Jason was never a fan of using a weight bench around others, but without a private one or someone to spot him he figured he had little choice. With a little hesitation he asked a random girl shifting through her locker which way it was to the gym. With a nod he shifted his logo free track bag on his shoulder and started in that direction.
As he walked to wards the gym he gave his body an appraising look. With a bit of a sigh he mentally noted the lost tone in his arms, the right one more so. For the first time since he got his cast off he had noticed how odd it felt to be out of practice and under his comfortable weight. Though the average person wouldn't likely pick up on this to him it was an annoyance.
Approaching the door with this new inspiration to get back to normal he pushed his way through the door and surveyed the room. He didn't take note of many people in the gym and no one seemed to be using the bench. Rotating his shoulder blades as he approached he dropped his bag next to the machine and started to count the weights. "40 for the bar, 50 on each side. Too much to start with after a lapse." Feeling a little ashamed he slid 20 pounds off each side and shook his head.
With a little sigh he sat on the bench but before easing himself under the bar he looked around for the nearest person. Not much caring who it was he let out a general greeting. "Excuse me, could you do me a favor and just make sure I don't choke myself with this thing?" If the person answered or not he didn't care, laying on his back he'd ease himself into position. Taking his time to place his hands at the right position he'd ease it off the holds. Slowly he'd lower the bar and make the first lift. It was uncomfortable but familiar all at the same time. After only five repetitions he'd ease it onto he hold and sit up to stretch out his arms. "Well, I'm not dead, or in too much pain. That's a good sign."

Kyousuke rolled his shoulders, loosening the muscles in his back, as he sat down on a bench. There was a weight machine on either side of him, but he was just doing twenty five pound barbells, doing reps as fast as he could in repetitions of two. With Odin he was getting endurance and lower body training, as well as glove work. Without gloves. At least recently. This was for his arm speed and strength. Building his muscles to move quickly even with weight on them, making them move in a way quickly they normally wouldn't.
The school gym wasn't the best place to train, but he found it wasn't as popular as a gym he'd pay for, which gave him more freedom. But it didn't save him from people who wanted things from him, it seemed. As the, significantly, larger male approached him Kyousuke looked up and nodded before sending a quick quip. "I won't hold the bar, but I won't let you die either." He stood up after dropping the bar bells into their cradle, his already wrapped fists clenching as he walked to the rhythm bag at the edge of the weights.
While he started his rhythm slowly he peered over at the larger student. His mind shifted back to the size of his opponent, Kyukaku, and began to wonder something. But he refrained from speaking while he was going to warm up his rhythm. Once it felt naturally he'd talk, while the other had talked a few moments ago. "Why would it hurt? Someone dislocate your shoulder recently, in a fight?"

Jason stood and tossed a couple of slow, unnatural looking punches. After a moment he slowed down a bit further and just did a very basic movement of a punch. He'd mumble to himself a couple of second before he'd hear the question, "back to basics I guess, always back to basics." As he heard the guy ask the question he was a little surprised, not figuring the guy had paid much attention after his initial response. "I haven't lifted weights in several months, haven't even hit a bag in several months. Out of practice."
He'd continue to throw the slow but technically correct basic fists. He wanted to get familiar with the motion and didn't really care at the moment about the power or speed. After spending a couple minutes and feeling a bit of comfort ease into the movement he decided to try the bar again. Loosen the 5 pound holds, put on twenty pounds to each side. Tighten the holds and check to make sure they are secure. With one more stretch of the arms he eased his way back onto the bench and under the weights. Hands back in position he sighed.
"Why would you jump to the idea that I'd been fighting?" Easing the bar off and lowering it he felt instability in his right arm. The bar even shook a little until it rested a little of the weight on his chest. With his mind mostly on the weight he kept an open ear for the other. An exhale and lift, on the fourth repetition he felt a guilt of wanting to stop but pushed himself through the fifth lift before getting the bar back on the hold. He hated how much his arms ached now, he felt as if his body was insulting him for his lack of diligence at keeping himself in shape.

