It was Saturday morning, there was no school and it was Jins day off from helping in his parents dojo.
Jin decided to get away from the city for a day and go to the forest.
He took the bus there. It was a nice day and Jin walked around for about half an hour until he found a nice spot to train for a while.
The place was beautiful, it was beside a stream that went to the bottom of the forest the water was Crystal clear, Jin hadn't been to such a place since his parents took him to Kyoto as a small boy living in Japan.
Jin threw his sports bag down near a rock and got into a left karate stance.
His left foot was in front pointing straight with the knee bent, his right leg was a shoulder width apart at the back with the knee slightly less bent and the foot pointing at a forty degree angle. Jins left arm was out in front bent half way in line with his chin and right arm at his waist in a clenched fist.
Jin started throwing multiple flurries of punches and kicks with speed and precision sometimes with kiais(shouts) during moves to increase the power of the attack.

His shirt covered in sweat and his sweatshirt tied around his waist, Cale Rosiér rode his rusted red bicycle through the woods to try to find the road back home again. He had really exerted himself and was finding it hard to even pedel his bike through the sticks and rocks of the vague dirt path he was following. As he was enjoying the cool breeze of the mid-day air and the shade from these secluded woods, he could fainly hear sharp and consistant shouts from the direction he came from. Slowing down, he looked towards his destination and looked backwards towards where he had already been. Being honest with himself for a moment, he admitted that he wasn't sure where he was and had just as good of a chance finding the road by going back the way he came.
He found the origin of the shouts, and the rustling of his bike through the leaves had alerted the boy long before he had arrived.
"Hey there." said Cale, carefully. "I heard you training over here. I'm a wrestler over at Hircine High, so I was out here getting a little exercise. Mind if I join you? I'm Cale."

Jin was in the middle of a combination when heard the rustling of leaves. He turned round and seen a boy and a red bike. The boy started walking to wards Jin and introduced him self and stated that he was a wrestler at Hircine.
Jin said: "My name's Jin Takanawa, I'm at Hircine too. I practice my families style of karate, a mix of various types of karate and ju-jutsu. I would be good if you were to join me"

"Well fantastic, man. I mean, sorry you're at craphole Hircine, but it's never boring if nothing else. Man, ju-jitsu, huh? I've heard nothing but awesome shit about it. I'm just a wrestler myself, but it's a highly underrated martial art. I bet we have a lot to teach each other."
Cale donned a staggered stance, purposefully appearing awkward. He then slowly approached Jin to show that he was just going to go through a motion.
"See, I'm leading with my left foot and drawing the eye to the left here...here..."
He was bring his left hand up over and over and shifting to the left. But then, with a starting but controlled and nonthreatening burst of speed, he gently strafed to the other side and picked up Jin's left leg.
"See and from here, I can pick it up really high and "tree top" you, I can pull you inside, or I can just start advancing to your body and tackle or get behind and suplex. It opens up so many moves just to know how to move fast and efficiently. It's the potential to end the fight in one move! I still have a lot to learn about hand-to-hand fighting though. My striking is good, but pretty rusty. What kind of stuff can you tell me?"

Jin was interested with the boys technique and replied:
"Well ju-jitsu can be like wrestling in the way that when your in a certain position the possibilities are amazing. I've studied my families martial art since i was a small boy its primarily based on getting your opponent down quickly and efficiently. But the two main things are speed and accurate striking to vital areas of the opponents body."
"You find that people may make fun of what they call the karate chop."
Jin straightened his left hand all his fingers together like the so called "karate chop".
"There actually called knife hand strikes and where you want to attack with them is the neck or the throat, however if hit them hard enough in one of the jugular arteries or the adams apple you could kill someone. But hit someone in those areas at a good strength you could knock them out or give them a good enough shock to grab them and bring them down".
Jin poked at a 45 degrees angle upward with the knife hand towards Cale's throat in a controlled manner.
"Use the tips of your fingers to strike someones throat and the side of your hand when attacking the sides of the neck. Its a great move to know when someone has you grabbed by the collar or the neck especially when followed by a knee to the gut. I think it should especially valuable to a wrestler such as yourself who may grab & throw allot.

Cale began to prod his own throat with his fingers the way that Jin was showing him to hit, thinking to himself that it probably could be really useful. He studied the combo that Jin would do to lead into it and started doing them full speed to the air just to practice it, letting air come sharply out of his lungs with every strike. He started to work it into his other combos, and even did a shadow takedown that led into a strong knife hand.
"That's really cool. I really like that..." he said. "I am definately going to practice that."
In silence, Cale began to work on it, and whenever he would look over his shoulder and see Jin working on something new, he'd try to mirror it as best he could before integrating it into his move list. He was open to criticism and suggestion at all times.
"This is a good idea."

