"So... remind me, why are we out here again?"
With a loud sigh, Pain Killer opened his eyes and turned his head towards his sister, his displeasure at the fact he had to explain himself again making itself readily apparent. The sun's glare off the water forced him to squint, especially considering Mya had decided to lie down on her side at the edge of the surf. At least he'd managed to talk her into wearing a regular one-piece swimsuit, rather than the bikini she'd intended on having earlier. Of course, she was dressed much more appropriately than her younger brother, who had opted for a red muscleshirt and black jeans, the same as he typically wore anywhere else.
"Because this is where I told him to meet me."
"Well, duh. But why are we meeting with him again?"
"Because I'm going to win this time. I will not live my life as his second."
"...Fine, fine. Whatever."
Mya rolled her eyes, knowing full well there was no talking her brother out of this. Certain things were important to him, and she knew she would need to respect those things. Pain Killer, however, closed his eyes once more, blocking out the excess of light that was beginning to annoy him. His mind wandered as he waited, thinking back to the phone call he'd made just ten minutes earlier. Nothing fancy, of course, as nothing about Adam had ever been particularly complicated. Just a simple message for Taiku to meet him at the beach near the pier.
He'll figure it out, I'm sure he will. After all, what else would I call him for?
Confident Taiku would know full well why the self-proclaimed Pain Killer had wanted to meet him in such an open area, Adam stood in the sand and waited, desperately trying to hide the growing excitement he felt.

ooc: Apologies on the length of the post. Future ones will be shorter.
ic:
Closing the phone into his pocket with a slow shift of his back, he pushed up from his chair and clicked his speed-dial on the house line...Two rings later, in prompt timing as always, Legion answered the line and he spoke quickly and calmly to Rene.
"Yeah, I've got something to do today. I'll be busy until later so can you cover for me until then?"
"That depends, are you fighting...?"
"In a sense, it's more of a rematch with an old acquaintance though...No bad karma going on. I'm taking Reiko with me, she's been pestering to watch me fight recently, find out if I'm going easy on her."
"Fine, at least there's SOMEONE who might be able to keep an eye on you..."
"Doubtful, but your concern is overwhelming. Talk to you later."
"You too, have fun."
Setting the phone down, he glanced at himself, noting his loose attire would actually serve quite well for the rematch, though he'd probably opt to go barefoot. Fighting on sand was annoying in any regard, but without footwear to give awkward grip on it, he'd have much less trouble. Pushing to his feet, he strolled through the penthouse without breaking a step, bounding the staircase and drumming against the girls door.
"Reiko! Get your coat, we're going for a drive."
~Shortly~
He parked as close to the sand as he could, paying little mind to where Adam might be. It was mid October, not exactly beach-going time even in California, but it wasn't too cold. Just cold enough to keep the sun-junkies off the waterfront. They'd be easy to spot...
"So, uh, why are we here.....?"
"I'm meeting someone, I owe him a rematch from a fight a while back, not long before I met you back in Hokkaido, actually. I figure this way you'll be able to see my best with your own eyes and not from what you've heard."
Her eyes had nearly lit up as the pair paced loosely off the concrete and onto the sand, a small grin emerging as the prospect grew on her further...However, he didn't bother to speak after that, choosing only to retreat into his own head, his instinctive movements drawing him toward a pair who seemed awfully out of place on the sandy shoreline. Sure enough, he knew, it would be Adam. The other one, his sister perhaps?
'I hope she's gotten her strength back after all that crap with Trent....'
The thought was a splinter of conscience for the girl, and he quickly continued to focus on nothing more than his opponent as he paced without speed or hesitation, his hands loosely hooked into the pockets of his pants, and before long the four would stand a short distance apart as the two males faced off from one another. Dropping to a knee for a moment, he unfastened his shoes and pulled them off, followed by his socks, and handed them to Reiko before slipping the hoodie free, letting it simply drop to his side. He wore nothing under it, as he found comfortable, and as such it was just another repeated action for the young man. He'd been in this situation hundreds of times before by now and had stopped counting a long, long time ago.
But this would be a fight to stand out for him, considering it was one of the very few he had specifically agreed and pre-arranged, even if the cash-in on it was somewhat abrupt.
"Couldn't you have called me here in a few hours? We could have set a great mood with the sunset and all..."
The smile was genuine, not exactly warm, but the curl of his lips was a gesture of goodwill outside of the fight. He gave this behemoth a lot of respect, and got a good amount right back as far as he could see, and whilst he would hold no stitch of effort back in the imminent clash, he wasn't beyond a friendly quip or two...

