((Ooc-Mods weren't on to approve bio and I got restless )) Meek would be the word that would best describe the small frame that moved through the crowded hallways. Un-avoidably playing chicken with other students only to be shoved aside. High school was not what she had envisioned. Course what did she know, she had never been to a highschool and now only relies on her own independence to stay aloft. But what would be said if she could speak up letting people know she was there. Would it make a difference? With her green eyes upon the floor she clings tightly to her books in hopes that they stay within her arms. Her eyes darting only to glance at door numbers. Occasionally looking around at the sea of faces the fluttered past her eyes as quick as wind. There were so many people and yet she felt so alone. A new city, a new school. She felt as if she had the plague or if she was to be a leper. Shunned away if she were ask for any directions. Stopping she had approached a group of students blocking the way. She start to back away to find an alternative route but it didn’t take long before one of them would take notice of her. “Ahh well, Look what we got guys, I think we have a freshman on our turf.” Nora stumbled with her words to excuse herself only to have her books scatter to the floor from the force of the student’s hand that swung down on them. “Oops. Looks like she’s a klutz too!” The howls of laughter would make her face flush as she would go to her knees to pick up the scattered papers and books. To her dismay one of her books binding broke leaving leaves of pages being kicked down the hallway by passing students. Her eyes burned as she tried to hold back her tears. She couldn’t say anything for a single word would quiver from her lips and no doubt let loose the tears that stung at her eyes. The sound of the bell seemed to be her savior. The kids taking another look as well as some laughs before making their exit down the hallway one or two kicking more papers as they went. She could do nothing but push up her thick rimmed glasses and reach for another paper.

~Wow that kid looks like she just woke up and forgot to look in the mirror~ Pine thought to himself as he saw a small framed girl get utterly knocked around the hall like a pin ball. It seemed that she was either blind or just stupid trying to walk through people. Pine however admired what he hoped was determination to get through the hallway to whatever class she was heading too. Pine decided to follow to see what would happen here.
The girls overall appearance would make her an easy target for the sheep of this school, sheep Pine could no longer stand. He was hoping it did, he wanted to stretch his muscles bad and there was no better way for a wolf to do that then to show some sheep the natural order.
Sure enough one of the students stepped out from his group and slammed the girls books to the ground. It was such a shame, the boy did not even see what was about to happen to him. Then again when you think about it would there be any difference if he did? These students are not fighters, the fighters no longer exist here, they left before Pine came and now it was Pine's turn to have some fun. He stepped in front of the girl and looked at the boy who had done the deed.
"So you think picking on little girls is funny do you Polly?" Pine asked with the same small smile that was always on his face before a fight.
"Polly? who are you talking to kid?" The student asked as Pine.
"You Polly. You know Polly want a cracker? Mindless, arrogant prick." Pine said still smiling at the boy the only difference was now Pine stood in his fighters stance ready to deal with the student swiftly.
"Listen here you little...glurk" The student didn't have time finish his sentence as the left elbow connected with his temple dropping him instantly.
The other boys stood in shock as they watched the student fall, their nerve leaving them instantly. It must have been a long time since they had to fight and Pine doubted they would now.
"Did Polly like his elbow? You talk too much, laugh too loud and now look at you. PATHETIC." Pine said emphasizing the last word perfectly. "These halls belong to all students not just a few. Now take Polly and get out of my sight."
He looked over his shoulder at the girl who was grabbing at her papers. "You alright girl?" He asked in a rather soft tone as not to startle or scare her.

