WHAM!
The sound of echoed throughout the gym, Kyukaku's right leg returning to the back of his stance as his roundkick snapped back from the heavy bag. He snapped out his left hand in a jab, throwing his right knee forward as his hand returned to guard. Circling the bag, Kyukaku kicked out with his left foot, following up with jab, cross, hook, cross combination.
It had been tough, but Kyukaku was getting his wind back almost to his peak. It had hurt to breathe for a good while after cracking several ribs during the Watcher Riot. Jumping on riot gear-hornet's nest would do that, as Kyukaku had jumped in front of that blast, taking several of the pellets to shield others. It was one of his many injuries given do to his selfless nature, and Kyu was lucky to be coming back from this one full force. Regardless, Kyukaku wouldn't have done a single thing different.
After a good warm up, Kyukaku moved back over to his gym bag, taking off his gloves and setting them inside. Barefoot in black and white striped adidas pants and a black wife beater, Kyukaku had left his street clothes back in the boy's lockerroom. He took a swig of gatorade before capping it and shoving it back in his bag. Looking around, the gym was mostly empty besides a few people here and there.
Back in Varron, Kyukaku was an up and coming name. He hung around several of the old school legends, and he even battled toe to toe with most of them. When he got to Hircine, however, Kyukaku had kept a low profile. Whether he was looking for trouble or not, it had found him regardless. He went from coast to coast, yet that didn't keep Trent Davis from hunting him down, and burying him alive. Trying to keep the peace in school had only brought him under the scope of the Watcher's, making him yet another prime target. Kyukaku couldn't help but feel regret for several of the decisions, or lack thereof, he had made in the past year. But that was all about ot change.
This year, Kyukaku would take the initiative to keep everyone safe.
Kyukaku stood up, sliding his palms to his thighs to wipe off the sweat from the bag gloves. Kyukaku began to lightly bounce from foot to foot, getting the blood flowing again as he moved his neck from side to side. He began to go through a couple of his favorite katas from Isshin Ryu Karate. He was about to begin another, when he began to look around noticing several pairs of eyes travelling his way.
Ugh. Guess if you want to be school captain you'll have to get over your dislike of the limelight.

"Kid's pretty strong....I wonder if he's in with the school's hierarchy, it seems so, based of his fighting....We'll have to find out."
Watching the young man pound at the heavy bag made something stir within Santiago, he kept listening to his music, but also concentrated on the kid's finesse. His movements were very well-thought out, Santiago turned his head back to the wall he was near, he continued to shadow box, flexing his boxing muscle, he had been thinking of mixing his styles more so he started today as he shadow boxed.
Bouncing from toe to toe, he relaxed his body completely to the point of laziness, he felt himself loose but heavy at the same time, as if his movement would throw him off balance, but he knew that meant he was ready to begin his katas. He moved his feet forward a few inches each, then planting his left foot he lifted his right foot and shot out a fast and strong side kick, then bringing his foot back down he planted his left foot and pivoted his body to the left and shot a back kick, planting his left foot again he regained his guard and extended his left arm in a quick snap jab followed by a right cross, right jab, left hook, left front kick and a left roundhouse.
Breathing in and out slowly he paced his heart and relaxed himself again, looking around at the few faces in the gym Santiago saw threw most of them, not really caring who they were, then his eyes came upon the kid he was watching before, thinking for a moment (Let's see how this kid acts? he looks cool, might be wrong though.), he grabbed his gym bag and his sneakers and began to approach the young man.
Walking at a steady pace he managed to hear what the guy muttered, which made Santiago raise an eyebrow and pause....(This kid is the School captain....Nah, can't be....Guess I'll have to ask.) Stopping near the guy he dropped his bag and sneakers and approached the young man saying....
"Mind if I wail on this bag for a little bit? Or are you still at?"
He would gauge the guy's unapproachability from his response, but Santiago felt as he had to ask the guy another question, just to get of off his chest, extending a hand to the young man, he introduced himself....
"Oh sorry for my bad manners, Names Santiago Castrillon. And whats your name Homie?"

As Kyukaku stopped moving, most of the pairs of eyes went back to focus on their own activity. However, it seemed not all the attention had shifted away from Kyukaku, as one of the guys working out had approached him. Kyukaku looked up from his own gym bag, standing up before replying.
"Nah man, its cool. Go for it."
In truth, Kyukaku was about to go work on the bag some more, but he didn't need to be a heavy bag hog. First lesson learned in school: its good to share. As Santiago extended his hand, Kyukaku did the same, gripping it firmly and shaking twice before letting his hand drop back to his side.
"I'm Tyler, or Kyukaku, depending on who you're talking to. Either is cool with me. Are you knew here? I don't recognize you, but hey, I've only been here a year myself."
(OOC: Told you I suck at small talk.)

