This must be it, thought Yousuke as he eyed the door in front of him. Surprised, he let his bags drop to the floor and glanced up and down the hallway of the dorm. Well, he thought, the building really doesn't match the reputation that this school has made for itself. The parts of the building he had seen so far were surprising decent, none of the things he had pictured that would be in a school like this had been seen. Picking up his bags again, Yousuke shrugged his backpack to a more comfortable position on his shoulder and turned back to the door to his new home. Heres hoping its not a total dump, he half-prayed as he opened the door to his dorm room.
A slight twitch of the lips showed Yousuke relief as he saw that the room resembled nothing of the dorm rooms of the last school he was at. He was told that the dorm room was made for two people, but no one occupied the other space as of yet. He walked into the open-ish space of the kitchen/living room and nodded his approval to the residence. No longer worried, Yousuke turned toward the bedrooms. He strode up to the two bedrooms and choose the left one. Inside, after a brief scan of the room, he tossed his bags to the floor beside the bed and walked out again. "It'll do", Yousuke said to himself as he set his backpack on the kitchen table and stretched his arms.
Well this wasn't what I was expecting, he thought as he went over his arrival. When he had first arrived at the school he had made his way across the grounds without so much as a decent threat thrown at him. The school yard was mostly quiet, but hardly peacefully. There had seemed to be some sort of tension hanging in the air of the school. But yet nothing happened; he had slowly walked around all the school grounds widely unnoticed, taking note of the major buildings and areas for future reference. After almost getting lost, he had made his way to the dorms.
Yousuke frowned to himself, but this isn't what the rumors told of this place, he thought unhappily to himself. He was half-expecting broken buildings, bloodied students, constantly burning fires and other such cliche things. He had found a normal looking school, with normal looking students, participating in normal looking activities. Was everyone wrong about his place? Instead of sitting there brooding, Yousuke left his luggage in his room and made his way outside to the hallway. Hoping to find something to change his opinion of Hircine, he went looking for someone in the dorms that wasn't so..."normal".

"Dio Santo, this is a long walk...." Jonas muttered as he climbed the stairs up to his dorm. He certainly was an odd sight, wearing an old, sleeveless tank top with an open, wrinkled black shirt, letting his steel necklace hang out halfway, tied up in his redwood Crucifix necklace. Jonas was also gripping two big bags of groceries in each of his hands, both of which had their knuckles bleeding. He had tried to work out a strategy where he could go straight from the gym to the store and not look out of place in either, and this had met with mixed results; Jonas looked like he couldn't find his trailer park. Aw hell, it ain't no thing; I'm gonna get this Mountain Dew in the fridge and get to work on some cannolis... Jonas smiled to himself at the thought of all the work he had to accomplish to get the ingredients on his uncle's monthly check, an interesting task in itself. As Jonas rounded the corner, he saw a boy, about his own age, looking around aimlessly; further investigating led Jonas to see bags sitting outside an empty room... Cool, a new guy, Jonas thought to himself as he pulled out a bandanna and wiped his knuckles off, Let's try to make a good impression. "Hey man, I'm pretty sure that all those halls look the same; might save you the trouble of trying to look at all of them." Jonas called out, hoping to get a response.

(Sucks, yes. Been really busy. sry)
Yousuke was just leaving when he heard some one call out to him. Curious, Yousuke turned back to see the oddest looking person he has ever seen. The man, obviously showing off his dressing prowess, looked like he was lost somewhere between the redneck and jock look. Well he's different, thought Yousuke. But further investigation showed that he had the look of a fighter. Well, he thought, time to test the rumors, nothing against him. Walking up to him, Yousuke called back to him, barely over a murmur, "Yo".
Sighing Yousuke looked up and down the hallway, Don't want to wreck my new home as soon as I get into it, he thought. Yousuke turned back to face the unknown fighter, "Care for a friendly bit of training?' he asked, staring carefully at the guys face. Yousuke lifted his hand and pointed outside a window. "Outside perhaps?", he asked, trying to sound as courteous as possible while asking for a fight. Hopefully, he thought, he will have the time to change my opinion of this school.

