Storm clouds rumbled on by Felix in his Matrix, not all together oblivious to him as he drove without his radio on. In fact, had it been on, he wouldn't have heard anything anyways. He always drove with his volume all the way down when storms ran through San Fransisco. Something about them reminded himself of him, way back when. Calm, collective and altogether relatively cool under pressure, but when things built up he unleashed his rage and it was never pretty to witness.
"Now, I vent in productive ways, but I still don't know what this life here holds for me." He drove on, left hand holding onto the steering wheel as he sped down the nearly deserted road. The windshield wipers squeaked back and forth, removing with great haste the water cascading down upon his car. He was heading to a pier that he often found himself at when he needed to think about things.
He slowly turned into the long stretch of parking that had been placed to accompany the lone standing pier. The pier itself reached quite a ways towards the open waters, almost as if it wanted to detach itself from its supporting struts and drift off to a better place. He laughed to himself for a little bit, "I really need to find some place with better shelter for when it storms like this." Parking his Matrix he turned his keys and the car died. 'Just a flick of the switch and life is snuffed out it. I wonder...'
He grabbed his storm coat, a knee length rain coat that was water resistant, in a light color, like a grey and slipped it on as he stepped out of his car. He hit the lock button on his keypad and pocketed his keys, bringing up the hood of his stormcoat over his head. He got one that was a bit larger, so that he could let it hang well over the edge of his face, and so that when he moved his head from left to right, the hood would have enough slack to not catch and follow his motion. The rain pattered down and he heard each drop that hit the hood. Making his way towards the bridge up the pier, he thanked himself silently for buying the new pair of boots he had tied to his feet. His pants were different as well, khaki's in the same greyish color as his coat. Though they were still rather baggy, they hung over his boots and the back end dragged on the wet wood. His turtleneck sweater, black in color was keeping him warm enough and his hands were stuffed inside two of the many pockets his new coat housed.
"It's a whole new beginning for me." He looked to the end of the pier and smiled. Continuing to walk to the end, he look out and around him, not seeing a soul on the beach. Would someone happen to drive by and see him, he wouldn't be adverse to a visitor, though that might start his plan a little bit early. Felix couldn't really keep to himself what he wanted to do, and he himself didn't even know his full plan.
He found himself after a few minutes at the end of the pier. He considered placing his hands on the wooden railing, the paint was chipping away, not to mention his hands would be chilled to the bone. He left them in his pockets. "So what to do, what to do?" His question directed towards the churning water, as if it would provide advice at a moments notice. "Right now things are going to get out of hand, extremely fast. I have options, and then I have things I must do to stay as myself." The crashing waves and an omnious thunder were his replies. He smiled out across the ocean. It was a thing of beauty to him. 'Something so calm can turn in an instant and become deadly.'
The smile never left his face, but he turned his back on the raging waters. The patter from the rain was beginning to subside, though still coming down on top of him. He looked over his shoulder, the water was still raging its one person battle. "Thank you." He looked back towards his car, to find another near it. 'I wonder..'
He shrugged and made his way back down the pier, boots clunking heavily against the wood and the rain still pattering down on his coat hood, though with less ferocity and less quantity. He made it to the end of the pier when a thundering crash could be heard. He looked up, removing his hood slightly so that he could see the greys and whites and blacks of the sky swirl with the storm. Lighting streaked across the sky and Felix smiled again. "So beautiful and so deadly. I wonder, how will things turn out for me." His plan would come together, but it would hurt a few in the process. 'Then again, it would only truly hurt one person.' He walked to his Matrix and before he brought his keys out of his pocket, the reflection that stared back at him made him realize that the only person who would get hurt, was in fact, himself.
Just as his realization hit him, the rain started back up again. Felix neither moved nor made notice of the torrential downpour that fell around him. His plan was set, and he would follow through with it to the end.