Jin seen Cale integrating what he'd just taught him into his moves.
"You learn pretty quick, but I never thought I would see a wrestler with your speed".
"Here's a bit of advice, if your ever kicking you should twist your front foots heel to enable more push, balance and twist to your kicks".
Jin showed Cale what he meant by doing a back leg front kick twisting his heel then kicking. He then did them both at full speed in one movement.
"It took me a while to get when I first learned it but I'm sure you'll be alright".
"I would advise you learning another martial art to go along with your wrestling, perhaps my families style would be suited for you. I think you'd handle it quite well".

"I've taken little bits of judo and karate, but I just haven't gotten around to using them much. I've spent so much time on wrestling that it's hard to change, but I know that I can't really kick anyone around until I become a much better boxer and martial artist in general."
Cale focused himself into a stance and threw up a roundhouse kick nice and slow.
"See, I just don't have the power and flexibility that I need. Feel free to teach me anything you think would help me. I have another hour or so before I should start heading on back to school."
With that, he started working in his 7-hit combo he had known and neglected to practice for a long time.
*back-hand, hammerfist, punch, elbow, knife-hand, palm heel, ridge hand*
Then, he would begin to do some of the variations on kicking that he had experimented with back when he was approaching black-belt status in an attempt to wake up the side of his brain that remembered how to really fight.
"Seriously, anything you can think of, let me know. And if you'd feel comfortable sparring, I wouldn't mind one bit. Don't go easy though. I'm hiding more tricks than you're aware of." he grinned.

"Sparring? Its been a while since I've sparred but sure if it helps".
Jin shook him self out a bit and got into his left fighting stance he was in before Cale arrived.
"Ready when you are".

Cale smiled.
"Fantastic. I've been beaten up pretty bad the last couple times, but I've got a lot more practice, a lot more confidence, and a lot mroe focus. No hard feelings either way and no rules, though you seem like a nice guy and I'm sure we'll both fight with relative honor."
Untying his sweatshirt and removing it along with his hat, the marks on his face became apparent once he faced Jin squarely and looked him in the eyes. His right eyebrow had been badly bruised, the bump almost closed his eyes, and his bottom lip had been split twice. He fit the part of a typical wrestler, but he rarely sustained injury on the mat. These had come from old-fashioned street fights.
He stood in his stance that he used to call his "bull" stance, where he was staggered just a little to his right side and stalked foward, disobeying any wrestling or karate logic by crossing his feet ever-so-slightly as he cautiously approached his opponent. When they were very nearly at striking range, he faced him straight-on and began boxing, throwing a left and a right to the face before launching a right front snap kick to the head. He never left the ground for kicks anymore, so he quickly transitioned into a deft clockwise spin towards Jin, attempting to connect with the back of his right fist.

Jin blocked the two first punches Cale had thrown at him with solid guard by keeping his elbows in letting his arms take the blows, his arms had been conditioned over the years to take far worse.
Threw the small gap in the guard Jin seen the snap kick coming at him, he slid back just avoiding the kick but in an instant Cale spun round and hit him with a back fist catching Jin by surprise.
The back fist hit him in the right cheek he was lucky it didn't hit his nose and break it.
Using the small amount of momentum he gained from the back fist Jin spun anti clockwise almost ducking to avoid any other attacks and did his own spinning back fist to the face it was almost always the way he ended street fights.
He followed up with right hook to the face. After the hook his right side was facing Cale so he attacked with a right elbow attacking with the point of his elbow to Cale's head. Jin was wearing his elbow pads that he woar to sparring competitions so their was less chance of brain damage or any other major injuries if it were to connect but it would probably leave a mark.
All attacks were done with speed and precision earned by years of training.

"Huaagh!"
The backfist and the punch slammed the sides Cale's head as he bobbed and weaved in a classic boxer style used to defray the impact of punches. (Not to say they didn't jar his brain something fierce) As the standard punch to an elbow finish jerked at his face, he swayed down and to the right before he swept up his opponent's right leg in one frighteningly quick motion and raised it up high, chasing forward to send Jin stumbling backwards. His recovery was so quick, however, that it had appeared not to have daunted him in the least. Like a spring, Jin was back on his feet, and Cale decided to set his stance to the left side before attacking again.
"I told you I'm full of tricks." he laughed, maintaining his focus and respecting his target's obvious skill and surprisingly fluid command of the martial arts.
Cale's approach was faster and more aggressive this time, starting with a right side thrust kick. He then hurried after his attack to work in a one-two punch, his right fist with the jab and his left coming in strong with the force of his body turning with the punch towards Jin's chest. He wanted to make this one count.

