It was about two months ago when Raven thought up the idea of them both going on a trip. A monthy of discussion, and they had a full plan, a lodge, decent weather conditions, the works. Sedrix at first thought it was just a idealism, a daydream. He could hardly believe it had come true. They rented a car and drove out to canada, during a short break in the semester, they arrived yesterday, at a lodge, planted at the bottom of a very good quality rookie slope. Sedrix was delighted.
It seemed like such fantasy, such best-case-scenario, but it was happening! He was overjoyed, the trip over in the car was hardly arduous either. They listened to music, sang along with a few tracks, laughed about the fact you could barely see out the back window, the boot was so stuffed with luggage. It was a long journey though, and Sedrix was determined to knock it all out in one night. It seemed to be male nature, to get everything done as quickly as possible. But then again, he would prefer an extra day on the slopes.
He had hardly been happier, or more pleasantly surprised than he was when he swung open the door of their lodge, to see a raging fire, a 'log cabin' effect on the walls, a huge polar bear skin floor, with an amazingly comfortable white sofa behind it. It was a really nice place to stay, with the style of an old log cabin, but with all the modern accessories like a widescreen TV, central heating, and a kitchen with, what must have been, every appliance known to man... The bed was huge and welcoming, jsut what he needed after the journey here.
They dumped their bags, Sedrix's board, and Ravens rented board, and spent the night in, with a wonderful, romantic meal.
Today, Sedrix took Raven out on the slopes. Sedrix's mostly black winter clothes made him look like a huge black bear, if it wasn't for the head of blonde hair stuck out the top, and the red-lensed goggles. Sedrix actually had two snowboards. A standered, rounded board, which was the first he bought. Great for control, and a few tricks. His other, preffered board is an alpine board, which is longer, heavier, with one flattened side, for greater speed. He brought along his standard board today, as it would be best to teach Raven on.
Before they headed up a lift, Sedrix just taught her how to clip on her board, stand up properly, get up after a fall, and other non-mobile, but nessesary techniques that she needed. He thought he would appear to be a dull, stuffy teacher, but they stumbled over, and laughed themselves silly a few times. Sedrix looked up the mountain, it was pretty clear, and the weather was perfect, even so, it looked quite steep. It was not steep enough for their to be injury or anything, but maybe it would be better to walk up a little, and board down from their, to make it a little easier for Raven.
"What do you think Raven, want to head up the lift, or walk up a little?" He asked.

The car ride she had thought would have been agony. so many hours, in the car and Sedrix had wanted to drive alll the way through with no stops. Though they had to from time to time to use the bathroom, get something to eat, and fill up with the ever increasing price of gas. But it was still fun. They had both brought music and had sung along with the songs in the car, and laughed at each other when they skipped a line or made up a line for one they didn't know. They had a blast. The car was filled with fast food wrappers and soda cups that no longer had ice in them. They had crumbs everywhere because they had for the most part eaten in the car. But that was part of the trip and they even took turns driving. Everything was perfect, the dogs were at home and in kennel that would care for them while they were gone, Raven's cat had the run of the place and was probably all too happy about it.
Raven had just gotten settled in Sedrix's place. She loved living there, and he had even made sure to make room for some of the things she had while others they sold and took the money to help pay for their trip. Now that the two of them lived in the same apartment they had a lot more money to spend because they hd once afforded the bills on their own, but with both of them in one apartment things were a lot easier. So they had been able to afford one of the best cabins on the ramp they wanted, and they had been able to afford this whole trip and wouldn't have to worry about money when they got home. As they crested the hill right before the lodge started it was beautiful. Crisp white slopes gently carressed the mountains as they fell towards the lodge. It was beautiful. The small cabin where they stayed was maginificent.
Opening the door to the log cabin there was already a raging fire in the fire place keeping the area within the walls warm. There was a small kitchenette where they could cook if they wanted and a couch in front of the fire place where above hung the flat screen television with satellite. The bed was in a small nook and was gorgeous. Carved out of dark wood it was a four poster canopy with heavy curtains if you wanted to stay asleep through part of the day. They had put their things down and spent the night completely exhausted still wearing their clothes they passed out on the large bed curtains drawn and under ample covers as they slept in each other's arms.
Morning dawned and she could almost feel the excitment emmanatng from Sedrix. As he woke, the light in his eyes was almost catching. She knew how much he loved to share his passions with her, and this was definatly one of them. He was up and dressed in minutes, usually Raven was the morning person and he was dragging his feet, but this time it was the other way around. She yawned and rubbed her eyes stumbling from the bed sleepily as she got to her bag and pulled out the sky blue winter outfit they had gotten her. She went into the bathroom and changed, coming out pulling the over coat on over her white sweater. She wasn't as bulky as Sedrix who looked much like a bear and she told him so. He ended up tackling her and growling on the bed where they shared the forgotten good morning kiss.
"Lets go before you burst." she teased. Hand in hand, the other hands holding their boards they stepped out into the cold artic air. The breeze played havoc with her hair, and she put the little cap on over her head blue with white snowflakes knitted into it, she probably looked cute, but she really couldn't say. They headed out to the ramp and beneath it they sat in the snow while Sedrix began to tell her how everything worked. How the buckles kept her feet in the clasps, and how to stand, how to fall, how to move, how to do everything technical. And it wasn't until he felt she had a firm grasp that he took her hand again and asked her if she was ready for the full thing or if she just wanted to try a little first. She looked over at him.
"Lets just do the walk first. I want to get the feel of moving on this thing before I take the whole slope and die while carreening out of control." she teased. And so they began their walk.

