There is too many good animes to ever possibly have a favorite for more than half a week. And, yes, Hajime no Ippo is good. However, fairly old.

Both are bad.
My favorite anime is Bleach or Naruto however, probably Bleach since it's a bit mroe adult and has a much more kickass plot (less filler to).

The Canadian Version of Bleach has good dubbing, and by that I mean the stuff they do in Vancouver. For some reason though I think the voices for Naruto for you guys is different from mine, because once again it's done in Vancouver, thus is pretty good.

MIDORI! Funny ass anime. For those who don't know, it's about a guy who's right hand becomes a girl, let the perverted jokes fly.

Princess Princess Midori no Hibi He is My Master FLCL Onegai Teacher Cowboy Bebop I agree with two on your list that are very good. He is My Master- Brilliant, hilarious. FLCL- Insanity has never been so entertaining.

Personally, I can't stand most anime. It's either just too much, or just not enough, in many different areas. Those that stand above the grain, those I love, however, are:
Cowboy Bebop Trigun Gungrave (to a slightly lesser extent)Bleach Full Metal Alchemist
And that's honestly about it. I've enjoyed a few others here and there over the past, and I find Excel Saga and Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi funnier than should be allowed to exist, most other anime, as a whole, just leave a lot to be desired from me.
I think most of 'em try too hard.

Seconded. Why? Because badasses like good English dubs. ^^ By no means do I consider myself "badass", but I'm gonna agree with that one. Probably after that, I like Neon Genesis Evangelion, or (gasp!) Dragon Ball Z.

I've been known for my rather....avant garde taste in anime.
Me, I just think I have good taste.
Cowboy Bebop Fullmetal Alchemist Evangelion Raxephon Ghost in the Shell (all of it, and furthermore the tachikoma had much better roles in the laughing man season, and I can't wait for the new movie) Love Hina (my guilty pleasure)
The thing about animes like Bleach, Hellsing and Naruto that get to me is the way they are written....they have great character designs, but their plots eventually become so shallow it seems like a waste. These good character get fans, which means great animation budgets...which could go to better anime.
.hack.....I say put the poor thing out of it's misery....a series should only be dragged on for so long.
Odin, everything voiced over in Vancouver is good....you know that.
Anyway, my second favorite has to be Fullmetal Alchemist. The character design, a plot that is subtle enough that you are surprised but not so much depth that I could write a term paper on it (I have written term papers referencing some of the earlier mention anime), great animation, it has it all. Amazingly enough, this one actually sounds BETTER in english. It's hard to argue against it being easy when the most important supporting character doesn't even have his mouth move. What sets this anime above the rest (some animes can match the rest of them) and one I don't think any other can really compare to is it's sense of drama. When a character dies, you feel it, which is something hard to do in any form of entertainment, let alone anime.
Cowboy Bebop is the best because it can compete with Full Metal on every level AND has style. Style and substance, Bebop has both.
