It's a simple question, one that I've been going over in my head while driving to strangers houses this evening. What would I do if I woke up and I was buried alive? This question comes from watching half of part one of CSI where Nick Stokes gets kidnapped and put in a glass case, as well as the fact that I bought both Kill Bill movies today. Coincidence? I think so. But the road block is this, Why? Why would I be buried alive? I hardly have a life to begin with, let alone an interesting one. Work, sleep, game, work. With a schedule like mine it's hard to see why I'd find myself in that position, especially since I don't work as hired muscle or a drug lord. So then I moved on past that question to: What would my character do if he was buried alive? My conclusion, the same thing Nick Stokes did. Try to pound my way out and scream for help...At least until the light turned on So, while most of the character on this board would have a similar conclusion, I'm sure, I'm wondering if their's a personality quirk in your character that would make them act different. Would they be calm? Would they try to formulate a plan? What would your character do if he/she woke up to find themself buried alive?

Kyousuke would be calm. Distract himself by thinking on the why. To remove himself from the ground he would continue to beat on one place until the boards would give way or the earth would move enough to let him slip out and claw his way to the surface.
But in all honesty unless you wake up within ten minutes I highly doubt anyone would knock a hole in a modern casket or dislodge set dirt by pushing it. Not to mention the fact that you'll lose consciousness as your air supply is sucked away.

Never said there would be a way out. Unless there's a ransom your most likely screwed, thus going to die.

Ah I see. Yeah, true enough. Screaming, no. Beating out, no. If you can't push out yet, then your just plain screwed...

Text message hits on every single major or minor crime boss in the city and use one of the several knives to cut and crawl out.

... <_< How many people would bury you alive and leave you a cellphone and a knife?

All of them.

All of them. I'm Shamino Warhen. Nor did he state we were stripped of any items. I think that was quite a reply. You have to remember two things about people getting buried alive: either your murderer-to-be simply threw you in without any resources expecting you to die, or they threw you in there with some sort of resource to potentially escape. The use of a coffin for burying someone alive is either a suffering or psychotic technique, so you either have a slim chance, or no chance in hell. Even then, your only real chance is to hope that the murderer is an egotistic dick head and leaked out his deeds to someone note worthy for a game, or that the murderer is playing a game for your friends to play, where your survival lays in the balance. Leon, I'd imagine, is the type who would wake up, stare at the darkness for a moment, go into a mental breakdown where his heart is pumping and his conscious voice is literally yelling in fear, before his superego finally gains control and tells him to start searching for clues as to whether he has a chance to live or not. Finding some sort of oxygen supply is the first hint, followed by a cell phone, or a note, or a weapon or sorts, etc. If there's no oxygen tank, that doesn't mean you're doomed, but that just cut your chances to be very slim. And if you can't find any tools, you're practically doomed to death. The only thing left from there would be to try as best as he could at ramming the door open, which is also left to chance regarding if the psychopath buried him in a deep grave, a shallow grave, a metallic coffin, or even in a chamber of some sort that he threw into the water. If it's the latter, he'd most likely give in and spend the last moments of his life in fear, thinking of all the things he missed, and likely grieve for that loss before the painful death finally took him; if it was a wooden grave in a shallow or deep grave, there's a better chance, especially if it's still a fresh grave. In any case, he'd at least try to think sense after a while, but I think any human being, fictional or real, would definitely freak out in some way or form, before finally allowing their survival instincts kick in, and if there's nothing left, most wont' give up until the very end, they'll start bashing that door as best they can and press all their weight against it with unnatural strength.

If the person who put him there did so to kill him? Maverik would die. No one would think much of his disappearance for a while since he's been known to just up and vanish from time to time. However if this was after his daughter was born, then perhaps his absence would be looked into more carefully...
If there was some game involved, be it for his friends or himself, he would find a way out. He would stay calm as long as the oxygen was thick enough to permit him. And once he started to run out, he would slip deep into his mind and try to pull together whatever extra strength Dead Eye could provide. Depending on the coffin and the depth at which he was buried, he would either burst out with sheer force or die as Dead Eye violently attacked the coffin with no restraint as to how badly he hurt his own body in the process.

Once he came to terms with his own death, Alkaiser would Burst into rage, screaming about how he was supposed to be killed by a great fighter, destiny and all that garbage. Then he'd start mercilessly pounding the door and depleting his oxygen supply. His logic tends to go out the window when he gets angry... And by the way, Sham, if you had a cell, why wouldn't you just call someone to come dig you out? Any cell phone that the eccentric billionaire Shamino Warhen owns is sure to have GPS capabilities, and digging your way out would surely soil whichever thousand dollar suit you may be wearing that day

Zeniro would pity the fool who had the balls to bury him.
He would get out, and he would go on a rampage.

Shamino would show his manliness by being able to dig himself out of a premature grave. I thought that was obvious =/

Shamino is 5'9"-ish and around 160 lbs (I haven't gone to your bio to be precise, but my personal memory is telling me that's close, if nothing else).
Manliness or not, anyone capable of digging themself out the sort of grave being discussed here would need to be built like the late Ajax. Nuff said.
Hell, I doubt even Zeniro would have the strength to claw through the combined weight and pressure of all that soil, not to mention you'd suffocate due to unfiltered air. Sucks, I know.
And for the record, Taiku would likely panic and die, considering he has claustrophobic issues.

Seth would spontaneously explode, destroying everything in a thirty yard radius.

Scream, thrash, then die sobbing.
Sidebar: I think Shamino would be far more manly if he called no one, dug his way out, then killed the persons who may have been the ones to bury him all dirty and shirtless-like. Very Hollywood.

In a complete contrast to the tough guy he thinks he is, Pain Killer would go out the same way he came into this world; crying, screaming, and thrashing like a little baby on crack.