Kyousuke was, impressively, looking away from his rhythm to see the other thrown the unnatural looking punches. He needed a bit of work on those. But from what he said, it had been some time since the last time he had so much as lifted weights. Not much of a surprise there. He would then continued the workout, but there was one last thing that he didn't take into account on his question. "If that was the case then you wouldn't be thinking of pain. You would be thinking of strain, muscle loss, and where to set your limits." He retorted quickly, and brought his hand up to the back of his neck while he worked one arm into the rhythm.
"Also giving you the benefit of the doubt. I find body builders flawed mentally." He said with a small grin, pulling up his opposing hand to do the same single rhythm. "Besides, with your size, you'd make a poor body builder." He kept the grin as he said this, mostly referring to the fact that, despite his body mass, he was hardly Mr. Universe. The rhthm for the day done, he turned and flicked his wrists at his sides, heading to the sand bag to get some heavy punches in. They were always more satisfying to begin with.

Jason couldn't help but have the slightest grin as he turned to respond. "A person who thinks, you are a rarity." He rotated his right shoulder then stretched down and back up. "It is the case, well part of the case." He ran a finger over the weights, "100, a low lift. 140 a test in the waters, and a reminder of the pain of pushing your limitations." He nodded and figured it didn't matter if he told the guy the rest of the story. "I'm recovering from a broken arm, pain which could signify it hasn't fully healed or worse it might break again. That is a large concern.
"I'm no fan of body builders either, it is such a waste to put in so much effort just for looks. Muscle without application is just muscle." Taking a look at himself, he couldn't help but nod in agreement. "I may be no body builder, but there are a lot of other things I could be. Now isn't there?" With a rotation of his shoulders he headed to one of the sand bags himself. His punches were still slow but the force they exerted easily rattled the bag and chain.

Kyousuke grinned a bit, nodding to the other. "I suppose so. But there are others who like to pretend they think." He was standing in front of the bag now, not taking any particular stance was he did so. "So thats why? I wasn't far off, but broken bones are less likely around here for whatever reason." Setting his weight a bit wider he turned his upper body only, sending a firm left hook into the bag.
"I'd be inclined to agree with you." He spoke after both the comment of mutual distaste for body builders, as well as the fact there were other things he could do with the muscles he had. "Your blows are slow. Is that a side affect of your arm, or do you not punch often enough?" He wasn't meaning to be condesending, but intstead intuitive. Although it could easily be taken the other way. Kyousuke pulled his balance tighter, his shoulders raising a bit as he sent a series of one-two-two's and one-three-two's at the bag.
[One=Jab Two=Straight Three=Hook in this case.]

Jason continued the slow punches, "Far less people actually do think than don't it's refreshing to see someone who does." He pondered the thing about dislocation being more common that breaking. "That sounds odd, but it wasn't here that it was broken. A memento from a past learning center." His next hit was a good bit harder and he just watched the bag rattle afterward.
"A mixture of both, I am not a very fast striker even at my prime. Yet I also need to get my technique back to normal in order to be able to hit a bit faster. I guess you can say my more pronounced ability is in the area of fighting doesn't stem from punching." He turned away from the bag and started back to wards the bench. This time he just sat down before reaching into his bag and pulling out a bottle. Taking a deep gulp he cracked his knuckles and continue to rotate his shoulders, then his head.

Kyousuke smirked a tad to the others compliment, and nodded to him carefully between punches. In between the combinations he watched the others punches. "Learning centers are more vicious than I had realized."
He muttered a bit, stepping back from the bag, and placed his left hand to the bag. Leaving his body exactly arms lengths away, his fingers flicking out to push the bag a quarter of an inch. He was growing bored with the constant training. After the tournament he had no practical application.
"In other words, your a grappler. Or a wrestler, depending on your orientation." He looked over at the taller man, his brow raised slightly. "You are a grappling based fighter, aren't you?"

Jason ran his left hand down his face and stretched his body up and back. With his right still holding the bottle of water he took an other gulp before answering. "I guess you can say I know my way around a few painful non high impact motions that would under the proper application cause the opponent to give up all hope of making any great and harmful gesture in return. Or as you said, a bit of a wrestler, a floor fighter so to speak. Though I don't try to make myself a one shot pony, I have some moderate training in a wide variety of situational movements."
Before he knew it he had drained the water bottle and dropped the empty bottle back into the case before removing a second bottle. The water was room temperature and with a twist of the cap he poured a bit of it one his head and chest, also getting some on the floor and bench. "You've had a good run making guesses about me, that is almost annoying. I've not even taking the time to make one observation about you, well not say it anyway. Why exactly do you have an interest in my method of fighting? Curiosity or should I be worried of some devious plot from the witty destroyer of punching bags?" With a grin he capped the bottle and laid it next to the bench.

