tyler.
"You picked the luckiest moment of your fucking life to ask that question, kiddo....I've been planning on trading in for a new model, get a new runaround, so you can have it. The Merc out back? It's yours, just give me the sunglasses out of the holder..."
He wasn't lying, nor was he exaggerating, and by no means was he buying out his friend. The car was either going to get sold off for a paltry sum, one that in all essence he really didn't need, or sit around and gather dust behind Legion until someone got ballsy and stole it, or the tyres off of it. Giving it as a gift, well, he wasn't about to give it to Kira. She was set for life with the money he'd given her back when he'd 'died', Rene and Rocco both had cars of their own, and his staff....They were good, they weren't THAT good.
He tilted up his glass on one side at the remark that bad luck was making him drink, shaking his head somewhat at it in dissent..."Surprisingly enough, this is the first time I've drank this much in a pretty long time, I've diced with that demon before and know better now...However, since you'd like me to continue..."
Waving over the barmaid, she went to pour his glass before he leaned over and reached for the bottle calmly...Her slightly embarrassed smile at the two of them before she walked off bringing a roll of the older mans eyes. Filling his glass lightly before setting down the half-empty bottle of spiced rum, he picked up his glass and took a lighter sip, letting the taste sharpen his mouth before he spoke on.
"I disbanded Legion because I didn't want people to end up getting hurt because of me, but I'm more than aware that Kvist is both alive and in San Francisco. I've already been told that this new school of yours is just a carbon copy of the old school, and on top of that this Stern...He has me worried, well, not so much worried but cautious. He apparently wants to try and fix things, but who's to say it'll not just make the problem worse? Someone besides Maverik and his Watchmen need to be around to pick up the pieces. With his....situation, to put it politely, he'll also likely be out of action a little more than usual. Legion still has a purpose, Tyler. Legion still has a reason to exist, and in a few days it'll all become that much clearer. I've been in talks with Leon about a few things, keep an eye on your mail..."
Grinning slowly at the words, he set down his glass and waited quietly for Tylers reaction....

Kyukaku's expression faded as his draw dropped, watching Taiku fish into his pocket and display a pair of keys. Kyukaku looked down to the bar where they had slid in front of them, he picked them up and gave them a stare before turning back to face the man who just showed up Santa Clause.
"Kaz....I can't accept this. I was just joking you know, this is a freaking car!" Kyukaku exclaimed, looking at the key and the attacked fob, which alone looked like it was expensive. "Its a friggin' Mercedes!"
Kyukaku knew it wasn't as big of a deal to the multi-millionaire as it was to him. Hell, Taiku would probably find a way to use it as a tax write-off. He sighed a happy a sigh, looking at the keys once more before placing them in his denim jacket pocket before facing him once again. "I know this requires more than a thanks Kazuki, but still. Thanks."
Kyukaku let out a laugh as he Taiku made it seem as if Kyu suggested him to drink more, reaching over the table to grab the rest of the bottle while he was at it. Kyukaku's smile faded as they began to discus the more serious matters once again.
"People get hurt no matter what Kaz, you know that. But for Hircine High? Well, I haven't seen so much as of yet but from what I see so far there's little differences. People are the same everywhere. The only difference from here and there is that back in Varron, the kids weren't scared to speak up when something's wrong.
"Stern has always irked me more than most. Yeah, Kvist is a son of a bitch, I won't deny that, but Stern always had that air about him you know? He's so outwardly powerful yet he works from behind the scenes. I've always paid more heed to his actions in one way or another." Kyukaku paused, looking at his drink to see if he wanted to sip once more, but decided against it. He'd never want to drive under the influence and risk a chance to hurt someone. Especially not in his brand spankin' new Merc.
"Someone writing me a letter hm? You're right. Legion still has a reason to exist, it probably always will. You know where I am and where I stand. I'll be here when you need me."

Waving it off with a dry smile, he shook his head...
"It's not a question of you accepting it, kid. It's a car, thats all it is. I said that if there was anything I could help ya with, I'd do it. You said you'd want a car, and you'd have gotten one, though by chance, the keys you're holding just happened to be up for grabs....Otherwise you'd be driving a Malibu...."
He raised an eyebrow with a faint smile. He wasn't kidding, if he hadn't planned on getting a change of vehicle, he'd have gotten Tyler a car, but it'd not have been quite the luxury of the vehicle the young man was now the owner of. He could tell, however, that it had been something to Tyler to receive that. If nothing else, the kid'd be able to cruise around with his lady in some real flair.
"It doesn't even require the thanks, Tyler. I'll transfer the current road certificates and such into your name, but it'll be down to you to finance the insurance after the current years worth exipres. Keep that in mind, alright?"
Glancing up from his glass and listening intently, resting his elbow on the bar and turning to fully face him before nodding at the words...He understood where he was coming from, and gave a light shrug as he sipped a touch of the rum.
"Yeah...It would seem that one way or another things are going to take a particular turn in due time...There's always a calm before a storm, isn't that how the saying goes, Tyler? I'm guessing there's going to be some clear skies soon....", he rolled his shoulders with a short pause, blinking lightly to clear the fog that was descending over his eyes before he shook his head quickly, "But, I'm glad to hear that...When the day arrives, you'll know what exactly is going to happen. For now, however, I think that an old, drunk man who's soft with his money needs to get some coffee into his system, and a hobbling room-mate of yours needs to get home...If he's got a car with him, take his with you and come back to get the Mercedes, just in case he decides to throw up somewhere along the line...Do you want someone to help you get him into the car?"
