When are we planning to resume this tradition? I think Jellar wants in on his second one.

New city, new traditions. This is a more realistic school, and because the corporal punishment system has worked so well, it's now needless to say that students would rather not fight.
With that said, they don't hold tournaments. So, not for awhile is my assumption, but if our admin, or our Admin-lites/moderators, have any other idea's, they'll let you know.

I believe its up to Kurtz, as I think he's holding them now.

Odin, that doesn't go to all students. In any case, Varronites could probably hold tournaments as they would like to uphold their previous traditions and maybe curious Hircinians would pop in. I'd rather not pursue the topic any further, but whatever.

As of right now, having tournaments with just Varronites would set back the whole "Trying to fit in" thing.

Also, don't you think out of school violence would be a great way to "thin the crowd"....don't think there wouldn't be much to gain by that.
Anyway, there are underground tournaments at Hircine....I saw this issue in advance and put background into my bio accordingly....it's how Kurtz made a big enough impression to become a Pillar without Darren picking him for loyalty.
I have actually discussed this with Taiku a while back, and he asked me to make a tournament thread in the OOC to "see who's interested" if you will. I put it off, because at the time my main reason were storyline with Odin and I thought we could use a bit more Hircine members before things advanced that far.
However, curiosity has started itself up, and depending on how much activity the thread gets (as in posts, not how many people view it....if you want a tourney speak up), I'll consider talking about it as a serious event with Taiku.
The tournament here would be very different than Varron tournament though....as Kurtz has a reason for the risks. They would be more brutal, more tiring, with a large audience, and other characters would have a reason to watch besides curiosity due to gambling....and I wouldn't limit their influence to their eyes...outside the ring things could happen too.
In general, you'd be looking at tougher competition on average, far more storyline involvement .There would be no lotteries, no first come first serve, and no picking who hasn't been in recently....people would be chosen on how important a tourney would be to them by storyline, as it would actually not just make it seem completely separate from the rest of the board like it used to be.
So if you want tourneys back, I need to hear some interest beyond three people.

Two Things to Say:
1) Point taken, Kurtz.
2) To the suggestion section... maybe? (if you see it fit)

Tourney's are about the only way I get to have fights anymore, so I'm all for em. I like that you wanna make them more story involved because I always tried to have an IC reason for entering. For ages it was because Maverik needed to win to draw out his brother.
I say go for it.

I'm all for tournaments. Ein is going to need the extra outlet now for sure unless the Varronites decide to get rowdy.

Last time someone said something along the lines of that... Leon got swamped with 20+ pms from 20+ different people. That was a good prank Oh, and I am all up for the tournaments...

I think I might actually sit this one out, for once. Shocking, I know, but storyline-wise, there's no reason for Pain Killer to do it, since he's getting the recognition he wants by fighting the School Captain. Now... if only that thread would end...

I said I would try to get permission for a tournament...it isn't anywhere near certain yet, so this isn't a sign up list.