Kyousuke was surprised to hear such a well worded explanation from the taller student. He knew he wasn't a fool, but he also hadn't decided that he was intelligent yet either. However this proved that the other had quite a strong intellect. At least in speech. "Well then you are wise. But are you rusty?"
Kyousuke didn't have a water in the room, but he did have a towel he had left on the weight bench with the dumbbells. While the other drank he went about dabbing the sweat off his shoulders and neck, then scrubbed his hair before he dropped the towel again. "Annoying? I suppose it could be. Perhaps that is my goal." He then looked across the room. He'd need water soon, but not quite yet.
"Since you don't seem unintelligent enough to toy with I'll be straight forward." He then turned his head and gaze back to the grinning student. "I have a weakness where you have a strength. I'd like to exploit you for a while. It would be mutually beneficial, if your wanting to shuck off some rust."

Jason couldn't help a slight laugh from escaping at the first comment. "Wise, wisdom are meaningless words. I would never claim myself to be either, nor do I think that they matter as much as a clear ability to think. As the late Henry Ford is quoted as having said 'Thinking is the most difficult thing to do, that is why so few do.' Or something like that." In his mind he contemplated if rusty was a strong enough word. Not only did he need to establish his familiarity with everything he also had to rebuild muscle as well as compensate for his concern for his right arm. "Rusty, yeah a little bit I guess."
Seeing the other look around the room and having been drinking the second bottle he let himself grab an other bottle. The bottle was one of an unknown number that remained in the bag and tossed it lightly in his direction. "If annoyance is your goal it is a well founded attempt, but not on a strong enough foundation. If you knew my personality and could figure out my reaction it may have worked further. Yet to me the annoyance is far drowned down by my own curiosity that you are creating within me by your level of interest."
Jason would ignore the comment about intelligence as his interest seemed to lay closer to the interest of this individual. "An interesting proposal, but it is a vague one at that. I don't mean the fact you are looking for help in submission or take down situations. The vagueness is in what would be the conditions that would surround such a plan. The location, the time, the frequency, the presence of others, and the intent to allow that bettering of yourself to be the goal and no further." This showed a bit more of Jason's cautious side, yet even with the level of protectiveness he was showing he was very happy with the suggestion.

Kyousuke was becoming more and more pleased with the taller students behavior and reactions. It was impressive. And he matched much of the things he would normally look for in most situations. For a friend or ally. But, far more calm than he himself was. Although that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. "It's a sound quote. But I know only that the man you speak of was an American General. My American history is a bit rough. But that is why I am in school after all.."
Kyousuke moved himself up slowly, and then rotated his shoulders before he reached up and caught the bottle of water. "Mm, you assume. The wrong direction, I'm afraid." He then moved to the side a bit, his neck rotation along with his shoulders. "I will give no explanation, you are welcome to your assumptions." Kyousuke, standing in front of the heavy bag once again. He was ready to walk away to the ring and see if he could make his statement all the more accurate, as the other was intelligent enough to venture into the specifics of what he was hoping for from him. All the while drinking the bottle of water without reservation. It was just water, it's not like he had been expecting poison.
While he walked over to the ring he spoke, his head titled to the side to catch a full view. "The location is where we stand. Time, now. Frequency, that would depend on how helpful you are." He then smiled faintly, grasping the ropes and pulled backward a bit. "I won't bring anyone but myself. At least who would be training, or sparing, with you. Spectators may be possible, however unlikely." He would then slide through the ropes, his head titling back afterward, and resting himself back against them. "Does the proposal sound satisfactory for the moment?"

Jason had the light grin on his face again. "Aw, you're right. Assumption the mother of all fuck ups. I should have caught myself before such a blatant mistake. There is a reason why assumption starts with the word ass isn't there?" Jason would stand and turn a little to follow with his eyes as the person went to wards the ring.
"I need not be welcome to assume, it is nature and at times a horrible habit. Though at others it can be a great advantage, if it is correct. The usual issue isn't to assume but to assume with too little information or to allow said assumption leave the brain and exit through the mouth. I guess I should remember I have one mouth and two ears and should try to use them in that proportion. Who am I kidding, talking is too interesting."
"I hope you mean nearer to where you stand, the work bench might get in the way." With a smile he started to wards the ring. As he walked he'd take his shirt off and use it to absorb any sweat that had formed on his head or upper body. "Now, indeed." This would be his accepting words as he reached the ring ropes. He'd drop the shirt outside the ring then push the ropes down before moving over the top. "A fight, or a wrestling match. Which would you say is the proper term for our little event? I'll take either."