Jin swayed back just out of the range of the side thrust kick.
"Too slow". Jin thought.
Cale then threw two punches, Jin brought his standard guard that he blocked the first to with.
The first punch bounced of the guard like nothing, but the second left hand punch hit with furious force coming towards his solar plexus.
Although it hit his guard Jin staggered back.
He thought to himself, "Though what he loses in the speed he gains in sheer force".
Jin went into his left fighting stance again.
This time he came at Cale with a spinning right heel kick, followed by a sneaky left uppercut to Cale's stomach then a fast yet moderately strong right straight to his face.

Cale, once again, contradicting the advice of any good martial artist, absorbed the heel to his stomach and crumpled his body around it to begin to use it for a takedown. The uppercut to the stomach intensified the damage of the kick and the punch would rattle the top of his head after he had wrapped up Jin's leg for good.
"Jeezus...this is getting pretty raw." thought Cale. "No getting mad, just keep fighting hard and let the chips fall where they may."
After the pain had been delivered and Jin was gathering his balance on his left leg for a second, Rosiér stood on the inside of his leg and put his shoulder right where his leg connects to his hip, sticking his face tight to his side to avoid any attacks meant to stop what Cale was putting into motion. He then picked up on the boy's knee and put all his weight onto his shoulder, forcing Jin to the ground. Following him all the way this time, he quickly assumed a chest-to-chest position to keep him from getting up and once again buried his face in a safe place, right next ot Jin's head where he couldn't get it. All the tactics of the typical wrestler were coming in handy, saving Cale from injury left and right. From here, he wrapped his arms around Jin's neck and right arm to keep him from hitting him and began scooting his own knees under him so he could begin disabling all of his assets and deliver a finishing attack if need be.

Cale made Jin hit the ground hard and wrapped his arms around Jins neck and right arm.
His left arm and legs where still free, though it was hard to move his legs so that left only one thing his left arm.
Jin mustered all the strength he could and punched Cale in the ribs making him ease his grip on Jin for just a second.
That was his only chance Jin slipped his arm out of Cale's grip and threw all his weight to one side bringing himself on top of Cale.
This caught him by surprise and as soon as Jin had Cale on his back he put his knees on his arms stricked him with a pointed knife hand strike to Cale's throat making sure he didn't go hard enough to kill but this would make him choke and cough.

It was the most solid hit of the fight so far.
He took the full force of the punch in the ribs, groaning, but still using his weight to try to keep him down. Then, seeing his plan to roll him over, Cale figured out his plan of attack just in time. He allowed Jin to start the momentum, but then rolled through with more of his own, sending them tumbling and leaving Cale on top. It was yet another of the million tricks that you'd only pick up as a folkstyle wrestler.
After the hard hit to his side, Cale had crumpled a little and let go of his hold on the boy. He couldn't just pin this kid, he had to end the fight. Still in great pain, he grabbed both of Jin's wrists before they began rolling. Then when he was on top again, he swung his head down at the opponent's face, looking to score a hit to the nose.

Jin's attempt to get Cale off him failed, however the punch did weaken Cale.
Cale went to head butt Jin in the nose but thanks to the punch in the ribs he gave Cale weakening him Jin was able to just about move his arms to block the headbutt and pull Cale's head into his shoulder.
"Care to call it a tie or do you wish to keep going". Jin said not meaning to offend Cale or his skills as they both in the same position.

Feeling weak, he laughed heartily.
"I'd love to, honestly. You're a good man."
After he righted himself and got his balance, he reached his hand down and helped Jin onto his feet. It had been an excellent spar, and much ground had been gained, as they had been learning from each other all the way.
"Did not see a lot of that coming, my friend." laughed Cale as he rubbed his side. "Most people can't muster up that strong of a hit from close quarters. I'm really impressed. Are you going to stick here and train, or were you gonna head back now?"

"Its my day off so I've got all day so wherever you want to go I can come along if you wish".
Jin hadn't sparred like that in a while perhaps they could learn more from each other.

"I could stand to do a lot more conditioning, but then I'm probably going to just head on back. You want to come with? I'll be taking a long run and doing little bits of training along the way, shadow boxing and working on quickness. That'd be sweet if you wanted to come on with. It gets boring there."
Cale had started to stretch, and did a quick handstand to stretch out his midsection.
"It looks weird, but it really helps. Sometimes I even do them to condition. Serious times."
After he'd done a few push-ups and sit-ups, he signaled to Jin to begin their run.
"We should probably make it kind of quick though. I have a report I should start. Let's get a good sweat going and call it quits."
