Name: Pinefresh Treefellow
A.K.A. Pine
Nationality: Dual Canadian and American Citizenship
Ethnicity: Anglo-Saxon/ Russian
Attended School: Hiricne High
Age: 17
Weight: 165lbs
Height: 5’6
Appearance
Body: Pine likes to joke about the way he looks by comparing himself to what a battle dwarf must have looked like. At 5’6, 165lbs he can be described as short and stocky. From previous years of Muay Thai and his more current army style training Pine is well built. From his his slightly short and thick neck, to well defined shoulders, down his strong scarred back or scarred pectorals and flat stomach, to his thighs and well defined calves Pine looks every inch the man he tries to portray. His face still carries his three combat scars which he eared at Varron during his stay there.
Scar 1: a three inch scar starting above his right eye that travels down over the eye and ends about an inch below.
Scars 2 & 3: These scars are a combination scar that created a cross-like mark. The ironic part is that both scars were delivered almost a year apart by two different people. The first scar is only about 2 inches long and not the most noticeable thing. It starts almost half an inch from the side burn on the left side of his face and takes an approximate 45 degree angle down his face toward his mouth. The second scar is long, it stretches from just beside the left corner of his eye and goes straight down to his jaw line.
His skin a rather pale and he is often called a ginger (a classification of red head) because of it. As a result his complexion is seemingly pinkish which compliments the slight freckling on his arms.
Cosmetic: Pine likes clothing that is both presentable and durable which means it is most often expensive. Levi’s Jeans are the only jeans he will wear and will never wear shorts unless working out or in gym class. The only other type of pant he wears are cargo's that have re-enforcement on certain areas to protect the pants against inevitable wear and tear.
For shirts he goes with Adidas sportswear or stuff he could find at an outdoor store.
Shoes are either combat boots or a new balance or Adidas running shoes will do.
The other things Pine wears are a silver Gothic cross, his old issued dog-tags, and a Swiss Army wristwatch.
Hair: Auburn which becomes more blond in the summer with the sun and more brown in the winter. The sides and back are buzzed to a length of one (that's what it is on a buzzer) and the top is kept at a length of no more than 3 inches allowing it to be styled.
Eye colour: A blue/green that seems to change colour to either more blue or green depending on the light.
Habits: Almost always has his Ipod on and music going.
Other information:
Personality- When it comes to personality Pine has tonnes to spare. He is an emotional roller coaster and can be anywhere from quiet reserved shy guy, to in your face screaming bloody murder at the top of his lungs while trying to pop your head off because of an unbuttoned pocket. He maintains its because he has not had a normal life for the past four years and is probably right. For the most part Pine is a good guy who is friendly and easy to approach. At first he comes off as more reserved than anything but only because he tries hard to gauge a person and their intentions before he lets his truer self show. In actuality he can carry on a conversation about almost any topic and has an opinion on everything.
Hobbies: Working out, listening to music, collecting comics, creative writing, and reading.
Extracurricular: Pine does not give a damn about happy hour after school and therefore does not participate in extracurricular's unless it is to cheer on a team.
Important details:
History- Pinefresh Treefellow, more affectionately called Pine, came from a regular middle-class family. His parents, whom he hates, are both tree loving pot smoking hippies who are full of the free love crap and everything else that is good about the world. They actually make good money selling organic produce in their corner store somewhere in Toronto. His brothers and sister still to the best of his knowledge live with his parents but does not know for sure because they refuse to talk to him. Essentially when to comes down to his family life Pine is a train wreck.
It all started the beginning of his original grade 9 year of school. Pine and his best buddies from grade school entered Lawrence Park Collegiate in hopes of getting top marks and becoming rich together. The only thing they met when they walked through the doors of school were the gang that ran everything. After a brief altercation which sent four gang members to the hospital Pine and his buddies became the school monitors of sorts. By the end of the first month of school it was clear that the gang members were getting better at fighting and the monitors would have to do the same. Muay Thai was the closest and most affordable martial art at the time and is what allowed them to hold the school for three more months. One day Pine decided to skip his first period after talking with his two buddies to get a coffee with some girl. Returning to school for his second class Pine was greeted not by his friends but by sirens. His two best friends, Jason and Robert had been killed in an altercation with several gang members.
After burying his friends, Pine learned from the police that no one would talk about what happened and without leads a conviction was slim. Apparently most of the scene was contaminated including the blood by gang members and people rushing to the aid of his friends. Stricken with grief and the belief that had he been there his friends would still be alive, Pine went looking for the gang head. Pine found him the next day and ended the boys pathetic life with a wooden baseball bat just before he sent four others to the hospital. In the end, the bat broke and the cops were able to take Pine down before anyone else was hurt or killed.
His parents immediately after hearing the news disowned their own son and were “escorted” by armed officers off the divisions property. Pine had never felt so alone in his entire life, his friends and family were gone and he had no one to turn too. That is until three days later when a well dressed woman walked into the interview room.
She told Pine that there was no way he could win this case and would most likely end up in juvenile hall until he was old enough to go to prison. At this point she offered him a way out. In the United States they had a school for students like him, a school that would reform and rehabilitate students like him. Had Pine known what it would have been like he would have told her to get lost and gone to jail. After accepting the deal he was put up for dual citizenship and all his transfer papers were set up. A month later he arrived at Varron Academy.
