It had only been a few days that Xian had discovered about her prgnancy and she was already trying to learn as much as she needed to know about what to expect for the next months to come. But even as she tried to learn on her own, she knew she wouldn't be able to. Plus Xian's aunt lived still back in the city of Varron and would not come down just for anything, and the soon to be mother was afraid of explaining to her dear aunt about her 'accident'. So who else could she talk to about all happened? And that was when Xian thought about it.
"Ran!" she decided aloud. Of course Ran. She WAS her best friend and they told each other almost everything so what was the problem? The two girls trusted each other like sisters and they both understood each other well. So Ran would be the one to talk to about. Xian needed help through out her pregnancy and all so why not? She was sure that she would help, though of course Xian expected a long speech of how stupid she was to not use protection or something of that sort, but it was worth it if she would get her help afterwards.
So Xian texted her friend on her pink cell phone to let her know that she was comming over and after getting a text message back stating that it was alright, Xian left the house and closed the door behind her. As she walked though she typed up another message,
When I come over, I have something important to tell you. Please don't freak out when you hear it though....
She then sent it and continued to walk on to her friend's home. After about fifteen minutes though she reached the home of Ran Ling Xiao and Dain Gavyns. Xian walked up to the door, nervous of course and kncocked, awaiting Ran to open the door and let her in so she could tell her her problem.

Sleep. A nice little nap never hurt anyone, and Ran seemed really tired lately. The reason why? Actually, she wasn't sure...maybe because school was wearing her out. It was quite a change and all and having to fend herself off every now and then was taking it's toll. Of course, Ran wasn't in her own bed, rather, on the couch where just beside her head was her cellphone. Undoubtable she had dropped it as she fell asleep.
Her eyes snapped open wide then, where a certain ring-tone came on loudly, indicating she had received a text message. Her heart began to race and she shot herself up with a gasp. After collecting herself, she turned and stared at her phone. She silently cursed whoever suddently sent her a message, feeling a tad grumpy from being suddently awakened. "Who the heck is it...?" she mumbled, picking up the small pink phone, though it's design not quite like that of Xian's. There was a small black cat charm hung from the phone as well, just to add a tab bit more of girly cuteness.
She pressed at the buttons with her thumb, seeing it was from Xian. She read the message and replied then put her head back down. "I'm still tired..." she whined a bit, rubbing her eyes and giving out a yawn. "She sure picked a funny time to come over."
The music played again and after reading the message, she became much more serious. "Something important...And don't freak out? Now I know I will..." she whispered, getting up, leaving the phone on the couch where it once lay.
After a while, Ran heard a knock on the door. She quickly made her way to the door and opened it, looking at Xian a little worriedly. "Come in." she said simply, giving her space to enter the home. After Xian entered, Ran pushed the door closed with her foot and walked over to the couch, taking a seat and hoping Xian would do the same. "So...what's up?"

The door opened and Ran Ling was now in Xian's view as she held the door open for Xian to walk through. Xian walked inside, looking at Ran and seeing a worried look. 'I think I just shouldn't have sent that last text...now she's all worried about me....' she thought as she made herself at home by sitting on the couch right next to her dear friend. And now that Ran asked the question, it was now time to explain what had happened recently. But where to start? It was definately something she should have thought through before actually comming over. But almost everyone knew that Xian wasn't one to plan things or if she did, not very well.
"Well...oh where do I start?" she said as she thought some more. There was a fairly long silence between the two girls but Xian still didn't know where to begin. So she would start where ever she could. No matter how strange or how direct it sounds. So the Chinese girl took a deep breath and finally said it. "See, Maverik and I sort of had an accident....and now....we're going to have a baby..."
There! She finally said it! It was now off her chest. Xian felt so much better after that though soon enough felt a little worried and frightened about hearing how Ran Ling would think of it. Of course she would probably start her little, or sometimes long, speech. Firstly it would probably include negative things and then after a lot of talking, it would probably more possitive. But who knew, Xian could easily be wrong, she had been wrong many times in the past, so what kept her from being wrong in the future or present? But it was always best to expect the worse so that if it came, you would be prepared for it, thus why Xian expected it very soon. Plus how would Ran take the news of her best friend being pregnant at only nineteen? And Xian couldn't have an abortion for she was againsts them and would feel like she was killing her and Maverik's baby and it would not be fair for him if he did want to keep it. He was happy when he heard that she was to have his child, though then again, he seemed a little different when they had gone home. Xian shooed that thought away, she would not let a little behaviour change her mind about anything. She was going to have this baby and that was final.