OOC: As long as you don't expect me to match it, you can post as long as you want. IC: "Is that your friend?" The moment the question left Mya's lips, Adam's eyes shot open, quickly focussing on the approaching figures. He'd expected Taiku to come alone, though truth be told, he didn't mind that the older man's cousin had come along as well. She was one of the few he could understand and respect, not like the other kid who had shown up in the woods when they had met for the first time. As Taiku disrobed, Pain Killer pulled off his trenchcoat and tossed it to the side, hesitating for a moment before taking off his own shoes and socks. The possibility of shoes giving him less traction didn't occur to him, only the simple belief that he was keeping things even and fair. Otherwise, his victory would be hollow. "What do you think this is, a movie? The big climactic battle at sunset is too cliche for my liking. Besides, this way, we don't have a time limit before things get too dark to see clearly." Pain Killer smirked, hanging his thumbs from the inside of his pockets. He didn't have much practise with this kind of friendly interaction, but knew that the more he tried, the faster he'd get the hang of it. "You brought the angry kitten, too? I guess it never hurts to have an audience." With a small sigh, Mya took this opportunity to stand up, brushing some of the wet sand from her side before waving towards Taiku and Reiko. "Since my brother seems to have forgotten his manners, I'll introduce myself. I'm Mya. Apparently, I was supposed to be here in case something accidentally went too far?" Despite her cheerful tone, it was obvious Mya was somewhat worried about the combat about to occur. Despite whatever history Taiku and Adam may have had, she still didn't know the asian man very well, and as such, was naturally concerned for her brother's welfare. Her hands clasped behind her back, keeping them out of the way as she didn't have any pockets to work with unlike Pain Killer, who had taken this opportunity to start stretching out his arms and shoulders, shaking them out in order to get the blood flowing.

Shrugging his shoulders, a light smirk on his face, he gave a conceding nod to the remark.
"I suppose that's true, but I'd not planned on dragging this out for terribly long..."
Glancing over at Reiko when Adam remarked at her presence, quickly followed by Mya speaking up for the first time, he gave her a short nod...It was plain to see that, at least physically, she was in decent condition. Her mind was another story, at least in theory, but the fact she was relatively unharmed after everything was good to know.
"Taiku. A pleasure to meet you, Mya. As for anything getting 'too far', I'd not worry too much. Your brother can take a good deal of whipping before going down...."
Again, with a smirk, the comment left his lips. He was in good spirits for the match ahead, and had no intention of being rude. His attention to Adam never faltered though, and he didn't even take his eyes off the taller male as he spoke. Slowly stretching his arms out to his sides, reaching back and clasping his fingers into each other, he leaned backward and sighed quickly as a few light cracks escaped the taut joints before letting them fall to his sides again. The smile had gone, and as he took a step or two away from Reiko he nodded to her before stepping towards Adam.
"By my reckoning, you get to start this time around. After this, win or lose, that's it. Deal?"
A brief offer of his outstretched hand, with the eyes still not moving, and whether it was shaken or not mattered little. He simply intended to make his point now rather than later.

"He's probably too stubborn for his own good."
With a giggle, Mya backed up a few steps, giving the fighters plenty of room to work with. Adam, of course, never took his eyes off Taiku, not wanting to seem intimidated by the former gang leader. Even as the older man spoke, Pain Killer was already pulling his right leg back, turning his left side towards Taiku. His right fist rose to hover next to his jaw, while the left hand remained open, placed close to his left shoulder.
"I won't need another rematch after this, old man. This time, I'll prove that I'm not just as good, but actually better than you."
As always, the words came out as arrogant and hostile, though Pain Killer didn't particularly mean them in a cruel way. Instead, it was simply the way he was. He hesitated for a moment, allowing Taiku to make any preperations he deemed appropriate, before shuffling forwards, his left foot dragging across the sand before pulling his right leg afterwards.
Provided Taiku hadn't made any offensive moves. Adam would thrust his left hand forward in a quick jab towards Taiku's jaw, sacrificing power for speed as he would retract the limb as fast as he had sent it out. Of course, such a move was fairly predictable, but it was intended to make the older man react, and begin the arduous task of breaking down his defenses bit by bit.

