Standing up on the roof, Magnus' tall frame looked out over the school grounds. Down there the people with true emotions walked around feeling true joy, remorse, hatred, love... And Magnus had nothing he could call real. He saw something through the corner of his eye, a rather beautiful girl, he ignored her for now and closed his eyes too much to distract him from keeping his balance. It was tough enough to stand on the edge, only held up by his arms.
A strong sudden gust of wind nearly made him come out of balance.
Better wrap this up before I make the headlines tomorrow. Transfer plunges to death from roof.
Magnus let his point of balance fall back. His biceps and abdomen taking his body weight as he gently lowered his right foot down on the ground again. From there, it was easy to get up and stand normally. Although, his eyes were still closed, he welcomed the darkness.
When will something exciting happen around here?

Stress was the feeling Aden had held onto today. His classes were getting for in depth as the year went through and he was finding it increasingly harder to keep up, like every average student. Studying was to be done as soon as he got home, but he wasn’t looking forward to it. Aden through his books in his bag and subsequently threw that in his locker before looking for a little peace from the groups of chattering students that were pounding the inside of his head.
Aden made his way to the rooftop stairs. The winter air was fresh and the wind was free from any obstacles up their. The fresh breeze would surely feel nice on his exposed skin. He walked up the stairs, reaching the door, opening it with a push of the long handle and was exposed to the cool winter air. With his jacket in tact took sight of anyone nearby.
Being a rather large building, it was hard to spot anyone right away, but sure enough he was able to spot one or two people off in the distance and one male student close to him. With the large school population, it was hard to know everyone’s name and face and the man beside him was no exception. The wind blew as he took a brief look at man. It had a slightly warm feeling, showing that spring was indeed on its way. A good thought with all the snow surrounding the people on the streets lately. As Aden and the other man made eye contact, he found it obligatory to nod and introduce himself, extending his hand as a gesture to shake.
“Hey, Aden Allett.”

He heard someone new enter the roof and he ignored it at first, it didn't bother him if anyone else was up here. After all, he hadn't been alone to begin with and people had been dropping in and out. Another gust of wind struck him, and he wanted to go back inside before he got a cold. His jacket was still hanging in his locker where he had left it this morning. As he turned around he got eye contact with the boy who, he presumed, had just entered the roof. Before Magnus had been able to start moving the boy had raised his hand for a formal hand shake. In India, he had always disliked touching the people with anything but a fist. Here in America, he would have to touch them, why not start with the first bum that talked to him?
"Hey there Aden, Magnus Dane."
He grabbed his hand and gave it a firm shake before letting go of it. Feeling relieved that it hadn't been greasy like some of the Indians. Feeling even more relieved that he hadn't spoken with an Indian accent. Even though he had lived in India for roughly 2 years, he had refused to speak like them. A matter of principal.
"You know, I'm new to this school, and I was actually wondering if someone could tell me how this school works. All I know is what the newspapers tell me, and I think we both know how reliable that information is."
Strangers weren't the most reliable people to get information from, but right now he didn't have a choice and it would take too long to get information by overhearing gossip. Because Aden had approached Magnus, then he felt he could trust his information to some extent, if he was willing to give it.

"Hey there Aden, Magnus Dane."
Aden heard the man get an introduction back to Aden as their hands clasped into a firm shake, letting go soon afterwards. The man continued to talk, however, saying how he was new to the school and looking for someone to give him, what some would call, the “411.” Aden wasn’t big on information, unfortunately so he didn’t have much to tell the man.
“You’re right. You can never trust the press. I have never personally read the newspaper here besides the funny pages, but I am assuming there isn’t all truth in there.”
Aden had always been a skeptical person, leaving him to not always being able to do much, hence the nagging feeling of boredom that would strike him regularly, crawling up his spine like until it hit the back of his head, causing he to grow flustered and stressed. It wasn’t pleasant.
“I can’t really say much on how this school is run. Act appropriately, do your schoolwork and such. That’s usually what they want, but it is hard to find some that actually follow these rules. Large amounts of rebellion are known to catch the eye of the wrong people so I’d watch out for that.”
Aden was part of Revelation, a group that wanted to take down the current power more than any other, but he didn’t bring it up with people he just met, nor people he knew. It was something personal to him.
“So where are you from?” He asked curiously.

"I see, and if I eat my vegetables I'll stay healthy forever. I know the usual workings, I meant what was underneath the obvious, oh and who are these wrong people? And who I should avoid ticking off. I'd rather not get into a fight over nothing."
... not.
He let the words sink in a little before he chose to respond to Aden's question. He smiled, fake, and gestured for Aden to join him at the edge so they wouldn't have to stand and look directly at each other as in some sort of stand off. Magnus started to turn around and his elbows would rest down on the railings. When they both, if Aden accepted his invite. Stood against the railing he would answer the question.
"Well, I was born in Norway... Some place in Europe, wouldn't be surprised if you don't know about it. But I've lived in many countries before we finally moved here."
That was really a boiled down version of how many times he had moved, but Aden would be bored witless if he had to hear all the countries he had been to. Actually, he only needed to visit Antarctica and then he had visited all the continents. ... Not a small feat to do when you're not even allowed to drink yet. Not that he would ever start to drink, he had experienced enough drunk people on his travels to know that it couldn't be healthy your system.

