I don't expect this thread to last long, mostly something to do in between posts. I basically went scrounging around through some older games and I found Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0. So I was like meh, I'll give it a try. Read some things, looked online for free downloads on fonts and brushes. (Had no idea DeviantArt had so many brushes to download.) Played around with some stuff for about an hour and tadah! Here is what I made. . .harsh criticism appreciated. The first one I made. Wanted to see if I could actually make an animated pic, it worked. Its simple, it was more of a test run. The name is from one of my characters on another board, might use it for awhile until I get better at this.

Wow these are... pretty freaking awesome. While I am by no means a photoshop critic, I think these are pretty awesome, the Bleach one being my favorite by far just for my unconditional love for that series of awesomeness >.<. Regardless, very good pics, and I like how you put the .gif into the 2nd one.

I don't have or use Photoshop, so I may not be in a position to exactly criticize, but I'll give it a go.
First off, the background hollow mask doesn't blend into the rest of the picture very well. It's simply a straight line. Maybe it would be better to mix it in or use a full render instead of a cut-off one? Furthermore, the smudges from one picture to the next look somewhat sloppy. Ichigo's hair on the right-most one I feel should be more distinct instead of smeared.
I don't much more to say other than keep it up. You're obviously not on the level of the three main photoshoppers on the site, but I feel you'll get there if you keep at it.

Color choice hurts my eyes. As much as blue and orange may go together SOMETIMES, not when there're a couple "different" oranges. The one with the Hollow mask. Square-cut-off-thing. Bad. There's also a blob of emptiness above the text and to the right of the Ichigos... Whereas the Ichigos are cluttering up to the left. The way you stretched out Alucard's face is... Ech. In a way, it makes the sig look bigger and not in a flattering sense. The animation looks sluggish to me, but hey, it's a first try thing. Probably the only one that looks good in my opinion. Colors give off a sense of balance.

All right thanks for the criticism. I'll try making the sigs a bit smaller so I don't have as much open space. The Alucard one is sluggish, I played around with the settings and have learned to make the pics move faster.
Glad nobody had complaints about the last one. I liked that one the most. ;D Think I might make some more real soon, criticism appreciated on any and all work I do.

Sorry for double posting, I would like opinions on these three. They are very simple and I adjusted the sizes. Criticism on what size is preferred would help. ;D Love this game was going to have it so that only the text, render, and blood was gonna be showing, no white, but decided against it. No Blue, but it has gold! Basic picture, with the same picture blurred in the background with a lower opacity. Used a random brush and clicked overlay to get the final product of the picture. I simply couldn't resist combining these pics. . .

www.gfxvoid.comTutorials section. Also, I suggest 'finding' a copy of Photoshop 7, CS, or CS2.
