ooc: Looking for some serious conversation, but will take anything.
ic:
"What a broing day so far," Felix remarked to no one as he walked out of the cafeteria doors with his food in hand. He didn't want to eat in the noisy cafeteria, his pounding headache from the previous night had hit him full force just before second hour and he wanted a little peace and quiet so that it could lessen.
Stepping out of the main hall and into the open air, it had become a nice temperature, not too hot and not too cold, but none the less he had a dark green turtle neck sweater on top of his usual baggy jeans. He spotted one too many persons around the grounds and sighed to himself, "I guess it was too much to ask for complete quiet?" His question went unanswered as he walked over to the nearest vacant tree, and gingerly sat himself down by it.
His headache dulled in the passing moments, as he slowly ate his rapidly cooling slice of pizza. He had a can of orange soda to go with it, but it sat unopened next to his leg. He looked up and around him, seeing small groups of people, some staying indoors now that the weather was slightly cooler than before. 'Still, with graduation approaching and more and more rumors of the Watchers being taken down by this, Revelation..' It made him wonder about what he would do after high school. He had no real aspects, though he made enough money now to live comfortably on his own.
"Still, it makes you wonder. If most of the seniors are leaving after this year, that leaves it up to the lower classmen to pull something out of their asses." Felix frowned a bit, biting into the cold crust of pizza. He looked up to the outside of the Hircine building, "Even though I was only here for a short time I guess I will miss it. Even if I never really got involved." Another sigh escaped him, with the pop of the cans tab as he took a large gulp. It tingled in his throat before he swallowed it and set it down again. 'I wonder if I can't..'

"This place is the Court of Miracles." Victor thought. "This place is the Court of Miracles and we are the Romani people within. The only difference is that unlike the Romani in Notre Dame de Paris, we don't get along with each other."
Victor was particularly irked that day. His ambitions seemed to be slipping further and further away as the days rolled by. It figured as much. He kept on training and training, but it didn't seem to matter, not because he wouldn't get strong enough to challenge the great fighters of this school-he would eventually in due time-but because he feared by the time he did, they would be gone. And what was he supposed to do then? Just walk up to them and go "Hey, wanna fight?" God, that was rude and completely lacking in etiquette and taste. He wanted an honorable way of approaching them and challenging them, not something out of the blue!
No sense thinking of it now though.
He took his black backpack off of his shoulder, unzipped it, and dug around in it as he walked. He had stopped eating lunch at school a little while ago. The food here was FAR better than it had been at Varron, but cafeteria food was cafeteria food, and bringing a bag lunch generally caused the food to get soggy or whatnot while it sat in the bag all day waiting to be eaten. Working in the culinary lab, Victor had a mild obsession with eating food that was freshly prepared, so he preferred to wait until he got home to have lunch.
He did however, have some cans of soda in his pack. Having found one, he picked it out. He slung his pack back over his shoulder, popped the top, and took a swig of the fizzy drink, enjoying the sweet flavor. It was warm, but he didn't care. He wasn't particular about whether soda was warm or cold.
He heard somebody's voice and craned his neck towards it. He came across a familiar face. Felix was sitting against a lone tree, eating pizza and drinking a soda. Victor remembered Felix from Varron. When he had been working for Kvist back there, he had talked Felix and a girl named Raven into going to see Kvist for a possible recruitment. But all that was behind him and he hoped Felix didn't bear him any grudge.
Victor began to approach him, adjusting his black trench coat. "Hello there Felix." he said. Felix would probably remember him.

