A green jeep pulled up to the his uncles suburban home and what best could be described as Deacon stepped down from it. Yes he was no longer the same young man anymore, the gimmer of happiness had long ago died in his eyes. The uniform he still wore made him look stiff the expression on his face making him look cold nothing like he was only half a year ago when he was much more free spirited and in love. But thoughts things were gone now and it was only a question of what he would do now with his life.
He walked up the small cement walkway to his house and ran the door bell there was just an air around him as though he just didn’t want to be here nor anywhere at the moment, like none of it mattered anymore. The door slowly opened only to be greeted by his uncle who looked to have a proud face on him as he began to salute his nephew, deacon didn’t make any motion back he just looked at his uncle broken and cold.
“Whats the matter with jou…I though you would be happy, a Captain in such a short time…it was something I thought we would celebrate once you got home” his uncle said looking at his nephew, it was easy to see he had problems working within himself.
“No…I just really don’t feel like celebrating anything…its good to see you though” he managed to say before a small amount of hope filled his eyes. “When…when I was gone…she didn’t call or anything did she?” It was clear from the hope in his eyes there was only one girl he was thinking about making his uncle shake his head.
“No she hasn’t even written…I told you…its best to move on for now” His uncle said his hand raising and placing itself on deacon shoulder who shrugged it off and began to walk inside.
“Never mind…I guess I will just get changed and check on my bike before I go for a ride” Deacon said before disappearing into his room for a small while. There was nothing but a sadness and hurt in him one he did not think would ever heal.
It was about an hour later after he was unpacked and eaten something that he got to the front of the drive way with his bike and a few other things. It had been making some noises before he had left and he was sure his uncle had just let the bike sit there all these months. He started the engine to his cycle and sure enough the noise was still there.

"Eli!" her father's voice called up the staircase.
"Yes, father?" she asked coming to the landing.
"Go check the mail will you, and .. walk not run, and your afternoon snack is waiting, the nurse is also going to check your blood sugar to make sure you ate lunch today." he said.
Eli sighed, her shoulders slumped as she came down the stairs slowly taking the keys from his hand. Her life had been far more strict since returning home, and while she did eat lunch at school she barely did. But she ate enough to rise her blood sugar enough. Still, she knew that she wasn't gaining weight much to the bane of her father's existance. She was weighed each morning an she didn't budge an inch. But she also wasn't allowed to see the scale, because they knew if she did she would only try to lose weight again. She only knew if she gained because they would celebrate.
"Daddy.. I .."
"Eli just go, and work hard at being healthy that's all I ask." he said with a tired sigh.
Tears flooded her eyes, but none fell as she turned and left the house. She sighed as she walked down the sidewalk. White bermuda shorts, and a sky blue tank top. She was as thin as every. Tiny. Her bones protruded from her skin sharply, she was sickly thin. But at home she didn't have to hide how tiny she was, they knew, they knew more than anyone. She sighed as she fiddled with the keys her green eyes staring down at them in her hands.
She heard a bike close by rev up and her eyes shot up looking over. Everything seemed to freeze. There he was. Deacon. Kneeling there in front of his motorcycle. Shirt off, more finely toned than every before. But his eyes, they seemed so dead. Her eyes widened, and then hardened. She bit her lower lip.
"Deacon." she asked softly, taking a step towards his driveway hesitating a bit, she wasn't sure exactly what he thought of her after he had left her with no word. Nothing, he was gone, and when she left he had never contacted her even though she wrote at least once a week.

(Fucking bike) Deacon mentally shouted in a bit of frustration, as he stood there kneeling infront of the cycle. It was hard to look at the hunk of metal, it like so many other things reminded him of her, the thought of how she used to cling to him on top of it even though she hated the blasted thing she still rode it with him anyway.
Why hadn’t she called or anything, why were there no letters at hoe waiting for him to atleast show him she was okay, but no he was given nothing and would just have to go on and except she had moved on to better places and people and left him here alone to let his feelings rot within him.
‘Deacon’
A soft whisper of the voice of a ghost, that what it had to be because sure she could not be here. His eyes though were filled with hope an sadness as though he had acknowledged the fact he had just gone insane with hurt. He looked to her and shook his head “No…it can’t be you” he said softly as though speaking to himself “My mind must be playing tricks on me…my Elicia…she left me…better places and people…that’s what he said” He could feel himself looking for the urge to cut himself as he had so long ago to bring him back to reality but it seemed he was stuck
He turned around looking to the cycle, hoping this figment…this heart breaking hallucination would fade away

