OOC: Varronites are allowed to crash but, I don't reccomend it.
"Finally." Taj said in relief as he stood in the middle of the store's basement.
Taj stood in the center of his basement, arms proudly crossed looking at the basement. He was definately proud of himself for the orginzation of the party. The proper advertisement was done, as he made flyers and put them all over school grounds, EVERYONE KNEW ABOUT THIS THING. He was sure about it, Hircinians and Varronites alike.
"I still don't know how I convinced them to let me use this place."
"Yeah man, ain't your pops muslim or some shit?" The DJ asked as he set up his turntables on some upside down crates.
"Yeah, both of them man. I just had to remind them that people are gonna buy shit from the store." Taj replied.
"Yo this shit is going to be crazy, I hope you can hook me up with some bitches Tajie." The DJ said jokingly.
"I don't know Deej, you might be too ugly." Taj responded.
A tall musclar man with a blue kufi came stomping down the stairs, carrying a huge speaker.
His eye's opened wide as he realized what Taj did to the place.
"Tajie......what in Allah's name..." Hakeem said in shock.
"Don't worry dad, it's just a couple of murals I did to give this place a little favor. Think of it as party decorations." Taj said nonchalantl as he took the speaker from his father making a huge grunting noise as he did.
"I'll go get the other speakers." Hakeem said as he ran up the stairs.
"Yo your dad is diesel." The DJ said surprised.
"Yeah man, the pen does that to you, he's hard as a rock man; No emotions at all."
As Taj said this, Hakeem came bumbling down the stairs with another rather large speaker, and Taj took it from him, placing it on the other side of the DJ's turntable.
"Yo this party is gonna be BUMPIN' " Taj said, pumped with excitement.
"Be right back Yo I gotta put the posters in front of the window." Taj said as he ran upstairs with a rolled up posted tucked under his arm.
As he taped up on the window he read what it said." MUKURO DELICASSTEN: HOME OF TAJ'S HIRCINE JUMP - OFF " of course it was in a Graffiti like font.
Taj then made a mental checklist of the supplies he had.
1. Store Basement: Check 2. DJ: Check 3. Secret stash of Alchohol behind the DJ's turntable: Check 4. Food upstairs: Check 5. Actual people at the party.....Well we're just going to have to wait for that won't we.
And with that Taj stood in front of the store anxiously waiting for his first guest.

Valencia wasn’t a fan of parties. Valencia didn’t like loud parties. And Valencia didn’t like loud parties because they’re painful on the ears, insane vibrations drive her nuts, and typically, all over her other senses are offended by foul body odor, nasty refreshments, and sights that you don’t want to see with sore eyes. So why was Valencia here? Who in gawd’s flippin’ name knew. That was the problem with this Vietnamese “blonde”. Whenever it had to do with her school in any sort of way, she was just THERE. Like… If you took a random picture of some crowded hallway, odds were that you’d have a ball playing “Where’s Waldo?” searching for this girl and her casual, yet vacant expression. For instance, now. Right here. Outside of some… Establishment. She blinked her slate gray eyes and thought to herself in the safety of her mind…
Why do I have this feeling that me standing here is a cruel act of fate?

Taj squeezed through the crowd of people he never remember seeing in school. Chances are the some no name Varronites had the balls to come to this party and even managed to sneak in. At this point Taj didn't care though. The party had started, the DJ's Jammin', and the refreshments have been served. As he tunnled his way through the crowded basement, Taj saw a girl, who looked like she just came to this party just to come. He decided to welcome her, Taj style.
" Some party eh?" Taj said casually he stared at her with a bored look on his face.
"This Taj guy I've been hearing about sure knows how to give you a headache. This music is WAY too damn loud." Taj said, implying that he wasn't actually Taj.
[Considering how large the school is, I'm certain that the majority of the people here may not know me. I'd rather talk to this girl as a random person, that way she can't form an biased opinion about me yet.]

