Sitting in the crammed bus, Grey waited impatiently for his new school to finally come into view. His Grandfather had thought that Hircine High would be a much better place for him, but from the rumors that Grey had heard before he left it was just as bad of a place as his old school. The only thing that was different was that things in this new school seemed to be a bit more organized than his old one, he it really didn't matter at all to him. The truth of the matter was that Grey would be almost completely unknown in these new surroundings, which would prove to be a useful tool if he decided to lay low until he got his roots planted in the place. He never really planned anything through anyway, so it was pretty hard to predict what he would truly do.
Finally the bus began to stop as the bus driver stated over the intercom that the next stop was Hircine High. Grey's grin got even wider as he got up and started walking down the do to the exit of the bus. His bags hit almost every person that he passed and a few people were yelling as he continued walking, but he was too excited to pay attention to trifling things like that. Finally the bus doors opened and he jumped out with a loud cry of victory. "Hell yeah!" Was all that he said as he went running in the direction of what looked to be the dorm building. Most of the students that were walking around in the courtyard looked at him with puzzled faces and began asking each other who he was, but no one knew the answer.
Bursting through the door of the dorm building, Grey looked around with dazzled eyes as he glanced down the halls at all of the fancy looking carpet and wallpaper. He had lived in poverty his whole life so all of the nice looking things seemed so different to him, but he soon shook that off. He walked over the the front desk and stopped right in front of the woman that most likely would check him in. As he continued to look around he began to speak to the woman without actually making any eye contact. "So yeah, I'm a the new guy that just transfered from north of here." She looked at him with annoyance in her eyes. And you are? He stopped to finally make eye contact and gave her a big smile. "Who am I?! That's a dumb question, but I guess you deserve an answer."
Throwing one of his bags to the ground, he brought his right hand up with his thumb pointing to his chest. "The name is Grey Grimmjow, and I suggest you store that name in your long term memory lady. You're gonna be hearing it a lot!" With a deep sigh the young woman looked through the computer to try and find his name, and after finally getting to near the bottom of the G's she found his name. She then grabbed a slightly stained key and handed it over to Grey. You have Drake's old dorm room. He looked at the key with one eye brow raised slightly higher than the other. "Who was this Drake guy? Someone special?" The young woman sighed and began to read the book she had started before Grey interrupted her. Why don't you ask your new roommate?
Grey acted as if he were hurt by the young woman's way of saying beat it, but he only did it for attention. He then went jogging down the hallway and then up the stairs. The second floor had a completely different feel than the first, but both made Grey feel like he was finally somewhere important in life. The smell of Febreeze filled the air which most likely meant that this floor had just recently been cleaned. He finally snapped out of his daze and continued to jog down the hall. He saw his room number, but accidentally ran past it and ran right into the cleaning lady's cart. He knocked over the trash can and most of her cleaning sprays, which caused the woman to yell from inside the room next to his own. He quickly opened his door and ran in before the woman could see that he did it.
Once inside he could see that there were a few bags of clothing and some luggage that most likely was this Drake character's old stuff. Grey just ignored it and placed his three bags on the dining room table. He then turned around and jumped onto the couch that was facing the television. Turning it on he found himself watching the local news, which he rolled his eyes at, but he figured he might as well catch up on some of the things that were happening around this area. He didn't really make an effort to see if his roommate was even in the dorm, but he would most likely find out soon. "Maybe the news isn't that informative after all." He said while eating a chips from a small bag that he had brought with him.