He was there. Right in front of her, and his cold blue eyes landed upon her slight frame she looked at him. Tucking her hair behind her small petite little ears. But he spoke as though he thought she wasn't there. Standing there. Waiting to be accepted like he had accepted her all those months ago. He said that she had left him, gone on to better things and better people. Tears streamed down her cheeks, as she found she had been told that he had moved on. While she was gone, he had found someone else, someone better, no baggage, and had gone to military school because he wanted to be with her. Then.. why was he back? She didn't understand but her eyes fell to the cement in front of her small flip flop covered feet.
"I .. " she bit her lower lip as her right hand curled tightly around the keys, the metal biting into her flesh to leave little indentions. ".. sorry.."
Though not sorry she left, because it wasn't her choice to begin with. She was sorry for never being good enough for being what he wanted and needed, she was sorry that she wasn't someone else. Turning on her heel she headed on to the mail box, there was no other reason to stay. His new girl probably made him a lot more happy than she ever could. She couldn't even eat properly. Elicia sighed as she brushed her slender fingers through her hair, her slight body moving with a gentle grace as she got to the community mail box. Number seven was theirs she slid her key in the slot and turned the lock to gather out the bills, magazines, and junk mail that was in there for the last couple days.
She sighed, her head fell. He was back and he probably didn't care about her at all. Why would he? He had never answered any of her letters, and after a while she had run out of paper and when her father found that she had been writing Deacon he refused to by her more. So the letters had stopped. Not like they were probably being read anyway, it seemed they had never needed answering. She turned and began to make her way back to the house, flipping through the mail, as her tears pitter pattered down onto the mail.

He knew he heard it speak but it was just him mind playing tricks on him because his heart ached s much. She was probably with a nice guy, one of the sons of one of her fathers rich little friends. Be a step up from a part time male model who had been in military school for the past several months. He would still be there it it wasn’t for the fact they had nothing left to teach him, his whole youth had been centered around such places it was no wonder why he excelled in such an environment.
Several minutes went by and she went back in the house. Deacon just shook his head. Maybe Michael was home, yes if he was home then he could tell Deacon he was just going crazy and that Elicia was still gone. It would hurt but he needed to hear it so he could stop imagining her infront of him as he had a moment ago.
He went to the door to the large home and rang the bell bitting his lower lip, his shirt still off but with the warm weather and the fact he lived right across the way he did not really care uch, it was just a quick question anyway

Elicia stepped into the air conditioned house, she could hear her father and the nurse talking in the kitchen. She sighed, she didn't want to eat her snack. But she knew they would sit there, and watch her, til she finished every last bite. She put the mail down on the entry way table and thumbed through it grabbing an letter from a contest she sent her artwork into. she got her magazine out and put the rest of the mail aside. Turning she wanted so badly to head upstairs but she couldn't, she knew they would come and find her, and if she wasn't going to eat she would have to sit there with an IV in her arm waiting for the nutrients to fatten her up. At least with eating she had some control.
She had only taken about three steps towards the hall, that would lead her to the kitchen. The door bell chimed loudly, and her brows rose.
"Eli get the door!" Cried her father who was shamlessly flirting with the nurse. There was nothing worse than being forced to eat in front of two people she knew got it on at night. It was disgusting, if Deacon had still been there she would have climbed up into his room numerous times. Just to get away from the noise and laughter.
Eli turned again and grabbed the handle of the door opening it, she swung it open and blushed softly as she saw there, standing before her was Deacon. She wondered why he was here to begin with, he hadn't said anything to her when she passed by. She smiled shyly and stepped outside closing the door behind her.
"Decide I wasn't your imagination?" she asked softly looking up at him with hopeful green eyes. "I thought.. at first that I was imagining you as well, but.. I think that.. I wasn't."

