The hallway in front of him was empty when Shuya took the final corner in his path to the principal’s office… his old office. He seemed to be lost in thoughts as he walked the familiar route to his destination, a small pack of documents stashed underneath his right elbow, firmly held against his body. When the bombings had been a week past, Shuya had been notified that he had failed as a co-principal by allowing something like this to happen. Shuya knew who had to be behind the bombings, this wasn’t a mere student action, no claims had been made and no tone had been set… it had been a simple cleansing of the fact that the students around here had been divided into two schools. Now, it was back to one.
However, it seemed the school board hadn’t been fully disappointed in Shuya’s performances as soon after he had heard the news of him losing his job he had been contacted to fulfill a new position at the school… a position as head of the security. Shuya had told the board that he had to think about it. The job gave him a position of power, that much was certain, but he would still be underneath someone else… If the new principal took wrong or stupid decisions, it could be on Shuya’s head… Would he actually want to work for some goody ass principal that would no doubt want to do everything in his power in the best interest of the students? He had been able to cope with such a principal when he had the authority to actually change such plans… but now he wouldn’t.
It had been the knowledge of who the new principal would be that made Shuya decide he would in fact take the job. Shamino Warhen… A name that had been on his list since he had returned to Hircine. He had always planned to someday arrange a meeting with the man. During his time as principal he had even considered the possibilities of making a deal with the man that would benefit them both. However, the constant watching eye of Victoria Alexander had ensured that Shuya did not contacted him. The fact that someone like Shamino would now become the new principal was interesting to say the least… Boarding a ship with him as captain would proof not only useful but even educational for Shuya himself.
Shuya had signed the papers and taken the job. Now he was on his way to meet the new principal and discuss the different security standards that the principal wanted Hircine to have. Perhaps he would want to give the students a lot of freedom, perhaps he wanted more security staff to be around. Whatever the case, Shuya would get it done. Walking into the secretary’s office, he noticed Victoria’s secretary sitting there. It appeared that Shuya’s secretary had been kicked out as well. It didn’t matter, she recognized him and knew Shamino expected him. He continued towards the door, knocked on it and entered the office.
“Principal Warhen, my name is Shuya Katsumoto, I am here to discuss the security measurements you wish Hircine to have.”
