CRACK...BOOM
CRACK...BOOM
CRACK...BOOM
This sound is all that could be heard as the large trees cracked and dropped one after the other. Standing alone in the forest, Joey Trueno was subjecting himself to yet another day of his own brand of training. Dirt and sweat covered his body as he hacked away at each tree with only his bare hands. He had been coming out here for this purpose for months as part of his effort to force his body into the best shape he had ever been in. There wasn't any one thing that he had been conditioning himself for all this time, all he knew was that when the time came this would all pay off. Besides, he had failed his junior year by a long shot and as consequence was now being made to do it over. There wasn't much hope for him any more as far as becoming a successful intellectual. He was better off sticking to what he had been doing all his life, using his body to solve his problems.
He knocked one more tree down before climbing atop a nearby rock for a short rest. Blood flowed freely through the tape he had wound around his hands. Splinters and cuts were apparent all over both of his clenched fists. By now he was used to this treatment of himself and had gotten quite good at ignoring the pain.
As he sat he thought about the last couple years. So much had happened to him in such a short time. It had completely altered the course of his life in just about every way imaginable. Yet it wasn't long before he realized exactly how boring things had been for him lately. He hadn't seen any of his old friends in a long time and it made him wonder what happened that made him such a loner over the past few months.
He had heard about all sorts of things that had been happening lately around his school, one being that fact that another school had opened and taken many of Hircine's students with it. 'Maybe I should get back into action.' he thought to himself, unable to see why he hadn't played a part in these events. He could certainly hold his own in sticky situations now that he was in such good shape, and it would be nice to get back in touch with the world he was once a part of.
'That settles it then.' he thought as he jumped off the rock, invigorated. 'Time to remind everyone of my name!'
