Another poem from me. Read on...
Justified
Nobody notices anything anymore
Nobody ever will
Crimes always go unnoticed
Nobody cares anymore
You see something in front of you
You let it pass
"Somebody else will stop it" you say
Yeah right
The police only stop major crimes
Or crimes that are blatantly obvious
Fuck the police
They're incompetent
I'm going to make you notice
I'm going to help somebody
I'm probably going to get caught
Oh well
In for a penny, in for a pound
At least I'll be serving a purpose
I've arranged everything
I'm wearing a black sweater
I'm wearing rubber gloves
No sense leaving fingerprints
I've shaved my head
I'm wearing sunglasses
I've disguised myself
I won't look like the picture I sent you
It's nighttime
People are awake, but they don't notice
It's safer to mind your own business
They will be proven wrong
I enter the building
I walk up the stairs
I go down the hallway
I knock on your door
You answer it
You
Are
FINISHED
My foot comes up and kicks your stomach
You fall back
I step inside and shut the door
Justice will be served
As you gasp, I tell you what I know
What you've done
Whether you've enjoyed it
And what I'm here for
You rush at me, snarling
You've had no formal training like I have
I push your fist past me and punch you in the stomach
I laugh
I stand you up
I stab my fingers into your throat
You gasp for air
Now I'm going to kill you
I kick you in the stomach
You fall to the ground
I stand over you
I strike my knuckles into your skull temple
My rage gives me great strength
I keep hitting and hitting
Blood begins to flow, then fly
I start to hear cracking sounds
I can't stop hitting
I love this so much
My knuckles are red with your blood
And it's all for justice
I grow tired of hitting
I grab you by the head
I slam your face into the wall
I keep on doing it
After forever, I grow weary
Your face and skull are ruined
I dump you on the ground
I spit on your corpse
That's not enough
I stand over you
And I piss on you
Someone gasps
I turn around to see
You're standing in the doorway
You're shocked beyond belief
Why do you look so shocked?
Isn't this what you wanted?
I do not understand your tears
Why are you saddened by my actions?
I was only doing the right thing for you
You say you deserved this
You say it was your fault
You say I shouldn't have interfered
You say there is no hope for me now
I smile at you as you weep
If I am to be damned, so be it
A sacrifice must be made
To protect the ones we love
Two years later, I sit here
In this dank, cramped cell
Wondering where you are
Whispering to myself: "Justified"
I got lucky at my trial
They had evidence, but not enough
Crime: Second degree murder
Sentence: Twenty years, up for parole in fifteen
I was lucky I didn't get first degree
Otherwise I'd be in here for life
Or worse, I'd get the death penalty
Isn't the judicial system great?
This place is a nightmare
But I don't need to tell you that
I survive using my fists each day
But I don't mind
I'm not sorry for what I did
I'll do it again once I make parole
I'll just be more careful
I'll have to find a different method
The reporters wrote what I said in the paper
The people actually took notice of it
"You never notice anything.
I'm going to set an example for you."
I'm not saying I'm special
I'm just saying you need to look for things
I'm on the side of good
I helped somebody in need
And I loved that person in need
It's time for lights out
Remember what I said
What I did was right and true
I have no regrets
You would do the same if you were in love
There was no alternative solution
It was
JUSTIFIED
THE END
