Name: Lucius Valens
Nationality: American
Ethnicity: Italian
Age: 18
Class: Senior
Weight: 210 lbs.
Height: 6'2
Appearance: A physically imposing young man, Lucius's devotion to unlocking the full potential of his God-gifted body is reflected in his rippling muscles. The fullness of his devotion to the Lord is evidenced in the ornate cross tattoo covering the whole of his back, and the accompanying scars from his years of flagellation. Lucius's taste is clothing is best defined as 'priestly': black pants and shoes, with a simple white shirt. After school, or on off-days, Lucius completes his usual ensemble with a full-length black robe, more fitting for a monk than a high school student. His raven-black hair is kept short, neat, and combed back, while cold brown eyes stare out at God's creation.
Habits: Extremely religious, refuses to swear, drink, etc. However, will not hesitate to defend his faith or halt blasphemy. Must cross himself anytime he hears the word 'God'.
Personality: Extremely judgmental and self-righteous, Lucius initially distrusts and dislikes anyone he meets. Only through a display of true faith can someone be deemed worthy of friendship.
Hobbies: Cooking, taking long walks around the city, cleaning and maintaining the church.
Extracurricular: None. Lucius doesn't have any interest in school events.
History: Born into an extremist Catholic family, Lucius learned at an early age that his body was a repository of sin which could only be redeemed through pain. As a child he was beaten for misbehaving, and at the age of seven, Lucius began to administer his own whippings. His 11 years of flagellation have left countless scars on his body and hardened his psyche into that of a true religious zealot. In contrast, his mother quickly took little Lucius under her wing, teaching the boy to cook, clean, and sew. As well, the two shared a special bond with nature, taking every chance they could to absorb the beauty of God's creation.
At 11, Lucius and his family moved to San Francisco, hoping to escape the persecution they suffered in LA after being outed by their local priest as flagellates. The Valens moved quietly into the suburbs, enrolling Lucius in public school to avoid arousing any suspicion from their new neighbours. This time, no one who refused to understand would know what they did in service to God. The young Lucius's first interactions with the majority left a profound distaste for these heathens. Prior to the move, Lucius had been enrolled in a Catholic private school, sharing the company of other believers, but now he was left with the Godless. Naturally, this feeling evolved into an overall distrust of non-Catholics, persisting to this day.
The moment he was eligible, the Valens had Lucius enrolled in Hircine High. While still disgusted with the blasphemers all around him, Lucius was happy to be put into a peaceful school. His fit body drew the attention of many coaches from the complete spectrum of sports, but Lucius always refused. With no distractions like 'friends' or 'school activities', Lucius happily devoted himself to his studies and his faith. While achieving excellent grades, Lucius also finds the time to volunteer at a local Catholic church. The eventual arrival of the Varron transfers threatened to destroy Lucius's peaceful life. After hearing what had happened in Varron City, and why these new students were arriving, Lucius's usual indignance turned to brash hatred. These children dared to think they had the right and the power to control their own fates?
Fighting Style: Self-taught grappling and brawling. Preferring to throw his foes around, Lucius will close distance rapidly, using punches to cover his advance.
Strengths: Years of flagellation have granted Lucius an incredible tolerance for pain, further bolstered by his iron body. Lucius incorporates his full ability into every attack, leaving his opponents flat after just a few attacks.
Weaknesses: His full-bore, head-on style leaves him wide open after nearly every attack, as well as slowing him down immensely.