(OOC:Dude Makes no difference, it'll pick up.)
IC: Santiago gripped Kyukaku's hand firmly and shook it until it was let go, then he said....
"Nice to meet you Kyu....Me? New, well it is my first year here, but I've been here since the first day, just been laying low, you know how this school is....Fuck around and get fuck up, but I've been making my connections and now I can build my rep in this school, can't graduate without being know, though it's in a couple of years."
Approaching the heavy bag Santiago got in his boxing stance, hands up near face and his head lowered slightly behind his hands, then he shot his right hand in a strong cross and returning it just as quickly, immediately after that he sent a hard left hook to the bag and sent it swinging to the left and back down, as it came down Santiago met the bag with his left knee when it came down completely, a loud smack was heard, after the noise Santiago planted his left foot again and switched his stance, then he brought his right leg around for a powerful round house and sent the bag swinging eighty degrees to the right.....
"Ehh that was a little sloppy, i've been slacking.....Let me get another whack at this."
Santiago got back into his boxing stance and snapped his left hand out in a fast left jab, followed by a strong right cross, jab, jab, hook, knee combination. Each move hit accurately and rocked the bag each time contact was made, grinning Santiago stepped back from the bag and looked over to Kyukaku, he motioned him to come to the bag saying....
"Let'em have it Kyu, get to work man....After your turn I wanna propose something."

Kyukaku nodded along as Santiago spoke, not really having anything to add for the moment. He suggested that he was an underclassman by not graduating for a few years. He didn't pay too much mind to the part of building a reputation. Kyukaku himself didn't like to go out seeking such a thing, though if he looked back on a couple of years ago, it was probably the exact thing he did do. Regardless, if this one was good enough to build a reputation, it would build whether he wanted it to or not.
As Santiago went to the bag, Kyukaku began to watch his stance and his moves carefully. The stance and the hand combinations seemed to derive from Jeet Kune Do, or perhaps some mimic of it. However, with the knee strikes, it suggested some sort of freestyle mixed into it. With the mentioning of being sloppy, Kyukaku smirked, thinking Santiago was just joking coming up with an excuse. However, with the next series, Kyukaku was a bit more impressed. The first set wasn't bad, the second set was good.
Kyukaku smiled when Santiago looked back, showing that he was impressed with the man's movements. At the next suggestion, Kyukaku nodded slowly, beginning to uncross his arms as he took a few steps forward. He hopped forward on his right foot, moving his left foot forward and planting it as he spun clockwise, gaining extra momentum. Chambering his right leg by bringing his knee to his chest, Kyukaku would spin 180 degrees before exploding his foot backwards into his own variation of a spnning back kick. His heel would drive in and upwards, moving the bag up as far as the chain would allow before it would drop back down rather noisily. It was Kyukaku's most powerful move: the wheel-kick.
"Done." He smiled at Santiago, his curiousity causing him to end his bag session asap. "So what's this proposition?"

Watching him deliver a devastating back kick to the bag he arched an eyebrow in surprise as the bag was knocked up with ease, Santiago grinned because he knew he was in for some fun after Kyu's session. To his surprise Kyukaku had stopped hitting the bag and had turned back to Santiago asking him what he had in mind for his proposition. Smiling at him Santiago stood up from the padded floor and took a step toward Kyukaku, pausing for a moment he spoke....
"Well I need to shake some cobwebs off a bit. So how about a good spar? We each had good warm ups, so why leave that effort to waste, let's use the energy. Or are you opposed to the idea?"
Santiago stood there waiting for Kyukaku's response, it was a a random suggestion but what Santiago said was true, he needed a good practice session, can't let his skills deteriorate just because of lack of a sparring partner. Looking around he saw the other people staring at them, naturally he assumed they heard what he said, Santiago shrugged and payed them no mind. Looking back at Kyu he took this time to warm up a little bit more, stretching his legs a bit he felt his muscles relax and loosen a last bit, standing back up he stretched his arms and began to bounce on the balls of his feet and dance around a bit to get his rhythm going for his stance....
"Well man are you ready to begin to do you want to stretch out a bit more, I'd rather not be more limber then my opponent, but it's up to you Home boy."
(OOC: Short but it get the point across.)