The door opened and there she was again with her green eyes looking up to him but he knew better. Elicia never had just green eyes, one was as blue as his own once her contact lens was out. She was blushing as she looked to him and stepped outside closing to door behind her, moving the way the real Elicia did, her scent the exact same as he could last remember it. Those eyes of hers looked to him as she spoke his heart beating with hope as his hand reached out.
He touched her cheek with his finger tips, a real, warm body with the silken flesh his finger tips remembered. His eyes looked as though he was about to shatter. “So…so I have not gone mad with grief as I have feared?” he asked her in that heavily accented Spanish voice of his just needing to hear her voice once more.
When she answered him he could not control himself his arms were around her before you could blink an eye and he had already pulled her into a deep kiss, the kind that screamed of young love and passion, the kind of kisss he used to be able to share with her from time to time when they had been able to be intimate with one another when eyes had not watched them as they had a tendency to do.
He tried to break it so many times but so many more times did he find himself leaning in for ore every time their embrace was about to break that was until oxygen became a must and it was forced to break leaving him panting lightly looking to her “You’re here…your really here” he said with a smile “I have missed you for so long my Elicia”

His hand came up. As if he really didn't think it was she that was standing there. She felt his fingers brushing her soft cheek, her eyes closed instantly, it felt good. After six months apart just feeling his hand on her face was something special. Her eyes opened at his words, and she smiled, she didn't knw what to say so instead she reached up and clasped the hand that was on her cheek. Lacing her fingers in his. It was then he moved, it was all so sudden she didn't have time to think or even really react befre his arms were around her painfully slender waist and he drew her close. Crushing the small statured girl against his massive bare chest, and then his lips.. oh his lips, found hers, and she melted, kissing him back for everything that he was worth her fingers playing softly against the bare muscular shoulders.
The kiss lasted an eternity. Her heart racing, her hands taking in his cheeks, neck, and hair. Laying finally to rest againt his slightly wet shoulders, from the midday sun. They tried to stop. There were several times that they paused in their kissing, as if to pull away only unable to. A hunger that had spanned over six months had pulled them back together, for more. Her lungs began to burn with the need for oxygen but she held it at bay the longest that she possibly could until finally they pulled apart gasping for air. She rested her head softly against his chest, feeling his hand cupping the back of her head gently in her still short brown hair.
Then he said he missed her.
Elicia pulled back and sighed, as she bit her lower lip and leaned against the wall of the entry way to her father's home. She looked at the ground, her right leg bent slightly at the knee.
"I.. don't see how.. I mean.. I missed you certainly more. I wrote, every Wednesday so that you would ahve your letter every Friday and I never once got a reply." she sighed. "My father, on visits, he said you never came to ask, and you never wanted to visit, and each time there were never any letters."
She shrugged her tiny delicate shoulders softly. Unable to look up at him right then.

She pulled back and away out of his grasp leaning against the wall and looking at the ground, such a sad look on her face as though she had something painful to tell him. She began and he couldonly help but shake his head at first in disbelief of what she was saying to him. She had written, he wished that had been true but never had he received a letter to even reply to. She then spoke of her father and his blue eyes which had been dead for months began to fill to life with a pure anger at the mention of her father and what he apparently was feeding to his daughter in terms of lies.
“This is what he told you” Deacon said waiting for her to give him a small nod before it could not help but burst out “HE IS A LIAR !” Deacon bellowed “How dare her ruin my name in you eyes with such lies…that week you left I was at this door every day looking and hoping you had returned.” He looked to her “He said you have moved on…that…that you were with some one better and that you wished not to see me ever again” his hands found her shoulders
“You must believe me Elicia…I…I never received any letters to reply to…especially not after I was sent back to military school” he sighed “every day though I thought of you…but there was never a way to reach you or I would have”