How’d I get into the basement…?
Actually, that’s a good question that the whole lot of us would like to know, but the world works in mysterious ways and it’s best to not question them. Anyways, Valencia somehow ended up in the basement as stealthily as some would describe wraiths and she was about to turn and leave when someone approached her. Now, Valencia wasn’t an antisocial. She talked when she felt like it and befriended when she felt like it, so if anyone bothered to follow her around for at least a week, they’d be surprised as to how many friends she actually has. But that sort of exposition aside, it ought to be easy to figure out that Valencia knew a few things from here and there from the grapevine and it was only a matter of if she paid any attention to it or not. In short, if Valencia heard the name “Taj”, she’d vaguely recognize it, but not really know heads or tails about the individual as an individual so to speak. Back to the present, Valencia stared right through the dark-skinned person who talked to her and murmured back…
“This Taj guy I’ve been hearing about might get his spleen pickled and his innards spooned out with a bottlebrush if I ever find him on a bad day.”
…But of course, such murmurings would be hard to discern over the crazy-loud din, so she might as well instead be saying…
“Tell me about it.”
Leaving… Now… Out…

“Tell me about it.”
Taj chuckled a bit. He found it quite amusing that such a girl who seemed quite anti-social in a way, decided to come to his party. He began to size her up. Judging by her face, she was definitely Asian. But, something wasn't right...
[Blond?]
It was clear she dyed her hair, but this really wasn't the time to think about such things. The loud music pulsated through the basement as his fellow classmates indulged in dancing and drinking.
"If I'm around this music any long my ears are gonna start bleeding, come on let's get some air." Taj said nodding toward the door.

“If you say so.”
…Valencia responded when the stranger suggested they go elsewhere. Anywhere but here was fine by her because she knew hardly anyone here but herself. The whole atmosphere made her ill and it was the whole stereotypical party-you-see-in-stupid-teen-movies aura that was bugging her. Few things ever went right in those kinds of movies, but then again, she often watched and starred in the films where some kick-ass villains crashed the parties. And a gunfight or something would break out and the heroes had to find a way out while under fire--A spark jolted in the inner workings of her mind as she clicked two wires together and figured something out… And it wasn’t pleasant.
Door… This door better lead “out” or I’ll have to get rowdy… This is the basement, right…? The last thing I want is for my chastity to be robbed during a stupid, silly event such as this.
So wherever this person was leading her better be good for both of their sakes.

Kurohyou was leaning against the outside of the building in the alleyway, drinking from a glass root beer bottle, and feeling the rumbling of bass against the wall of the small corner store coming from the basement. He sighed and shook his head as rowdy teenagers, people of his own age group, entered and exited the party carrying bottle and cans of alcohol and just plainly making fools of themselves. With the state of the people inside, I wouldn't be surprised if Varronites decided to crash the party... No one would be able to defend themselves. and with that thought, he again sighed and shook his head, taking another swig of his root beer.
He stood relatively close to the door leading downstairs to the party watching everyone who passed through to see whether or not they were from Hircine, acting as a pseudo-bouncer for Taj's, the Kaiser's, party. He didn't much care for his hearing to be taken away from him and nor did he want to be rubbed up against by drunk people, so he calmly stood outside and waited for someone or something interesting to come by; it was inevitable that something like that would happen if allowed the timeframe to do so.
Eventually, he heard a familiar voice coming up the stairway to his right followed by another pair of footsteps. The steps were hard to recognize over the vibrations and strong beats coming from within, but the hollow area below the planks obviously used for storage space made a good voice to talk to after having become used to it. He simply waited for the people to emerge.

