It was May 11th, a Friday in the year 2007 Anno Domini that signaled the end of the weekday and the start of the weekend. And for some random fun, on this day the French were defeated at the battle of Dien Bein Phu in Vietnam.
Anyways, the sun was in the sky, the clouds were few and sparse, the birds sang as the wind blew. God was in his Heaven and everything was okay with the world. Right now it was about midday, with lunch currently being the period. Sitting along on the roof was a single figure, bleeding from the mouth as he consumed his small meal. The person was none other than Auroth, bleeding from his mouth as he took a bite out of his tuna sandwich. He reached into his mouth, his fingers prodding around before he took them out to see his blood on his finger tips. Taking a napkin, the warrior began to wipe his face, looking down at the blood stains all along his clothing. It was a positive mess, but at least Auroth could quietly convalesce up here on the roof.
You see, Auroth didn't do his homework in Math for the entire week. It wasn't that he was lazy or anything, but he simply didn't have the time to do the long number crunching that mathematics required him to do. While he was in his apartment trying to figure out what X equaled, there were people in the streets being attacked and harassed by unsavory fellows. The Blonde Hair warrior, and his self-righteous sense of Justice, couldn't sit by and let this happened... So as oppose to doing his homework, he was a vigilante in the slums of Varron.... What resulted from this was a rather severe beating from a teacher. Sure, Auroth could've fought back, but he didn't want to...
Teachers are strong, and if Auroth were to raise his hand against one of them, he knew that at least a dozen other teachers would swoop in to "Discipline" him, resulting a rather bloody and medical-billed student. Besides, even if he did beat one teacher, he didn't want the attention for doing such a feat (Assuming he could pick off one of the weaker teachers). For now, all the blonde hair warrior wanted to do, or rather be, was a shadow against the backdrop of Varron High. He had his own problems, very extensive to say the least problems, he needed to deal with... And being thrusted into Varron politics and the Varron spot-light was something he didn't need to add to his set of issues....
Well, for now, all Auroth was doing on this empty roof was chewing on his rather plain tuna sandwich, letting the wind push against his muscular form...

"You're hurt."
Came the soft voice of a rather beautiful and peppy redheaded girl. She was slender but she had curves. Toned as she was a dancer and short as most girls are. She had long straight red hair that fell to her hips dressed in hip hugger jeans and a button down shirt that fit her perfectly in it's soft lavender color. It only accented her pale milky skin and her blue eyes. She knelt down beside the man that was bleeding. Gently she opened her messenger bag, a pink bag with plush key chains hanging on it from different anime and Hello Kitty. She pulled out some napkins for him and a smile as she looked up.
"Here." she said placing them in his lap. "My name is Teneile. I haven't see you around. But, guess that's because I don't normally eat lunch up here." she said with a smile.
"But I came up here today because it always seems so quiet and I wanted to think some things over." she said with another smile as she sat down next to the blonde and looked down over the school from the roof and pulled her legs up to her chest bent at the knees laying her chin on her knees gently her blue eyes took on that far off look of thinking some things through.
"Do have family" she asked curiously after several minutes had passed. She blushed softly the pale pink color invading her cheeks. "I'm sorry, that question was out of the blue. I guess, I just.. wish for someone's opinion sometimes.. or.. I don't know. Don't mind me. Please continue your lunch." she said and went back to watching the students below them.

