Jazz had been out of San Fran for a good few weeks. He had to travel back to the east coast to sort some things out in Varron with his company. As it turns out , the man he had left in charge of that part of the branch had not shown up for the last two weeks and no one knew why. Anyway due to this Jazz went back to Varron to begin the process of clearing the back log of paper work and un processed job which closing was the main source of income.
On another side of things, during Jazz’ time in what he would call solitude he had managed to increase his overall strength and muscle tone of his body. This was down to the high in protein drinks and a lot of exercise along the way. Due to this he had gained a fair amount of strength but lost some of his speed and evasive qualities. This was down the fact that Jazz wanted to improve his counter attacks and the one way he could see of doing this, and making it work to his advantage was to build himself up. Speed was somewhat useless unless you have a bit of power to back it up.
It had been some time since he had stepped foot in San fran, In fact he hardly knew what was happening around the place let alone knew if any of his older friends were kicking around anymore.
He had been drifting between Japan and the east coast as well as the occasional trip to the west coast , this was really just to check in with things, expanding a business is hard work.
Jazz had made his way back to his down town apartment that he still owned and still had his own space for his bike, after all he was still paying for the place. He wanted to get out and find some old chums Kaz, Leon etc however we was of course tired from the trip home and decided to get a bit of shut eye instead.
6 HOURS LATER
The sun was beginning to set over the city and the night life was starting to get into full swing, people were starting to make there way to pubs and clubs and the good old police siren could be heard screaming in the distance, a small grin drew across his face as he threw his jacket over his shoulder and headed out of the door.
Placing a smoke in his mouth and dawning his jacket he made his way out of the apartment block and made left down the road towards the centre of town. Along the way he took passing glances of pubs and clubs he used to visit, the had all changed. This kind of made his heart sink a little. However as much as everything had changed, the place was more or less the same.
Jazz had made his way to an old haunt, a pool haul going towards the east side of town, he thought this may be the place to find some of his old buddies. It was an old western style tavern with fake saloon doors which Jazz laughed off as relatively amusing. The first thing he wanted to do though was get a drink. He sat at the bar and waited to be served. The barman walked over and looked Jazz in the eye, almost as if he knew him. Jazz grinned back, not really knowing what to say.
‘’….erm….Glass of malt please…’’
Just at that the bar man interrupted
‘’Strait up and in a square cut glass right?’’
Jazz smiled and grinned.
‘’Thought I might see you in here again.’’ He said with his back turned to Jazz
‘’Heh…couldn’t stay away.’’ came the jovial response. ‘’Seen any of the old gang kicking about?’’
The barman paused for a moment.
‘’Not recently mind, or frequently but they show up from time to time, play pool, get drunk, then sod off…same old.’’
Jazz chuckled as the drink was placed in front of him, taking the first mouth watering sip.
‘’I love beer but god I missed your whisky!’’
He said after taking a small sip. Jazz sat at the bar, minding his own business and chatting to the barman when he had the chance. It was good to talk to an old acquaintance but he still pined for the company of his old ‘’crew’’ as it were.