Felix was in the middle of gulping down more soda when he heard himself being called. He brought down the can and placed it between both hands, looking around at the person who called for him, spotting the black trench coat and following it up to recognize who it was.
'Victor, what the hell..' His sudden urge to set up and start swinging at Victor had to be quelled. His headache, while nothing more than a dull throb, would still limit his fighting ability. Instead, he chose to keep himself rather relaxed, even though he knew he tensed up as soon as he recognized Victor. The worse part was that Victor would have realized that as well.
He managed a small smile and nodded his head up at Victor. "Hey, I haven't seen you in a damn long time." He kept his voice curt and sharp as he remembered the short time in which he had spent it trying to figure out a way to protect himself and Raven, but Victor lead them both straight to the madman, Kvist. "I suppose I should bring up our rather, interesting past, before I converse with you."
He stalled for a few minutes, looking down and staring hard at his can of soda. "I suppose what's in the past should stay there, after all." He was about to bring up a past which woud rile him up and have him start to yell, which was good for nothing. "But I've actually gotten over that all." He looked back up to Victor, "I was actually just sitting here thinking about graduating soon. I've only been here for six months and I already don't want to leave. Ha." He smiled afterwards looking back at the can.
"If you think about it really, when all of the seniors leave this school will turn back into the Varron of old." He smiled with a wicked smirk. "These student will know the hell we knew back then." His smile twisted a bit and then he shook his head, remembering the past wasn't too good for Felix, he could barely remember his old friends from Varron. "But at any rate, I suppose it would be rude for me to not ask how you've been?" He looked up and motioned towards the ground near him, offering Victor a seat if he so choosed.

He had expected Felix to be hostile-he had after all, sent him and Raven to the most feared gang leader in Varron-but Felix cracked a smile and greeted him diplomatically. Victor smiled jovially. It was nice to see people let bygones be bygones.
"I haven't seen you in awhile either Felix. It's good to see another familiar face. I have seen some others though, most of them friendly." he replied.
Felix spoke of graduation and how he didn't want to leave. Victor couldn't blame him. What was there outside of this place? Sure, school was Hell, with it's corporal punishment (although the teachers didn't seem to be using it much here at Hiricine), the gangs, the violence, and to top it off, the pillar system ran the place (although it wasn't all THAT bad), but... it did have a certain novel beauty to it...
And what was there out in the world anyway? A regular life? College? Graduate school? Wives and kids? A successful job? It was true, those things were great-awesome in fact-but the duels and training, the tournaments, all of it... how could that be applied to real life? In the end, the novel thrills stopped, life became mundane and predictable, the memories faded, and your hand to hand abilities rusted. And if you continued, the law got you. It all...
God DAMN...
Shaking his head, Victor answered back again. "I can see how you feel. I might miss this place myself. I actually asked to retake my senior year since I came here kind of late. This place is like a demonic version of the Court of Miracles in Notre Dame de Paris, only we're fighting for control over it, and we're not Romani, or Gypsies, if you use that term." Victor smirked. "But maybe that's why some people don't want to leave it. The darkness in others, calls out to the darkness in ourselves."
"As for what you say about what will happen after we leave, you may be right. If Darren Blayne leaves-God forbid that happens-we won't have a captain and the students will go berserk to gain the title." Victor sighed. "Then what? Even the pillars won't have complete control over the students. The gangs might try to take advantage of it. Don't think Kvist is the only one interested in power. People seem to think he's the only one who wants control, but in reality, any of them will eventually want it. Gilsin could, even Maverik could, even though I've heard his intentions are noble."
Breaking away from this grim proposition, Felix asked him how he had been. Victor smiled. That was a much lighter subject. In certain aspects.
"How have I been doing? Well... I've doing good and bad I guess. Mostly I've been trying to improve my fighting style like crazy." Victor said. A small glint came into his dark brown eyes. "I have a goal before I graduate. I want to become strong enough of a combatant to challenge some of the strongest fighters in the school. I won't tell you who, and I don't know how I'll get them to challenge me, but I don't have the exact intention of winning. I'll be satisfied to just give them the fight of their lives and make them fight with everything they've got to keep up with me."
Victor giggled like a child. "I know, it's like something a kid would say, but it's true. Almost all of my fights in the past have ended in draws, and a small few have ended in losses. I want to make a name for myself. How about you? What have you been doing, Felix?"