"Raven you looks so adorable!" Sedrix said, looking at Raven, both of them sat, strapped into their boards, and with all their gear on. Raven was wearing a light blue outfit, with a small white and blue knitted cap. After a few lessons, and a whole lota falling over, Sedrix suggested walking up the hill a little to get started, which Raven was inclined to do, more so than heading up the lift, which would have been a little much for a first timer.
Sedrix slapped off the straps of his boardi n one smooth motion, having done it so many times, got to his feet, and help his board under his arm. Raven came to her feet too. Sedrix wrapped his arm around her as they walked up the hill a little. They must have gone, maybe two hundred meters. Not a lot at all, but it was very gentle slope. He re-did the straps on his boots, and his board, into they were locked in quite tight, but not very tight. Once he tied them too tight and his foot went numb.
He inspected Ravens boots and straps, he felt like a complete dork as he did, and blushed a rosey red, but he would hate to see Raven hurt herself. Sedrix explained a few things, demonstrating how to stand, facing up the hill rather than down. He started with a simple excersise. Board horizontal to the slope, and leaning on your toes, so the board digs into the snow and compeltely stops "Gently flatten your board, so you slide backwards a little, if you panic, just angle the board in again to stop.", and sliding down the hill.
The next was the same technique, only facing down the slope. This time you would "Lean on your heels, and gently move forward by flattening the board again." Raven was quite the incredibly quick learner. Already she had built a steady, gentle pace down the hill. Even if it is a rookie technique, it took Sedrix quite a few runs up the hill to get it right.
As they reached the bottom of the slope, Sedrix gave her a huge hug immediately, "I am well proud of you!" He said, laughing heartily. He kissed her gently.

Raven listened to everything Sedrix said. It was only their first day of the vacation they had planned and the last thing she needed was to hurt herself and ruin te rest of it. She smiled softly as he told her exactly how to control her board, and how to go one way or the other. It was great that Sedrix was here with her, she wouldn't have really trusted anyone else with teaching her. It was hard for her to trust people but Sedrix was the love that she had always wanted and had gained every ounce of her trust. She smiled as they went down the hill. Trying hard to keep her balance she really wasn't the kind of girl to panic easily unless something horrible happened, like when her Grandmother had died and things like that. When they got to the bottom of the hill he pulled her into a big hug and she laughed as he held her tightly and then gave her a nice gentle kiss. She kissed him back softly and gently their lips melding with each other as she wrapped her arms around his neck tightly.
"I love you Sedrix west." she whispered when it broke and opened her bright blue eyes and looked into his beautiful darker ones.
It was hours they spent on the slopes. She loved every minute of it, ate a lot of snow when she fell. Sedrix and she would laugh about it and get back up, she loved spending time with him and when it was almost noon she stopped him at the bottom of the slope and took his hand hugging him tightly. But in her other hand, unbeknownst to the young Sedrix, was a nice sized snow ball. And when it was time, when they were both getting lost in the hug, She smacked him right in the back of the head with the snow ball. Laughing she pulled away and ran, not far, they were going to play, it wasn't a race, but she had alread stepped out of her board and was on the run laughing waiting for him to get his revenge.