Auroth shifted his eyes to his side, the sounds of foot steps coming toward him. Right now, he didn't now what to do. He wasn't feeling any impulses, nor was he looking for any social activity (Considering that he's, you know, alone on the roof top), so instead decided to remain quiet on his roof top. Maybe whomever is coming will just pass Auroth as everyone else does.... Perhaps, it's better that way. She doesn't need to get involved, not like everyone else. The man then closed his eyes, reflecting on his self-imposed isolation as the foot steps got louder and louder. He was forcing this upon himself, this isolation, so that no one would get harmed. He came close to doing so a few days back, and then he could only barely contained his Inner Darkness, the dubious name he gave his other self. Eventually, the foot steps stopped, as Auroth hoped that the approacher would notice his blood and leave right away. While the red fluid was indeed common in this school, there was still this human instinct to avoid blood... And perhaps coupled with him being alone, the approacher would realize there was something wrong with this scene and leave.... "It would be better this way" He thought "I don't need to involve anyone.."
"You're Hurt"
Looking up, the blonde hair warrior noticed a stunningly beautiful redhead approach. Her outfit was neither too revealing nor conservative, but instead stroked a beautiful balance between the two. The woman then introduced herself after handing the Varronite some tissue to take care of his bleeding. Respectfully, he nodded his head in gratitude as the woman sat down. Before he could reply with his own name, the girl soon began to go on a bit of a rant. Not wanting to interrupt, Auroth merely stood by as he let the girl speak. It wasn't that he was captured by her beauty or grace.... But rather he was observing it like a curator would observe a beautiful statue. He was amazed by her striking looks, but nothing more. When she finally finished, the rather silent man decided to speak up.
"Well, to begin, I'm Auroth" He said softly, as though whispering into her ear. "And no, I don't have a family. In truth, I live alone in some apartment in the slums of this city."
He then let that sink in as he took another bite out of his sandwich, looking down at the students walking by, his soft hair flowing in the wind next to Teneile's...
"But it's okay... I've... never met my parents... And how about you? Do you have a family?"

She smiled softly at him. Auroth. An interesting name to be sure she had never heard of it before but then again she really didn't hang out with that many people at school just because she was always so usy after school that she had less and less time for friends and friends required maintenance. He then explained that he didn't have a family and perhaps that was just as well. It seemed stupid that she was here talking to a complete stranger about her problems but in a way she really needed someone that would just listen because she had a feeling that the one person that she would tell about it would either not understand or he would pretend to and then just blow it off not truly getting how much she was hurt by everything that had happened so suddenly in her life.
"Not.. anymore." she whispered when he asked if she had a family. She looked over at the blonde that was sitting beside her. "Would you mind if I confided in you for a bit? I really need to get some things off my chest and I really just need someone that has not ties to me at all to just.. know what they think." she said softly.
If he said yes, then she would go into her story. If he said no, she would say she was sorry for bothering him and move on to something else.
If he said yes.
"You see. My brother was sick all his life. He had cancer and died a little over a year ago. But when I was born I knew, knew immediatly that I was not wanted. As I grew up I was ignored, unloved, yelled at, and basically nothing but a disappointment. Even whenn I took up dancing and got really good at it, I would bring home trophies or awards from my recitals and they just didn't care. All they cared about was my brother. So when my brother died, he was the only one that really enjoyed my company, I took it really hard. And my mom, she killed herself not a month later leaving just me and my dad." she said softly.
"And you would think.. that after that he would take the last of his family and hold it close. But no.. he just threw himself into his work and never came home so I lived alone. Well recently I met someone, and moved away, because I hate living alone and I had an opportunity not to. So why wouldn't I take it? Right?" she asked with a soft smile. "So I left and he found out. He told me he disowned me. That I was worth nothing and he never wanted to see me again that I was a .. mistake."
"so.. no matter how much I wish it.. I have no family now." she whispered and sighed placing her chin on her knees and hugging them there.
"so.. this is all happened in the last few weeks and I find myself not the same person I was. I mean at least before I had the illusion I would be accepted or had a family but he made it more than clear that I was never and will never be wanted and it really cut me deep you know and I don't know how to get past it and I don't .. don't know what to do now.." she said softly.
"I'm sorry to lay this all on you and I really appreciate you listening I .. am lost." she sighed.

