The gondola seemed an endless experience, as Sedrix shuffeled in his thick black coat, and big boots. It got colder as it rose up to the pinical of the mountain tops, the glaciers, and that wonderful powder. Sedrix tapped his boots on the floor in impatience, and straightened his gloves, wiped his goggles, fiddled with the bindings of his snowboard, anything to distract his attention from the monotony, the annoyance of that long lift. He wind blew against the mountain tops, whisping that light powder up, spreading it around. There were very few tracks, it seemed not many people were skiiers or snowboarders here. He ahd tried to make do with the dry ski-slope, and the desertous sand boarding, but they just could not compare.
Finally, her arrived at the departure station, he was up in time for the doors to open. He ran out in exceitent, pulling down his black goggles as he did. He ran outside, as that first whiff of cold air blew against his face, he ran for the hill edge, and threw himself and his snowboard down. He quickly clipped in his feet, and tightened the bindings, making sure that he could just feel them with the top of his feet. He tightened his boot laces, zipped up the top of his coat, tucking the ski pass in, and stood back up. His board in place.
He waited a moment, letting this wonderous feeling sink in. He looked down at the steep hill below, at all the snow laced trees. The sky was clear blue, it was amazing conditions. Only a few other skiiers gently snaked down, he would have top show them how it was done, although it was difficult indeed, he had not done this in a couple of years. He slowly edged the top of his board down the hill, quickly moving down. He leant forward onto his front foot, then shifted his weight to turn in, now sliding down backwards, quicker still. He turned again, more tightly, and headed down at more of an angle, to catch some speed. His blonde hair was wrapped in a pony tail, and still waved behind him.
He turned a few more times, before pointing straight down the mountain. He gained some speed, and turned side to side quickly, slowing down slightly, jsut enough to keep absolute control, as he moved quickly past all the amatuer skiiers. He turned once more, a long, and drifted turn into the next path, cut off by foliage. He stood upright, not slowed down, and in control. He smiled, and took in that fresh air. It felt so good to be doing this again, it felt more like home, the first frost when him and his friends would head to the hills, and snowboard down together. The best days of his life, but it was like it was re-made, if only there was someone there to share the feeling with him.
Suddenly he thought of Raven, the goregeous girl he had been on one date with, He had told her about his snowboarding, and she offered too come with, although had never snowboarded before. He was ready for the chance of instructor. He came to the bottom, to the first station of the gondola. He came to an easy halt, and unclipped hi bindings stood up. He hopped off, and picked up his board, undoubtably going to go again. He shoved it under his arm, and went towards the lift at a quickened walk. he walked through, the automatic ticket readers a god send in time saving.
He got on another cable car, headed for the second peak. The first was low, and full of blue runs (which for non-winter sporters is the easiest of three, it then goes red, and black is hardest.) The second peak was mostly reds, with one black, off piste down to the car park. That owuld be saved for when he wanted too leave. Also in the direction of the gondola station was a snow-park, and a drag -lift. Maybe he could re-learn his tricks. His mind was dizzy in anticipation, and excitement, what to do first?
The wait was far shorter in his day dream state of mind as he came to the top of peak two. He came to the hill top with the same speed and enthusasm as before, clipping his board on quickly and efficiantly, waiting to go. This time he waited, sta down for just a minute or so, hoping someone would come and sit, or stand next to him, someone he could conect with, and who could go down the mountain with him.

Travis stood in the coffee shop absent mindedly playing with the buttons of his jacket, clicking them open and then popping them shut again.Hee been doing it for five minutes with out noticing the the annoyed glances he was beginning to get. They must have been quite relived when his turn finally came up and the and he stopped.
"One mint and vinllia hot chocolate please,"
"Come right up,". Travis stood patiently . He couldn't help but rub his hands with glee as as he saw the hot chocolate being made.
"thats $3 please,"
Travis fished in his wallet and took out the correct amount of change and a little extra. He placed the ten dollar bill, the smallet form of change he had on his person at that moment on the counter and slid it across.
" Here, keep the change," He gave the cute girl at the counter a warm smile and then left drawing the hot chocolate close to his body for warmth. It felt great, the conflict between the hot chocolate in his hands and the cold mountain air that surrounded him. The sweet smell of pine trees was thick in the crisp air. Leaning against the window was his snowboard it's yellow and black design shining in the sun light. He brushed some melting ice off the top and tucked it i under his arm.
He took a deep breath, the freezing air rushing into his lungs, then blowing out it out again trying to make little smoke rings of steam. The white mist mixed with hot wisps that were coming of the frothing brown liquid and he watched as the it swirled together and up out of sight. He took a sip of the hot chocolate and waundered down the main street area. There wasn't much really a few shops, two or three hotels but the lack of buildings was more than made up for by the number of people that mingled around enjoying the days sun shine. Travis scanned the area for a place to sit and enjoy the rest of his day.
He couldn't find any in the centre of town but he did eventually find one near the bottom of the slopes. He couldn't of asked for a better spot to while away the hours, with the mountain grand and majesti streching out in front of him. He wasn't alone though it seemed like another saw exactly what he saw in this spot.
"Is it ok if i sit here?"