Ran sat there, her expression not seeming to change after being told the big news. In fact, it was almost like someone had pressed a pause button on her. Her eyes then began to widen, her right hand lifting towards her own face slowly. She chuckled a little, shaking her head. "You're kidding right?"
She stared at Xian who didn't seem to motion this was a prank, and in fact she was dead serious. Ran's jaw draw dropped and stayed silent for a while. She was silent. "Oh my God!" It was said almost like a jolt of energy had suddently benn released in her. She slapped Xian's cheek, not harshly but enough for it to pinch. She didn't mean anything bad by it, it was almost like she was reassuring herself that she wasn't dreaming right now. Who knew? She could of had fallen back to sleep, right?
"Wow. This is quite something." she said in an odd tone, forcing herself to calm down. "And you are so young..." she added. Frankly, Ran didn't think it any of her business. Her own mother had a child at 19, so it wasn't her place to judge. However she was a little worried on how this would affect Xian and Maverik's lives. 'Babies are a lot of work. I above all others know that for certain...with all my siblibgs and stuff' Ran thought.
"Xian, I just wanna know...do you think you are ready for a baby?" Her hand was placed gently on Xian's shoulder, in a comforting manner. She was sure Xian would never want to do an abortion, but Adoption was another way. Ran didn't think Xian would go for that either though... It was hard to think of things to say at the moment. Ran wasn't about to be the 'Mother' of the situation, blabing about protection and how stupid it was for her to forget, contrarily to what Xian probably thought. All Ran could really do is be a friend and be there for Xian no matter what.

Xian watched Ran as she tried to soak in the truth. It was hard for anything to believe really, so Xian coudn't blame her friend. Xian WAS still very young, only nineteen to be exact but she couldn't do anything about it. What was done, was done. And even if she even considered adopting or doing an abortion, she would most likely change her mind at the last second. She couldn't kill a child and she didn't want to give away a child that she brought to the world. She and Maverik made this baby and it would be she and Maverik whom would raise it. As Ran asked her question, Xian's figure only showed pure seriousness. But she did not reply, what could she say? She said all that was to be told anywhom.
Of course, Ran took it better then she had expected, a little shocked at first but she soon settled down a little. But Xian should have seen the slap come along. As it hit her face, it was at first a little numb but as she brought a hand to her face to rub her cheek, she realised that it stung a little. The soon to be mother blinked a few times, looking at Ran to see what she would do next. "Ow.." she said with barely any emotion. It didn't really hurt anyway, it just pinched a little.
"Heheh..." Xian laughed nervously. She had no idea what to say to Ran so she felt fairly lost in thought.
Xian then looked down at her feet, not sure what to answer. She had to be sure that she was ready for it, but really, she wasn't sure at all. She knew how babies were a lot of work and Xian hadn't been around a baby since she was six. After that, her sisters were then children themselves and were old enough to do things more independently then a baby could. So Xian was in deep water.
"I...I don't know....but I will have to be ready. I'll prepare as much as I can before it's born. I haven't been around babies since I was a pre-schooler, so I don't know what to expect. But, I'll see if I can get people to help me out so I can get the hang of it." Xian explained. "You will help me? Right, Ran?" she asked with a look that was begging. Xian knew that Ran was surrounded by many sibblings of many different ages, so Ran would be able to help a little with her baby. Plus someone had to prepare her before it was born and Xian was certain that Ran would be perfect for the job, though that would only be if she acepted of course. Even through all that was going on, Xian was mostly happy and felt better having Ran's hand on her shoulder, it let her know that she cared and was always there for her.