Auroth nodded her head to the girl, agreeing to listen to her tale. It was odd really, how everyone here at Hircine, or even back in the day at Varron, had a story to tell. No matter who he met here, everyone had something to say about their lives, with some darker and/or grittier than others. He turned his head toward the lady, his azure orbs watching her as she spoke of her sad tale. She spoke of a family whom never loved her, a father who was a workaholic, a suicidal mother, and a brother who she loved, but soon died and left her. Her pains seemed so similar to his own.... But that was perhaps a story for another day. Right now, the girl was sad... And Auroth being who he was had no idea of how to console her. He had gone years without ever needing to display empathy or pity, and yet here he was no without an idea of what to do. All he could do instead was go through his mind of try to remember what people would do at this time.....
Think of it as though he were an outsider to humanity, never truly understanding them, and yet trying to emulate humans...
Slowly he placed his hand on her shoulder, establishing physical contact as he patted the crunched-up girl. His eyes were on her, watching and observing as the silent wind blew past them. His blonde hair fluttered in the wind, moving so serenely along the air as he leaned in, his face close, but not too close, to the girl's face.
"I think... We're all lost in life" Auroth began, his tone soft and yet firm.. "But that's besides the point. Even if you were kicked out by your father, at least your father is still alive. You even had the fleeting joy of having a brother to confide in, even if it were just for a short while. Look at me... I never met my family, I never met my mom, dad, or even my extended relatives. And while you were emotionally tortured by your family, at least you knew them."
With that, the man leaned back, trying to think of what to say next. He was very awkward with social situations, and really didn't understand people at all. No matter what he did, he could never understand the normal human, only other human monsters like him; Killers, Torturers, Rapists, he understood them with disturbing readiness.... And yet when it came to the average mortal, he had no clue about them. To put it bluntly, he was perhaps the ultimate outsider.... But that won't stop him from trying to console this girl. On that note; why was he consoling her? She was a stranger to him... A fleeting figure which would come and go in his life... And yet, why did he pity her so. Perhaps it may be that she is like him; forsaken, lost.. Without a purpose or motive.... Regardless, this eerie silence which is developing between the two was starting to get rather annoying... and Auroth needed to end it...
Auroth leaned forward, not too fast, but not to slow, but just at a medium pace. His hands once more landed on the girl's shoulder, prompting her to looking at the man right in the eyes. He would then lean close, not as though he were to kiss her, but just close enough to establish an intimate connection. He'd seen people do this all the time, and thought that maybe he could try to use this now...
"Well.... If it makes you feel better... At least I accept you..."

Teneile listened to him as he spoke. His hand landed gently on her shoulder and her hand came up placing her hand on his. She listened as he told her that even though her family sucked and basically hated her and everything she was that at least she had gotten to know them. She smiled softly. He told her that he did not know his family and her hand squeezed his for a moment. She felt bad for him because he was right. His hand moved when he did and she let it slip out of her grasp and her hand fell back to her knees. For some time they just sat there lost in their own thoughts she wondered what it would be like to not know your family at all.
While her family, save her brother, did not love her he was right, she at least had gotten to know them. She thought about the times when they did have fun. Even if they did things more geared towards her brother there were times when as a family they all laughed and smiled. But it was her brother that gave her all the happy memories that made her the bright happy girl that she was now. The one that had friends and was an excellent dancer. She missed her brother more than she could even describe. He was more like her twin than just a brother they had been so alike and so close. Then his hand came and touched her again, Teneile's eyes rose gently and looked into his. Blue for blue she smiled at him softly as he began to speak.
She laughed when he was done the life coming back into her face she moved forward and hugged him gently for a moment. She broke the hug not letting it linger too long. She smiled pulling back from him.
"Thanks. Thanks for listening to me." she said with a brighter smile being more herself now than she was the time she had sat down beside him. "So.. if you don't mind my asking how come you don't know your family?" she asked.

Auroth watched as the girl moved toward him when he finished, a laugh previously coming out of her lips. Her arms then enclosed around him, grasping him and clutching him. She hugged him, and it was a feeling that was so foreign to him. Despite the fact that he supposedly had a girlfriend in the past, one to which he wanted to marry, the memory of hug and affection from her were non-existent. As such, he felt very awkward as this lovely young redhead held him so close. All he could do was merely take his own arms and hold her as well, placing both of his palms against her back as he clutched her, albeit without as much emotions as the lady did. Eventually, she let go, life returning to her once pale face with a smile. She thanked Auroth for listening to her tale, and he in return nodded. Soon enough though, the girl then asked why Auroth had yet met his family. The man let out a silent sigh as he looked at the girl in the eyes, an alien look about in his cerulean eyes.
"Well... I just never met them" Auroth began, slowing leaning back. "The earliest thing I remembered was wandering the streets of a city far, far away... Where corruption was the norm. I remember being in tatters, and blood gushing from my body.... Eventually, I remembered collapsing, and when I woke up I found myself in my Master;s Orphanage.. and from there......"
The man then paused, letting the wind fill the silence with its soothing melody. "Well, I don't want to bore you with details...." he said, turning his eyes toward the girl. "Let's just say some things happened, and I found myself here in Hircine...."
In truth, he wanted to keep the hidden details of his past to himself. it wasn't out of some sort of desire to be secretive or anything, but rather... recalling the past harmed his head. He can't actually remember much of his time at the orphanage, and didn't want to cause the girl to raise any concern over his questionable memories. Sitting upright, the man took a sip out of his soda can as he handed the girl a bag of chips. He figured she was probably hunger, and decided to extend this kind gesture. While not that important to a normal person, this act of kindness was the first he'd done in his recent past, signaling a change; a change to his once dark and violent self...
"So tell me, where do you stay now? You said this happened a few weeks ago and I certainly hope you're not staying out in the streets...."

