Not noticing people dropping hints is probably one of the reasons why Karrick usually tells people up front not to bother him. He is just a big kid really, he is not above fart, mom, or Chuck Norris jokes.
When confronted in an argument or in a fight Karrick will often try to bluff. Whether it is to escape the confrontation or to get the upper hand on someone else, Karrick will tell any lie that could get him out of the jam. Sometimes the fibs work marvelously and other times it makes his life a lot more uncomfortable.

History: |Ready For This?|
Karrick Marcus was born on October 15th in the Windy City. His father and mother didn’t live in Chicago, but had been up there when her water broke. Karrick’s family was a small one, his father Gene had a rough childhood which resembled Mommie Dearest, and his mother Rita had no real drama to speak of. They lived out on a small farm in southern Illinois where they grew beans and corn. Most of the family left was only about ten to fifteen people; they were seldom seen except during Thanksgiving or Christmas. Since the family was so small Karrick grew up with a strong sense of family pride. Even though he was only a poor farmer’s boy he’d acted like his family owned Las Vegas. Karrick often spun fantastic tales about his family and anyone that doubted him would be talked down to. Karrick was usually never reprimanded for his lies and he continued to spin them.
|From 7 to 11|
At the age of seven Karrick’s father, Gene, had finished night courses at a community college and earned a certificate in Graphic/Web Design. So while Karrick was at school learning, his father would be doing small jobs for people if they needed a graphic or a website. This eventually led to a small company in California like Gene’s work and wanted him on permanently. The pay far greater then he was getting currently, Gene packed up his family, and moved to San Francisco. Karrick had little trouble adjusting to his new environment, he loved the sun, and he no longer had to wake up very early in the morning to help out on the farm. With more money, Karrick’s family was able to afford more luxury items, one of which was a boom box. Karrick quickly began to love music and would listen to it for hours on his bed. This love of music would help him as he made friends that had older brothers that were ‘breakers.’ Karrick had no idea what a breaker was, so Karrick watched his friend’s brother along with several other older kids breakdance. Intrigued by it, Karrick started trying some of the stuff in his spare time. He’d practice anywhere and everywhere. One late afternoon practicing behind the school, he saw one of the breakdancers from his friend’s house. The guy was very helpful to Karrick and even said he would teach him, the guy’s name was Jon.
Karrick idolized Jon because he was like a tornado of flesh and bone when he danced. Karrick wanted to be as quick, flexible, and smooth. It was a very difficult journey with lots of scrapes and bruises. Karrick never quit and Jon had often said, “As long as you don’t quit, neither will I.” Karrick eventually had almost caught up to Jon’s skill level when he learned that Jon was moving away. Saddened Karrick said good bye to his friend and tutor, vowing to not let him down if they ever met again. Karrick though he didn’t care for the competitions the older boys had was still recognized by the few that cared enough to watch. His life was like applie pie, until he turned 12.
|The Peach Fuzz Years|
At the age of 12 and continuing up, things in every child’s life got whacked with a dose of puberty. Making people more aggressive, withdrawn, and more concerned about one’s social standing. Karrick the fun loving ‘breaker’ was often at the wrong end of jeers. At first these bothered him greatly; however, he would never let anyone know how much they bothered him. With time Karrick eventually just dealt with it and then ignored it completely. Girls were becoming less “Oh look another kid” to “Holy Crap! A girl!” with along with everything else a growing boy has to deal with just added more stress. Karrick was in and out of loops a lot between 12 and 14. The fact he could breakdance made him cool, but he didn’t know when to shut up and thus annoying like a mosquito. Karrick made another older friend during this time that was reminiscent of his old friend Jon. His new friend was called himself Q-Tip.