She nodded at his question. That was exactly what her father had told her. But even more than that, things she had't even told him yet. She looked up at him and jumped physically as he screamed out that her father was a liar. She bit her lower lip and looked away unsure of what she was supposed to think of that. Her father had always been really kind to her, and she knew deep down that all he really wanted was the best for his daughter. And yet this time, if what Deacon said was true, then he had by far stepped over his bounds as a father and straight to someone she could no longer trust. She had thought about recently, running away and getting a place of her own, she had a savings account she could move it into something her father couldn't touch and live off of it.
Deacon told her he had been over here a lot, banging at the door begging to talk to her, waiting for her to return but had been told that she had found someone else and had moved on to better things. Her jaw dropped. He went on to say that he never once recieved a letter and shortly after was sent to military school and unable to contact her because he had no information. Her eyes welled up with tears as she looked up at him, there was nothing but anger and truth in his eyes.
"They.. they told me you met someone else, that you moved to live with her, not.. not military school and I .. I was in the hospital .. all that time. My dad decided to try.. intervention and sent me to rehab and .. and then I just got home last week.' she said softly. She sighed.
"I went to your house as soon as I got home, I just.. wanted to hear it from you is all, and your Uncle wouldn't let me in, he said you weren't there anymore, and that I should move on. That you had." she whispered as she looked back down, her shoulders slumped.

They told her what? No it was unthinkable that he would leave Elicia. She meant the world to him and so much more then that how in gods name could she had ever believed such a tale. Their guardian, his uncle and her father, they were easily the ones to blame for this there was no way not to draw that line but why were they doing it he could not figure out even with his stratigical mind .
“Elicia… You’re the girl…That I gave my body and my heart to…do you think I would be able to move on from that?” he said his hands on her slender shoulders his thumbs stroking her skin lightly “I have always called you ‘My Elicia’ for that it what you are to me…I love you as much as I did then” he licked at his drying lips as one of his hands reached up and cupped at her cheek.
“Please tell me…please tell me it is still there within you as well” he asked her hoping she could say those words to him as they had once shared them

Elicia looked up at him as he began to confess his love for her once again. Saying that giving himself to her body and heart, was not something to be taken lightly, and that she should have known he would not have moved on from her so easily. She sighed. After all this time and he still didn't seem to understand that she had no confidence and after her father tld her time and time again and she never heard from Deacon of course she would begin to believe it. How could she not. The same way he had belived that she had moved on. It was more the pot calling the kettle black than anything else. He looked down at her and cupped her cheek asking her, pleeding with her to tell him that she still had the same feelings for him that she had before they had been visciously seperated. She wondered if he even knew that she had been in rehab, or that he cared, but she decided it didn't really matter. She smiled softly.
"Deacon, I .."
She would never finish that sentence as the door opened.
"Elicia is it that boy Allen you've been talking abou..." Michael's eyes opened. Elicia rolled her eyes and then her eyes went cold. She had a feeling that, he knew it was Deacon, hence the sneaky drop of Allen's name.
"Daddy, Deacon has been telling me some interesting things." she said coldly.
"Lies I'm sure, come Eli it's past your snack time, you're off schedule today." he said grabbing her arm.
Elicia struggled. "NO! Go eat it y ourself!" she said harshly.
"Elicia Grace Alexander you get in this house right now, or else!" he bellowed.
"Else what?!" she cried. "you'll take him away again?!" she screamed. Then she fell quiet. "how could you.."
"It was for the best! You were far too close, you need to get yourself together before you go galavanting about with some muscle bound boy!" he cried out.
"Stop it! Why can't you understand that I need people like him to help me!" she cried out.
"He was no help! Who knows the things you two did together it was a dis.."
SMACK!
Elicia was crying in earnest now, as she had hit her father, to shut him up. She shook her head as she turned, having nothing to say to the man she just walked off, heading down the street. She had no where to go, no where in mind except to walk, she couldn't be there now. Not right now.

She was going to say it he knew she was he could feel it, that all he needed to hear and then his life could go back to normal and he could be happy once more. But then just as she was about to the door opened and his eyes could not help but narrow as he saw Michael her father. There were no sweet feelings between the two teens and the adult at the moment. When her father grabbed her His own hand reached out for her as well but for once it was not needed, she fought back all by herself going so far as to slapping her own father right then and there.
He watched as his teen love turn and began to walk away he was about to run after her as her father cried out for her and took a step as though he was about to go after her “Eli!” her dad cried out but Deacon got right infront of him “Move it you stupid little spic punk” her father said and Deacon could not help but push her father back harshly to the wall of the house.
“Its Captain Delavega…you bastard” Deacon said shaking his head lightly before deciding to turn tail and go for Elicia. He grabbed the shirt that was between his belt and jeans and slipped it back on as he came to her.
“Elicia…wait up” Deacon said as he came to her in a slow jog getting to her side he looked to her “Come on….lets get out of here” he said giving her a small smile