The sound of clanging could be heard outside. It sounded like a trash can, and woke Kit up from his nap. Looking at the time, he realized he did not have any class so it was alright to sleep again. As he turned, wrapping the bedsheets around him like a cat curling up in it's fur, he heard the sound of something drop on the dining room table. The local news was soon heard and the crunching of potato chips. Argh, who could it be? Kit wondered. Drake was no longer his roommate and he had the apartment to himself. As for what had happened with Drake, Kit wasn't quite sure but the luggage packed up and waiting for Drake's family to pick it up.
Heading to the direction of the disturbance, Kit hoped that the sound was actually coming from outside as opposed to inside. However, he was proven wrong as there sat a boy with blue hair on the couch. Kit rubbed his eyes, still weary and wanting to go back to his nap. With a yawn, he asked in an audible voice, "Who you? What you do here for?"
Though Kit had improved his english speaking skills, every once in a while he would let some broken english slip from his mouth. He had to concentrate a bit to speak fluently, and concentration was something Kit most certainly did not have right now.
Looking at the bag of chips the boy was holding, Kit quickly glanced over to the kitchen top and was relieved to see that he was eating his own as opposed to Kit's bag of chips. Snacks were Kit's favorite meal and he had to work hard to earn money for them. Kit stood there, waiting for a response in his white basketball shorts and worn out blue t-shirt that he had used as a pajama as it was cheaper than buying those sets that people often wore.

As Grey continued to chow down on his bag potato chips, he heard the sound of a door slowly creeping open and some slow soft footsteps coming closer to him. He really didn't pay any attention to them as he was spacing out do to the boredom of the local news. The footsteps stopped but still no acknowledgment came from Grey as he continued to eat his salty flavored chips. Then, like a zombie, Grey heard some barely audible words coming from behind him. They weren't exactly proper English, but Grey could easily make out what the kid was saying. Grey then snapped out of his partial trance and leaned his head back on the arm rest. He was in a laying position, but when he cocked his head back like he did he was able to clearly see who was talking to him.
With his usual grin on his face, he closed his eyes and gave a little laugh. "Who me, and what I do here for?!" He laughed slightly again before pushing himself off of the couch, doing a slight backward cartwheel and landing on his feet. "Naw I'm just messin with ya man. I'm sure you're just a little groggy or something so its understandable. The name's Grey Grimmjow, and I guess that I'm your replacement roommate. I transfered here from northern San Fran because my gramps thought this would be a better place to live." He grabbed the kid's hand and shook it slightly hard, being too impatient to actually wait for the kids hand in return. He then walked around and to the right side of the kid and placed his left elbow on his right shoulder, his bag of chips being in the left hand.
He held the bag of chips in front of the kid's face and graced at him through the corner of his eye with a grin. "You want some? They're pretty damn good if I do say so myself." Grabbing a few chips from the bag and then placing it back his front of the kid, he at those chips and started watching the news again. You can have the rest of the bag man, I'm full." He placed the bag in the kid's right hand and then jumped back onto the couch, this time sitting on it regularly to leave room for the kid to sit. If it wasn't obvious by now that Grey had a hard time sitting still, his roommate would soon figure it out. "How can you watch the new man? Nothing interesting ever goes on anyway." He then began to tap his right foot extremely fast as a way to keep himself busy while watching the boring television broadcast.

It seemed that the boy who had intruded upon Kit's sleep was known as Grey Grimmjow. He was pretty quick in his motions, and was a very jumpy fellow. Without waiting, he had already shook Kit's hand before Kit had a chance to introduce himself, as well as maneuver around Kit followed by the return to the couch. Kit was weary and really had to wake up now to keep up with the pace that the boy was going at. It seemed as if Grey was on some sort of stimulant or something the way he bounced around.
As he walked to get some water to wake himself up, he realized that Grey had placed the bag of potato chips in his hand while shifting around. Placing the bag of chips on the counter, he opened a fresh bottle from the fridge. Kit gave a stretch after gulping down the entire bottle only to realize that he should have saved some for the chips that he had acquired.
"Yeah, there is not really much to watch on television. I usually do not watch the news or television for that matter, but rather exercise outside. My name is Kit by the way. Please excuse my accent and if I sometimes speak improperly in broken english, I am still trying to fix it."
Kit then popped a chip in his mouth as he leaned against the wall. "Why are you so jumpy for?" he asked while crunching on the chips which were quite good.

