Darkness. Never ending darkness. So this was what blind people were forced to look at everyday of their lives. A dark tunnel that never seemed to end. What a terrible fate, forced on to them unwillingly. Ryou continued to stare into the dark tunnel, until he felt he had to open his eyes, anything to get away from the darkness. Slowly, he opened his eyes, the light blinding him, making him wince, until he adjusted to the brightness. At first he didn't recognize his surroundings, everything around him was white. " Talk about monotone, where am I?" he thought groggily, looking to his left, he was facing a window that gave him a good view of the city below, then looked to his right, and saw his sister sleeping in the chair beside him.
He tried to sit up, but a sharp pain coursed through his body, making him wince and cry out in pain. His sister jolted out from her sleep, and cried out in shock as she saw Ryou trying to sit up. " Ryou!" she stood up and rushed to his side, " Don't try to sit up, or your wound won't heal!" " Arrgh...wh...where am I?" he asked, giving up and just flopped back on the bed. " The hospital, where else?" " Wh..what!?" " Was...was my injuries that bad?" Ryou thought, lying his hand on his chest, where he felt bandages wrapped around his upper body. " Just what in the hell happened?"

The doctor and nurses bursted through the Emergency doors, an unconcious Ryou on the bed they were wheeling, his heart rate stabilized, for the moment. " Get him to the X-Ray room immediately! I want to see just what in the hell is going on!" the doctor ordered. They reached the X-ray room, and immediately transferred Ryou onto the X-ray machine. The doctor powered up the machine, and immediately Ryou was moved into the tube. Ryou was analyzed from every angle, the doctor wanting to find out what made this healthy kid's heart rate increase at a rapid rate in mere moments. The doctor's eyes slide across the screen in front of him, taking in every angle. While the mood was calm yet tense in the X-ray room, outside, hell was erupting.
- Waiting Room -
Amy was crying silently, her sobs long silenced, as a young hospital worker sat beside her, looking at her worriedly, but not quite sure how to comfort the girl. An older women who worked at the hospital as well walked over, and laid her hand on the young man, telling him she would take over. He looked up, and nodded as he got up and walked away. She sat down beside Amy and placed her arm around Amy, hugging her comfortingly. Amy sobbed in her shoulder silently. " Onii-chan, please be okay..." Amy thought as she cried.
- 2 hours later -
A tired and haggard Doctor Jackson came out of the Emergency doors, wiping sweat of his face. Amy rushed up to him, a worried look on her face. Trevor looked at her, blinking momentarily, before his face broke into a look of relief. " He's fine, we figured out what was wrong with him. We managed to stabilize his heart rate, but he won't be waking up for a good few hours." he told them, as she sighed in relief. " We'll be able to see him tomorrow." " What was wrong with Ryou?" Amy asked her dad. Trevor paused for a minute, looking like he was trying to figure out the best way to describe it. " Well, the injuries he was inflicted with from his spar wasn't the cause, it was actually something different. How should I put it? An old wound that we thought had healed was opened up in the fight, but we found it, operated on it, and now it'll heal properly. The pressure exerted on it was the cause." he finished explaining. " He'll be fine, don't worry okay?" " O..okay dad."
- Present -
" You were out for a day and most of the morning." Amy told her brother, as he looked over at her. " Well, I have to go, dad'll see you later, probably in the evening. Get some rest, don't try to move, and don't try to sit up okay?" she told him, as she turned and headed towards the door. " Yeah yeah...mom." he teased, he may have been down, but he wasn't as hell out. Amy smiled at her brother, and closed the door behind her. Ryou stared at the ceiling, his front hair falling into his eyes. " So I was out for that long? That sucked." Ryou thought. Being alone now, gave him some time to think about the match with Odin. Looking back on it, he realized he hadn't given it his best shot. His all maybe, but his best? Nope, not even in the slightest. " Damn, looks like I'll have to work harder, I don't think my match with Odin even gave him a workout. But I did learn a lot from that match, something that all the karate tournaments in the world wouldn't be able to show me." he thought, lost in his thoughts. The sound of the door opening would jolt Ryou from his train of thought.
" Who's there?"