Shrugging his shoulders as he lowered his hand, he stood with unraised fists again as he angled himself more favourably onto his left, and front, foot. Shunting the ball of his back foot against the sand to 'anchor' the appendage in the mildly awkward surface, his body lowered around an inch or so, coiling like a spring as he awaited the opening punch. Given Adams penchant for making 'quick' opening blows, he was fairly expectant on what was to come.
True enough, and as the jab was thrown to his head the Asian would weave to the outside of the blow, his own left arm coming up on the outside to act as a barrier between the two, before pivoting as his right foot came around to keep facing Adam as much as he could with the passive lunge. In doing so, a sharp though hardly threatening right cross would aim to strike firmly against the lower side of his larger foes back, roughly around the kidney area. Being smaller and much lighter effectively gave the elder of the pair a substantial advantage in agility, and whilst Adams punch was indeed quicker than his normal blows, Taiku would have little trouble evading such a simple strike.

As soon as Taiku began to move, Adam's eyes tracked his progress, paying attention to the motion. The strike hadn't been expected to land, though it would have been a welcome surprise if it had, but rather, force Taiku to move and open himself up more. Even as Taiku stepped to Pain Killer's left, Adam began pulling back his left foot, turning to face the older man. His left forearm, braced against Taiku's defending limb, would shove against it in a backhanded push, thrusting Taiku's hand towards his face in order to impair his vision.
With Adam's turn, the blow Taiku had swung would strike the larger male in the lowest ribs, serving as a painful reminder to the self-proclaimed Pain Killer of his foe's speed. It was a troublesome fact to deal with, to be sure, but one he had gotten used to; facing someone stronger than him would cause more distress. The moment the blow struck, Adam would let out a low grunt in response, an instinctual response to the impact on his flesh. His right hand, however, would dip during his turn, before exploding forward in an uppercut aimed towards Taiku's sternum, ideally going unnoticed due to Taiku's left hand being pushed towards his face.

To the end of the motion, Taiku would have been moving backward, using his punch not just to strike his vertically advantageous foe but to maintain at least his OWN arms length between the pair at this early stage of the fighting...His hand being pushed back against him, however, would serve to slightly block his direct sight with Adam for a moment before he drove against the pushing limb, crossing it back and away from his body to his left. It would go against his initial effort to keep the bigger fighter from him, but the shift in position would, hopefully, be at least mildly favourable. Twisting his body to push, invariably a great deal more challenging for him than Adam by all means, his right side would draw forward to attempt to give more force into his deflecting movement.
It would appear, in that regard, he'd be given a slight disadvantage in balance, as the following blow from his opponent would now have a very tell-tale wind-up to be executed. As the fist began to rise, coming more to the side of his midsection than his sternum now, Taiku would relent to slamming the palm of his right hand into the oncoming fist with a hefty groan. Connecting against him, his palm doing a fine job of slowing the blow but not quite stopping it, he would give a sharp bark of noise from his lips before his left swung back around to throw a surprisingly vicious left hook at the taller fighters chin. Banking very much on the close quarters the two were in leaving Adam with no room for evasion, it would have the potential to knock the larger male to the side for a moment as Taiku set about backing away, his palm resting against where the shot to his ribs would have landed.