As Grey continued to sit and watch the news, the kid went and walked to the fridge to grab some water. He downed the entire bottle in little time at all and then grabbed the bag of chips with a roll of the eyes. 'Drank the water so quick that he doesn't even have any left to down the chips with. Poor guy.' Finally getting disgusted with the news he changed the channel to some soccer and his eyes opened wide. As he started watching the intense soccer game that was no on the kid began to speak to him again, but this time in much more fluent English. He stated that his name was Kit, and that there really was never anything interesting on TV anyway. Then he said that he would rather do things outside Grey turned away from th television to actually pay attention to him.
He said that he was still working on his English, though the only real thing that was wrong was the strong accent. He then began eating some of the chips that Grey gave him and leaned against a nearby wall. The next question that he asked Grey only made his grin get a little wider. He asked why Grey was so jumpy, and the truth was it was just how he was. Grey got up and walked quickly to lean against the same wall that his new roommate was as well, and then crossed his arms behind his neck. "Well I guess that I'm a little jumpy, but thats just how I am. I've always had a hard time sitting still because I'm almost always just overflowing with energy, ya know what I mean? I don't even usually drink pop or energy drinks, so imagine me with those in my system"
He laughed out loud at his last comment that he seemed to find hilarious. He then stuck his hand in the bag of chips and pulled out a couple, placing them in his mouth and eating them as quick as he could so he could continue the conversation. "So what do you do for fun in a place like this? Are there like any parties or raves or anything like that? And how is this school in terms of disciplinary actions? I bet they're strict as hell, but doesn't matter to me. I'd like to see them make me do anything by force." Another smaller laugh came from his lips as he looked back at Kit. "Ya know what man? I see a close friendship between us in the future. I can feel it in my bones." They may have been almost complete opposites in every way, but that didn't mean that they couldn't be friends.

"Energy drinks or pop would probably slow you down," Kit said smiling at Grey's remark. Grey was quick in actions and quick in questions. "For fun huh..." Kit was not really an active person in terms of socializing. He was generally occupied with work, and though he didn't really spend much time on homework or studying, he usually found himself breakdancing as opposed to socializing with others.
"I do not know anything about parties, raves, or what others do for fun around here. I usually just go to school, then work, and practice breakdancing in any spare time. As for disciplinary actions, corporal punishment is allowed so teachers would often beat or labor students that misbehave though I haven't really encountered any first hand. Also, if you cause a fight in the school, you will generally be dealt with by the Pillars. Though I am no Pillar, I am not interested in seeing fights go for too long in which the student is severely injured. Also, fights put instability in the school, which I would rather not deal with. So don't go beating the crap out of students in school around me, or I'll have to interfere. But otherwise, yeah, we're friends unless you decide to backstab me," Kit said with a smirk.
Kit dumped the rest of the chips in his mouth as he got another bottle of water. A dry mouth was very unbearable. Especially after eating salty chips. It could be a form of torture, the way Kit saw it.
"Anyway, what're your plans for today?" Kit wanted to know this new roommate better if Grey told him that he was free.

AS Grey waited for Kit to answer his onslaught of questions he began to daydream a little, and in day dreams things happen way faster than in real life. He started to imagine the new things that he would see like an actual nice looking school, living grass, and even teachers that actually knew what they were doing. His trance was once again interrupted by Kit's voice as he began to talk again. He said that he wasn't really into the whole party scene himself and that he usually only worked, did homework, and practiced his break dancing on his spare time. The only thing that Grey really heard that interested him was the break dancing, and so he would most likely talk to him about that. He watched as Kit finished the bag of chips and let out a fake sigh then closed his eyes as he smiled.
Kit had also mentioned something about him not liking fighting in the school, and that if he saw Grey fighting he would be forced to intervene. Grey started laughing at that little statement, but then tried to contain himself. Finally Kit asked what Grey was doing today, and Grey realized his only plans were to sit in the dorms and watch television. "Well its too bad that you aren't much into the whole party scene, but I guess that break dancing is a pretty damn good substitute. You'll have to introduce me to that sometime, and maybe I'll even bring you to a party someday as well. And sorry about laughing at the whole fighting thing, but its just I wouldn't wanna fight my own roommate. That would be a little awkward for me, ya know"
Grey's stare was then directed at the ceiling as he continued his little talk. "I am somewhat of a rebel in a way, and I have been known to be in quite a few fights in my old town." He then pointed to the light blue tattoos on his bottom eye lids. "These marks are the mark of a General from the old gang that I was in. I was one of the highest ranked members of that old gang, but they all betrayed me because they thought I was getting to strong. They attempted to kill me in our own hideout and I barely managed to survive, but that's all ancient history now." He then looked back at Kit with his the same old grin on his face. "I hope this doesn't make me like your enemy or anything. Like they always say, don't judge a book by what they've done... or something like that."
He then realized that he never answered Kits most important question. "Oh Damn! Sorry for rambling on about the past man. You asked me what I had planned for today, right?" Scratching his head slightly with his right hand he tried to think of something interesting, but the only thing that came to his mind was what he was already doing. "Well damn, Kit, I guess I really haven't planned anything for today because I just got here. Don't know my way around this part of the city at all, so I really don't know where any good hangouts are." He then pushed himself off of the wall, grabbed his bags, and ran to his room to put his bags on his bed. He came running back and stopped about three feet away form Kit. "Sorry about the sudden burst there. Well I guess since I have nothing planned we could hang out for today... if that's alright?