Nora seemed stunned as she watched the older student come forth and step up to the others. She wouldn't have had the courage to do it but it seemed as the guy helping her out had enough for both of them.
Raising to her feet she stumbled to shove as much as she could into the over-sized bag before giving up on the few fluttering book pages that now were down at the end of the hallway. She would no doubt have to replace the book. She still pondered why she hadn't done that in the first place but then remembered about her lunch at the bottom. She looked disappointingly at the now smashed sandwich that laid like an accordion at the base of her bag.
Hearing his questions she sniffled slightly before looking up at him with wide eyes. She felt small and insignificant right there. Clinging to her bag strap she nodded.
"I believe so. I guess I should have been more careful I wasn't thinking and I'm sorry to have bothered you into helping. It seems that I bring it upon myself."
In sorts she was talking softly and so quickly that it seemed as if she would stumble her words at any moment.
"Didn't that hurt?"
She couldn't help but glance at his elbow thinking of the thud she just heard as it connected with the other students head. Surely it would have hurt. She couldn't help but think that when she would accidentally hit her elbow on a desk or table it would tingle and hurt at best but he seemed unaffected at it.
Her face suddenly flashed in a surprised look.
"O I'm sorry, I dont want to forget to thank you for doing that. I mean Im sure they had, had their fun for the day and would have left me alone until tomorrow. But yea, thank you."

"I believe so. I guess I should have been more careful I wasn't thinking and I'm sorry to have bothered you into helping. It seems that I bring it upon myself.Didn't that hurt?"
By now the boys had taken there fallen friend and began to run off. Pine was sure it would be safe for him to turn around and actually talk to the girl he had just helped.
"To be honest, I was looking for a reason to hit someone today you just made that easier. I would suggest taking some time to make it look like you didn't just roll out of bed five minutes before you got here." Pine replied with a slight sigh and rubbed his elbow.
~Man I must be losing my touch, that did kind of hurt.~
"My elbow is okay, you get used to using them after a while and then all you feel is the connection because the nerves are dead in the area." Pine said with a small smile.
Pine would be sure that when he got home he would practice his elbows until they were numb and almost bleeding. That way he would be sure that the next time he used them, he would feel nothing.
"Oh, my name is Pine by the way what's yours?"

With his comment about her attire or rather the condition they were in she glanced down and tried to smooth the shirt but it bounced back with a vengeance leaving the wrinkles untouched. Sure they could use an iron but she hadn't the time nor much energy at the end of her day. She still had boxes packed and rummaged through them quickly to find something for school. Course it couldn't always be her excuse.
"Yea.."
Looking back up to him as he addressed himself she extended her hand for a handshake but was unsure that he would do the same and if not she would place her hand back on the strap of her bag.
"Nora. Course Ive been called other names by my siblings but that's another story."
She couldn't help but smirk at the thought of the different nicknames her brothers had adopted for her.
"Well I guess this means that I am in your debt for doing that for me."
She then looked around at the now empty hallway and wiggled her little nose to slightly as if she were trying to keep her glasses upon the bridge of her nose.
"You wouldn't by chance know where I can find the library? I have a free period and wanted to check out their selection of literature. And of course now I have to see if they would have a spare book to replace the one I just ruined."
She looked down at the poor excuse for a book before giving it an uneasy look pushing a few more pages within the big bag.

"Nice to meet you Nora." Pine said and extended his hand and giving a firm but soft shake.
Pine knew all about siblings and being called names. Being the eldest kind of made that a given. Pine did wish however that his family would at least talk to him once in a while. There were many times Pine sat by the phone waiting for a call to be returned that never would. He did not know why his siblings would not talk to him anymore, it wasn't like it was his choice how things turned out. It was not his fault his parents disowned him, or that he was shipped to the U.S. to go to school, or to the army. He just wished that his siblings would call him back and let him know how they were. He wanted to know about how they were doing in school, relationships, but most of all he wanted to know that at least someone still loved him.
Pine banished the thoughts from his head quickly before he became any sort of emotional. Here at Hircine he had to be the soldier that would beat these students into order; the wolf that would make sure the sheep were always weary of their actions. He could and most likely go home and break down later but for now he had to keep his resolve.
"You owe me nothing, consider it a free service from one new student to another. We have to somewhat stick together you know. Anyways follow me and I'll show you to the library."