Aden stated the obvious ideas of the rules already, but it seemed Magnus wanted to know more. However, there wasn’t much else to think of really. Stay out of the watchers way unless you want to become a problem. Aden had been in their way before and he knew first hand, but that was what made it so fun. He looked at Magnus, obviously wanting to know as much as he could. Aden leaned back on the rail before speaking.
“The Principle has he own enforcement group he calls the watchers. You do anything violently wrong and chances are they will be up in your face sooner or later. Most of them aren’t pushover’s either.”
As he and Magnus now stood at the railing, he took Aden’s question, answering it with what seemed like a brief summary. That was fine, however. Aden didn’t really want to hear a whole history, just going through first introductions. Norway was a ways away that was sure and Aden didn’t know much about the foreign. His history of other countries wasn’t as great as his history here. America good, other places bad. That was what they were taught, really.
“I know the hardships of moving, but I doubt I have done it as much as you. Your parents in the military or something?”
Aden wasn’t sure if he was sending a barrage of questions or if these were fine. He wasn’t used to meeting new people all the time so first impressions never really mattered to him. He said what he wanted for the sake of his own curiosity. A breeze came by, chilling Aden slightly, but it felt good. He knew, however, that he would have to head in soon, his body temperature slowly lowering due to the cold weather.
"Ugh, I wish it was spring weather already." He sighed.

"The watchers... That's just a nice word for thugs. So, what do you think of these thugs. Good or bad?"
It would appear that Magnus had either emptied Aden for information or Aden was withholding information, and a great deal of it. But this meeting had turned out useful in any case, it had confirmed what he had thought about the place. He would just have to organize an event for him to see the power of the watchers. It would be interesting to see if the beating of the principal had had an noticeable effect on their behavior. He would just need an accomplice that knew how they worked.
"Ah, no. Good guess though. My father is a business man, and my mom knew he would be gone for long periods of time, so she simply decided to move around with him, we've been nomads ever since."
He intentionally left the spring comment unanswered, only nodded slightly at it.
His eyes looked over the school yard. The front doors flew open and a sophomore came running out at top speed closely followed by a pair of watchers. The trio cut a corner and got out of their sight. It seemed that someone had made a fuzz. That wasn't so surprising. He momentarily wondered how they would punish the culprit if they got him then the thought passed and he quite frankly didn't care.
"Interesting. Is that normal around here? and more importantly, my toes are freezing off right now, would you mind if we went back in?"

Aden agreed with Magnus’ basic opinion on the Watcher’s. Pushovers is all they are; an annoyance that was being dealt with. Magnus explained what his parents did and why they moved around so much. The idea of going around so much only made Aden feel agitated. He would never be able to move all his furniture that many times. In a sense, he was just lazy.
As the doors flew opened, they both turned to see Watcher’s chasing after a student. The turned a corner and vanished from sight, but Aden only scowled in their direction. Even if he didn’t agree with them, it wasn’t any of his business most of the time. He rarely did anything unless he felt personally involved, such with gang activities or if he was asked directly for help.
“To answer your previous question, I can’t say I particularly enjoy the Watcher’s. I find their ways…excessive. And yes, that is known to happen every now and then if a student isn’t following the ‘rules.’” He made the quotation marks with his fingers, an annoyed look on his face.
Aden looked over at Magnus’ nodding his head at his question of heading inside. With that he made his way to the door, the air only getting chillier with every breeze. He opened the door, holding it for Magnus to grab and then made his way inside, heading down the stairs.
“So I have nothing to do. Any ideas?”

Interesting, I had heard that the watchers were mean, but this exceeds my wildest imagination. But Aden here seems to hold back on the information regarding the gang problem that I heard about. ... Either out of fear for them, out of ignorance or much better, because he wants me to join them. In either case, asking him any more will be more than mere curiosity. Will have to wait for someone else.
Magnus could've spared his question whether Aden liked them or not, his expression said it all. Magnus refrained from smiling and instead had a serious expression on his face. It was time to head inside and Aden led the way. Magnus followed closely behind Aden. He needed to find a reliable and constant source for information, didn't this school have some sort of underground network of information? All places had that sort, he would just have to find his entrance point. He lifted his head when Aden spoke to him... What to do... Good question.
"Depends on what you like to do. If you like to train we could head to the gym, I have to sign up for the gymnastic team in any case and the swimming team... if you have one of those, the last school I visited didn't.
... pause ....
But that probably sounds pretty dull for you. We could also go have a good cup of coffee or cacao somewhere."
By the time he was done speaking they were down the stairs and standing in the hallway, depending on Aden's reaction and what he wanted to do.
