Because I love flaunting, and since I've wanted to draw manga for a living since I was three, I decided to post some of the stuff I do instead of my school work *cough* here. And I was being sarcastic earlier. The main reason I'm doing this is for constructive criticism. I'd really appreciate it if people gave me some advice on how to improve because: 1.) I know I still have a long way to go. 2.) I like getting better. 3.) I want to refine my artwork before my friends and I get a web comic site up. It's a very small step in the direction I want to go. And what I'm posting here isn't what I plan on posting on the web comic site. There's an entirely different project planned out for that~ Anyways, let the flaunting and constructive criticism begin. Notes: That's the first one I drew for this. These short little comics are based on stuff that actually happened to me in real life. Or are at least very similar. (And yes, that misspelling of "overlords" was intentional. I wanted to give it a funnier sound.)

Jesus, you drew this? Man, that's pretty good for a manga-styled comic strip. Good job.
I honestly can't think of anything constructive to point out at the moment, considering manga is typically a more simplistic and exaggerated form. Perhaps you could do better to better exaggerate her blushing or so, but that's really all I can see.
Glad to hear you're doing well with your dream though. It's good to see.

Thanks~ And I'll work on exaggeration ^^ But now I know an area I really need help in. Toning @@;; I tried doing it on the computer, an ended up marring the comic X_@;;; Advice on toning would really be appreciated, and thanks ahead of time ^^ ======= And just because this particular experience was just terrible... ;;

I enjoy the art style, you're pretty talented. One thing I think you could work on however, is your jokes. Large exaggerations like the "Insect Overloards" have their own humor, but each comic makes me feel like I'm missing some inside joke. an example being the very last one you posted. It seemed more an honest discussion without any punchline near the end. i may be missing something because, as you stated, these are apparently referencing real life events. Therefore I'm assuming these are inside jokes, making it harder for other people to truly appreciate them.
So while I like your art style and comic construction, I'd like to see you make some more elaborate and easy to understand jokes.

Aden you aren't missing anything in the last comic. Take a look at the first comic it actually explains the third one perfectly. It isn't so much as missing an inside joke as it is a continuation of a previous joke.
On another note. I like the artwork and the jokes. I am not going to lie, I have done the exact same thing your character did in the second comic.
No constructive criticism here. I like em just as they are.

Pine, that makes no sense, they just both have bugs in them. I guess you could say that it's because of the experience with the toilet, the character went on to kill bugs, but I'd rather the actual creator explain this to us, rather than your speculation. For all we know, the comic of the toilet came after the experience of the first comic. there could be no link whatsoever, and that's what it seems to be. My point still stands. Now, don't get me wrong, this is a simple critique on what I'm seeing. I really do enjoy Galen's art style, since he's much more talented then some people I have seen and would like to see him further his work, but I also want to clear up what I've stated.

Huh. The one with the outhouse I thought would've been the one farthest away from an inside joke ; But actually, yeah, a lot of these are, but I still try to make them somewhat funny to others. But thanks. I'll work on the jokes ^_^ And all of these aren't really linked together. They're just a bunch of random comics and doodles. Kind of like what you'd see in the cartoon section of the newspaper.

[sarcasm]Aren't all nighter's fun?[/sarcasm] ====== In portfolio class, the teacher had us make 26 squares. Each one had to have our visual representation of a word from a given word list, and each word had to begin with a different letter of the alphabet. This is my square for the letter K. The word was "Kazoo" >.>