Teneile was intrigued by the man that sat beside her now. She had felt the reluctance in the hug but finally he had hugged her thin body back. It wasn't a long hug more a thank you for listening type thing. She liked him though. No not like she wanted to date him but she enjoyed sitting next to him he was different than her other friends much more reserved in himself and she liked that, it was so different from her own way of life. Teneile was always so peppy and happy but this person in front of her seemed so subdued and for some reason she found herself instead of wanting to leave, wanting to learn more about him now then before. He told her about his past, or what he remembered of it and she sat in an indian style right next to him her blue eyes were deep compared to his that were lighter but she looked right at him eager to learn about him.
"So you've got amnesia?" she asked the obvious knowing the answer anyway it just seemed like the right question to ask. "That's so sad. I"m quite sorry that happened to you." she said sincerely.
When he told her he didn't want to bother with the details she could take a hint. She wasn't about to pursue the knowledge or force him to delve into his past, Lord knows she didn't like going into her own all that often but it had felt good just getting some things off her chest. He handed her a bag of chips and she smiled brightly.
"Thanks! I'll share mine too!" she said as she pulled her bag close she opened it and rifled through it producing a brown paper sack. "I always make too much."
She opened the sack and pulled out two small tupperwares. Normally she fed Kazuma but he was home sick today and she had packed herself extra like normal the night before and had forgotten. She passed one to him, inside a chilled BLT. She smiled it was already cut in half and he could eat the whole thing she had her own. He then asked her if she had a place to stay and her smile softened.
"Yes, I do. I live with Kazuma Sagara, I don't know if you know him. But he's.. ummm quite large, latin, dark hair, blue eyes, very muscular, looks mean? Him." she chuckled softly with a shrug as she took a bite of her sandwhich and chewed for a moment. Swallowing she looked up at her lunch time companion.
"What about you? do you have a place to live and someone to live with?" she asked curiously.

Auroth nodded to her amnesia question, his fine golden hair moving along with the wind. She then expressed her pity of him, and how she felt bad for the man. In truth, however, it wasn't just his early childhood, he forgot nearly all of his experiences at his orphanage/monastery. Of the few he knew, they were always murky and hurt his head to recall... The doctors said that his memories should come back in time.... But that was about two years ago, and nothing has come back. Which then leads to a important question... Does memory make someone who they are? From one's memories one can remember who they are, how they act, where they've been and what they should do... But a person without memory and who have succumbed to Lethe does not have this luxury. What if they completely change themselves, the memories of the past no longer holding tethers on who they are. Indeed, Auroth remembered how he woke up blank in the forest, a fire all around him... Only to pass out due to the fumes. He then woke up in a hospital only remembering one thing...
Auroth
But that's besides the point; the man soon looked up to see Teneile's offer as she handed him a box of food. Opening the box slowly, he looked inside to stare at the contents. His sandwich was rather unsatisfying, and so readily did he take to the new meal. Once more he looked up, the girl now questioning where he lived.
"I live alone, toward the projects area." The man said, his tone solemn as usual.... "It's not the best place to live, but the cost is cheap.."
"And the prey to redeem is plentiful..."
That last thought, that last thought he had in his mind.... it was something his other self would've said. The Sophomore thought he had locked up his other side, at least for the moment, and yet here was this echoing remark. Suddenly, as if out of no where the bell rung, disorienting the already confused man. Looking at the redhead, he nodded his head....
"Well, looks like I'm off to class then"
