Long story short, I want to be a voice over and thus far, luck has been greatly on my side. Nonetheless, only my abilities and drive will determine how far I'll go, so along the way, I will practice and gauge my progress by working on various voice acting roles and clips. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to "advertise" other people's works, but I'll probably only do so if I have a role somewhere in there. As usual, comments and critiques are welcome since no way will I accept anything less than the best of my ability. One reason why I want to be a VA is to be one of the better voice actors out there, not contribute to bad dubs. Here is my first clip: Franziska von KarmaFor those who've played the Phoenix Wright games, you'll recognize this German prosecutor by just looking at the title of the clip. For those who don't know who Franz is, she's cocky, arrogant, and isn't afraid to whip people in court (and everywhere else), even the judge. She also has a ton of silly habits, but they aren't previewed here. Visual Reference: Franziska's Official Pose(If I get EXTREMELY bored, I might as well make visual footage one of these days...)

The voice is hard to make out from the music. Also, I am obviously not experienced in the German accent, but I am not sure if you were going for that. Other than that I don't really see a problem. It's a good thing you don't have one of those scratchy or squeaky vocies we get in some english dubs. (Ahh, my luckystar!)
Out of the prosecuters in PW, Franziska is probably my second favorite. First being the badass that is Godot.

A lot of people, if you do attempt a German Accent, mix it up with French. They add a lot of 'zed's and a lot of high pitched 'e's. All of which is actually quite silent or dimished in the German language. Also, people find the language 'angry' or 'uninviting'. I suggest listening to a few minutes of 'Run Lola, Run!' to get the accent down pat.

Alrighty, here's the Franziska reel without the extra cream. At the time, I was going for the somewhat American-ish speech she'd probably have (since in the Japanese version, she came from the US instead of Germany), but I'll be checking out some German accents and will do a re-recording when I get time. ('Cause really, I overlooked the German thing until I posted the first reel... And it shows) Franz Demo 02 (No Effects)My voice is naturally low for someone my age (and stature)... Every mic in the house, laptop or not, tends to record me sounding older (7 years) or younger (5+ years) than I really do IRL. I'm currently recording with my camera then converting them into sound files, which isn't exactly a good thing in terms of quality until I get my hands on some proper recording equipment. As for high voices... I can reach some of them, but I have limits. Midna Sample 01Midna is a cute little evil-ish imp from Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. To say more beyond her assisting Link would be a bunch of spoilers. It isn't as adorable as the real thing, but of course, I'm not doing impressions. I'm testing my range. Senior Project Quick DemoMy Senior Project Exhibition was a SUCCESS~! However, what really made it a success was more so my literally last-minute demo consisting of my audition lines. Hopefully, I used the Nyquist Prompt properly to make the voices louder than the music. The slight gaps in some parts of the clip were intentional. Lots and LOTS of times, people exclaimed if I truly did do all the voices while the demo was playing, so I guess I made the right choice to prevent interruptions. Let me know what you think! My happi display board of crack-induced madness joy! It's too cool and spastic to display for only one day.

Lol, I like it. With the voice clip I like the voice at the end (the leader I guess), it sounds much more natural.
What was this project for? I'm assuming it's supposed to show any ideas you have for the future?

I'm assuming it's supposed to show any ideas you have for the future? ~Manuel My senior project has a lot to it and in a sense, it is basically that. However, my instructors prefer to call it "potential career exploration". There have been times where my classmates chose a job they thought would be their dream job, but later come back disappointed and the only real way to finish the project is to follow it through and present findings instead of starting over from scratch. As described in the OOC, I'm one of the lucky ones who got a lot out of the project. For a long time now, I've always wanted to be a starship captain or someone who gives commands over the radio to pilots 'cause it just comes so easily to me. It is mostly close to my "natural" voice and I'm still waiting to see if I got the part yet. why do I have the sudden urge to make a posterboard... =D It's very relaxing. Sometimes, I think I spend too much time in the scrapbook section (and the arts and crafts sections in general) at Michaels... And the pages are ubar cheap too. I think most of them are $0.33, $0.50, or $1-ish and get even cheaper during sales. @@; So many pretty colors to cut up and tape onto something... I want to go on another spastic scrapbook paper shopping spree... Snake! Make love to me snake! I want you- FOREVER! You're SUPPOSED TO HIT HER! Damn right i'm gonna hit that!XD No matter how many times I hear that quote from Metal Gear Awesome 2, I just crack up on the spot.

I recently became a General Grievous fangirl. Unfortunately, as much as I enjoy trying to imitate his speech, I'm vocally limited as a female, my equipment ain't top notch, and my techno-savvy is limited... But thanks to my sound-majick-sensei P3RFECT, I was able to pull off something alright! Behold, my current progress as a sound engineer (sorta) apprentice! Lemme know what you think! Reference <--- GG is the badass cyborg (who's nuked in the movie) General Grievous Attempt (My Version / Minimal Edits)General Grievous Attempt (With P3RFECT's Help / Final)@@; In all honesty, GG is tough on my chords... He ruined my audition recording plans for the night! I love screaming, but frankly, because I was raised to have an incredibly conservative nature, I don't really have those "vocal chord calluses". -_-+ I totally still want to record more lines though... Just to... Mess around. Especially with the Star Wars fans on this board...

