Always try and use one LICD quote per day. Couldn't have put it any better than it was written there, so blah.

Does anyone else find it ironic that the thread entitled "Quick Question" is about the longest OOC we've had about nothing in a long time?

I find that odd....also, I think i need to say this.
Does anyone find it humerous that the people who questioned Tiaos masculinity are the ones making Boston Legal referrences? They are showing they keep track of a drama show....in Boston, the single gayest place in America (this was gained on the adoption of gay marriage, before then in belonged to San Fransico, which recieved it for it's great shoe shopping after the entire state of Vermont changed it's slogan from "Vermont, the state that makes new hampshire nervous")
Also, babe is perfectly acceptable to call a man. It means attractive, and us pretty people can't help that.
To clerify though, you cannot call a guy a "bra" either, just because you know that just leaves the reply of "I wish" as required.
Now, please continue with the real masculine referrences, like the LICD people. It's not that hard to get back into the habit of doing, it's just like.....well, the LICD people know what I want to say here.

Why do I have the sneaking suspicion this will soon become one big rabble of netcomic quotes....?
Also, since I never stuck an opinion in before, I believe that yes, it's perfectly acceptable to call a man 'babe'. In the UK it's quite common, actually. (well, among those of us with what is commonly referred to here as 'the awesome', anyway).
-slinks off to surreptuously gather LICD references for later-

Next time you want to talk about Boston, Conan O'Brien and I will be 'all up in your grill' as they say.
Secondly, there's nothing inherently un-manly about being gay. Case in point: Alexander the Great. Last time I checked, conquering the known world was pretty damn studdly.

Not one remark was made regarding being gay also, concurrently, being unmanly. Please, take down the pictures of Mr. Hasslehoff from his Baywatch days and stop defending yourself so vehemently.... Moving on, Alexander the Great...Big Gay Al, am I the only one seeing a connection there....? -ponders quietly-

I was actually making a joke, hence terms like "all up in your grill", and "pretty damn studdly". But, the point to which I was referring was that it is 'humurous' (see 'Ironic') to make comments about masculinity while simultaneously watching a show set in a 'gay' city. I'm sorry for being so prickly, but it's a sensitive issue, one where a lot of comments can be offensive without meaning to be. On a lighter note, I read recently, that the aforementioned Mr. Hasslehoff was thrown out of a sporting event for 'drunk and disorderly behavior', and while being removed, was quoted as shouting "You can't do this to me! I'm the HOFF" Pretty much awesome. (Streamlined)

But Liam, isn't it practically possible to call someone anything you like in the UK and still be able to see it as a compliment?

Indeed it is, babe. I don't see anything wrong with calling guys babe, babe. You are right, babe.
Or is it only when girls call guys it... babe?

One, the references to Boston Legal were, for one, started by referring to Alan Shore, a lawyer, therefore it continued with Alex commenting that I deserve points for the reference to one of the wittiest shows on television - and the only show I think is worth watching.
I agree with Rowan here; Kurtz's reference made it seem as if referring to Boston was stating a hypocrisy of our joking manner to Tiao. He "lost" his masculinity because he took the babe comment to a point that opened him to sarcastic jokes. We refer to Boston Legal because it's just awesome. It's not contrasting because Boston itself is gay - and the Denny-Alan friendship is constantly joked as a "near-gay" relationship - so therefore Alex and I are still in the clear here.
Gay guys are very masculine - it's just that they're more in touch with their feminine side too.
And let's start with why we joked with Tiao about babe being "unmasculine" to be referenced to. Like others said, it's okay to nod and say "Thanks" to any girl that calls you a "babe," but I find it odd for us to openly call ourselves "babes" when we're supposed to call girls "babes."
Either way, I think I better stop myself before I kill the sarcastic love of this sausagefest - considering I see no girls joining in on the fun any time soon.
So I think we should go on with a quote of "The Tao of Rayne."
"Disappointment is... becoming conscious of the fact that there's no sex in your immediate future."
"Elation is... realizing 3 hours of head could still be a very real possibility."

Just to be clear, I in no way think that being gay is not being manly....I was making a joke.
Anyway, I don't being gay is necesserily feminine either...there are many seriously butch guys out thier who are gay, and they can certainly kick ass, among other things.
I honestly think that it is no real factor is sexuality....
Afterall, Rayne himslf cired listnening to boy bands

I tottally understand, I wasn't really trying to accuse you of doing so. I just think it's an issue that shouldn't be taken lightly. This is all becoming far too serious, however. What would Shatner think if he saw Boston Legal causing such a row.
