Name: Sendo Takahashi
nicknames: self titled "#1 under the sun" which no one ever really calls him. His dad calls him "tiger" based off the two main systems of martial arts he practices (see below)
Nationality: Japanese Citizen; legal alien status within the U.S.
Ethnicity: Japanese
Age: 16
Class: Sophomore
Weight: 130lbs
Height: 5'7"
Body: Physically fit, but his muscles are not well defined as he does not spend a lot of time weight ligting or running. His build could be compared to that of an average recreational athlete. He has no scars or tatoos.
Cosmetic: Usuall wears t-shirts that are navy blue with no design on them. Black loose fiting jeans held up by leather belt. He always wears a rather beat up red jacket with a broken zipper so it's never shut.
Eye color: Brown
Hair: Natural dark brown and short. His hair is always messy and looks like a bird's nest. He tries to pass it off as something natural, but he actually spends quite a lot of time to make it look that way because he's under the impression it makes him look cooler...
Personality: GREATLY exaggerates feats and acomplishments. For example if he beats up some goon who tried to mugg him he will tell people he beat up three, and they were armed, and they were well trained when they weren't. In Japan his friends always believed him so he is used to telling big stories without people calling him on his phonie behavior. The reason he acts this way is because he lacks confidence and feels he needs to validate his existence through the opinions of others, despite the fact he is a rather competent martial artist. Is quiet and reserved at home (the opposite that he is in school), because he worries about his father who has difficulty walking. He never speaks of his family, because he feels like it would disrespectful to his family to bring up their troubles to someone else.
Despite being outwordly energetic and talkitive he finds it very difficult to relate to other people, so it's hard for him to make friends. This leaves him with a lonely feeling that drives him to act even more overconfident to compensate for it. He's very naive.
Habits:He's a horrible student in school and can easily become distracted, especially if you get him talking about himself ot his "accomplishments". Speaks loudly and confidently and often refers to himself as "#1 under the sun".
Hobbies: Martial arts training, hiking (likes the peace and quiet because it let's him be himself without having the need to impress others)
Extracurricular: none at this time
History:
Born in Ueno Japan in the Chiba prefecture, Sendo grew up in a rather rural area with very few people around. His father is an accomplished linguist who worked as a university professor. His mother is a housewife of a very docile nature, and he has one younger brother about 8 years old named Tanimoto.
Sendo's father was also an avid martial artist who traveled from varies dojos around Chiba prefecture and became quite skilled in several japanese martial arts. He began teaching them to Sendo when Sendo became afraid of bullies that were picking on him in middle school. Sendo became quite adapt at his martial arts practice (see below) and managed to fend off the bullies which gave rise to his exagerrated and overconfident personality.
About a year ago, Sendo's father was diagnosed with a degerative bone disease that makes it very difficult for him to move without being in intense pain. His father can only move about very slowl now with the use of a cane and must rust after every few feet he takes.
Japan is not a very open place to people who are differently abled, and as such, Sendo's father soon found himself unable to move about the university and had to retire early. He was hired by an american comapany to help with translation (as they do a lot of business with Japan), and the family moved to America.
Sendo is about to enter Hircine High and has absolutely no idea what to expect. He believes that American high schools are what movies like "American Pie" or other movies represent them to be. He will likely face a rude awakening...
Fighting Style: Sendo's combative style was taught to him by his father before he was crippled by disease. Sendo was taught the basics directly, but must now rely soley on verbal instruction from his father as his dad can not physically show him the movements anymore. This makes learning difficult. There are three fighting styles that Sendo has learned the basics of:
Koto-ryu (Knocking down the tiger school) stresses close-range fighting, including powerful strikes designed to break the enemy's bones (koppojutsu), Koppojutsu is not just about being able to crack bones, but also distupt bone alinement.
Gyokko Ryu (jeweled tiger school) is a school of kosshijutsu )attacking nerves and muscles to cause pain and set up throws or breaking techniques. This system is used well for both grappling and strikingwhere as koto ryu is used mainly for striking.
Kukishin ryu (nine demon gods school). This martial art is very old, having been established in 14th century japan. Sendo knows no unarmed fighting methods from this system and instead uses it for staff fighting and sword practice (which is unlikely to take place in this modern age). Even so, Sendo is an adequate, albiet not great staff fighter, and has a basic understanding of japanese swordsmanship.
Strengths: Sendo is in moderately good health, and has slightly above average strength for his size. Sendo has quick reflexive speed and can strike with pinpoint accuracy.
Weaknesses: Sendo doesn't care much for wieght training or running, so he basically average when it comes to these things. Send also has rather poor near sighted vision. If you are more than 3 meters away from him, you appear blurry. Still, he doesn't wear glasses or contacts because he thinks would make him less "cool" in the eyes of others. This doesn't affect his close range abilities, but he can not effectively see things that are about 10ft away from him.
