((That fight you always wanted, Aden...))
This school is strange.
After a few days here, Tae couldn't help but notice something about this school. There were fights. Lots of them. That's not to say fights shouldn't break out in High School - they shouldn't, but they do. However, Tae couldn't help but feel that this was a bit too much. In Korea, this didn't happen much - and he had come from a bad school.
But there seemed to be catalysts. For example, the teachers actually hitting the students when they misbehaved or something. Even more amazing - students would fight back. However, more often than not, the students were overpowered. Perhaps it was the possibility of attaining that "cool factor” that drove these kids to rebel.
This is a strange country you've brought me to, Grandpa, Tae thought as he walked down the hall, his hands in his pockets. Every now and then, his Forces squeaked against the linoleum, causing a head or two to turn, then turn away. I wonder when I'm going to get into a fight, he thought, half-itching to get into one. How did American kids stack up against Korean ones? The easiest way to find out would have been to simply attack someone to attract the attention of the do-gooders, or heroes. But Tae wasn’t one to do such a thing. He needed a reason.
He found one.
Two men walk into a bar. What happens? With a small smirk, he walked towards two boys walking side by side down the hall. Opting not to go around them, he kept his head down as if he wasn’t watching where he was going. Holding his breath, he walked in between them, clipping their shoulders, and causing them to stumble. “What the hell was that, asshat?!”
“Watch where you’re going.”
“Watch where you’re going,” Tae echoed, wondering what it meant. Look, go… Hrm. The boys must have taken it as Tae mocking them, because the smaller of the two rushed him, shouldering him in the small of his back and sending him flying forward. Ow! Wow! American kids were quite strong. But Tae was hardly done. Picking himself up with hardly a grimace, he turned back towards the kid, who was coming at him again. Barely concealing his grin, Tae walked over to an unlocked locker and waited for the kid to get-
Bang! Tae suddenly opened the door, putting a wall between himself and the projectile. The door shook violently, as if it were about to break off its hinges. Fortunately, such a thing didn’t happen. The kid merely fell back, holding his head.