She couldn’t help but like his confidence. He seemed to be sure of himself something she herself would not take advantage of. Course if she would have felt any placement within the school then it would have been a surprise if she would have met her savior for the day.
“I don’t mean to be in-pertinent but may I ask where you have gotten your scars? You look as if you have had a mix in with beasts.”
She paid no mind with how she phrased her question. In her mind she could conjure up the idea of him going toe to toe with a beast with long claws with three rows of teeth. Something she had read in a book at one time. The details that danced in her mind with her imagination with ease. He would be up against the ferocious beast with nothing but his bare hands. The beast rearing its head and snarling like a horse reading to attack shaking the fur upon its back that seemed to rattle like rattlesnakes. The thought tantalizing her to look for another good book by one of her favorite authors.
“You don’t have to answer it if you don’t want to. Curiosity has a way of sneaking in. I seem to not know when to keep my curiosity at bay.”
She turned her attention back towards the way they were walking. The halls empty. Passing lockers and doors. Hearing the subtle murmurs of teachers lectures and student chatter.

Pine stopped walking and looked over his shoulder at Nora. "Never apologize for being curious and never worry about asking a question you want an answer too." Pine said and continued walking.
This girl was another one who had no real self esteem or courage. He couldn't blame this one though, she just came off as an easy target. That's why he knew following her would lead him to a fight and partially why he was walking with her now. That and he knew what it was like to be constantly picked on.
"These scars are my medals of stupidity for fighting those with weapons. Two scars were made when I fought a boy with a sword. The third was received during a life or death fight where I was defending two of my friends."
He was going to add in that both parties that marred his face were dead, but that was probably a bad idea. Instead Pine was content to give her just that much information. Now it was his turn to ask a few questions of his own.
"Now I have a question for you, why are your clothes so wrinkly?"

Nora again tugged at her shirt. She then spoke defensively.
"I feel that appearances shouldn't judge a person like a book that is judged by its cover. I feel that no matter what is on the inside should be explored before placing judgment."
She paused moving her hand to fiddle her fingers in her frizzy hair.
"I didn't have time to press them after getting my brothers ready for school. I thought after I made and served breakfast but Joey, my brother spilled juice over his shirt and I had to clean him up. Also had to make sure Joshua didn't forget his homework before waiting at the bus stop with them. Not to mention I had to clean breakfast dishes up and make sure they are put away properly. Time went so fast I just think about it."
She twisted a lock around her finger.
"But I still believe appearances shouldn't judge a person. If I was to judge you I probably would have no doubt ran in fear just for the simple fact the first thing I saw from you was nailing some bully in the head with your elbow. But I didn't and why I am beside you now."
She couldn't help but let out a small smirk.
"Not to mention, you know where the library is. So do you know how to do other stuff like kicks and stuff? I would hate to be on your bad side, it didn't seem like much with that other guy I know if you just flick me I would probably bruise or fall over."
She couldn't help but laugh.

~Shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. This is high school not a movie~ Pine thought as he listened to what she had said.
In high school people judge you by the way you look all the time. It was especially true for girls, they were the worst. It was not uncommon for the feminine gender to pick on each other because they could. For that reason Pine was happy he was a guy and violent. At least this way if he had a bad day he could hit someone for pointing it out. Too be a girl would be a truly scary thing.
Nora was right in his case, had she just judged him on what he looked like she could have just run. Then again that might not have been such a bad thing on her part. Knowing Pine was like sticking a target on your back, at least it would when he had his game plan. He had heard a few things about these Paragon students he wanted to test. He wanted to see if their level of violence could match or surpass his own. All he knew so far was that they were far more violent than these Hircine students and loved to fight. Pine might just take a little stroll over to Paragon and say hello to a few students to make him feel better.
"Not to mention, you know where the library is. So do you know how to do other stuff like kicks and stuff? I would hate to be on your bad side, it didn't seem like much with that other guy I know if you just flick me I would probably bruise or fall over."
Pine was brought back by her continuing dialog and her laughter. "I doubt I could flick you and knock you over. It is a nice thought but impractical. Yes I do know how to do kicks and stuff but I prefer to use knees and elbows. Bigger bones mean bigger damage which means less fighting. Besides, the likely hood of you breaking an elbow or knee in a fight are low where a fist or shin are much higher."
Pine stopped and turned to his right looking at was now the library entrance with it's turn-styles and such. Unlike Varron's library this one was packed full of students. It was for that reason Pine did not frequent this library as he did Varron's. He hated to see so many people busily studying peacefully in one place. He hated the fact they all got a long so well. He especially hated the fact he was unable to understand the concept of peace anymore. Perhaps almost three years of fighting has damaged him beyond such interaction. Perhaps he didn't belong around normal students anymore. Maybe it was just that the idea of such unity scared him too much to try.
"Here it is." He said glaring into the room at all the students. "The library"