"Only if you promise to name 'im Dain," a familiar, much more masculine voice sounded out as Dain Gavyns, owner of the particular apartment the two girls were conversing in, walked out into the living area. He was wearing a pair of tearaway sweatpants and no shirt, his toned physique somewhat glistening, with little beads of water still barely trickling down. In his hands was a white towel, furiously toweling off his long hair as he spoke. It was fairly obvious from the looks of things the young man had only very recently emerged from the shower.
Taking a seat on the arm of the nearby La-Z-Boy, recently moved from his old apartment in Varron, Dain grinned over at the girls.
"Am I, um... interrupting?" He asked, only halfway sincere, eyeing first his girlfriend, then the girl's best friend, and lady-friend to a man Dain was quickly learning to call 'friend' as well. He'd heard enough from his walk to the living room from his bathroom. There wasn't much else TO hear, as far as Dain understood. The girl had a little accident, maybe the rubber broke, maybe something else, Dain didn't know and sure as hell wasn't going to pry. Either way, one simple fact remained, and that nineteen-year-old girl standing in his living room was, in about nine months' time, going to bring life into this world; or at least, that was the supposed plan.
In this day and age, one never really knew what was going to happen to a baby until they finally popped out of the womb.
"Cuz seriously, if you'd rather make this one an A-B conversation, I can just C my way out, head out to Club Legion. I think I need to let the rest of the world know I finally decided to show up here in San Fran. Your call, ladies."
Dain smiled, much more sincerely this time, and continued to towel the wetness off his head.

Ran didn't look back as she heard the all too familiar voice of her boyfriend, cutting in before Ran could respond. Of course, it seemed that Dain always had something amusing to say, and Ran was always so easily amused. She gave a few giggles before eyeing Xian and shaking her head no to the "Call 'im Dain" part. Dear God, she could just imagine the grin on his face if Xian and Maverick named their son Dain, supposing it was a son of course.
Ran finally turned to look at Dain, sitting on the arm of the La-Z-Boy, blinking in surprise to see he hadn't put a shirt on. Not that Ran was complaining though. She smiled softly and shook her head a little, "Pshh yeah you are intruding! Git outta here you!" she said in false anger whilst shaking her fist, sticking out her tongue to further indicate she was joking. "I see no problem with you staying here. But, of course, it's Xian's call. You gonna let the third letter stay?" She turned her head and glanced at Xian, giving her head a tilt. Something told her that Xian wouldn't mind, maybe it was because Ran and Xian were similar in some ways. Or maybe it was just because Ran knew Xian rather well. In any case, Xian was pretty easy going and she was sure she could trust Dain. He did, afterall, save them from Kvist when Xian was at the hospital.
After Xian's reply, may it have Ran need to say Goodbye to Dain or letting him stay in their company, Ran would go on to ask, "So, speaking of names, thought up of any?"

Xian had not known that Dain was home that day and she kind of assumed that he had gone for the day but she was wrong. It didn't bother her of course, but Dain had a thing for making her laugh even when it was a serious time. Of course Xian was all serious about the whole baby thing and such but as soon as Dain came in and said what he had to say, Xian had to bring her hands up to herface to hold in the laughter.
But she could not talk for a while until she managed to hold in the laughter. "I'll think about it Dain." she replied.
The Chinese girl giggled a little. She didn't mind if Dain stayed around. It's not like her pregnancy was a secret and he obviously knew about it now. "I have no problem. We can let the letter C stay here with us." she said, looking at Ran once again.
'A name? Wow...I've been so busy trying to learn about babies that I really haven't thought about that.....A name....hmm...I guess I'm not even sure...It would also help if I knew what sexe my baby is going to be....' she thought, a finger under her chin as she thought.
"No. No, I guess I haven't found one just yet. I've been so busy trying to get ready for the baby that I don't even have a name in mind yet. Heheh." she laughed. "Oh well, I guess I can always buy one of those books with baby names. Then Maverik and I can make a final decision. Though I'll have to find a name for a boy and a girl just for in case." she explained. "Unless you want to help me of course."

"I'll help you if you want, but, don't you dare buy a stupid book for names." Ran said humourously. "Honestly Xian, that money should be spent on preparing for the baby. You can just look through the internet for baby names if you must. I...I FORBID you to buy such a book." She smiled softly and stood up, walking into the kitched and taking a bottle of water. "Can I get either of your something?" Ran called ourt, taking a few drinks of water. After their response, she'd return with whatever they asked her (if anything) and then settole herself back down.
She brought the water bottle to her lips again, taking a few more gulps of the strawberry flavoured liquid. That's all she'd been drinking lately. Flavoured water. "Xian, you really SHOULD let me meet this lover of yours." Ran began then, almost out of the blue. "You already are expecting a child and yet I've never even met this man." She gave a fake pout before settling her closed bottle at her feet and leaning back on the couch, arms crossed.
'Maverik...Maverik....gosh that name sounds familiar. I've probably heard it from someone before.' she thought trying to match a face with the name. Her memory was horrible, so it was no doubt that after being told some detail about him she'd at least remember him for being the student dean. However that thought had escaped her and she sat there wondering.