As always, Pain Killer felt a moment of satisfaction as his blow struck home. It didn't quite hit with the force he had intended, but in the end, it was still a landed strike. However, this feeling was cut short as Taiku began to whip his left hand back towards Pain Killer's face, the larger man much too slow to evade the attack even if he had noticed it in time. However, even this fact wouldn't keep him from trying to turn a disadvantage into an advantage.
Adam's left arm, still underneath Taiku's left from his deflection, would shoot upwards, smacking his forearm into the older man's upper arm, where it formed the armpit. Far from being a damaging move, instead, the motion would serve to jerk Taiku's arm upwards, ruining a good deal of the momentum behind his attack. The fact that Adam's arm had less distance to travel was the only reason it would manage to interfere in time.
Of course, Taiku's blow would still land against Adam's chin, though lessened to a degree, knocking Pain Killer's head back slightly as his left foot dug into the sand, working to keep his balance stable. His left hand would grip against Taiku's left armpit, holding the side of Taiku's torso in an attempt to aid his efforts to remain in a good position.
Rather than allow the older man to get away with such a free attack, Adam would place his right hand against Taiku's stomach and together with his left hand, pull Taiku towards him, pressing his forearms into the former gang leader's torso in order to direct his spine to be facing Adam during the pull. At the same time, Pain Killer would thrust his left knee forward, aimed direct at the small of the back of his foe.

'He bought it...'
Though in his head the Asian would be giving a brief mental smile at the turn of events, he gave nothing away to his opponent...Three prior fights against the same person, you take note of where they can outdo you and start to make small changes to safeguard against it. For Adam Rydell, his greatest strength, in all three encounters with Taiku, had been when he had the elder man in some form of hold. In times past, Taiku would have scrambled to escape these, making a more than often futile effort at wrestling against the obviously superior strength of his opponent. On only one occasion had he managed to free himself as the less injured from one of those encounters, and it had stuck to his mind.
The effort to put distance between them was like dangling a carrot in front of a donkey, and Adam seemingly lunged for the chance to prevent his opponent getting any distance. As he was drawn in, Taikus arms both free enough for his intentions,** the bigger man attempted to take his blind side. Taiku would instead come in towards Adam, pivoting around on his upper body to his left. His left elbow would be the first weapon to attack, a lightning fast slashing blow to the side of the self-proclaimed Pain Killers near cheek, before his right fist shot forward in what would logically be an uncontested cross punch directly to the middle of Adams face, potentially unawares and unprepared for the second of the blows.
Of course, sacrifices were kept in mind for these types of manouveres. It forced Taiku to endure blows that against smaller fighters he could have scraped free from, but the knee would inevitably connect, albeit with the top of his pelvis, where the peak of his thigh muscle began to link to his abdomen on his left side. However, all things considering, if his two blows were successful he would most likely have a moment to bear the initial flare of fire that ran through his leg from the hit, giving him a second or two to put a little distance between him and Adam.
**Unless I misread your post, I would still have enough mobility to pull this off. If there's any objections, IM me. You know the drill.

With something akin to joy, Pain Killer watched as the elbow flew towards his face, helpless to do anything to truly evade or block the blow. His limbs were all in use, and the best he could attempt was to turn his face to the right as he was struck in the cheek, his teeth slicing into the flesh and sending a small trail of blood spraying from his mouth. The strike took the larger man off guard, ruining his already precarious balance, and the moment the knee struck Taiku, Adam found himself falling forwards and down, his right knee buckling from the impact. This motion would save him from the full force of Taiku's second blow, as his fist would glance off the top of Adam's forehead, doing negligible damage due to the rounded nature of his skull.
Bastard... that hurt...
His right knee struck the sand, a soft cushion compared to the throbbing in his cheek, causing him to end up in a kneeling position in front of Taiku, his right hand still holding onto Taiku's torso, though admittedly lower at this point. The left hand had slid off, falling to the far side of Taiku's torso, forming a loose waist hold similiar to what Pain Killer had used in their tournament match. Surging forwards, Pain Killer brought himself to a squat position, ramming his shoulder into Taiku's stomach while wrapping his arms around the smaller man in a bear hug, clutching his left wrist with his right hand.
Coiled as he was, now it was a matter of Taiku's reactions to such a hold, before Pain Killer would follow through with his typical single minded determination.

ooc: Short and sweet.
ic:
With his drop to a kneeling position, Taiku spared no second in taking advantage of Adams more prone position. A knee would be the most effective, though likely too obvious, and as such the Asian chose to attack from above, where Adams lowered body would be unable to either see or properly intercept. Bringing his hands together, bunching the fist of one and clasping his hand around the other, he brought them down, a hammer-smash to the back of the bigger mans head that would, hopefully, knock him forward and further to the ground.
However, this was not to be all that would come from the elder of the pair...If he scored a successful connection with the fists, he would immediately snap his right knee forward, using the hopeful disorientation of the headshot to catch Adam further off guard and pick away at him a little more as he forced down his opponents head, preventing him from having a clear sight of anything as the blows were fired off repeatedly.