Nora seemed astonished on his thought process. She would have never thought about fighting that way. To use one limb over another. But again she had never thrown any more than a book let alone any part of her body that could be considered a dangerous weapon.
She looked towards the room. A place that she would gladly spend a lifetime being alone in. But she was saddened all the same. This was the first time someone has really talked to her. She had her teachers of course, to address what they needed but not once have she had someone around her age at least acknowledge she was there. It was a shame really to find so little about someone in such a short period of time. There was nothing to do but invite him to join but even with thought of it she doubt he would like sitting and reading a book. He didn’t seem like the person and the way he had just looked into the room would support that. Not everyone was a book lover like she was. Turning towards him she pushed up her glasses and smiled.
“They say imagination is the gateway to...to.."
She then paused to think about it, trying to remember the saying but alas her mind drew a blank. She could have swore it was on the tip of her tongue.
"Well I don’t remember what they say but anyway. I do thank you again for what you have done. Thou I don’t really see how you can just brush it off so easily. You may not think that I owe you but I do and if I may not be able to repay you back for it. At least accept my appreciation and who knows, maybe I can return the favor is some way or another."
She paused to adjusted her large bag and held onto the strap as she continued on.
“I would invite you to join me but I very well know that you have much better things to do then to sit around and read unless of course if you have nothing better to do. In which I extend my offer.”

~There is a saying about imagination being a gateway too something?~
Now that Pine thought about it, the more he was sure there was no such saying. He knew the eyes were the gateway to the soul. He knew a mans' stomach was the gateway (or key) to his heart but nothing about imagination. Pine was of course not going to tell Nora this, that would be mean. No, he would just let her keep thinking there was such a saying because it was the easy thing to do. It also seemed Nora was still talking, talking about how she owed him.
~ What is this owing me business. I beat some guy up for being an ass big deal. Unless I'm missing something.~
Now Pine was forced to think about what he could have possibly done that was above and beyond to make her feel this way. The only thing he could think of was that he was being nice to her. Maybe he was the first person to be nice to her. Maybe this girl was all alone in the world. Pine felt something like pity toward the girl for her misfortune. Then again, if he were wrong then that would make him an ass.
Join you in the library lets see..." Pine started as he pulled out his timetable and looked at it. After finding today's date and time he realized he had an entire hour to kill before class. "Alright if you're so adamant about paying me back how about you entertain me for an hour then."

"You know a poet once said the choice of attention, to pay attention to this and ignore that, is to the inner life what choice of action is to the outer. In both cases, a man is responsible for his choice and must accept the consequences, whatever they may be."
She turned and looked towards the stairs that which no doubt would come to an exit.
"If I choose to stay in the library for the hour I know you would be bored. So in order to produce better consequences. I think it would be better spent out in the court yard. There you have a better chance of running away after the hour is up."
She laughed slightly. She knew after an hour of her he probably would be sick of her. The courtyard was much better than the library. She was more of an outdoors person anyway. Not to mention it would be less embarrassing then trying to put her book back together in the library. Less prying eyes. She was never one for crowds but she knew how to drown herself in a book.
"Now that I know where the library is I can find it more easily another day. Come on. I'll spare you from the boring library."
She nodded towards the stairs in which would be their exit and she waited to move until he did.