Elicia heard her father scream her name and yet she didn't care. Nor did she turn around. She wasn't going to make him feel better. She wasn't going to go home so he could lock her up and keep her from Deacon. She had no plans in mind on where she would go but she knew that the one thing she didn't want to do was go home that night. She wanted to make him worry, she wanted him to realize that this time his precious little daughter didn't need him and wasn't going to come back to him to curl up in his big hugging arms and let him tell her that it was alright but that she needed to eat. He had taken away the best thing that had ever happened to her, and tld her lies so that she would move on. Did they not think the two would ever meet up again?! She was livid. She had never been so disappointed and upset with her father, he had always been a great father but now she was very upset.
She heard Deacon's voice, and paused letting him catch up with her, she looked up at him. She was hurt, and pissed, but he seemed all too happy and ready to get out of here. Maybe spend some time together that they hadn't been able to in so long. She looked up at him. The only vehicle they had was his bike but she figured it would be good enough for the both of them.
"Please, lets go." she said taking his hand. "anywhere, I don't care, I just want to go somewhere, away from where he can get me right now, and I don't want to go home tonight Deacon, I want to stay out, and let him worry." she said looking into his eyes, she could already see her father walking down the street.
"Hurry! Lets go!" she said nodding at his bike.

She took his hand and he smiled saying she did not want to be here tonight or go home at all. This act of betrayal did hurt him but the fact she seemed as though she was still his. She told him to hurry and he nodded back taking her by the hand and running across the street with her in tow. His bike would run he knew that much and right now as her father was getting closer it wasn’t like they had much of a choice.
As they got to his bike he handed her the helmet he always had with him and gave t to her as he got on it and he felt Elicia grab onto him from behind as her father began to now jog towards them calling out to them. The engine reved up and the bike roared to life as the two teens took off quickly turning passed her father and onto the street of the suburban neighborhood. They were getting the hell out of here, he was sure between the both of them they had enough cash for something to do .
First though was getting to a place they would blend in which made him drive towards the beach, the weather was beautiful and he was sure the two could blend in easily and get something nice to eat. Yes her had a feeling Elicia still had problems eating but he had a feeling he could get her to eat something especially if they were going to be on the move

She got on the bike. All too happy to get the hell out of here. She just wanted to be alone with Deacon so they could sit down and talk and work everything out. She put the helmet on and adjusted the strap quickly remembering how to do it from when they used to ride the bike a lot. She hated it, but she rode it because it enabled them to be free and to go anywhere they wanted. And it was a way for them to go anywhere, and it wasn't too bad because she got to hold him as they headed out and drove. And now as he swung onto the bike she wrapped her all too slender arms around his body and held on tight as the bike roared to life between her legs.
She pulled her legs up on the little foot rests and clung to Deacon as he pushed them down the driveway, and with her father screaming their names they took off like a shot down the street. She clung to him, her nose pressed against his shirt as they rocketed through the city streets of San Fran. right now the bike was not her enemy but her friend and she was having a blast as she held onto him getting away from her father and his never ending houdning on her eating. She clung to him for everything she had, her eyes closed as they headed to some destination that he had in mind. Even if they just rode forever right now she would not find the need to care.
All too soon they stopped and she opened her eyes to see they were at the beach. With the beautiful weather it was a perfect day to head here, and they could likely blend in with the crowds and have a good time getting to know one another. She smiled as she looked up at him and took off the helmet using his help to get off the bike, it had been so long since she had been on one. Tucking the helmet away she looked at the beautiful beach filled with vendors, restaurants, rocks, sand, water, people, and places to be together.
"What shall we do?" she asked him softly

He drove them down to the beach the beautiful weather made being here all the better and just as he had hopped there were some crowds here which meant blending in would be easy. He did not put it past her father to call the cops or look for them himself so blending was key to their privacy. He helped her off the bike before getting off himself, one day he would have to invest in a new mode of transportation but until then he had to make due with this even if she did not appreciate it.
He stood up and took her hand as she asked him what it was they should do and he gave a small smile. “How about a small walk on the boardwalk first ?” Deacon offered as he began to lead her in that direction. He could not help but want to be close to her, to hold her hand and touch her, he never wanted to be without her again as silly as it sounded.
As they walked he turned to her. “Elicia…now that were alone….I was curious…you never told me why you were at the hospital for so long”