“If you say so.”
Taj laughed at Valencia. She was quite uncomfortable at the party. It made him wonder why she decided to come in the first place. Taj began to lead her up the stairs and into his parent's store. He waved to his mother, and nodded to his father as he led the out-of-place girl outside. He watched as reckless teens rushed through the store into the basement.
[At least they aren't messing up the store.]
At that moment one rowdy teenager bumped into chip rack knocking a few chips over.
[Well they aren't messing it up THAT much.]
Taj gave the student a piercing glare as he began to pick up the chips. His father came forward and bent down next to him, grabbing his wrist as he began to pick the chips up.
"Don't worry about it son, I'll take care of it," His dad said with a calm voice.
"Thanks pops." Taj said with a smile.
He turned around and looked at the girl, grinning, and made his way outside. The cool air hit him like a ton of bricks. It felt good, it wasn't as dense and as smelly as the basement. He sat on the bench outside of the store and noticed Kiyoshi. He vaguely remembered the face, but didn't want his cover blown so he acted as if he had never seen the guy.
"So, I take it you go to Hircine eh?" Taj said to Valencia.

In this wonderful world, there was this thing called “irony”, which was typically something unexpected, depending on how you categorized it. In this case, you can call this “situational irony” if you’re loose about it. Maybe the purpose of Valencia being here simply didn’t reveal itself yet. The world worked in mysterious ways, after all; insert amazed “ooo’s” and “ah’s”~ She followed after Taj and the very second they left the set of stairs and returned to the “real world”, Valencia felt her senses return in a wave of shock that gave her a tingling sensation similar to those occasions where you slam a numb or sleeping limb against something. Though most of the feeling was gone, it was technically still there and it’ll come ‘round in a while. She just looked on as a nutsy teen created a small mess in the store and would’ve helped if the owner didn’t tell them that it was quite alright. Her ears picked up something and her perceptive nature did the rest.
“Son” and “pops”, eh? So… This might be the Taj guy that I’ve been hearing about…
Bravissimo, mademoiselle! Now in the case you want to let loose some misplaced rage, there he is! But no, Valencia decided against making a scene and moseyed on after the fellow as they made their exit. Once they were outside, she finally recovered from her shock and could sense all sorts of things like she always could. She took note of whatever changed since the last time she was outside of the party and noticed someone standing around. This was when Taj asked whether she went to Hircine or not.
Next person who interrogates me with this question will get hurt, I swear…
“Considering that I saw the flyers advertising this event littered all over the school grounds, I believe you can figure out the rest.”
Well, THAT ought to answer the question…

A kid ran past Kuro into the store and then into a rack of chips, Kuro turned quickly, about to throw the kid back out into the street, but the owner and Taj came out of nowhere and dealt with the matter. All Kiyoshi could do was shake his head and sigh as he usually did at his general distaste for those he considered lesser. But what was this? A young lady followed Taj out of the basement and through the store to the front of the building where Kuro was loitering. How could what appeared to be a fairly attractive senior be interested in a freshman such as Taj? There had to be some kind of ulterior motive behind her following so complacently behind this goof. Kuro simply turned and put his back against the wall again and eavesdropped on the conversation to take place.
"So, I take it you go to Hircine eh?" says Taj. A simple and fairly regular question to ask as an icebreaker. But this girl was a firey one.
"Considering that I saw the flyers advertising this event littered all over the school grounds, I believe you can figure out the rest." said she, a completely cold and somewhat pompous thing to say; albeit completely in the right and quite fair on her side of things.
Kuro had to chuckle lightly at this, his listening in on the conversation made somewhat obvious now, but he didn't care. They brought it to him anyway. "So, Kaiser Taj, we meet again... And who might this young lady be that you are with, hmm? Sad that you like to pretend you haven't at least made my acquaintance. Now, what kind of impression should a guest take if his host not even recognize him with even the slightest of nods?" Kuro says to the air before him, sending a sideways glance toward the two, barely tilting his head their direction.

“Considering that I saw the flyers advertising this event littered all over the school grounds, I believe you can figure out the rest.”
"I believe I can. Also, judging by the altercation between that jerk who knocked of the chips, I'm sure you can figure out that I'm Taj." Taj said sarcastically.
"Sorry, I'm not to good at starting conversations." Taj said as he leaned back into the bench.
"So, Kaiser Taj, we meet again... And who might this young lady be that you are with, hmm? Sad that you like to pretend you haven't at least made my acquaintance. Now, what kind of impression should a guest take if his host not even recognize him with even the slightest of nods?"
Taj turned his head to Kiyoshi's direction. "Kaiser, a bit formal don't you think. Please call me Taj. And I do apologize for ignoring you, I was pretending I was someone else. I didn't want this girl to have a preconceived notion about me, ya know?"