Though a very odd name for someone and Karrick figured it would make people go out of their way to bully him, nobody ever did. Q-Tip got his name from being tall, skinny, pale, and he always wore a white beanie. Karrick first met Q-Tip late one afternoon, Karrick had been jumped by three older boys who took his cd player. Karrick was trying not to sniffle to loudly since he didn’t want to be seen like a pansy to anyone passing by. A shadow covered his head and he felt something warm and firm on his head, Q-Tip’s hand. At first Karrick jumped thinking he was going to get beat up again, but Q-Tip simply guffawed at his reaction. Q-Tip explained that the basketball court was a good place to practice and Karrick began talking to him.
Karrick learned that Q-Tip was practicing a martial art called Capoeira; a fighting style that looked a lot like breakdancing from Karrick’s point of view. Timidly Karrick asked if Q-Tip could teach him what he new, Q-Tip laughed heartily and said he would, but he was still a student himself. Karrick began spending afternoon with Q-Tip learning and practicing as much as he could. Karrick was always behind Q-Tip and unlike with Jon, it seemed Karrick wouldn’t catch him. Q-Tip often reassured him he was doing fine, but it was that Q-Tip had an actual teacher. Karrick often sparred against Q-Tip and lost always with lots of bruises. People stopped picking on Karrick because they knew he was a friend of Q-Tip and that some people had seen Q-Tip teaching Karrick. Karrick wouldn’t get into a lot of fights, but he got into enough to realize he had a lot of work to do, that he wasn’t the best. . .yet.
|Beginning To Look A Lot Like. . .|
Though Karrick’s life was pretty much fine, that of his current school, and those that went there was not. The school had falled below the academic requirements and the increased violence had forced the school’s closure. Karrick, didn’t really care anymore, since Q-Tip graduated last year. The school held nothing for him anymore and now he was to be transferred to a new school. For the longest time his parents had made him stay away from Hircine and the related schools and he didn’t know why. Now it seemed like his parents would just have to deal with it, since only two schools existed that he could go to without costing them a fortune in gas to go somewhere else. It reminded Karrick of a slasher film, what door would the crazed psychopath pop out of? Hircine or Paragon?
Fighting Style: Karrick is learning more and more about Capoeira, but he is nowhere near mastered it. So he often times will rely on just winging it. He mostly attacks with sweeps, kicks, headbutts, and he does like elbow strikes. Karrick who has bluffed most of his life about one thing or another utilizes feints as well. When fighting he relies on speed, flexibility, and his legs.
Strengths:
| They Call Me Sonic | Speed, speed, SPEED! Karrick is a fast little guy who will run circles around even more agile opponents. Breakdancing, Capoeira, and a healthy dose of soccer keeps Karrick moving faster and longer. His speed allows him to quickly get out of the way or improvise a counter. It also makes his kicks harder to avoid and puts the KICK in KICKass!
| Flexibility | Karrick has to be flexible, it his air, water, and food. Without it he couldn’t have any fun. Karrick can wrap and twist in so many ways you’d get confused just looking at him. This allows him to pull off flashier moves, unique attacks/counters/evasion, and just generally will make any grappler have a bad day.
| Balance | All that flexibility doesn’t count for jack if you can’t stay on your feet long enough to do anything. Karrick’s balance is top notch allowing him to freeze in weird positions and keep his balance. Which means it’s hard to throw him off balance and more often then not you’ll be off balance just from looking.
Weaknesses:
| Brains over Brawn | Karrick doesn’t have much in the brute force department. The only thing he can brute force is a soda can. His attacks rely on momentum and being unpredictable not punching holes through walls, which means a stronger opponent is going to treat him like a chew toy.
| When Opportunity Knocks | Karrick is no way a master or is he even remotely a martial arts genius. He is probably at best a mediocre fighter. Which means Karrick will often leaves a lot of opportunities to knock his lights out! A veteran fighter will make short work of him.
| Fresh Meat | Lets face it, Karrick is a NEWB! He doesn’t understand all the techniques, fighting styles, or what hitting someone in a certain spot will do. All is he knows is kidney, crotch, and head. If you know how to be the last man standing, you’re pretty much going to be sipping ice tea in a fight..