Given the positioning he was in. Pain Killer couldn't see what the older man was doing from waist height upwards. As such, he had to rely on his grip on Taiku's waist to give him clues on how his foe was moving, and react accordingly. However, the pace was so fast that he would not have had the time to adjust for what Taiku was throwing his way, which was both dangerous and exciting to the younger of the two, reminding him of the good old days. The way he used to fight, going purely on instinct, no attempts at reading his opponents moves and countering.
Pure, reckless fun.
His surge forward to get a better grasp wound up saving him, his head pressed against Taiku's side making it awkward at best for the former gang leader to hit him with a hammer blow. In such close quarters, an elbow would've been more effective, but that would have required some impressive foresight. Instead, the blow would hammer into the most muscular part of the punch-heavy fighter's back, catching him in the right shoulder blade.
Without missing a beat, Pain Killer dug into the sand, driving himself forward into the older man regardless of whether Taiku followed through with his plan to push Pain Killer's head down. Instead, Pain Killer was focused on tackling Taiku to the ground, pushing him back and pulling him downwards, hopefully putting him off balance should Taiku have attempted his knee, though otherwise, Adam would rely on his strength and momentum to bring the smaller man down.
Should his move succeed, Pain Killer would wind up on top of Taiku, his arms releasing their grip while he pulled his knees up to either side of Taiku's hips, before sitting up in a kneeling position, eager to start dishing out the punishment and give himself the victory in this fight.

Shunting into his ribs, Adam would indeed put the smaller and lighter fighter off his balance. His raised knee causing his right side to be much more abruptly shifted than his left, Taiku made the snap reflex to not fight the fall and instead move with the motion, grasping onto the back of his larger foes shirt with his left hand and continuing to drive down on Adams head with his right forearm, the pair would most likely hit the ground at a momentum-controlled angle, the twist putting both of them onto their side.
The drop, however, would likely hold more impact for the larger man, considering his thrust forward would be accentuated by Taikus redirection to send him to the sand below much harder. At 'best', Adam would be unable to bring his arm up to stop him going headfirst into the sand, though that in itself wasn't entirely important to the Asian at the current moment. As he moved to gain ground control, using the awkward positioning he'd hoped to put his opponent in to make his efforts less precarious, the left would strike down as the elder put his entire upper body into the punch to (assumedly) the side of Adams jaw, aiming to score a decisive blow in the fight.
Whether successful or not, however, would determine just how he would proceed to move forward...If he'd got lucky, then after getting Adam down and scoring his punch, the blows would continue to rain down, random in target and swift enough to blanket his bigger opponent into defence, even with his reputation for taking punishment. If he'd been intercepted at any point, on the other hand, it would be a very different story.

One of the most often-used tactics of skilled fighters was to use their opponent's momentum against them, and Taiku seemed to be no exception. Given how high Pain Killer's grip was, however, his forearm was close to chin level, serving to raise his shoulders closer to his neck and providing a buffer against the impact on the sand. Even with such a fortunate turn of events, Pain Killer's head would smack against the sand, lessened from his shoulder and upper arm landing first. At the moment of impact, however, Adam had pulled his head back, narrowly managing to avoid having his head pinned by Taiku's torso into the sand.
His hands unclasped from behind Taiku's back, the right hand pulling back as his feet furiously dug into the sand, pushing his body higher up in order to bring himself closer to a face-to-face level with his opponent. If Taiku adjusted his attack, he'd likely manage to strike Pain Killer where he intented, otherwise, it would land against the larger man's right shoulder, giving him a sharp pain down his arm.
Regardless of whether the self-proclaimed Pain Killer had a sore jaw or a sore shoulder, his next action would be the same, as even a blow to the jaw would not stun a man like Adam for long. His right hand would swing forwards in a hook towards Taiku's face as the older man pulled back his attacking fist. The mindset was simple, one that Taiku likely knew all too well to expect from the younger male. A battle of attrition was what he hoped for, and something that Taiku would be hardpressed to win.