He lost to Obi-Wan. He is no badass.
However. The only badass I saw in that clip was that monster-pet thing that JUMPED DOWN AN ENORMOUS STRUCTURE AND CAUGHT UP TO GRIEVOUS. Grievous seemed more badass in the cartoons, he was like rigged, everyone was afraid of his god-like riggedness. Its a disappointment, and I'm almost glad to have slept through that half of the movie when it first came out in theatres... >_> (what? I was young... and... tired xD)
ANYWAYS. I really liked your clips, and I wasn't expecting those results at all. I compared it with your senior project just to check up on the vast difference. You have a potentially wide range of manipulation. Keep working at it.

In the words of VG Cats.
"Don't worry, Jedi. *cough*I'm actually a total Wuss. Now if this were the Clone Wars cartoon you'd be proper Fucked. *cough* *hack*"
Grievous is awesome. In Clone Wars.
This is from probably the most OCD Star Wars fan on the board...

;_; I always lurved teh ebil! I blame Mace Windu for force crushing GG's chest! ::huggles GG plushy:: (Admittedly, that monster-pet thing is pretty awesome too...) An' thankoo~ I think next time, I'll try the Clone Wars voice (4:10-4:20) for GG to see if it's possible. The pitch isn't as deep and might be less taxing on the chords, as much as I want to try the asthmatic cough. I'm still trying to figure out my range though. A few days ago, I was bored on Wikipedia and found pangrams, which are words with every letter in the alphabet in it. I tried to say a bunch of things in as many accents and voices I could come up with on the fly to test my range, but of course, I have a ways to go. Pangrams in Different Voices and Accents 1Pangrams in Different Voices and Accents 2I totally want to do THIS Finnish one: Törkylempijä vongahdus ---> Muckysnogger booty-call.

Resident Evil S.A.R.S. P2I'm Rebecca Chambers, AKA the happy brunette that gets her head blown off. This was the first thing I've ever been cast for so the sound is definitely pre-better microphone (several months ago). Meanwhile, Bang Zoom recently called me in to do a walla recording session this Friday for some more Tweeny Witches-ness~ I bought the first volume and haven't watched it yet, but if I guess correctly from what I've seen on YouTube, I'm in a bunch of scenes in episodes 17-25-ish (which ought to be on the next DVD scheduled for May 6th). Overall, I guess I'm doing some things right and in other cases, I definitely would love more criticism... xx; (I hope I'm not one of those "bad VA's" mentioned in the reviews...)

To make things short, I got a new mic some time last week and I've been meaning to make a better demo to show on Tuesday for my Senior Project Panel Presentation. I'm still new to mixing and making demos in general, so I'd appreciate some critiques. I believe the VAing itself could take some advice too, since I'm all for improving. New Mic DemoTracks: Okami - "Confronting Ushiwaka" Skies of Arcadia - "Fina's Theme" Pirates of the Caribbean 3 - "Up Is Down" Haunting Ground - "Something Lacking (long)" Disgaea - "The Great Wild" @@; Practice makes perfect.

XD Sure, I only have one line [00:34:00-00:34:16] as the Secretary in Twin Stars Book One, Episode Two- War Crimes, but the mixing and management is pretty professional and this dude already cast me in Episode Four... Which I THINK will be out in July. There's a good chance that I will be in future episodes as well. This regular podcasting-ness will probably replace the empty void in my life where "Avatar" and "Pushing Daisies" ought to be. ; ...Especially since the first episode is made of awesome. If there's anyone out there who specializes in making websites, it'd be neat if said person teaches me how to make one so I can make a proper resume there.

Although I managed to complete the artwork for several stages, I was unable to complete them in time to make the visual end as I planned... Hopefully though, I'll get those finished someday and perhaps find a flash animator who's willing to work on this. There was so much I wanted to put into this that is beyond my capabilities, especially during the long lapses of music where visuals should've taken over. (My 7-8 page essay on this project is proof of this.) Thankful mentions go to the VA's who still made time to keep in touch with me or record, even though they were unable to make it into the final cut. There's a good chance that I'll make an extra reel of some kind since a lot of the improv lines, nifty takes, and outtakes still entertained me as I fought the crunch. My mixing definitely needs work, but hopefully it showed signs of improvement. I'd appreciate any constructive criticism in regards to my skills and VAing. XD Phillip as the Fox totally stole the show. Everyone in my class kept asking about him. Everyone was also entertained by Shockdingo's performance as the Peacock and the Tiger. It was great working with everyone despite finals season and national holidays popping up. I'd like to work with these folks in future productions~

Kirby Shorts Waddle DeeYou can't even hear the two voices that're mine because of the crowd effect, but I'm in there somewhere! Really short, especially since this is the dude's first flash he ever made. Base 17: Episode 3I'm Audrey, the brunette that has a strange resemblance to Ceer personality-wise if you try really hard to compare this to the XIN series... I mean, Rina-chan (Silvia) is Cybil for cryin' out loud. It was tough VAing for such a quiet and emotionless character, but I have a feeling that I'll be improving the more I do this. As for the professional end, I'm in volumes 2 (which is out) and 3 (which should be out later this summer) of an anime called "Tweeny Witches" as extra voices. I'm not in the credits, but hey--I'm officially in an anime! And on file, so they may be calling me in for more things later. Watch out world, I'm gonna go places in no time. I'm going to take a VAing class this summer and if I'm lucky, I may show up at Anime Expo 2008's AX Idol to compete in the voice acting competition... Providing that I don't get cut off the list, as there're gonna be lots of late comers. More to Life Than Killing People