"Hmmm..." Jonas muttered at the unusual proposition from the new guy. This guy seemed quite different than other students, with green streaks running down his face and a lack of tan; of course, Jonas wasn't in any position to argue about clothes. "All right, new guy, I'm Jonas "The Spartan" Vetrano, and If you'll give me a second to load these groceries into the fridge, I'll be ready." With that, he raced into his room before his adversary said anything. He only did this because he never had encountered a person who said he couldn't, and besides, Jonas wanted to make sure his cannoli ingredients wouldn't get damaged or dirty. He quickly ducked into his room and put down the groceries before walking over to his dresser and pulled out two red bandannas to wrap around his bloody knuckles. As he began to walk out, Jonas felt around his neck. "Cazzate, I almost forgot to put these away..." Jonas muttered as he reached around his neck and pulled off his steel chain. As the necklace went over his head, Jonas looked at it, an air of nostalgia in his eyes...
six months ago... New York City, New York "Lydia, where are you going sweetie?" Jonas called out to her as she turned around and walked down the halls of Jonas' old high school. "What's the problem?" Lydia turned around and looked Jonas straight in theeye. "You're the problem Jonas. Ever since you started taking martial arts up here, you've changed..." "Lydia, I'm still the same guy as before, I just have a duty to protect those who can't protect themselves..." "Oh really, 'Spartan'?" Lydia retorted angrily. "Nothing about you is the sameanymore... You're more of a serial killer now than a human... and.. and I can't love you anymore. I've found someone more human now." Those words hit Jonas like a ton of bricks, stopping his studdering and his walking in their tracks. Jonas could only stand there as Lydia moved into the arms of another man, someone called Mark Renfro. Jonas was horrified; not only was she in the arms of another man, but this guy was a burnout senior and a scumbag. "Please Lydia, don't do this to me..." Jonas said as he raced toward Lydia as she began to walk away. This seemed to annoy Mark, as he turned around and threw his fist into Jonas' face, sending him flying into the wall. "Heh heh... you heard her freak, she's afraid of you... In fact, I don't think that anyone at this school considers you important," Mark smiled menacingly, "and frankly, you're just worthless.." With that, Mark turned around and moved back to Lydia, "Some Spartan..." he muttered under his breath. Unknown to him, Jonas was pushing himself against the wall, slowly beginning to stand up, his eyes glazed with blood. All he could see was a red blur, the crowd of onlookers gazing at him and laughing, and the sight of Mark walking off with his girlfriend. It was all too much for Jonas to take. He suddenly yelled out in a furious battle cry and charged his opponent. Normally, Jonas couldn't attack an unaware opponent, but he was too blinded with rage and bloodlust to care about a "fair" engagement; besides, he had been hit first, and it was Mark's own fault for doubting him. Jonas decended on his opponent in wrath, throwing a furious hook punch to Mark's head, pinning him against the wall. Jonas then threw a thunderous barrage of kicks against Mark, who was obviously too dazed to fight back. All the students could only watch in horror as Jonas wailed on Mark, yelling out and laughing like a demon all the while; no one wanted to interfere with anyone as crazy as Jonas now. After two minutes, Jonas stopped his raging attacks and let Mark's unconscious body drop to the floor in a pool of his own blood. Jonas looked around at his defeated adversary and saw a gleam of silver on the ground. Upon closer inspection, he pulled a silver necklace, glistening with red blood. Jonas quickly slipped it into his pocket; he had always wanted a necklace, and Mark wasn't in any position to take it back. Suddenly, Jonas felt a small prick in his arm, followed by a strong blast of electricity through his body. He quickly turned around to see that a school officer had blasted him with a tazer, and Jonas was going down. In his final moments of consciousness, Jonas saw a sea of red, the terrified look of the crowd who had once laughed at his pain, and then an empty sea of blackness.
Present day I did carry somthing away from that nightmarish fight, Jonas muttered, and that was that no one should ever get that close to me again, lest that nightmare happen again... Realizing that he had dazed off a while, Jonas quickly ran out to meet his new training partner. "Sorry man, just had to wrap my bloody knuckles up. I'm ready to fight whenever you are."