Switching vocabularies and choice in diction mid-conversation…
Details, details, details. If it’s within range of Valencia’s scrutiny, she will scrutinize it the second she catches whiff of it. The inconsistency in Taj’s speech revealed to the perceptive Asian that this young man probably wasn’t somebody who had enough greatness to be himself through and through, for lack of better terms. Sure, there’re tons of things to say about this one comment alone, but in this specific situation, this comment is necessary to comprehending why Valencia was glad that she’s not your typical schoolgirl who falls for the first guy who hits on her. Dudes, relationships should hardly be first come, first serve. It’s called development, kiddos, especially with people who hate the term “love at first sight” with a passion due to bad past relationships.
At least he admits that he was faking…
Valencia nodded to Kiyoshi as a sign of greeting for the sake of common courtesy. However, like with practically everyone else, Valencia’s eyes passed right over his instead of them full attention and she began to stare right through him despite her words suggesting otherwise.
“I’m Valencia Donahue. Pleased to make your acquaintance.”
She also meant to introduce herself to Taj as well and probably would’ve done this sooner if he chose to present himself as himself from the beginning.

"Huh..." the short, almost sigh-like, grunt escapes Kiyoshi's lips as he puts a foot up on the wall behind him and pushes off with it, coming to stand where he was once leaning. He turns his head as Taj speaks to him, the rest of his body sliding around gracefully before he takes a few steps toward the two, stopping about two feet from Valencia.
"Apology accepted, Kaiser. Not like it really matters to me if I am noticed or not; I just don't want you to give the wrong impression to this fine young lady here... but it appears as if you already have." he raises an eyebrow, looking down and to his left at the nearly foot-shorter girl next to him, more so prompting it as a rephrased question to her. She seemed the intelligent type, but seeming was far different from being and Kiyoshi was not one to make assumptions.
"I'm Valencia Donahue. Pleased to make your acquaintance." she said. It was refreshing for Kiyoshi to here some manners and formality; from anyone, really, for it was quite few and far-between that one would hear such eloquent speech from those in this generation.
"Kiyoshi Nanami. The pleasure is all mine, to be sure." he says turning to her, a short bow after his introduction. He attempts to look her directly in the eyes, his pale grey/green somewhat matching hers, in hopes he may see something more to this unspoken friction between her and the Kaiser.
Whether she caught the glance or not, he would return to standing upright, towering over the two in his 6'4" frame. "So, what brings the two of you out here? Beautiful night that it is, I would have expected at least you, Kaiser, to be inside with the party."

"Tajier Mukuro, nice to meet you as well." Taj said, leaning back into his chair.
"So, what brings the two of you out here? Beautiful night that it is, I would have expected at least you, Kaiser, to be inside with the party."
Taj frowned. " I am disappointed Kiyoshi, I can't believe you would have such an insinuation about me." Taj said, sarcastically.
"No but seriously Valencia was having a horrible time in there, I figured it would be best if I got some air with her. It is crowded in there. To be honest, I was shocked you came here Valencia? You don't seem like the type to come to parties." Taj said, first responding to Kiyoshi briefly but then turned his attention toward Valencia.

“Nothing is always as they seem.”
Valencia tilted her gaze towards Taj as he seated himself and closed her eyes as she crossed her arms. That’s life for ya, especially hers in a nutshell. Nothing is always as they seem and those who understood this well are those who skim the surface before diving in… And taking things in with consideration. There’s only one step to cross the line between “strangers” and “acquaintances”. Sometimes she felt like she had to be the one to make it. Of course, this isn’t saying that she didn’t have her own li’l problems in terms of communication. She continued in order to answer both Taj and Kiyoshi.
“I’m not entirely sure why I came here either. Let’s just say that I go wherever the wind takes me and everything else occurs by chance.”
…And the rest is improv and adlibbing.
"So you're the one who threw this party. What's the occasion again?"