ooc: Excuse the tardiness. Writers block. Also, given how you'd described your grip before and bearing in mind you were on your knees, being able to hold a firm grip at chin-level seems a little 'off'. Just noting it, I'll roll with it in any case.
ic:
It would take very little to make the blow connect to its intended target, though the blow would be a little off from the squarely placed shot to the jaw to close to the cheekbone, below the eye socket with the change in position. Taiku would be able to twist himself enough to add some change in direction, but with the force he was throwing into this punch, he couldn't make much of an alteration. In any regard, however, this would likely prove to work in the Asians favour. The punch, as much as Adam could withstand pain, would likely be hard enough to cut the skin below his eye, and most likely be able to cause an instinctive closing of the bigger mans eyes.
Unlikely to prevent the punch being thrown, in fact more likely to encourage its execution in order to protect himself at the moment, Taiku knew full well the punch was going to catch him. He'd put a lot of power into his last strike, and whilst he knew his opponent would be feeling its effects, he also knew that he would not escape this fight unharmed. Keeping his head in to his shoulder as it came through, his muscles steeling up as it struck the side of his jaw roughly, he pushed his left leg against the sand to move with the connection, taking a fraction of the full strength out of it and saving him from losing any teeth, though the acrid taste of blood had begun to grow in his mouth.
Unless Adam had reflexes that rivalled his own, and could take a punch as hard as Taiku had thrown to his eye without any obscuring ill-effect, the pair would be removed from their close quarters situation as Taiku rolled across the sand, his body tossed to the side as a combination of his own movement and the punch, admittedly. Spitting the small mouthful of blood that was beginning to pool in the side of his cheek, he would push himself to his feet with a cautious shift, his fists tightening as he kept all focus on Adam.
'Maybe...Maybe this time he'll win. Is he really ready to do it?'
Adam would likely miss it unless he was watching the Asian males face, but a small hint of a smile had emerged on Taikus lips as the thought crossed his mind. He had no fear of losing in this fight, and whilst he would fight with everything he had, if he were still to fall, he would be proud of the younger fighters achievement. Yet, for now, his fists would raise calmly as he looked on at his foe.

OOC: Eh, you're probably misinterpreting what I meant by "high". No worries, though, it doesn't change anything.
IC:
Once Taiku began to roll away, Pain Killer would surprisingly do the same, scrambling to his feet while his right hand palmed the cut on his face. Sparing a glance from his opponent, Adam pulled his hand away and looked down at his hand, eyes widening at the blood found on his glove. Blood was nothing new, he'd been injured many times before, but this was the first time he'd actually been cut on his face, causing a new and altogether unpleasant sensation to flow through him.
Goddamnit, I'll kill you!
Fighting the urge to sprint towards the older man, Pain Killer would take a moment to compose himself, willing himself to calm down. If he wanted to win, he couldn't afford to make any foolhardy mistakes, the type that tended to come from his frustration. Taking a deep breath, Adam wiped the cut with his finger once more, removing the leaking liquid for the moment before holding his right fist near his face once again, the left hand open and raised near his left shoulder.
"One more. It's your turn."
With a quick gesture of his index and middle fingers, Adam signalled for Taiku to come at him, keeping with their pattern of alternating the first blow in each exchange. His right leg drew back, turning his left side towards his opponent. He couldn't afford any more unanswered blows like that last one, not against someone like Taiku, but then, the older man wouldn't be able to last long should he start connecting with his own attacks. Much as he hated to admit it, this fight was entertaining him immensely, the thrill of fighting someone who was just as good, if not better than himself was pushing him to try even harder than before.