(OOC: Sorry about the lateness, been home a couple hours in total this week)
Yousuke stretched out his arms and legs while waiting for Jonas to return. He had never made it a habit of walking up to strangers and asking for a fight, but somehow he felt this guy wouldn't mind. Yousuke did a check of the hallway to ensure no one would be caught in the impending fight. The hallway was a suitable enough of a place to have a nice little training exercise, but Yousuke thought, but it would be a good idea to hold back some also. Didn't want to wreck the place the day he got there. Folding his arms over his chest, Yousuke wondered what kind of opponent Jonas would be. "Hopefully he can keep up for a while and give me a good exercise", Yousuke muttered to himself.
Looking up, Yousuke saw Jonas running back from his room.
"Sorry man, just had to wrap my bloody knuckles up. I'm ready to fight whenever you are."
Yousuke, never one to waste words, merely nodded and began assuming a balanced fighting stance. He was about to give the sign to start when Yousuke noticed something different about Jonas. Jonas seemed to have a happy disposition when Yousuke had first seen him minutes ago, but now he seemed to have a far away haunted sort of look to his eyes. Yousuke was about to ask what was wrong when the look suddenly disappeared. Some-what confused, Yousuke shrugged and put his attention back into preparing himself. Emotion doesn't belong in a fight, he thought, only the clear minded have any chance of winning a fight. Finished with his preparations with his feet spread slightly apart, Yousuke kicked out with his right leg, aiming for Jonas's knees. Hopefully this will get interesting, Yousuke silently hoped.

Jonas stood in a ready stance, bobbing back and forth on the balls of his feet, poised for his adversary's attack. This was a technique that Jonas had come to use; just a good way to keep the muscles going. He quickly closed his eyes and slowly re-opened them, Jonas' favorite way to get ready for a fight. Now Jonas was no expert, but he had read a book or two on Zen, and the pitfalls of the conscious mind. Taking these to heart, Jonas was now in a new state of mind; unaware of his surroundings, but subconsciously aware of everything. Out of the corner of his eye, Jonas saw movement; it seemed his opponent wanted to try a quick attack to the legs. Without thinking, Jonas dove in, right inside his opponent's kick, and wrapped his right hand around the outstretched leg. Simultaniously, Jonas slipped his left foot behind his opponent's base leg. Everything was set; Jonas ducked his head behind his free left shoulder, and threw it into the gut of his opponent; he knew that his opponent couldn't stop himself from falling backwards now...

Yousuke knew he was in trouble the minute he saw the look in Jonas's eyes. All emotion had been erased, only purpose was left in them. He was about to dive back when Jonas suddenly lunged forward grappling him and at the same time ramming his shoulder into Yousuke's stomach. Well, Yousuke sourly as he started falling backwards, that could have gone better. With Jonas's blow getting closer, he went over his options. None of them looked promising. He berated himself for being so foolish as to launch attack so full of openings. Boxed into a corner, Yousuke did the only thing he could think of. Just before Jonas's attack connected, Yousuke twisted his body, while at the same time jerking his right leg out of Jonas's hold. Falling backwards, Yousuke swung his right leg horizontally, pushing with his knee against Jonas's back, propelling his opponent of target. With his body twisted to the side, Yousuke was able to dodge to blunt of the attack, with only his left shoulder being hit.
Yousuke came down heavily on his shoulder, but immediately began lifting himself up right, trying to not get caught off balance...again.