Well Pine had to hand it to the girl, she was smart. Her little quote about actions and acceptance was pretty good and definitely above the level of most high school students. There was no doubt she must read many books in her free time instead of watching T.V. or hanging out with friends. It was a noble choice, but rather foolish still. All that knowledge was wasted on a girl who could only get the attention of those that would bully her. The thought was slightly annoying and yet understandable at the same time. He hoped for her sake she would eventually change and become more than she was. In high school it was good to be smart but in many cases it was good to fit in and that meant looking the part. If Nora didn't start playing the part such intelligence would be wasted because there would be no one willing to listen. Pine just had no idea how to tell her.
When she mentioned that they should go somewhere else Pine just looked at her and shrugged. If the girl wanted to go somewhere else that was perfectly fine with Pine. He didn't want to spend anymore time in the library then he had too. He would be showing up here later in the week to talk to someone that worked here anyway. There was no need to be seen with some one that could be targeted later for it.
"Alrighty then, Miss Scholar since it's your idea you get to lead and I shall follow." Pine said with a small smile on his face.

"Alright then."
She took the lead towards the steps. Taking two at a time down them, going at a pretty fast rate. Hitting the last step and hopping down on the floor she turned and looked to make sure Pine was still following before continuing on.
She really wasn't looking about, holding her bag as it hit her thigh with a slight bounce as she walked. Objects clinked and clanked in the bag in a rhythm of sort.
"So when did you transfer here? I officially became a student last week but today is technically my first day. The move was a bit trouble some and I had to miss the week in order to get things situated at the place we're staying at. My brothers aren't much help when they would rather run around then unpack a truck full of stuff. You never know how much junk you keep over the years in one house until you move. I found things I haven't seen in years. Old clothes and stuff. I hate to part with things like that but I found that I was limited. Its kinda sad when you have to chuck old memories into a black trash bag. Its like watching it go into a black hole never to return again. Depressing really, thou none of it held any value."
She spoke as she kept walking reaching the exterior door of the school she held it open for Pine.

Pine watched Nora turn and basically bolt down the stairs before he had much chance to move. For such a small girl she could move rather fast with such a big bag on her shoulders. He was slightly amused by this and allowed himself a small smile. Then he quickly realized that she had already hit the bottom of the stairs and was quickly walking away. If he didn't move soon she would get away and she might think he ditched her. That would be bad and leave Pine to try and occupy himself for an entire hour. There was no way he was going to do that. Pine looked at the flight of stairs and decided he could probably jump them.
Pine tightened the straps on his backpack and took a few steps back. ~THIS IS A REALLY BAD IDEA~ His little voice of reason told him Pine of course never really listened to that voice and he wondered why it even bothered to try. With a running start Pine jumped off the top stair and flew toward the bottom. All was going good until Pine was able to map his landing, he wasn't going to clear the last stair. ~Told you so~ The little voice said as Pine hit the stair and went flying forward. He managed to get himself out of the nose dive and gracefully fall over a garbage can onto his ass. He did however manage to catch the just of what Nora had said.
"Ow....I've been a student here for two weeks and some. Oh and if you ever think jumping an entire flight of stairs looks cool. Let me tell you it really isn't and you should not try that at home. " He got up and walked through the door dusting himself off in the process. Now if only he could mend his damaged pride would he feel better. That and his calves and feet really hurt.

Nora couldn't help but smirk and try not to laugh when he suggested she didn't try that stunt. She wasn't much of a thrill seeker when it comes to something that could cause her bodily harm. In truth she was surprised he would have thought to do that. He could have easily sprained or twisted his ankle. But guys will be guys. She was sure it was only a matter of time before her own two little brothers would be playing "hang glider" on the banister at her Aunts house.
"I think I'll take your word on it."
As he moved past her, move moved out of the way letting the door shut behind them. Stepping lightly and taking the lead once more she looked around at the exterior of the building. Seeing a tree with a wooden table she pointed.
"That would be a good spot"
Taking quicker steps towards the table she swung her messenger bag to the front of her body and stepped on the bench that people would normally sit on and twisted her body, taking a seat on the top of the table. Bringing her bag to her side with a thump on the table and patted beside her giving him an option of sitting or standing.
"So two weeks huh?"
She looked around at the grounds.
"That doesn't seem like long. I've heard they always have students transfer in here through out the year. Its probably hard on the teachers trying to play catchup with the students all the time. So where did you use to live since you just got here around two weeks ago?"