He wanted to take her on a walk on the boardwalk. She couldn't help but smile she did enjoy being around Deacon. he was the first one to see her for who she was. And she would never forget the way that the cheerleader had actually flirted with him during their first day of school. And how he had insulted her in spanish but made it sound as though he was trying to serenade her. Sweet talk her into the back room or something. Only Elicia and maybe a few others actually understood what he said to the girl. And that, had won major points with Elicia because he had done that and then sat next to he to be her partner. As they turned to head for the boardwalk, she slid her slender cold hand into his. She was always cold these days especially her hands and fingers as he would find out. But it would likely not be a surprise she had always been too thin to stay warm really.
He asked her about why she was at the hospital. She smiled sadly. "You know why Deacon." she whispered. Because he did. If he thought about it he did. She had gone because she was too thing and she couldn't eat, and wouldn't eat, and she wouldn't gain any weight.
"But.. it didn't really work out and so Dad brought the nurse home because the doctor said I would fair better if I was at home instead. And now him and the nurse flirt all the time if I didn't have an appetite before, I'll never have one now." she sighed, as her eyes rolled up to look up into the sky.
"Where did you go Deacon?" she asked. "When I got home you weren't there."

She told him and no he was not surprised, but he kind of just needed to hear what it was from her lips and her lips alone, they had all lied to him but he knew she would never lie to him, she would never try to hurt him unlike their parents. He looked to her, still the skinny little girl he loved, though her condition did worry him he loved her enough not to shy away from her, never would he abandon the girl he had loved so much in the past.
Then after a small sigh as they walked she asked him where it was his life had taken him over these past months and he could not help but bite his lower lip slightly before looking to her and then smiling softly just seeing her face
“I was sent to a military school” deacon said with a sigh “After you left…I lost my mind alittle…I had no way to contact you…and your father” he paused lightly “Well he was not helping at all”
His hand squeezed hers alittle tighter “My uncle saw it as the only way to get me back on track I guess…though I still have no idea where he got the money to send me there….But got the last few months I had been there, being groomed to be a soldier and an officer..on the plus side I graduated the program with honors, even eared a few ranks”
He took a small breath “I got out this morning…and I think the greatest surprise was to see you …I must have dreamt about you every night while I was away”
He looked to her once more “I know it is asking much…but do you think you would share a meal with me…its silly but I missed eating with you like we used to”

Military school. She sighed, that figured. Send him as far away from her as possible to get him out of the way so he would stop trying to find her. Stop looking for her and trying to find a way to contact her. Get him out there where he would be too busy to do much more than dream about her. Because on the base they certainly weren't going to let him off and with no ammount of freedom either. She didn't know how he had gotten the money, even he said that he wasn't sure how his uncle had all of a sudden been able to afford sending his nephew off to a military school somewhere else. Her father's face sprung to mind, and her eyes narrowed. If he really wanted them apart that desperatly then she knew he would do it. But then, why would he want him that far from her. They were good together, and more than that, Deacon made her happy. And when she was happy she was more prone to take care of herself and try to eat, but when they had taken the one good thing out of her life, she had been devestated, and therefore, she had found herself falling easily back into the same patterns she had carried before.
Her steps faultered slightly when he asked her if she would share a meal with him. It was certainly time to eat, even her father knew that. But she wasn't hungry but then again she rarely was even though her body was slowly getting used to eating at specific times of the day even slowly beginning to yearn for the food. Though mentally she could shut that part of her body off and let it starve quickly resuming her life without sustenance. But she knew that Deacon would want to enjoy some time with her, and she knew of all people that he would be patient with her when she was eating because it would take her forever, and she would eat tiny bites chewing for what seemed like an eternity.
"Sure but.. someplace they sell light things. Like.. salad and fruit, you can get whatever you want but.. I .. can't eat anything that big." she said softly, honestly. Because it was true, she couldn't eat a burger, or chicken strips, she had to take it slow and easy and too much would send her back to thinking maybe she ought to get rid of it, and they would send her right back to the hospital if she developed two eating disorders instead of one.
