"Now, the most basic thing to remember is, you are not looking at their fists."
The middle aged man patted his elbows, and continued to explain: "The elbow moves two and a half times slower than the fist in a punch. If you can move the elbow, you move the arm, you move the arm- you avoid the punch. And when they move their arm, they are open for attack. For instance,"
The man sent out a slow punch, and Jack mindlessly countered the man's right arm by pushing his left palm down against the forearm, and sending two slow punches to the teacher's head. The teacher, sending out a small knee, had it blocked with Jack's knee, with the price of two more false punches to the face. "You are using your biceps too much. Use only your triceps- the biceps retract the arms, and you won't be able to punch through tracing paper, let alone someone's head."
"Sorry." Jack scratched the back of his head, and re assumed his stance. "So... Like this." He said, and sent an uppercut forwards. The teacher sidestepped as his right arm pushed the upper cut away, and did a swift chop towards Jack's neck, stopping before the main artery.
"If they attack from the side, or upwards like that. move yourself so you are parallel to their arm after blocking it, and sending an attack to their blind spot. Again, but from the left."

The weight lifting class was about to take over the gym, and so he bid the teacher farewell and sat down on top of a large rubber ball, opening a bottle of Powerade and drinking the red contents down furiously. "It's certainly a different take on fighting than TKD." He said to himself audibly. "That's for sure."