Gangs and fights. Mess of a world. "No that doesn't make us enemies, like I said, we're friends unless you break my trust. I wouldn't want to fight you either."
It appeared that Grey was free and wanted to hang out too, just what Kit had in mind. "Alright, since you seem to be so full of life, let's race. I do not really know much of the city either aside from the cafe I work at and the park that I frequent, so a race would be more suitable for your needs and our entertainment. It'll be like an obstacle course, with some track-ish lanes and it will definately be fun," Kit said as he walked to change into jeans, and pulled on a thin loose hoody. Thing was about obstacle courses was you never knew what came your way so as opposed to under dressing and wearing just shorts and a jersey or something of that nature, it was good to have clothing in case you may need to slide on cement, or climb up sharp fences. Of course the downside to wearing more clothing was the extra weight and heat it would generate, along with getting yourself caught on objects. The clothing Kit chose however, was a hoody that allowed airflow due to its thin nature and two small holes in the armpit region. Also, Kit was comfortable in running in jeans as he had done it many times in the past.
Of course, Kit had to wait for his roommate to accept the challenge. But judging by his character, it didn't seem that he would deny something this fun. Kit had not really found any active people at school or any as restless as Grey was.
"If you accept my challenge, I'll show you the destination and we can decide on the route of travel. Don't worry, I won't have an advantage because I hardly go to this region myself. Or if you want you can choose the destination," Kit said as he held up the map he had in his hand.
This race would allow Grey to expend some of his seemingly infinite energy, as well as allowing them to compete without fighting. In addition, they would learn some of the city together and could chat while running if Grey lived up to Kit's expectations.

Grey was pleased to hear that Kit didn't care about the fighting and gang stuff of his past, but it was obvious that Kit still didn't like fights. Grey tried to understand where he was coming from, but growing up in violence through his life made Grey think it was just a part of everyday life. Kit's eyes then gleamed with a certain joy as he found out that Grey was free to hang out. He then asked if Grey would want to have a race, which made Grey let out a slight chuckle because he hadn't raced anybody in a long time. Kit then explained the rules of the race, which seemed to only excite Grey even more. it would be an obstacle course that would involve the local area of San Francisco, and Kit even got out a map to let Grey choose where they would be running to.
Grey put his right arm around Kit's shoulders and leaned against him slightly. He kept his ever lasting grin on his face as he began skimming over the map. "Well I'd love to have a foot race with you man. Its been forever since my last real race so this should be fun." Still looking over the map, he tried to find a good place that was not too far away from the school itself. After a little while he got bored of looking for a place to race to and looked over at Kit again. "You mentioned that there was a park that you go to a lot, right? Well why don't we make that the finish line? I know that will give you a slight advantage, but I'm far from slow my friend." Grey then ran into his room and switched his shoes with his running shoes. Coming out he began to jog in place. "So show me where that park is and we can start this friendly race."