While Jason spoke, Kyousuke was quietly sucking down the bottle of water he had taken. More than half of it was gone while the other made his speeches. It's not that the other was unintelligent or boring. But he was talking too much. "Yes, talking is interesting. You must find it endlessly entertaining." Kyousuke sighed lightly and grasped his left wrist with his right hand, squeezing and turning his palm around the wrist to warm it up.
After the other was in the ring Kyousuke would go and do the next thing he needed to warm up, rotating his joints carefully in circular motions. From his neck down. "I would say a agressive spar would be more accurate. I don't intend to do any permanent harm, and will restrict my more damaging attacks. But on your end, I'd like you to do all you can to hurt me, or corner me. I need to fight against defensive and agressive grappler's."
With his joints lose he would pull off his green pullover, and hang it on the corner post of the ring. Leaving him with a white collared shirt and loose fading blue jeans. He was barefoot, but taped, as he wouldn't step into the school ring with anything but boxing shoes or barefoot. "We can start off either way. But if it's all the same to you, I want to start aggressively. A reenactment, if you like."

"I think that will fit better for me as well. I am not the most aggressive when it comes to such things. In fact most of my aggressive fighting is pushing on someone's defense to make them go offensive. Something I might have to work on." With that he took just on big stride to get himself from the side of the ring to near center. He'd not go into stance but instead wait for the other to come to wards the center as well. When the other approached he'd stretch out his right hand in hopes of a friendly hand shake before they began. "Always good to start a friendly match on the foundation of a pleasant hand shake."
If all of this took place Jason would then take a small quarter step back. Once he sized up the distance he'd spread his legs about shoulder length apart with a slight bend in the knee and his left leg leading. Before he'd raise his hands he'd take a moment to size the other up. Mentally he noted what he saw about the others physical appearance, '5'7" - 5'10", maybe 170 pounds after thanksgiving dinner but surely not more than that.' Jason would raise his hands now, as with his left leg his left hand would lead. Both arms would be about shoulder height though his right hand would be nearer to the center of his chest. This stance showed that his left hand would do the more frequent attacks as his right seemed a bit more protective.
"It was my right arm that broke, so don't be scared to hurt me but I'd appreciate a bit of care on that area. When you're ready, let the good times roll." With a bit of a smile he'd nod to his opponent. The moment that Kyo would start moving Jason would start to move as well. His feet would move him in a slowly growing circular motion to Jason's own right. This would hopefully keep the opponent needing to adjust and move in, if the opponent didn't seem to move closer he'd stay at what he estimated to be just out of his own striking distance. These movements would be very smooth as his feet would hardly if at all leave the ground so that at any time he'd be able to adjust his weight for full balance.

Kyousuke nodded, his right hand coming up and crossing over his left shoulder, and pulling on the shirt. He normally didn't mind fighting in it, or wearing it, but after he pulled off the sweatshirt it felt misplaced on his shoulders. After shifting it back the way he needed too he put his attention on his opponent, or sparing partner as may be a bit more accurate. He had been ready to just fall into a comfortable stance and strike, emulating the fight he had with Kyukaku and discover if his sparing partner had similar skill. But instead he was taken back a moment with the realization that he didn't have the same fighting spirit, or shouldn't, as Jason offered a handshake.
Kyousuke offered an awkward smile as his own mindset surprised him slightly. He held out his right hand as well, and clasped their hands together in a firm handshake. After the handshake Kyousuke would take half a step back as well, and slowly making his mind replay what little he could remember of his own movements. His eyes had closed as he remembered all of this. But his mind was truly focused on his own movements, he had no intention of ignoring the others words. "I don't attack joints. Which is more than likely half my weakness. Your arm will be safe against me unless your unlucky enough to fall on it and break it again.
In rare form Kyousuke set his stance as well. His left foot forward and his right foot back, his body leaning a bit forward. With both of them in stance it would work the best, just as he had thought against Kyukaku. Just after Jason began to move to the left Kyousuke would move. His left foot shuffled forward, closing the gap enough that he could reach with a punch. His left arm swiped out and then up, his opponent would more than likely assume he was about to make a shot to the body. His left foot however would not be used in the same fashion, he wanted to restrict movements rather than trip up his opponent.
A distraction to get his guard to drop, as the blow would end short, and then Kyousuke's right hip would turn, his right palm would circle out from his own body and up the moment after his left arm stopped. While his palm was circling up his right foot would turn along with his hip, hook his left foot firmly behind the opponents front foot, and move to slam his palm into Jason's face. As he made it seem like a dodge should be to the right even if he couldn't try the same palm attack to the face and slam him to the ground, it would be a strong enough hit with the heel of his palm somewhere around Jason's jaw.