At first, Pine made many friends most of whom are long gone now. The first of which was a girl named Star. They both arrived at Varron at the same time and both were new it was only natural that they be drawn to each other. The next people he met were Ran and Jehovaha. Both were nice to Pine and helped him get adjusted to the school. After an altercation Star disappeared, shortly after Pine met Kai (his brother from another mother) and Bruce Gills. They introduced Pine to the darker side of Varron where the real fun was. At their side Pine fought and won. It was with them that he received 90% of the scars on his body and the first two on his face. Many of which were received in a battle where Pine, Bruce, and Kai were almost killed by a gang of angry students with weapons. Pine later saw on the news that after the school was shutdown and the grounds searched, the bodies of most of them were found. It never sat easy with Pine what they did but he was not going to turn himself in over it.
After that day Pine and Kai settled down and became less violent. Kai being a rich only child invited Pine to come live with him. A few weeks later some kids started a fight on the roof with Pine and Kai. During the fight Pine met the Jazz man Spike, and the quiet but cute Nyra. After Kai threw someone off the roof Pine met Setsuna. In truth it was an accident they met, the man Kai threw off the roof landed on top of him. From then on Kai, Spike, Nyra, Setsuna, and Pine were almost inseparable. For the first time in a while Pine felt at home and accepted but it was not meant to be.
Kai had to disappear and left Pine all his money and car. Nyra’s father tried to kill her and she disappeared. Spike was destroyed by the memory of his lost love whom haunted him. Pine has no idea what happened to him and wishes he did. Suddenly it was down to two, Pine and Setsuna. Sadly it was not meant to last. It came out later that Setsuna was being hunted by people the people that killed his family. The last scar on Pine’s face was delivered in the defense of Setsuna. Not wanting endanger his friends anymore Setsuna left with only the smallest of goodbyes.
With no one left Pine turned to Ein Gilsen and Genaht for acceptance. Pine immediately shot up the ranks and was one of Ein’s top men. It was here Pine met a boy called the Alkaiser who was much like him. With Genaht at his back Pine turned the tables in the fight for control of the school. He chose to side with one Loire and backed the watchmen when the nameless mass and the hand came. With the school shaky but secure it was Ein who ordered Pine to lead an assault on the school in an attempt to restore order. It was here Loire and Pine came head to head in a battle of wills when Pine infiltrated the watchmen ranks with a ring in order to confront Loire.
Shortly after the school was shutdown and Pine was shipped back to Canada to attend Aarondale Military Academy. In his first week Pine was attacked and spent the next week in the infirmary. It seemed that some of them knew about Varron and wanted to test him out. Lucky for Pine he failed the test or he would be undoubtedly dead by now. His year at Aarondale was murder. Getting up at 0400hrs for P.T. (physical training), whatever it was they considered breakfast at 0600hrs, inspection at 0645hrs, classes from 0800-1200hrs, then something they considered lunch then classes from 1300hrs-1600hrs classes, dinner 1630hrs, P.T. 1800hrs, free time from 2000-2300hrs and repeat five times a week. Weekends were basic soldiering skills and remedial which meant P.T. four times a day and combat training the rest of time time. Pine was gratefull they got Sunday afternoon off to do whatever they wanted at 1600hrs at least this way the students could pretend they had a life.
Pine was slotted to be there another two years when he was released to go about his studies elsewhere. The paper says good behavior, but the real reason is a secret Pine would like to hold above a certain Dean. Pine immediately tracked down the former Varron students to Hiricine high and packed his bags for the U.S. coast and his new life at Hiricine.
Fighting style- Pine uses predominantly the Muay Thai he can remember and the CQC (close quarters combat) training he learned in the Academy. The Muay Thai Training is where Pine gets his long to mid-ranged fighting abilities. All his elbows, kicks, punches, knees and overall fighting stance are adopted from this martial art. It is the fighting style he is most comfortable using and allows him to fluidly switch from far to mid-ranged attacks with ease. CQC is for close-ranged combat only. It was created by NATO to give soldiers an edge over their opponents should a fire fight come to blows. It is essentially a mix of techniques from different martial arts such as Kali (knife fighting), free style wresting, ju-jitsu, etc. It focuses on grabs, locks, throws, gouges and the very unsportsmanlike conduct one would use to win in a life or death match. Though he has yet to integrate both fighting styles together he is still able to use each one effectively as needed.
Strengths: Pure knowledge of combat gives him an advantage over his opponent. The army taught him how to react calmly in high pressure situations which eliminated his problem of being easily guided by attacks. His close quarters knowledge in both Muay Thai and combat training mean if he can get within close range of a bigger opponent he could more effectively neutralize the threat. A high level of endurance allows him to take the edge off his handicap due to lower movement speed.
Weaknesses: His size makes it difficult to fight a far larger opponent due to reach restrictions. Is distracted by outside influences if they exist (eg/ one of his friends in the middle of a fight at the same time). His build slows him down and a much faster opponent could be problematic.
