This thread was done way back in April and, as you know, people have come and gone since then. So, I decided to revive this thread to see your opinions. For now here is mine.
#1. Shamino- I've never heard of a better fighter except Shamino. Dain can fight him, but I picked Shamino because Dain has lost fights.
#2. Dain
#3. Taiku
#4. Pain Killer
#5. Kyukaku
#6. Odin
#7. Auroth
#8. Ein
#9. Alkaiser
#10. A large list of people that I don't feel like naming at 2 am.

This might start looking redundant if the same people show up on there, usually the same order, whether or not they've fought any...
I think it'd be a little more interesting if there were different categories according to the styles they use... Like counters, overall, opening moves, finishers, "length of fight", the list goes on.
But that's just me.

Relentless
Vicious
Sadistic
Honorable
Friendly
Fair
__________
Would be a few categories to pick off. Valencia can probably think of more.
EDIT: Ein fits into each of these categories...

I think I provided enough examples as is to get the ball rolling. Of course the XIN Awards are somewhat more unique in that aspect, but since this is more fight oriented, there can be most recognizable newcomer, underdog, relentless/vicious/sadistic/brutal, others Kyousuke listed, should fight more often, inventive, fun... Etcetera.
What I'm getting at is categories that aren't "obviously go to a specific person practically all the time" and will get some variety in.
^^; (I have a weird feeling that an endurance or attrition category might automatically go to Ein Gilsin.)
Oo; I have nothing against people maintaining standings, but carressing egos gets old... No matter how flattering it is to be a different name. I hope this made sense.

This thread never gets old exactly, but it does get repetitive after awhile. But hey, it gets us going, right?
I can't give you all ten, but Shamino, Taiku, and Dain steal the show as the top three at least. Shamino and Taiku for obvious reasons, and Dain for being the only person I've seen who was able to push Shamino to a point where his character actually got frustrated in a tourney.
I wonder if anyone will ever create a list of the WORST fighters. God knows I would DEFINITELY qualify, given how most of my matches end in draws, a small few have ended in losses, and the rest were broken off and left for dead (these include the Varron posts). Also, my character's fighting style is so based off of reacting instantaneously to everything thrown his way rather than an actual counter/strategy/offensive/defensive/ANY kind of real style that it's more a matter of waiting until the other RPer runs out of ideas for him to land a hit (although I'm breaking away from this and improving Vic's style towards a more realistic form of combat).
Sorry to sound histrionic, but if there was a category of "Bottom Ten Fighters" Victor would qualify, at least for now.

I wonder if anyone will ever create a list of the WORST fighters. Funny thing is, I was just about to do exactly that. My main problem with the idea is the risk of it turning into insults or flame wars, but if we keep it strictly objective I think it could work.

Oi. My mind might be stuck in tournament mode, cause I can't help but cringe at some of the placings for some people, but that's primarily from tournament information.
Small triangle for everyone to understand... Well, sort of. Like, in tournament perspective Dain's beaten Shamino, but Tyler's beaten Dain, and Odin's beaten Tyler.
I'd give a list, but simply don't feel like it at this point... That, and it would be to....award like. I'd have a tournament fighters list, street fighters list... catagories... etc etc.

Should I just post up a new set of XIN awards then, folks?

Should I just post up a new set of XIN awards then, folks? Depends, is there going to be an entirely new section dictating fighting and it's styles/personalities? Cause that, as I understand it, is what Valencia and the other's are getting at... And you know, The rest would be nice too.

Well, I wasn't going to just post up the exact same awards as last time....I'll keep a number of the categories, but I'll be expanding the 'combat' category to include the above ideas along with a few extra things. Also, if folk have ideas for 'joke' questions like we did last time, please submit them to my inbox. I thought it was an amusing idea last time, and most of you seemed to take to it as well.

New joke categories? I'd suggest best hair, but that's only because I think I would win. I mean, who else is widely identified around campus just for his hair?
Hmmm...I think that there really needs to be a 'most creative fighter' category. Someone who doesn't necessarily need to always win, but they need to have a dynamic repertoire of maneuvers that always keeps their opponents guessing. Also consider a 'most fun to fight' listing.
P.S. XIN Awards! I like those! Go for it!

I remember the "Most likely to have been trained by Batman" award. That one made me laugh because it made me wonder how that fighter would fair against the "Best Fighter" award recipient since somebody trained by the Dark Knight would also be a monster in combat.
How about a "Most likely to have been secretly trained by Ra's al Ghul" award? By the way; I'm referring the DC comics version, not the movie version of Ra's since he was WAY more dangerous than the movie version.
