Paragon Institute The Track Thursday Afternoon,5:00 PM
Go!
Ayal threw himself out of the starting blocks, feet flying as he ran off the line. His feet thundering, Ayal sped up, faster and faster, untill he made it down the one hundred meter line. As soon as his combat boots touched the line, Ayal dug his heel into the pavement and spun around, making his mad dash back to the starting line.
Ayal had always had a passion for running. Back home in Israel, Ayal had learned to run before he could walk, Rabbi Costa joked. That joke definitely seemed to make sense for Ayal, because no matter where he was, what he was doing, or who he was competing against, Ayal always had to be faster. The worst part, though, was that Ayal had no idea how it happened either, nor how to stop it, and it did tend to get on people's nerves. While this did annoy him, this constant competition did produce some amazing results for Ayal, especially in the field of running.
The minute Ayal hid the starting line again, his feet turned back, and he eyed the one hundred meter line quickly.
Too easy, let's step it up!
Ayal's face, tightened with determination, dashed back toward the line, legs smashing against the ground as he made his way back down the track. However, once Ayal hit about the halfway mark, he skidded quickly on his heels and made a quick turn towards the bleachers, eyeing them curiously. Ayal dashed toward them, bounding up the rows with demonic speed.
At last, Ayal touched the top of the stadium, his eyes burning with wild fire. However, Ayal did not stop there; Ayal bounced off of the top of the stadium, down onto the field below, his face a mask of perfect cool as he flew down, feet bracing for impact with the field below. The minute he touched down, Ayal ducked his body and rolled, turning the downward impact into a forward roll and forward acceleration. Ayal rolled, ran for a stretch back toward the starting gate, and caught his breath.
That was all right, But it could always be better. Ayal said, standing upright and eyeing the track. Suddenly, he heard a footstep behind him and he turned quickly, his hands up, ready to fight.

Karrick wandered around the school grounds aimlessly as he explored the school. Seeing the moldy yellow field goals, Karrick decided to see if anyone was at the track and field. 'It could be a nice place to practice if it is empty;' Karrick thought to himself while a small smile formed.
Going up to the chain link fence he looked over the area. The field was not as lush as it had been since the season of winter started, but yet it still was a healthy looking green. The track itself was black asphalt and Karrick could see someone lining up. Resting his arms on the fence as he placed his chin on top of his right forearm. His green and black jacket made a nice cushion for his chin.
Soon the figure was off running and it was rather fast, the figure's mad dash needless to say intrigued Karrick. Karrick grinned happily as the figure made it back to the starting line fast enough to arouse Karrick's competitive side. Pulling himself from the fence, he made his way inside, and started walking toward the starting line. The figure was no longer on the track though. The sound of aluminum thunder reached Karrick's ears as he saw the student fly up the bleachers. To Karrick's surprise the figure didn't turn around to descend back down the bleachers. Springing into the air the figure leaped off the bleachers and disappeared from Karrick's vision for a moment.
His grin now gone at having lost his target Karrick jogged a bit to see where the person had gone when he reappeared a couple of seconds later back at the starting line. Something looked odd about the student though and then it Karrick like lightning. Karrick grinned madly as he remembered the name 'Ayal Nissim!' Karrick approached Ayal from behind with his silly little grin on his face when all of sudden Ayal spun around with his hands up.
Karrick laughed and send in a rather loud voice, "I hope your hands are not as quick as your feet Ayal or I might be in some trouble." Karrick's smile slowly faded as he offered his hand, "You still remember me, right?" Karrick eyed up Ayal up and down. "You sure are fast, but how fast are you?" Karrick had a gleam in his eye as he took his jacket off and tossed it to the side. Wearing a plain red t-shirt Karrick motioned to the starting line. "You game?"

Ayal looked back up at Karrick, his eyes still wild and powerful, echoing his strength.
"Ah, Karrick, It is good to see you well..." Ayal stated, matter of-factly as always. "Running for me has never been a matter of competition without an opponent anyways."
It was true; Ayal always enjoyed running by himself, but it was only in the presence of someone else that a deep-seated desire worked in his brain to go faster, push harder, WIN! The sound seemed to echo in his head and pulse through his body, the voice of Ayal's competitive drive taking over, leaving his tactical mind in the dust. This was a trait his Krav instructors had encouraged in Ayal, and as such, he not only acknowledged his demons, he welcomed them with open arms.
"Of course, I was originally here for training. If we are going to run, I need to use it to my advantage." With that, Ayal stretched his arms out and checked his military watch. "Yes, it is 1800, Thursday; I can either work bursts or endurance..."
With that, Ayal turned to Karrick.
"Alright Karrick, I'll give you a choice; I've already run my regular distances in sprints, so I want to try something a little different..."
"You can either run with me in a game me and my gang used to play in Israel; it's a race of sorts. We both run laps around the track, starting at the same time; when one person stays ahead of the other for 5 seconds, the race is his."
"Your other option is a race through obstacles," Ayal gestured over at the school. "We free-run around the school, each following the other's moves untill one of us cannot accomplish it; you miss three moves, you lose."
Ayal gestured over toward Karrick, "It's your call."
OOC: If you do the free-run deal, I'll make us a new thread in the school; it'd probably be more appropriate there

((OOC: Sorry for late reply. Tis the season to be time consuming and sorry for it being short.))
Karrick cracked a sly grin when Ayal sounded like he was going to accept his offer of a race. Then Ayal posed an interesting an idea on how to race. To be honest Karrick loved both ideas since they were new to him. He never had raced against somebody in either kind of race. Karrick’s arm came up to his neck as his right index finger tapped his chin. Tapping a rhythm out he wondered for a moment on which race to choose.
Karrick slowly dropped his hand after he had thought of which idea interested him more. With a wide grin he said, “Why don’t we try the free-run around the school? It sounds a lot like playing P-I-G or H-O-R-S-E with a basketball.” Karrick went over and picked up his jacket to put it back over his slim frame. “So where are we going to start, conductor?” Karrick said as his eyes scanned the school.

"Not here, that's certain." Ayal stated, looking around at the surroundings. Essentially, the only free-standing structures here were some fences and the bleachers; maybe the football goal posts if he was ambitious. This was nothing Ayal knew he could work with because there was, for the most part, nothing he had ever seen before; in Israeli streets, there were never any trees to practice on.
Besides, Karrick had challenged him; it seemed only right that he chose the arena.
"We'll take this to the school itself." Ayal stated, looking around, "It's late enough people won't be in crowds around it, but still bright enough to get in a good match."
With that, Ayal jogged toward the school, stretching his arms as he went. He motioned for Karrick to follow him.
"If i'm starting, you better be ready to keep up."
OOC: and I believe this thread is closed now, if there's no objections. The continuing thread will be in Paragon, titled "Concrete Coliseum (Karrick, Open if relevant). I made it open only if someone would have a legitimate purpose in being at the school after hours.