Pine began to laugh as Nora talked about teachers playing catch up with all the new transfers. There was no doubt that Nora had never been to a school like this before. She seemed to be missing the concept of teachers not caring about students. She must have gone to a very nice school before this if her teachers were able to play catch up with all the new enrollments that take place.
"You seem to have a misconception of where you are Nora." Pine began sitting on the actual bench part of the table on the opposite side to where Nora was sitting. "This school is a place for troubled children that should not really be in a normal school. You see Hircine much like Varron has a reputation for taking in trash and trying to recycle it into something useful. Of course you run into the problem that not all trash can be recycled. In that case you have schools like Paragon where lost causes go to live out the rest of their high school days. So the teachers here really could care less about who you are or where you came from."
Pine felt slightly bad for having to put it to her in such a blunt manner but that was the only way he knew to explain it. Then again at the same time he wondered how she would take the reality of her situation. "Though I should tell most of the people here, though pricks, are virtually non-violent. Only some of us carry on fighting while the rest try to move on with their lives."

As Pine explained the how the school worked or rather what she should expect she was kinda disappointed.
"My math teacher seemed so nice. I wouldn't know if she was just doing it because or if she wanted to. Course I think she was a bit surprised I was able to do my paper so quickly."
She sighed slightly at the slight disappointment that the teachers wouldn't be what she may have been used to back in middle school. She had high hopes that High school was going to be the time of her life. That it was something she was going to remember forever, that's how it had always been perceived to her. How Pine expressed it, it seemed as if it was going to be a large disappointment. Maybe it was not too soon to long for home.
"Varron? Like Hircine?"
She contemplated that for a minute. Not really knowing where Varron was, but she could have guessed that it was a highschool just as this one.
"How can people be so mean and walk around being so angry all the time. I mean I can't be upset for more than a minute before moving on. I never thought being a teenager would change a person so much that in a way they loose their innocence. Not saying they were perfect angels as little kids. But what would provoke a person into pursuing that in life. It seems in a way, depressing. To always have to prove yourself by how hard you can hit something or take a hit."
She put started digging into her bag, grabbing at the loose papers. Looking at them trying to rearrange them into the correct order.
"I was always told that violence wasn't the answer to solve your problems. That aggression shouldn't be praised or worshiped. I don't see how anyone could not see that hurting another person regardless of what they have done isn't in itself wrong."
She looked at Pine, looking at his scars.
"I know you probably think me wrong in saying it but again my background was probably all flowers and gumdrops compared to some..."

(OOC: Sorry for the late reply, been busy)
"You're right, your life probably has been like flowers compared to the rest of us. That is not exactly a bad thing when you think of it. I mean it gives you a different perspective so don't worry to much about it." Pine said and looked up at the sky.
The weather was nice here. In New York or Canada it would be getting rather cold by now. Here by the bay it was warm and pleasant, Pine hated it. He liked the cold, the snow, being able to see his breath in the wind. The fact the other sex liked to share body heat when it got cold. There were many reasons why the cold was good. Still it wasn't that bad, Pine liked not having to need a jacket yet. Plus the blue sky looked rather nice today.
"I really couldn't tell you why your math teacher was nice to you, maybe it was genuine. All I know is my teachers see scars and that's all they see. It isn't a matter of which way is better to solve a problem it is more along the lines of what people understand. You see many people understand a fist to the face much better than stop. They say the pen is mightier than the sword or words are the most dangerous weapon you have. Personally both are only half right, the pen is only as mighty as the sword used to enforce it and my words hold more sway because I can fight. See everything is relative you need to have both in order to get anywhere."