Kit slipped on his adidas shoes and pulled a pen out of his pocket. Marking the map, he showed Grey the route they would be taking, which was from the dorm to the center of the park, and then back. The path back was different than the path to the center of the park. Essentially, their run would be in a circular fashion. Most of it was in the side streets and alleys that people usually deemed as shady.
"Ok the rules are, no assaulting each other physically whether it be through punches and kicks or from tossing objects at the other. You can push over objects to try to block me and I will do the same likewise. Other than that, it is basically running, maneuvering the streets, avoiding obstacles, and not dying in traffic." That was generally the hardest part of Kit's escapes in the past. Avoiding incoming cars that moved much faster than he could. If he was lucky it would be a red light. But he had come near death several times in the past due to dash across the street while it was still green.
Handing a coin to Grey, Kit said, "Toss it when you're ready to go. The moment it hits the floor we start the race. The finishing point will be here, as the door cannot fit two people running into it at the same time. Being on the second floor also adds to the extra work at the end of the race."
OOC: Feel free to create the scene of a portion of a path, obstacles, I will do so as well and combined it will become the obstacle course they run.

Kit went and put his running shoes on and pulled a pen out of his pocket. Grey continued to jog in place as Kit marked the race path on the map. It seemed to go through a whole bunch of alleyways and unmarked streets, which meant that their race wouldn't be interupted until they ran across one of the busy streets. Grey took the map and looked it over, memorizing the entire race after looking it over multiple times. Then Kit began to go over the rukes, which made Grey stop his jogging. He payed attention to the rules though most of them seemed to constricting to him. They couldn't hurt each other with punches or kicks, which sort of bummed Grey out but he decided that since it was a friendly race the rules would work out fine.
He said that the race would be an obstacle course that would go all round their part of the city. They could knock things over to try and slow the other down, but as Kit stated the traffic would be their biggest problem. Then Kit took the map away from Grey and put a coin in his hand. He said that whenever Grey was ready he should flip the coin and when it hit the ground the race would begin. "Well this race should definately proof to be an ice breaker, if I do say so myself. I'll try and stay at a steady speed so that you can actually keep up, but I get carried away sometimes so forgive me if I go a little too fast." Grey then looked down at the coin and smiled. Sticking his finger underneath the coin, he flicked it up and looked over at Kit. "See you at the finish line, Kit." He said right before the coin hit the floor and he rushed out the door, most likely with Kit close behind him.
(OOC: You can actually start the real race and I'll just go off of what you do. If that's okay.)

The sound of the coin hitting the floor never got a chance to get to Kit's ears. He had already stomped on the ground with his shoes, the moment it hit. He was right behind Grey in the hallway until they reach the stairs. Rather than run it, he jumped over the hand bars and swung down to the next flight. Dashing out the doors of the main entrance, Kit did a flip over a not so tall fence on the side, so he could have quicker access to the side street that he had marked for them to run. A rectangular garbage bin used to hold the trash of an apartment generally, was in the middle of the alley. Kit stomped his sneakers into the brick wall, pushing off it so that he would land ontop of the metal garbage bin lid. Not knowing Grey's position behind him, he quickly grabbed the rusted handle and pulled the bin lid open as he landed on the other side. It would extend the height of the garbage bin as well as create a hole in the middle so that Grey would not be able to duplicate what Kit did unless he landed on the corner of the bin or something. As Kit exited the alley, he narrowly dodged a girl who was talking on her cellphone. Her eyes had widened in shock but Kit had already dashed down the block to the next side street. OOC: Sorry for being vague before. Here is a picture of the type of garbage bins blocking the way as I have described: Here