It was such an awesome day. Sedrix could not help but feel slightly homesick, as the ski/board trips were a tradition back home. But the beauty of the snow glazed trees, Ravens incredible boarding at a rookie stage, and the romantic moments they shared far more than made up for it. They kissed gently at the bottom of the slope, sharing strong emotions for eachother. Raven said it to him softly, and Sedrix smiled, returning her gesture while holding her tight, warm.
They went down the hill for the rest of the day, again, only with a few falls, each of which were laughed off. When Raven would stumble, Sedrix would either help her up simply, or purposely, playfully dive down with her. Raven was really improving though, so much she Sedrix started teaching her to turn, spin, and other such basic skills. She was going to have them all down in one day at this rate!
"Your going to learn everything in the first day at this rate!" Sedrix said smiling broadly.
Hours passed, hours and hours of riding down the slopes, which seemed more like seconds. He only noticed the time as the sun began to set. The reached the bottom of the slope, and Raven pulled him into a heart warming hug, only suddenly his head turned cold, as water ran down his back. Raven grinned a mischevous grin, and Sedrix realised that a snowball was trickling down his back. As he did, his face illuminated with the same mishvieve, and he took a handful of snow. He pushed of his snowboard, feet loose but balanced on, like a skateboard.
Sedrix threw a snowball at Raven, which hit her back and disintergrated, not a great shot. He grabbed another snowball and kept chasing her playfully.

"Ah! Sedrix!"
Raven squealed as he pegged her right in the back with a snow ball. She turned to look at him only to find him chasing her down on his snow board. "that's not fair!" she giggled.
She continued running, and it was a good thing that she ran fast and that she ran so often or else he would have run over her by now. Dodging to the side playfully she rolled into the snow and used her hands to quickly grab up some snow into a ball. She quickly tossed it pegging Sedrix right in the shoulder. She laughed softly as she got up and began running again. She laughed like she never had before. Sedrix just really brought life into her. She grabed up some snow and while she still ran she made it into a ball. Turning quickly she got a face full of snow and fell down into the snow bank below her laughing as her mittened hands brushed the snow off her face.
"I give I give!" she cried laughing as she looked around for Sedrix.

The playfully snowball barage continued, both of them laughing limitlessly, and heartily. Particularly when Sedrix got a great shot on Raven, however he could not feel the slightest rush of regret, only to be relieved byv her loving expression, and a playful give up. Sedrix smiled broadly and walked to her. He sat by her, looking up the magestic moutains and tje crystal snow laced trees, and could not help but feel a little homesick.
He put an arm around Raven, a beautiful girl, a beautiful day, what more could you ask for? "Goregeous isn't it?" He said, distracted, and ominously. He was captivated. Evn though against his wishes, they had to be off soon. It was getting a lot colder, and the gondola would be closed soon, but he gazed for another moment. "We should probably start heading down, bacl to the chalet."
"We could go for a bite on the way.." He said, thinking of ideas vaguely.

It was indeed time to go much too soon. But if they didn't get down back to the resort soon they might be up here all night, and while Sedrix was warm, she doubted he would stay so when it snowed overnight. So together the pair got up as he told her they could catch a ride down and maybe on the way back to the cabin, they could get something to eat. A soft smile crossed the Russian girl's face as she chuckled.
"Sounds good, so long as it's warm. And hopefully will come with tea." she said brightly. She knew Sedrix very well by now, and she knew that he loved his tea. But too, she had a gift for him over dinner, and she was excited to give it to him, hoping he would like it very much and wear it like he did all his other jewelry.
"Lets go." she said as she took his hand in her right, and her board in her left. Together they headed back to the gondella, that was beginning to take the last of the skiiers and snowboarders back down to the base. She was ready to be back down though, not that she hadn't had fun, but her body was beginning to ache in all kinds of new places. From falling, and from using the muscles that were used to running in a completely foreign way.
On the gondella, Raven cuddled up to Sedrix and closed her eyes. She really didn't like heights so much, it wasn't bad when you were on good hard solid ground, but when a little aluminium bucket was taking you down or even up a craggy mountain, it just.. didn't seem like such a great idea. So she closed her eyes and leaned into Sedrix feeling his arm around her, she cuddled with him on the ride down, every so often pressing her cold nose into his neck just to make him jump so they could giggle. The ride wasn't long and when they made the jump back to snow, she took his hand again.
"So where should we eat?" she asked as they headed towards the lodgings.