Felix listened and began to feel more at ease with Victor. 'The past stays in the past and things change in the instant.' His thoughts as he listened to Victor speak about how he would also miss the halls brought a smile to his face. Felix wouldn't be the only one with the fears of becoming old and useless, brought on by endless months of not fighting.
"Heh, you don't have to even bother telling me who you want to fight. I'm just fighting for what I think is right, yea. That sums it up for me. Win or lose." He nodded, it was a path that most fighters took. To be able to go toe to toe with some of Varrons elite, and then the Hircine students. It took a lot of guts to try that.
"As for me, I guess I've been doing good. Got back in touch with Raven, met up with Bruce and ran into a few new people around here." He started to think about each person he met, inside and outside the halls. They still numbered just under a dozen, but he wasn't including those he remembered from Varron unless he met them.
"And in all honesty, I don't think Darren is going to stay. Maverik, though his intentions may be good and all, if he steps up to power and seizes it, just like any other gang leader, there will be fights to come. And those of us who have left these halls may be called back in by the bond of friendship and trust." He wouldn't even consider Kvist a possibility for power. There were too many stacked against him and Felix seriously doubted anyone else would stick by him anymore. "And as for Kvist, I talked to him a few months back, when I got here. He said he was going out with a bang and if I remember correctly; that he was going to take out as many as he could." He shrugged for what it was worth. Kvist was always in the business of hurting people one way or another.
"But still, there are quite a few gangs that are going to be climbing the power hungry ladder. And personally, I'm still worried for the innocents inside." He looked out at the laughing populace, of which it's numbers outside hadn't dwindled one bit. "I don't know anymore, everyone I actually care about are seniors for the most part, so I guess it doesn't matter to me anymore."
While it was a glum statement, it rang true to Felix. There was hardly a need to worry about most of his old friends or the people he knew now. "I guess it's just a waiting game now. I'm going to be putting in an application here as a janitor, or something or other. It probably won't work, seeing as how I'm an unruly student and my past Varron history will forever blacken my name in this school, but it'll be worth a shot." Felix couldn't help but worry about the state of the school in a few months time. Seniors graduating was always a big deal for corporal punishment schools. It meant a new leadership, and it also meant he who had the biggest gang would assume control until things became what Varron was.

"Heh, you don't have to even bother telling me who you want to fight. I'm just fighting for what I think is right, yea. That sums it up for me. Win or lose."
Victor smirked. "A noble cause. I guess that's what everyone needs in his or her life. I don't really know what I want in my life. I'm not involved in any of the big things at the moment. Everyone is either trying to bring down MacMillan or defeat one of the gangs. Nobody is trying to be themselves anymore." He sighed. "It just... seems like nobody can have fun anymore."
He listened to Felix speak about seeing Raven again. He felt envious, but did not show it. It seemed like everyone had managed to land a relationship with somebody now. What was there left for him? Yes, he was envious. Oh well...
"It's good to hear you're seeing somebody Felix." he said. "I'm trying, but I haven't had any luck. I tried once. I met this Japanese girl on the roof who I had a small crush on. I struck up a friendly conversation with her, you know? Just a friendly one with no intimacy involved. As I talked with her, I learned she was... well, she had been raised traditional Japanese. I accidentally said something intimate to make her feel better about something. She got quiet and she walked away." Victor's expression and tone grew very melancholy. Even now, he could not forgive himself for being. So. Fucking. Stupid.
"And in all honesty, I don't think Darren is going to stay. Maverik, though his intentions may be good and all, if he steps up to power and seizes it, just like any other gang leader, there will be fights to come. And those of us who have left these halls may be called back in by the bond of friendship and trust."
"Maybe. Just maybe." Victor said with a nod. "Then again, Maverik and Kvist may still be at war even then. And of course Taiku is after Kvist too, and they still haven't got him. Kvist is not only an exceptionally dangerous combatant, but an expert in covering his tracks and escaping as well. Not to mention the police haven't caught him yet."
Another idea came. "Not to mention there is a third party with their own intentions outside of those groups. There is Ein Gilsin and his gang of Genaht Nazis. I'm not sure what those guys do exactly, but Gilsin is calculating enough to try anything if it'll work I guess. I've heard stories about Gilsin's strength in combat. Maybe he's not much at striking or stuff like that, but once he wraps his arms around you, it's over." he said, remembering the stories he had heard at Varron.
Felix continued to speak, saying he was worried about the innocents in Hiricine. Victor could understand. Once the seniors were gone, the place would be wide open, leaving the younger ones who had less experience to fend for themselves.
"I don't know what to do about that. Maybe some of us could come back and become teachers or teacher's assistants here. We could do the job right and protect the innocents, unlike some of the teachers we've had in the past." Victor chuckled and shivered at the same time as he remembered a particular teacher at Varron. "Do you remember Edward at Varron, Felix? Although I don't want to admit it, he was the only person I ever feared getting into a fight with."
In response to Felix' words of becoming a janitor at Hiricine, Victor said: "Well, I wish you luck then. Even if your record messes with your chance of getting the job, maybe there's some kind of work you could do prior to that to compensate for it. You know, some kind of community service, so to speak? I don't know what I'm going to do this coming year, given I asked to retake my senior year. Probably continue to work on my fighting style and catch up on my studies. See if I can strike up a relationship with a girl."