As Grey was running down the stairs of the dorm building, he saw Kit jump down from the second floor and land about three feet in front of him. The smirk on his face only got wider as he chased after the nimble little chinese minx. Dashing out of the dorm building, Kit did a flip over a fence that could barely even be considered a fence at all, and Grey simply hurdled over it pushing himself with his right foot to get a boost of speed. 'This kid sure does like to do fancy things, now doesn't he? Maybe its time for me to do some as well.' Being about ten feet behind Kit he saw him jump onto a dumpster and then pull the lid up as he jumped to the other side. Grey's speed increased as he jumped onto the wall, kicked off it with his right foot, knocked the lid back down and then landed on the other side of it.
He was still in running mode as he landed so he kept on running at a decent speed. Kit was now only about five feet ahead, and he had lost some momentum after almost knocking a girl over. Grey used this moment to speed up and pass him. They ran to the next assigned back alley which was full of small metal trash can, which gave Grey a great idea. He had passed Kit up a little after the inciddent with the cell phone girl and was now about two or three feet ahead of him. As he ran down the alley, he saw a group of three trash cans sitting in the middle of the alley. He jumped over them, and as he cleared the furthest one he sent out his left foot to kick them all over. This left quite a mess, but Grey knew that it wouldn't slow Kit down too much.
After that was all done he would exit the alley and run across the highway which was empty at the moment, but five cars were coming down the street. Two of them from the left and three of them from the right. Grey almost made a clean getaway, but the car furthest into the highway was going fast than he had expected. He actually had to dive to the side walk, doing a forward role and then continued to the next alley. "Damn I better be more careful... or not!" He said as he laughed at his own little remark.

The girl had slowed Kit a bit so that Grey was able to pass him. It appeared that Kit's little trick of pulling the dumpster lid was not very effective. As they headed into a back alley, Grey shoved a small metal trash cans into the small group of them, turning it into a road hazard for Kit. However, this instead had helped Kit as he did not have to hurdle over the trash cans, and instead was able to hop straight to the middle of the mess. He then hopped over them as the trash cans were sprawled on the ground, lower in vertical height. Grabbing a trash can lid, he knew what was in store for him.
They were up to a highway section of the route. Kit swiftly glanced left right left and saw that he had to continue his run and not stop though it was dangerous. There was a mass load of cars coming from the right side, and Kit would have to pass now or be stuck in the middle. He dashed across the first section of the highway, and then utilized his garbage lid. Tossing it in front of him, he dived into it as the cars were coming at him. He slid right alongside Grey who seemed to take the dive to the sidewalk quite well and launched himself off the garbage lid with a foward flip so that he was back on his feet and into the running position again.
"Damn I better be more careful... or not!" Grey said as he gave a laugh.
"Damn right you better be careful, I want to finish this race!" Kit said as he passed Grey, giving him a smirk. As they headed toward the next alley, Kit had to think fast.
The alley was very narrow, and running through it could result to scraping on the sides of his arms. Pulling off a flip from his run, Kit cartwheeled down the narrow passage, and ended up on the other end. Kit kicked a bag of trash on the floor backwards and into the narrow passage in an attempt to slow down Grey. As Kit ran down the street, he jumped up and grabbed a hold of a tree branch as he could not stop due to the momentum. Swinging his body over the lady, as he dodged her and the baby carriage she was pushing. Landing on his feet, Kit continued with his momentum and sprinted foward.

As Grey finished his slight role after dodging the car, he was passed up by Kit who mocked his words with a smirk on his face. Grey only smiled as he chased after the little devil. They entered a very narrow alley that was barely wide enough for Grey to fit his broad shoulders through, but he had a couple inches of space on each side. He was used to running in tight places, and in meant that he could increase his speed. He ran quickly down the narrow corridor, but when he saw the trash bag come toward him he had very little time to react. The bag was low to the ground and so he simply did the same move he used to dodge the car, only his dive was a little higher this time.
As he continued his dive and ended up out of the alley, he noticed a woman pushing a baby stroller with a shocked face. As his hands hit the ground he quickly pushed off of the ground and launched himself over the two and a hlaf foot heigh stroller. In doing so he scrapped his hands up a little bit, but better him than the baby. Kit had swung off of a tree branch which wasn't as fast as Grey's little stunt so he ended up passing him. The park was now within sight and so Grey sprinted toward it as fast as he could. The fence to the park was much taller than the first one, but Grey wasn't going to let that slow him down.
The fence had black iron bars that were still partially wet from an earlier shower, but Grey could reach the top of the fence so it wasn't that much of a problem. The fence was about 5 and a helf feet tall and so Grey simply grabbed onto the top of the fence, jumped with his legs, hoisted himself over with his arms, and landed on the other side of the fence. The normal exit wasn't anywhere near the two runners so they would both have to so a similar feat. Right after landing Grey ran as fast as he could toward the half way mark... the central statue. "Hurry up Kit or you'll be left in the dust!" He said laughing again.

