"Please tell me you're joking."
"No sir, it's all happening quite like I'm telling you. Third story window escapes, golf cart getaways, and now flamethrowers in the gymnasium. It's wild beyond all belief."
Not bothering to reply further, Darren shook his head, grabbed his nearby coat, and draping it over his shoulders, exited his classroom, where the teacher had stopped to allow the messenger to deliver the news to Darren, and left. Being the School Captain had it's priviledges.
He walked with a purpose, taking long, graceful strides as he headed toward the gymnasium. As he made his way there, multiple students as well as faculty joined him for brief periods of time, filling him in on all the details. This had been quite the situation, and frankly, Darren was more than a little irked that he hadn't been told earlier. From the soudns of it, it was all to be over soon. Shrugging mentally, Darren continued on. At least this way he would be around to administer the punishment.
On the way to the gymnasium, however, he saw a student sprinting in his general direction, heading, no doubt, towards the parking lot behind him. It didn't take a genius to know this kid was trying to escape the crime scene, and unfortunately for him, Darren was, in fact, a genius.
As fast as he was sprinting, the student would have no time to read and react to Darren's left arm suddenly extending out to his side. He threw it forward, putting as much force into the clothesline as was possible. The attack would catch Kai right in the throat. Kai would fall, and likely grasp his throat in pain. Breathing would be hard to come by for another few moments. Saying nothing, Darren simply pointed at the fallen student. One of the people following him at the moment immediately dropped to his knees near him, holding him down and letting him know exactly was to happen.
"Detention will seem like heaven compared to where you'll end up if you pull this shit again. This isn't Varron academy, punk, we keep things civil here."
In a show of hypocrisy, the student pulled forth a nightstick, no doubt supplied to him by either the school or Darren himself, and thwacked Kai hard over the head, putting him out like a light.
Opening the gym doors quietly, he found that the smoke alarms had gone off, and the sprinkler system was already pouring water down upon the entirety of the building. Korin were standing there, his back to Darren, unaware of his presence. With the water pounding against the gym floor, Darren's footsteps would be masked entirely, and nothing short of an act of God would let Korin on to his presence. Taking hold of his head firmly with his left hand, Darren swept Korin's right leg out from under him with his left and pushed forward on his head, using surprise to his advantage to drive Korin head-first into the hardwood floor. The boy would never even see it coming until he fell, either unconscious or harboring a serious headache.
Following Darren were two of the generic Hircinian lackeys, dedicated to the cause of their Captain, bar none. Darren wasn't a big fan of them, by any means, their sycophantic nature disgusted him almost as much as the Varronites wildly chaotic one. However, unlike the Varronites, these had their uses, and at Darren's behest, the two dropped upon Korin, pressing his head against the gym floor. One read Korin a similar riot act as had been given Kai, and the same treatment, resulting in another unconscious body on the school grounds. Darren continued to walk.
Finally, in the nearby classroom, Darren found the ringleader of it all. Unfortunately for Valencia, someone from the original classroom had made it to Darren during his trip, informing him on just who had started it all. Normally, Darren would have been sympathetic to her cause, as the student himself had told him that she hadn't been the one cheating in the first place. However, it was her actions, not her intentions, that she would be held accountable for.
And tied up as she was, she was left quite vulnerable.
Striding forth, Darren's eyes gazed uninterestedly as possible upon her person, as she gazed almost as uninterestedly back.
"Careful, Darren, she's a bit loony."
"No she's not."
"What? She clearly-"
"Trust me. This one shows no signs of insanity. All I see in her is desperation."
Taking a step forward, Darren's hand made a fist and reached under Valencia's chin, using his finger to lift her head up to face his.
"Now, girl, that you have found yourself in a compromised position, I'll give you one chance, and one only, to explain just what could have inspired such an incredibly unnecessary turn of events. Oh, and be quick, this water is dampening my mood as surely as it dampens my clothes."