(OOC: Sorry, busy weekend.)
"Why not?"
Kyukaku shrugged, agreeing to a spar. Just as Santiago wanted to, Kyu was also getting back into shape and a spar would be good for that. As Santiago began to stretch, Kyukaku crouched by his bag once more, pulling out his fingerless padded gloves he slipped them back on his hands. It was just a spar, so if Kyukaku connected with his fists, it would be better for Santiago this way. Kyukaku wouldn't want to mess up his face and ruin his chances for a date afterall.
"I'm stretched out already, no worries."
Kyukaku would back up from Santiago, allowing him to do the same if he wished. Giving enough time for Santiago to set himself, Kyukaku would get in stance himself. Leading with his left foot, Kyukaku's right foot would be off at a 45 degree angle behind him. Both hands kept in a half-open, half-closed fists, Kyu's right would be at rest just under his jaw, while his left arm would hold position just below his chest.
Once he saw Santiago was ready, Kyukaku would close the distance. Landing with his left foot in front once again, Kyukaku's left arm would ratchet from the elbow, snapping up in a quick backfist in a whipping motion that would rise to strike the nose, and lower itself back into guard just as quick as it came out. While it wasn't a terribly strong attack, it was very quick, and if it struck the nose, it wouldn't need too much power behind the attack to do any damage.

While Kyukaku slid his gloves on he prepared himself for the match which was about to commence, he was already in his stance, leading with his right foot he bounced up and down lightly, arms perpendicular to Kyukaku's. He began to breath slowly and deeply to relax himself more, Santiago watched him get into stance and close the distance between them, he readied himself for a strike in any direction.
Seeing Kyu extending his arm out as the distance between them was closed, Santiago brought his right arm up to his eye level and outward to stop the arm short making it contact with his right forearm, at that same moment he would grip his opponent left wrist and pull on it drawing his opponent close, then bringing his left knee up quickly he would strike his opponent in the ribs with a strong knee, if he managed to connect the hit uninterrupted.

Quick or not, Kyukaku never expected his first strike to land in a pre-announced fight. It would never have the element of surprise, for unlike a real fight, there was no doubt an attack would be thrown. The fixation would be on one another, waiting to keep that first move from landing, which is exactly what Santiago had done. However, knowing this would happen in advance, Kyukaku had only meant to probe his opponent into action and this, Kyu had done.
Since The backfist was meant to be quick with the ratchet motion, it would already be on the backlash after colliding with Santiago's forearm. Santiago would still be able to grab the wrist, but not after Kyukaku's hand was halfway back to his chest. By moving forward, Kyukaku would close the distance, gaining the close quarters for his next move.
Following the backfist, Kyu's arm would already be in position to strike. Torquing hard to the right as he moved in, Kyukaku's elbow would glide over Santiago's arm, colliding with the right side of the man's head. Unbeknowest to Kyu, this would prevent Santiago's knee from ever landing. In order to keep from falling, Santiago would need to lower his leg back for balance. If not, the elbow would send him to the ground, likley still before the knee would be able to land.

As Santiago's knee was in motion he noticed kyu's shoulder shift, he knew this signified an attack, but he didn't have enough time to prevent the attack, so he decided to move into the attack to lessen the force of the hit and to have more balance to strike in such close quarters. As his elbow came up and connected with the side of Santiago's head, to stop himself from falling he planted his foot again, this let Santiago recover a lot faster and it let him strike much quicker since they were so close.
While Kyu's elbow was retracting Santiago took advantage of his recovery, with his right hand free again he sent a quick jab toward his stomach, expecting a defense but still hoping the attack would land, Santiago thought quickly of a separate attack to come with is Kyu managed to stop his first attack.

The elbow connected cleanly, probably disorienting Santiago a bit. Still, his sparring partner was able to blast out another jab relatively quickly. However, Kyukaku wasn't standing still himself. Immediately following the contact of the elbow strike, Kyukaku began to pull his arm back as he torque to the left, blasting out his prepared right hand in a powerful straight cross.
With the torque, Santiago's jab would lose power even if it connected, as Kyukaku's torso would be shifting away from the strike in order to send his own. With his elbow coming back to guard, it was also highly possible that it would bump into Santiago's forearm, deflecting the arm slightly to the side to lose more power that would result in a harmless hit. Almost the same time Santiago's jab would land, Kyukaku's straight would land as well. It would be near impossible for a doge, given Santiago just planting his foot and therefore unable to shift his momentum quick enough. If all went according to plan, Kyukaku's right fist would land inbetween the nose and the lips, striking the fulcrum on the head for a devastating strike.