Raven was the most considerate person Sedrix had ever met. She always took on little things taht were important to Sedrix, or larger things, hence the reason they were in Canada snowboarding. She made a crack about the tea which Sedrix loves so much, "I hope you growing to like it too," He said smiling, "Especially Sedrix Style, A.K.A lotsa cream, lotsa sugar." He smiled.
The first started to end regretably, but he understood why. The first day Sedrix snowboarded, he could only take a few hours before his legs buckled. The motions are something you have to get used to, and master to avoid pulling and wearing muscles.
The trip down on the gondola was slow, and cold. Ski resorts always freak about about the safety of their lifts, but hey, it was just something he had to deal with, besides, being the build he is, Sedrix did not really get very cold, especially when Raven leant against him, and they held eachother. Raven felt a bit tense though. Not really surprising, a gondola is certainly not the safest place to be. A metal box, suspended over a gorge with a singular cable seems a bit of a silly idea really. Sedrix held her closer, and rested his head on hers.
They reached firm ground again, Raven stumbling a little, as the gondola never stops, you just have to jump out. Sedrix giggled a little, then took her hand. She asked where they should eat, he had absolutely no idea! He unlocked the car, and loaded up the boards, "We could just have a drive around" he said, "see what we find..." he smiled nervously. He was never the most organised.
ooc: sorry for the shit-tastic ending, i was not sure how to handle the dinner bit ;D)

They went back to the cabin to get changed. Raven wished to look less eskimo and more human than she did right now. But in the cabin her nerves began to take over. She had something to give Sedrix something she had picked out a while ago and something she wanted to give to him. A gift. Raven got dressed and fixed her hair quickly, leaving it down hanging around her shoulders, her pale skin was so bright against the dark hair that she had. She dressed herself iin a pair of jeans, and a blue sweater with a white dress shirt underneath it. It was a deep blue, that made her skin almost glow. She pulled on her white cordoroy coat and slid it over her shoulders putting the small gift box in the pocket of her coat before she slipped out of the room and looked at Sedrix.
"Hey. Ready?" she asked softly. Feeling better now in her normal clothing she took his hand as they took the car and headed out to the restaurant. It was nothing too special or even all that expensive. No, it was just a normal place, something they could be comfortable eating in. They were shown right in, the tables were wood, no table clothes, just the normal salt and pepper shakers, the normal sweetening devices on the table as they were shown to their seats. Raven sat down and slid her coat off her shoulders and onto the back of the chair.
"So what are you going to get?" she asked excitedly as she quickly looked over the menu. "I think I'm going to get this chicken platter." she said pointing it out. The waitress came by about five minutes later and they placed their orders before she looked across the table at Sedrix.
"Ummm.. Seddy?" she asked softly as she reached down and got the small box out of her coat. She fumbled with it for a moment, trying to think of the words she wanted to say. It was a small black box with a blue ribbon wrapped around it and tied in a small bow.
"I.. I got this for you.. and.. I just wanted you to know that I.. I love you Sedrix." It wasn't like she hadn't said it before, it was just that.. this was really the first gift she had ever given him. She slid the box across the table. Inside was a white gold ring, intricate celtic designs cut into the metal, and a large deep blue stone in the center.