Just as he was thinking of the company, another young, male snowboarder came to his side. He was a good foot shorter than him, and younger too. He was holding a snowboard with an elequant yet simplistic design in black and yellow. He requested a seat next too Sedrix, just on top of the slope. Of course his response would be,
"'Course you can," In his raccous English accent. He finshed clipping in both bindings, then leant back on his arms. He offered a hand for a handshake. He looked at his own board, it was an alpine board, longer and straight at one end, for greater speed, and turning capabilities. It was black, with a red back, which faded into the black. The bottom of the board is the same design, only with the company name, Burton, imprinted in a deep maroon letters, stylish lettering, as if hand painted in caligrophy, but obviously it wasn't, he wasn't that rich.
He looked down the steep hill, some looked like patches of dry ice. The path was cut of by the goregeous trees once again, into a thin track, no wider than four snowboards. It was not quite as steep, but enough to keep you going quite quickly. It would be a challenge to slow down properly without hitting the curbs. So you would have to keep the speed up. It was either that route, or one that curved left, to another steep hill, ending up at the first gondola station, and the snow park once more.
He looked at the map to the right, the thin track also lead down to the gondola, but heading around the snow park. It was longer, which was an inscentive, but the snow park was a larger inscentive. He turned back to face the boy who had sat next to him. "So, left, or straight?" He asked, because honestly, he would be happier as long as he could get boarding as soon as humanly possible. He loved snowboarding, it was the best feeling when you hit a turn too cut the powder just right, or hit a ramp with a graceful grab, and land successfully.
"My names Sed by the way." He said with a smile.

OOC:(Hey sorry its taken me so long to respond been really busy but now its over )
IC
"Cheers" he said smiling, his orange goggles slipping from slightly where they were pearched upon his balck and white bobble hat as he sat down finally able to free up hs arms .The boy offered his hand and Travis shook it warmly. More so than he normally would. The boys accent, it was familiar to him and he immediatly new from which country the boy hailed. He'd heard accents like that for many years of life. He'd never really realised how muched he had missed it. Of course being nosteligica about the past wasn''t going to change much in the present and plus his memory of back then weren't exactly the most peaceful. |He could feel himslef wince slight as he looked down at his right arm where a praticluraly large scar was underneath layers of warm clothing and his white jacket. It was just nice to have soemthing trip his memory and allow him to wander once more down memory lane.
He took another sip of the rappidly cooling chocolate. He couldn't call it hot anymore . It was nothing more than warm at best but he drank it thankfully reguardless enjoying the mix of vinnilia and mint. The boy spoke and he turned to face him staring at the map of the snow park "Um," he took a look at the map studying closely for a few seconds. "Personally i like the look of the left, you get a longer run, and there' a few jumps near the bottom that i'd like to hit."
"and judging by your board you have a need for speed, so the longer the run the better."
" It's a nice board you've got there. He said looked down at the sleek and narrow red and black Burton. You could tell it was a good board just byu looking at it. "I've always liked alpines but you just never felt comfortable on them so i stuck to all-mountian. I'm more of a trick person than speed."
"Sed is It I'm Travis nice to meet you," he downed the final drops of hot chocolate and through the polytsrene cup into the nearest bin. " The powder sure is great today," he picked up the snow a hand full of snow and began to rubb it inbetween his fingers leaving the small flasked to fall to the ground slowly .

