Word of mouth had quickly reached Tiao Lei Shen. The new Principal was Shamino Warhen, legendary Varron student.
Tiao and Darren had received files on all Varron students and their ties. Among them was a file with rather limited information on Shamino Warhen, despite the fact he had relocated to San Fransisco sometime before the Varron transfer. They had little use for majority of those files, as it was, but he remembered being intrigued by Shamino Warhen none-the-less. From what had been pieced together, Shamino was (at one point) ridiculously wealthy, well connected, and supposedly undefeated in combat.
The combination brought a rare smile to the former Pillar's lips.
Tiao Lei Shen walked towards the Administration offices. Last time he walked by here, at least in the old building, it had been to confront MacMillan. Another Administrator who could boast a similiar resume as Shamino. At least, could have, until the strangely combined effort of Darren, himself, Katsumoto, and Calloway ended him once and for all. Tiao's approach to this office today, however, served a much different purpose. No, he wasn't here to fight. That is, unless he'd have something to be gained from it.
Walking past the secretary, Tiao gave a brief nod. It was the same secretary from the old school, meaning he still wouldn't have to check in like most students. The lady was honest enough, but too meek to work in a school like this in Tiao's opinion. At least, post Darren's captainship it was. Old connections aside, Tiao Lei Shen walked into the Principal's office, closing the door behind him as he stood in front of the desk.
"You're the new principal, right? Warhen, that is."

The office was stepping into a time capsule from nineteen fifty five. Solid oak walls with matching armories, along with a table-top humidor and table lighter, adorned the matching oak desk. He looked up from his student profiles, and matching the picture to the student standing in his office, shuffled Tiao Lei Shen's papers. Shamino used his other hand to remove his cigarette, and blew the smoke towards the open window. Against school policy? Yes. Did the higher-ups give a damn? Not while Shamino Warhen was running the show.
He scanned the profile briefly once more, taking his sweet time to say a single word. Several hrms and hmm's slipped from his pursed lips. He ashed his cigarette into a crystal ashtray, and adjusted his reading glasses. "No... This is just his secretary's office, just wait until you see the actual office- it has a chocolate fountain."
The young administrator finally spoke, dropping the folder with a small whop onto a sea of others. "Yes. I'm the new principal- and you're an old student."
Shamino slipped another cigarette from his blazer's inner pocket, and lit the table top lighter- the two foot flame releasing a thick stench of burned fuels as he lit the small cigarette with the excessive fire. "You have about ten seconds to tell me why you've stepped into my office without your name being on my 'ass kicking' list, before I add it to that very same list."
He leaned back in his lay-z-boy chair, propping his feet up on the desk and admiring the pictures on the walls of his office- his old ship, his old restaurant, and an old etching of several noteable figures of history: Kazuki, the deceased Ajax, Maverik, Ein, and Shamino. All wearing their best clothes, all smiling meekly. He regarded the picture fondly for a moment, and then his eyes darted back to the Tiger.
"Seven seconds."

Shamino hadn't said anything. Not yet. Instead, he seemed to have a folder of his own, the new principal doing his homework as well. Had Tiao known it was a folder on him, he would have found the situation rather ironic. The office was different, as was Shamino's retort back to Tiao's obvious question. He wasn't surprised at it, and therefore said nothing back. For the most part, it was for formality's sake.
With Shamino's more honest reply, Tiao figured that he knew enough about him to not have to introduce himself. He wasn't all that surprised. Tiao Lei Shen's reputation often exceeded himself, just as it did with Shamino Warhen, he was sure.
The Tiger of Hircine felt an itch on the back of his neck as Shamino delivered him a deadline. A good portion of Tiao wanted very much to test that deadline. If what they said about Shamino was true, he didn't know if he would be able to beat him--not for sure--but Tiao knew for a fact that the list of those that could take him were very thin drawing close to nil. However, that thought would have to be pushed aside, at least for the time being.
"I want what you had."
Tiao started simply, keeping a neutral gaze locked in on Shamino. Tiao took a seat in the chair in front of Shamino's desk, clasping his hands and resting them on the desk, leaning forward just slightly.
"Money. Power. I want to know how. I don't care what it takes."

"...Well..."
He stopped his counting, forwards or backwards, and just locked his eyes on the figure that took a seat, came in, and demanded to mimic his life. With a thin, unreadable line acting as his lips, he shook his head slowly. "You want what I got? Alright. Watch your entire family line get betrayed in a bloody political battle, hear your only living parent dies in a war ten thousand miles away, and then go inherit his small fortune. That's how I got my money and power. I didn't earn a cent of it."
He raised a hand, waving and dismissing Tiao from his office. "The primary concern is maintaining power when you do have it. Power is far too hard to come by these days- we're in a recession, for gods sake. Don't barge into my office and ask for some get-rich-quick scheme. If you don't have a serious question, expect me to stop giving serious answers." Shamino concluded, lighting another cigarette to maintain his chain smoking.

Though inwardly Tiao Lei Shen felt a tinge of dissapointment, outwardly he displayed no change. Tiao kept a neutral gaze upon Shamino, intent on keeping from being discouraged in both appearance and reality. If Tiao let up now, he'd be at the same point than when he'd entered the room. No loss, but no gain either.
"My father's a mid-level enforcer in the triads on the west coast. The first two criteria isn't as improbable as you'd think." Tiao started, leaning back in the chair for both comfort and a show that he didn't plan on leaving the office without what he came for.
"My family has money. I've earned my own power around here, but I'm not interested in the children's game of the captainship. I have my base, I'm interested in multiplying what I have ten fold. I'm not here for hand me outs, its not what I'm about. No schemes, just formulas. I was hoping you'd be a little more helpful, or else I've just wasted both our time." Tiao tilted his head downward just slighlty, his eyes peering into Shamino's as he gave it one last try.
"Does the infamous Shamino Warhen have any useful information for me, or not?"