Grey was in the lead for the moment as he reached the park, grabbing ahold of the fence. The park entrance was way too far to go towards and this was a not too much of a challenge to go over. Though the bars were intimidating, Kit could clear a wall, fence, his own height easy. However, Kit would save time in this position if instead he launched himself as opposed to jumping and swinging himself over. Grabbing a tree branch that had fallen from the wind, he stabbed it into the ground as he used it like a pole to shoot himself over the black iron bars, barely over the spikes that would easily puncture a hole in his fleshy body. Kit was lucky that the branch chose to snap after he had cleared the fence. As he flew over, he could hear Grey yell, "Hurry up Kit or you'll be left in the dust!"
Landing over the fence a good distance away from it, on the grass, Kit's fall was softened by the moist soil from an earlier shower. He immediately pushed off the tips of his feet and was about a few feet in front of Grey. After shouting "WATCH OUT!" to several pedestrians, Kit tapped the central statue and continued down the path towards victory.
The next obstacle was... tennis courts. The tennis courts spanned quite a distance and to run around it would waste time. Instead, they would need to run through the tennis court, littered with balls that the users were too lazy to pick up until they finished their game. Dodging the balls on the floor, in the air, and rackets being swung, Kit made his way across the court, taking the time to pick up a tennis ball for later use. They won't mind me taking one, afterall, many of them lose several tennis balls when they whack it over the fence.

Grey was ahead of Kit for a little while, but after jumping over the fence Kit had passed him due to Grey's loss of speed. Grey ran after the smaller student as fast as he could, and after touching the statue in the park he started to finally catch up to him. They were now running through a series of Tennis courts with people playing games and minding their owns business. This was interupted by the too running in front of serves and just plain getting in the way. The tennis balls were kind of difficult to manuver around, but Grey didn't really have time to worry about little green balls. He hurdled over the tennis nets one by one, and as they left the courts Grey was ahead by a few feet at least.
As he had passed Kit he noticed that he was clutching a tennis ball, which was more than likely for further use in the race. Grey only smirked at the thought and continued down the next alley way. The alley wasn't much different from any other one except for the fact that it split into two paths, one being the path that was drawn on the map, while the other was a slightly longer route to their next destination. Seeing a homeless guy with a grocery cart, Grey new that fate had to be on his side. He ran down the path just as the hobo's cart got in front of the way. His cart was filled with old clothes and a couple of matresses, so it was fairly height for someone to jump. Even if they did it would be disgusting to touch the things he had in there.
Not knowing what Kit would do he continued on out of the street and on his way to the last back alley on their way to the school. Acording to the map there was a large highway right after the next alley, which could prove to be trouble for the two if they got there at a bad time. 'So the hardest part of the race is yet to come, huh? Well I better get my game face on then." And with that thought he hurried to the next alley which was somewhat farther away than the previous alleys.

"Sorry sir!" Kit shouted as he dove onto the cart that was blocking his way. Kit corrected the path with his dive as it spun straight, and was powered by his momentum due the slant downhill in the alley. The cart would allow him to go straight down the alley a little without running. Though the clothes smelled, it wasn't like Kit smelled very nice himself due to the sweat that was accumulating. He would shower anyway after this race was over. As the cart slowed a little after Kit's initial push, Kit decided he would have to quickly get off the ride. It would only slow him down, due to the contents in the cart.
Doing a foward flip as the cart hit a crack in the alley, Kit landed and ran straight down the road towards Grey. It appeared that they were coming to a close in their friendly competition. The last alley was coming up as well as another highway. Dashing down the road, Kit could see the highway coming up. It seemed that running across the highway would lead to a drop off which was about 7 feet high, before they could run straight to the dormitory.
Kit trailed behind Grey as he wondered what he would do to avoid the traffic and the fall that it led to.