ooc: No worries man, sorry for late reply myself ;D
He sat down next to Sedrix as approved, wearing a black and white hat, and a white jacket. He shook his hand warmly with a smile, a proper greeting. He was sipping on what smelled like a hot chocolate, until he finished it, and chucked the cup into a nearby bin. Sed had no time for drinks, he just wanted to snowboard all day. He answered Sedrix's question about which run to take with the same answer Sedrix would give. Left, and the snow park.
His alpine board was terrible on halfpipes, because of lack on manuverability, but he could build up lots of speed for jumps, and rails, which he did rather well. Although, again because of the lack of mauverability, spins were a problem, and he only felt comfortable with a three-sixty at best, he was worried about landing so the flat side faced forward, and he would stack and plunge into the snow at quite some speed. But my oh my could he get some speed, he had the technique of turning sharply, and thinnly so well, that he hardly lost speed from his turns too.
The new guy complmented his board, and said how he liked the all mountain boards, which was cool. "Tricks eh? Well, as you can probably predict, i'm more a fan of the speed, but i can do a thing or two at the park, no worries." The new guy then introdiced himself as 'Travis', and greeted him properly, "Cool too meet you too man." Sedrix replied.
"The powder does look awesome indeed, great for cutting." Sedrix said. This talk of snowboards made him want to go even more. He planted his hands on the floor, and boosted strongly of the ground, turning around, and coming too a stop a couple of feet below, he looked up at Travis, "Ready to go? No point talking up here all day." Impatiently.

The glistening white powder finished falling out of the palm of his hands the last few soft flakes reaching the floor. Yeah we better get going, the days waisting away with us just sitting here doing nothing." He reached down and began to adjusting the tightness of his the soft style boots with a hand. The catches stuck fast probably due to the cold. It took both hands to unclip the straps and adjust them. If he could have sen his face while he was wrestling with the straps he would have laughed. His face the a a picture of pure determination and will to get it open.
" I could easily spend a day here watching but, going down the mountain seems a much more fun way to spend the day wouldn't you say?" He said moving on to the next boot. It was pain no doubt about it, trying the get the catches off the cream boots he was renting open. In his mind he cursed his recent growth spurt that stopped hi using his own bots.
" Right, there lets get going," he said finally. There was a hint of achievement in his voice even though managing to beat a pair of boots wasn't really something to gain much in with way of achievement from. He got up pushing off and quickly catching up with Sed.
The closer the two got to the Gondola the more the anticipation rose within him, It made all of his extremities tingle. He pulled some orange tinted goggles that, had been sitting on top of his head for most of the day with no real purpose other than until now down over his eyes.
" You seem to know your way around here really well" He said as he again dodged another person who was moving with no sense of purpose. " you come here very often?"

Travis fiddled with his boot straps and such before rising to his feet and suggesting they get going. Sedrix gently pointed his nose down the mountain, and turned in, now facing downwards, he made a wide turn to give him a wider track down to the turn in. With that he span around, and pelted down the mountain, turning sharply, and shortly, left to right. Travis soon caught up, but Sedrix was holding back a little, he wanted to hang out with someone on the slopes.
They were moving rather quickly through the small crowds of ski schools, and tourists. They weaved elegantly in and out, Travis' board being better suited in this situation with larger range of turns. Sedrix bent a little lower to gain some force and speed. They beat the crowd with moderate ease and came to eachothers sides. Travis asked if he had been here before, and the simple answer was "Nah i haven't. but i do have quite a lot of experience in snowboarding in general."
Him and his family went skiing/snowboarding twice a wyear from when he was eight, up too fourteen. "What about you, you come here at all?" Sedrix asked, excitement pouring through his heart as he started to see the gondola station in the distence, meaning one thing "Snow park!" He said, smirking. They came into the top of the park and Sedrix turned sharply, slowing down to walking pace. cHis eyes darted around the various ramps, rails, and one long half pipe. He planned his route to avoid the half pipe, but hit as many ramps as possible.
He turned to Travis still just next to him, and said with a certain sarcastic eccentricity, "After you."

" Nah this is only my second time up here." His gaze didn't meet Sed . it was as if he was looking at him but looking past hin at everything that was happen around them. "I've been a couple times before, i think something like five or six." He said trying to recall all the different mountains he raced down, all the half pipes i he'd ridden, and all the different kinds of powder he'd cut. "but Yeah," His thoughts turn back to the present with a slight resultants as if trying to cling on some of those nostalgic memories. "Most of those were before my dad died and that was quite a while back." As his spoke his voice held no sadness or any other emotion for that matter. the way he spoke it was matter of fact and there was no way around it.
As the two glided to wards the snow park He Began to plan his run, trying to pick is favorite line down the mountain . He'd probably end up going on the one which could fit in most jumps.
When Seed saw the Snow Park he contained most of his excitement and gave a little smirk. Travis couldn't help give ad board smile back. Like a little kid at Christmas open his new toy.
The from the top of the snow park the view was amazing Travis couldn't wait to get started and rush down the hill his body tingled all over at the mere thought." Alright all get things started he replied smiling."See ya at the bottom". Travis took off staying low so that his hand brushed against the snow as he swept to the right, to wards the first jump he'd sighted way down at the bottom of the snow park. It seemed so far away from up here. As it if would take a age to reach.