ooc: Exactly, it just looked odd to me so I felt I'd remark on it, but it's no big deal.
ic:
"One more? If you want to end this here, Adam, I'll not refrain from the risk of a grave injury to either of us like I have been..."
With nothing but a plain expression on his face, quite suitably masking the fact that his cheek was throbbing from the last punch, his head would incline a fraction to the side as he spat a small amount of bloody saliva away, thumbing his lip to remove any outward trace of the fluid. A short, deep sigh would leave him, his eyes closing for a slow blink as he looked toward his larger opponent, a faint trace of a smirk on the corner of his mouth.
"...But then, if this is how we're gonna end it, we might as well go out with a real bang."
His position had shifted, quite noticeably in fact, and he no longer held his neutral posture as before, with no leading side. Now turning to put his right side dominant, his body lowered a few inches before he launched himself towards the larger fighter. They'd have rolled apart, but the distance wouldn't have been more than a couple of feet, enough to put them out of arms reach of one another. A distance, to that respect, that the elder of the two was capable of closing in mere instants as he threw out a swift right jab to Adams uncut eye, aiming to take advantage of the potential psychological threat it would pose to a slower fighter to lose the most valuable asset he'd have in keeping up with someone of Taikus speed.
The reaction to that jab would determine exactly what the elder would do next, and he already had several ways to slip past Adams initial defences...

"You shouldn't have been 'refraining' from anything to begin with. If you hold back, I guarantee, you're going to get hurt."
Even as Pain Killer finished giving what seemed like a warning, Taiku closed what little distance remained between the two, jabbing towards Adam's unharmed eye. Certainly one of the most important remaining assets he had, Pain Killer would not let such an attack land if he could help it. His left hand swung to his outside, backhanding Taiku's attacking arm at the wrist, deflecting it to the side, his torso turning to aid in the motion. At the same time, however, Adam would thrust his right hand forward in a cross, aimed squarely for the older man's throat, leaning his weight forward onto his left leg, while his right rested on the ball of his foot.
While potentially lethal, Pain Killer was counting on the fact that Taiku would do something about the blow heading towards his neck. He'd only aimed at such a dangerous target because it was harder for the more agile fighter to dodge as easily, and attempts to mitigate the damage would only aid Adam in the long run. Still, there was a good chance that his wily foe would manage to read the attack coming and evade, and so, Pain Killer would keep his eyes open for the inevitable counter.

ooc: Huge apologies. I've just been really lazy and spending time with Tanya this last week. I'll be certain to keep up the pace from here on out though, if you're still up to finishing this fight?
ic:
"I've held back against you before, Adam, I made it clear that this time I would do no such thing. If you're going to be able to beat me, I want you to do so with no questions unanswered."
The words were spoken as he reacted, natural inflections in his voice coming through with his swift movements. The deflection was textbook, and to slower fighters would likely have proven an absolute counter with virtually no answer, but he had thrown that right punch with two expectations in mind, that it would be blocked outright and force him into a deadlock he couldn't compete with in terms of power, or that Adam would continue to play the risky countering game. Inwardly, he could allow a touch of relief to sit in his mind. The last few confrontations with the larger man had made Taiku very aware of his knack for remembering what had brought him down in the past.
Still, it didn't mean that the Asian was a one-trick horse, and he had been waiting for an opening like this. Following the deflection to twist with a sudden, sharp counter-clockwise spin, his right foot bracing as solidly as he could into the sand, his left rose and swung to the twisted midsection of the taller fighter.
His fists would be more than easy for Adam Rydell to withstand without any immediate harm, but Taikus most dangerous attacks came from his legs, powerful blows that were capable of exponentially more damage than anything he could throw out with his hands. The problem he'd always known was actually getting off one of those strikes, hence his composed comfort in burst fighting with his hands, but he had to break the back-and-forthing of this fight. Hopefully, with a kick as flush as this would be if it struck, Taiku bearing to mind that he was pushing his maximum force with the kick, that would be exactly what occurred.
That punch, though he'd by no means left it unnoticed as he caught Adam stepping into his own deflection, would prove to be the most problematic of everything. He would gain a few extra inches of distance away from him with the lean of his body into the kick, and if it was successful perhaps a little more, but the timing wouldn't be enough to stop it as his left arm raised up to defend his face, the fist smashing into the outside of his wrist viciously enough for the Asian to wince visibly, and with good reason. Though no sound was audible, he felt something crack when the punch struck the bony joint....It wouldn't likely be broken, he still had enough control to grip his fist, but in doing so a sickly grating sensation took over and he knew something was wrong.
'Fuck....I can keep this fight up with one arm, but not for too long...I hope that kick at least did SOMETHING to him, otherwise I'm gonna have some serious problems...'