"So you're the one who threw this party. What's the occasion again?"
It was the question nobody seemed to ask until now. Taj wasn't even sure himself why he decided to throw this bash. I mean, he could think of some political reasons, but they were probably just bullshit, as with most of Taj's explanations for things. Maybe he just wanted to use his Pop's basement, and that was the best reason to do it. To, "Unite the Hircinian Community during it's dire time of Varronite Strife" At least Taj would like to believe that was the reason he through the party. But, deep down inside he knew that wasn't the reason. Considering that the Varronites are here to stay, the only option was accept them, with open arms. It's not like he or any of the students had a choice within the matter anyway. But, we digress.
"Hmm..I'm so glad you asked that question."
[Do I really want to feed bullshit to this girl?]
"Honestly, cuz I wanted to use my dad's basement for a party. Although my original response: Unite the Hircinian Community during it's dire time of Varronite Strife, sounds like a much better reason." Taj said this as he turned his neck facing Valencia, admiring her qualities. Although, contrary to popular belief, the typical Taj was more so admiring her intelligence and witt rather than her physical makeup.

Taj's quick conversational turn to Valencia, showed his lack of interest in Kiyoshi's presence there and tossed a fair amount of brushing off in his direction. But Kiyoshi did not mind in the least. He was usually the one to be doing the brushing off anyway, not to mention his relative anti-social behaviour in general. He stayed quiet and allowed the steady pace of the conversation take him where it would, not much caring if he got a word in turn or not.
"“I’m not entirely sure why I came here either. Let’s just say that I go wherever the wind takes me and everything else occurs by chance.” Valencia says, keeping fairly vague and using a cliche, but it summed things up nicely nonetheless.
Kuro couldn't help but nod in agreement with this observation, he being very much the same way; allowing life to take its course, not being hindered by the past or worried about the future. He enjoyed "living in the moment", per se, so much so that it came to the point that he figured that whatever was going to happen to him was going to happen to him whether he liked it or not, so he might as well suck it up and deal with it when it came rather than worrying about its inevitable approach.
Taj's answer to the question amused Kiyoshi slightly, a smirk and short chuckle coming from his lips. "I suppose that is valid reasoning to throw a party. Given a space and the means to do so, why not?" Kuro says while crouching down to the ground before the bench, deciding to stick around a little while and see where this conversation led. "It appears to me that Hircine is already quite unified against the Varron onslaught. There's been much friction, maybe too much, as of late. That is why I am here. I decided to come because there is a chance that Varronites might want to come crash this fine 'shindig' you have going here." Kuro shrugs at his own statement. "In fact, I'd like that somewhat. It'd give me a chance to get to know some of these transfers in an oh-so personal way. The way one fights describes a lot about them." And with that, Kiyoshi dropped back and crossed his ankles before him, now sitting in a more permanent and comfortable position.

((OOC: Pardon my tardiness, I had stuff to tend to… Especially due to Lunar New Years.))
“Very well.”
Valencia appreciated the honesty and her gut told her that what Taj said was true. It was just a random party with random people, though there’re implications that most of its guests should be “native” Hircine students. She really didn’t know what to add because thus far, she didn’t quite see what was up with the Varronites versus Hircinian or whatever conflict. What strife? As of late, she has been trying to understand these new transfers and while at the same time tried to comprehend what’s up with her school being so… Rawr. It was hard to put into words without sounding peculiar. Anyways, she listened to Kiyoshi’s piece, not bothering to take a seat or lean against anything because she was appreciating the free space that she didn’t have earlier when she was down below.
“Indeed.”
…She murmured in response to Kiyoshi when he noted that a lot can be learned from the way one fought. Then again, Valencia had to ask another question…
“Though, it’d be a bit more meaningful to know why one fights. Just curious, but why would Varron transfers want to crash this party?”
I don’t think that there’s any significance to this gathering… But I could be wrong. Either way, their responses will show their understanding of them.