Heh, Not bad at all, amico*; anyone else would've been laid out with that one. Jonas smiled as he jumped back from his opponent and assumed a fighting stance. Normally, not many people would respond to a grappling move to start a fight, it just wasn't done. Of course, Jonas' knowledge of grappling was fairly incomplete, and he was still running on pure instinct now, filling in his limited knowledge with quick executions of basic manuvers. As soon as Jonas had jumped out of the way, he dove in quickly and grabbed his opponent's right leg again, this time putting it facing up between his own legs, and began to sit down slowly on his opponent's outstretched leg, right on the kneecap, against the joint. Now normally, Jonas wouldn't go for ground techniques so often, but he was intent on finishing his takedown with his favorite grappling move, yet applying it very slowly, so as not to actually break his opponent's leg. Jonas was fully aware of the strengths of many fighters and fighting styles from his training days in New York, and had come to realize they all depended on balance for power. On the ground and on their backs, most normal fighters were lost, and here was where Jonas had his chance to shine in a tight situation. "Man, you either get out of this or tap me and forfit, because I will keep applying pressure if you don't."

Yousuke had just risen to his feet when Jonas dived in to attack again. He could offer almost no resistance as Jonas put him in yet another leg hold. Still standing, Yousuke fought to regain his composure as his opponent began to apply pressure to his knee. Not again, Yousuke thought as pain began to shoot up his leg. Balancing on one leg, he quickly launched his counter-attack before his leg be put out of commission. Jonas seemed to like using grapples to through off his opponents, but in doing so, it leaves him open to attack. Letting himself fall back, Yousuke shot out his hands and caught himself, freeing up his left leg and reducing some of the pressure on his right. With his left leg free, he left his right hand holding his body up, and swung with all he had with his left leg. Twisting with what little freedom of movement he had, he arced his kick, aiming for Jonas's neck. To block the kick, Jonas would have to remove one of his hands from the leg hold, giving Yousuke a chance to break the hold.

Jonas saw the foot of his opponent coming as he continued to apply pressure, and he began to feel confused at what he was seeing. Hmm, this guy knows how to adapt fairly well to what is going on... he thought as he began to loosen his grip, preparing for his retaliation, but so do I. With that, Jonas shot his left arm under his opponent's immobilized leg and grabbed onto his own shirt; he now had one hand free to fight the leg, and the hold was still in effect. Jonas threw his free right hand out and let his opponent's kick bounce off of his elbow. He knew he would have to be able to fend those leg attacks for a little while, but he was becoming more and more sure that his opponent wouldn't break his own leg for a sparring match, and would tap out eventually.

Yousuke grimaced as the pain in his leg spread throughout his entire leg. The edges of his vision were beginning to blur, and none of his kicks were getting through. One more time, he thought to himself as he prepared another kick. Pulling back his leg, Yousuke kicked at Jonas's head again, and again it was blocked. Damn, cant get through!. he thought angrily. He spasmed as another wave of pain went up his leg. Looking for another option, Yousuke found none. Grinding his teeth, he began to raise his hand to surrender. "Well, at least I learned something", he muttered to himself. Yousuke started to bring his hand down to tap out when he got an idea. Stopping himself, he began to piece the idea out in his head. Why not try, he thought to himself as he balanced himself back on two hands. Yousuke let out a sweeping kick with his left leg, again aimed for Jonas's head. Not this time, he thought as his opponent began to raise his arm to block the blow. Just before his kick reached his opponent, he bent his leg back. With his leg bent back, his kick passed right in front of his opponent. Stopping his kick about a foot out from Jonas's left side, Yousuke straightened his leg back out and brought it down in a reversed kick aimed at Jonas's knee. His last hope was this kick. If this fails, Yousuke thought, I'm done for.

He's cracking, this is all over now... Jonas grinned slowly as he felt his arm meet with his opponent's foot as he applied pressure. Suddenly, Jonas began to hear a voice from under him, "Well, at least I learned something" his opponent began to mutter. Hearing that, Jonas began to loosen his grip on his opponent's leg. Not bad for my first fight in LA.. Jonas began to smile. Suddenly, out of his fringe vision, Jonas saw a foot coming up from his opponent. Expecting a round kick to his outside leg, Jonas quickly thrust his arm down to intercept the kick. However, his opponent's attack stopped in mid-air, and quickly changed course. Cazzate! Jonas yelled in his head as he saw the attack coming, yet had no way to stop it. Unless... Jonas quickly pulled his feet out from under him and smashed into the floor on his knees, which, hopefully, would evade the attack, and apply a lot of quick pressure.