They went back to their warm winter abode, to get changed into something more presentable. Sedrix hung everything up on radiators and next to the fire. As a frequant visitor, he knew the worst thing on a snowboard trip was wet clothing. He got changed quite quickly, he doubted they would find anywhere to fancy or high class, and if they did, without reservation, it was unlikely. He simply put on a pai of baggy jeans, and a black T shirt, and replaced all of his braclets.
Raven was ready about the same time as him, which was cool. Despite them only taking a few minutes, she still looked amazing. He smiled at her, and walked with her arm around her. They got in their car, and headed to the nearest nice lookin' resturaunt. It was a nice looking palce too. Very chalet-ish, all done in thick, hard woods, and with antiques plastered all over the walls. The atmosphere was nice, and the air was warm and thick. Sedrix rubbed his hands together, he forgot to put on a coat.
They moved to the nearest avaliable table, and placed their orders, "I big thick steak for me i think," Sedrix replied to Raven. Ravens tone changed to that of slight shyness, which was kind of cute. She was looking a bit secretive for a while now. She fumbeled in her pocket and retrieved a small black package, a gift. Sedrix was overwhelmed with emotion, of which he could not catagorise yet.
She handed it over, with those darling words of comfort. Sedrix was not sure how to feel. He wanted to be ultimately greatful, but he also wished he had got Raven something. He thought rationally. "Calm down man, your not a jerk yet, get her something tomorow." he thought to himself as he undid the ribbon neatly and carefully, as if holding a box of pure diamond. He smiled when he opened it. It suited him indeed.
He was looking down at an exquisite golden ring, with a blue gem in the centre, blue was his favorite colour. He added it to his 'right arm of jewelry' on his middle finger. Unable to think of words to say, to express his pure gratitude, he got to his feet, went round to her, and kissed her, with his arms around her. "I do not deserver you!" He said with a chuckle.

Raven was so nervous. Would he like it? Would he wear it? He didn't have any rings only braclets and necklaces and she wanted her gift to stand out for him a little bit more than the others. She bit her lower lip as she watched him open the box and a smile cross his face. She sighed softly in releif when he took the ring from the box and slid it onto his right hand completeing his little jewelry set adding another piece he would put on in the mornings. He rose quickly and came around the table,, her sky blue eyes watched him the entire time as he rounded the table and kissed her. Her arms wrapped around his neck softly as she kissed him back for as long as she could. The kiss broke and he exclaimed that he did not deserve her making her blush and giggle.
"It's I who doesn' deserve you Seddy." she said with a soft smile as she ran her fingers over his cheek and looked up at him longingly. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me, and I want to make sure you know it. That no one could ever come between us." she promised softly as she kissed him quickly once more.
"So what should we do tomorrow? I was thinking we could go into the little village town they have here and do some shopping, or maybe there was a hike that went up a mountain that was unskiiable. Maybe that, or maybe we could go snowboarding again." she offered trying to make the most of their first vacation together.

((ooc: sorry if i skipped a bit much. Writing about eating isn't exactly interesting...))
The rest of the night went on lovingly, as expected of course. Sedrix felt highly flattered and appreciative of her gift, if not a bit insecure, and selfish as he was not conscientious enough to get Raven a gift, but he could ammend that tomorow, it was just working out how to do it. Yeah they would go shopping, but it's difficult to organise a surprise for someone with them constantly with you. Sedrix would figure something out though.
It seemed, somehow, that gift, and the words they shared, seemed to be a whole new step in their relationship. Raven uttered the most wonderful words in her eccentric russian accent, words that made Sedrix's heart warm. He kissed her again, hardly thinking of a response to match it, and moved back to his seat, sneakily dragging it further round the table to Raven.
"Yeah, there are loads of things to do. But as a rule, you never go snowboarding on the second day!" he said in a obviously sarcastic professional voice, "Nah, it's a thing with me and me mates. If you push yourself too hard on the first days, then you just ache and it ruins the rest of the week." He said slightly more straightly. "Shopping sounds good," He said, 'an oppertunity to get a gift' he thought. He was glad Raven suggested it so it did not seem to obvious.
"Tell you what, we'll have a little bit of a lie in, then head down to town. Buy some nice picnic food, head down to the lake we saw heading in, have a little picnic, start a fire to keep warm," each point or detail made Sedrix's voice more vacant, he was daydreaming about it as he spoke. "How does that sound?"