As Grey caught sight of the highway that now lay in from of him, his heart began to beat faster and harder than it already had been. There were quite a number of cars driving both ways on the road, but he was so determined to win their race that he didn't care about his well being. Finally coming within about ten feet of the highway, his grin grew to a wild smile as he got ready to run through the fast moving vehicles. As his first foot hit the pavement of the highway, the section of the road was slightly clear. Cars were on their way so he didn't have anytime to wait when he got to the midsection of the road. Right before he arrived at the midsection of the road, a car swerved out of the way and collided with another oncoming car.
As the vehicles crashed into each other, shrapnel was thrown all over the highway and a few small pieces of glass were lodged into Grey's left shoulder. Grey himself didn't notice the accident or the pain in his shoulder because he was to spaced out on getting to the dorm building. His shoulder was covered in blood and that side of the highway had stopped movement because of the accident. The other side was also very quite as people drove by slowly to look at the wreckage that Grey had unknowingly caused. Once he got to the end of the road, he took a leap down the seven foot fall and rolled over when he landed on the ground. This pushed the glass even further into his shoulder and he now felt the pain, but he continued onward toward the dorm building.

Kit tailgated Grey, as they both ran past the first segment of the highway. However, a mess occured as a car swerved to avoid the two runners, leading to another car crashing straight into it. Why did the guy swerve instead of just hitting the brake, Kit thought. The car were at a distance in which they could have easily seen the two of them from a distance and prepared to brake. But instead, the driver decided to swerve, ultimately, his actions screwing over the driver in the other lane that had braked but had not forseen a swerve by this car from the other lane.
Due to this however, the collision impact was not as severe, and the slow motion of the collision had given Kit enough time to realize the events that were going to occur. He swiftly zipped down his hoody and balled it up to shield himself against the shards that splattered about the asphalt floor. Opening it back up, the pieces fell to the ground, making a seemingly quiet clink in comparison to the yelling and honking that was beginning to take place. Kit closed the hoody back into a ball and tied the sleeves around it, holding it under his feet as he jumped down he tall height. It would absorb some of the shock the impact had, though dirty his jacket, making Kit have to do laundry once again.
As he landed, Kit was able to recover from the fall much faster than Grey. Kit did not have blood all over his shoulder that Grey seemed to have, most likely from the shrapnel from the cars. As Kit ran, he tied the jacket sleeves across his neck so that it was like a cape. He did not have time to waste putting it back on. Dashing across the grass near the dormitory, Kit finally put his tennis ball to use as he dropped it and kicked it straight into a latch that held the fire escape ladder in place. As the ladder dropped down, Kit jumped up and swung up, straight onto the platform that led to the window of the second floor. It was a good thing the temperature was nice, otherwise the windows would not be opened. Diving through the window, Kit rolled and cartwheeled into the dorm room that they had forgot to lock. It didn't really matter to Kit though, as he did not have any material items that were valuable at all.
As he finished his cartwheel, he fell straight down on the floor. His abs were worn from the flips and the running, not to mention he did not feel like he had any more energy to maintain a smooth fall from the cartwheel to a standing position, not that there was a need for a standing position anyway. His body was so hot that the warm San Franciso temperature was like a cool breeze to him. He had literally exerted all his energy into the last maneuver. It completely ruined the pace he had maintained for most of the race to have stamina for his final move to return to the dorm. It was alright though, Kit recovered stamina and his breath quickly, but felt too lazy at the moment to sit back up. Tilting his head, the sweatdrops poured from his face to the cold ground of the dorm. He looked at the door frame so he could see when Grey would make it in. Kit wondered if Grey had followed the same method of coming in. Taking the stairs would have been way too long, as one would need to go back to the main entrance and then run up stairs, which was a runner's nightmare to end the race with.