ooc: short post, i'm kinda peeved tonight.
Felix didn't want to interupt Victor as he talked. It was rude and as much as he wanted to, the weather seemed to hold him back. Anything unnecessary was technically a waste of body heat. "Ah, I never said we were back together. We parted ways and well, it was all my fault." Saying his last piece he returned to their orginal topic of conversation.
"Edward..?" he looked out past the horizon line, his eyes re focusing, "In all honesty I barely remember anything from Varron. It's weird, some people I recognize right away, and then there are those that are completely new to me, even though I've seen them before. But I don't recall that name." It was true. He didn't remember too many people from Varron. He up and left when he realized that no one could beat Kvist. Kvist would have haunted him for the rest of his life, and he admitted to those who were a part of that whole shamble that he was the weak one for leaving. He still had a lot to make up for.
His eyes refocused closer and he responded to Victor, "As for the gangs taking over, well, Gilsin can't do much, Revelation shot them down quite a bit ago. Gilsin is barely standing after what happened, in my opinion, of course." He was referring to the Watchers that struck out at Genaht. "And for all it matters to anyone, Kvist is losing his touch. He's increasingly lost members, its only a matter of time before he finally can't cover his tracks anymore."
Felix stretched his arms out and the chill that had been held back rushed in an a cold chill ran down his spine. "Good luck to you too. Fighting some of the toughest people here isn't a feat many can claim to do. The Fighters League is back, I've actually signed up for it. I figure that with the senior year closing, I need some reason to stay at a reasonable fighting strength." He said it casually, knowing that Victor, if he hadn't already, would put stake in the League. Everyone that was anyone joined the League. It was 'win or go home' in the League.

"Ah yes, the fighter's league. I've signed up for it too." Victor said. "I figure it'll be a good way to brush up on my technique and just have some fun. In older times, some said the best way to bond-especially for men-was to duel, and this may be the best way."
Victor was wondering when this whole thing would start. He had met Dain Gavyns only briefly and the man struck him as a joker. Still, the man also struck him as a powerful warrior. Victor was the kind of fighter who liked to study his opponent before confronting them, but he hadn't gotten any information about Dain's style. He could only imagine what he used. The only big piece of information he had heard was that he had twice fought a former student who was currently running his own business. The first one he didn't know anything about, but the second one, from what he had heard, had been epic.
"Speaking of the fighter's league, do you know anything about this Dain Gavyn's guy?" Victor asked. "I know he's a teacher here and that he has a definite sense of humor, but I only met him once to sign up for the fighter's league. He's been in some of the tournaments, and from what I heard he was the only guy to my knowledge to give the legendary Shamino Warhen a run for his money. I know Warhen's graduated and running his own business now, but for Dain to be able to even last against him, I wonder what he's like."

Felix nodded when he heard that Victor had signed up for the Fighter's League. It was, after all, the best way to stay in shape and to have connections with some of the best fighters around Hircine. Felix just hoped most of the joined. When he himself went to sign up, he hadn't seen too many people in the office of Dain, but then again, he may have shown up at a good time. 'Hate to be known for signing up and then being spied on as I train.'
"I believe I have met him once, maybe a second time. All my connections were through Junpei, and he was pretty well known. But his sense of humor I heard was one of the best, laid back and easy going I believe he was." Felix tried to remember what Kvist did to Dain, it was something, but he couldn't recall. "He fights like a damn something, ya know. Tough as a bastard as far as I hear. Though I've never fought the guy, nor sparred with him. I knew my place back in Varron, and it was near the weaker end of things." That had all changed when Felix went to re-join Varron Academy, and then found out it transfered its students here.
"I hear Taiku might enter it, plus some more of the old Varron guys. I think this first season is gonna be a whole lot of meet and greets before the actual fighting begins. I'm speculating, of course, but with the League travelling from Varron, there will be more faces you recognize than not." Felix himself was a bit worried about what he just said. He knew that more Varroners would sign up just because it was quite popular there. 'Just how many new faces are going to utilize this tool to help themselves to what they want around Hircine?'