Jason nodded a little bit at the others words. His arm still weighed a little on his mind, but with a bit of a breath he'd focus on the moment at hand. He'd rotate his shoulders quickly to loosen as the other closed his eyes. Then he'd set his concentration fully into the ring.
As Kyo moved he'd shift his body so that his feet could use his weight to balance. With the other making a circular strike with his left hand he'd make a straight forward block attempt. His right arm would shift in the direction of the incoming strike. At the same moment his left arm would move right as well to get closer in to be defensive. The opponent was leading with his left which brought Jason to believe he was a right handed person. This often made it so that the left was the more used but less powerful striker. Though the change in movements would be a slight surprise his inclination of a protective stance would help the situation.
As the opponent sent his right arm forward Jason's own left would move forward and right though still arced at the elbow. While the opponents arm came forward he'd push his left arm out to push the arm away. Had the punch been aimed lower the strike would of likely still hit his chest. Since the target was the smaller one of the head it'd most likely miss completely. Jason would use his arm against the others to attempt to push his body far enough to Jason's left that Kyo might start to twist right. His own right arm would reset to wards the center of his chest.
Should all of this go as planned Jason would turn his left arm sideways and make a quick step forward. The intent of the movement being his forearm connecting with Kyo's upper chest and the bottom of his neck to tumble him backward. Though Jason didn't know about Kyo's leg behind his it would work out advantageously for him. Jason would finish by loosening his left foot from being near Kyo's and step back. Instead of what may be a large movement of following him down he'd wait for a better situation in which he would be able to take him down and go to the floor at the same time.

Kyousuke was watching his opponents arms carefully, making sure he knew where they were. He was however paying far more attention to his right than his left. Specifically because that was his line of attack. His opponent was different, certainly, as he made a linear movement forward to jam his weight against his arm. This would effectively stop all of his movement, but his left was still active. True to his fighting style he would not attempt to slam his weight through, and certainly not against a larger opponent.
When the arms connected he would stop his forward momentum, and let his right side to be pushed back, aiding in the movement of his shoulders pulling his left fist toward the opponents right side. The problem for Kyousuke would be, despite the aid in momentum from his opponent initially, it would continue as well. The forearm would strike into his right shoulder, still aiding with his momentum, but thanks to the angle provided it would hurt his already sore right shoulder. As the throbbing set in he would send a firm jab into the larger opponents soft target, just bellow the ribs, and kick off with his back foot after the initial impact.

Jason wasn't expecting the opponent to push so hard into the attack. With this mistake on his part he would feel the hand strike into the soft area below his ribs. It was a sharp though bearable pain. With the pain he'd shift his attention as he would rotate and lift his left arm a bit. With them both moving toward each other he'd bring his left arm behind Kyo's neck. Pulling Kyo's head toward his chest he'd push his whole weight up and forward. This movement would be an attempt to use his big size in contrast to Kyo's in order to tumble them both to the floor. His arm behind the others head was more so to cushion Kyo from hitting his head roughly on the mat.
As they fell he'd allow his right leg to catch on the mat and stop a foot above Kyo. With a full rotation of his body he'd twist to have his right side lay on his opponent's left shoulder. With the twist his left hand would attempt to withdraw from behind Kyo's head. With the right side hopefully neutralized he'd place his right elbow under Kyo's neck with his forearm at the shoulder. While attempting to keep this pressure on him he'd try to withdraw his left hand. With a mild punch he'd aim for Kyo's stomach.

Kyousuke was satisfied as he felt his hand strike into the desired area, bellow his opponents ribs. The blow wasn't heavy enough though. As his flaw dictated, he didn't produce enough torque in time to make the blow heavy instead of sharp. He could feel it instinctively, as a fighter he was in tune with himself and could feel through his wrist that he didn't generate enough power. When he went to push into Jason he noticed that Jason was continuing his forward momentum as well. And unfortunately for Kyousuke, he was easily a fifty pounds lighter than his opponent.
Without the strength to keep himself upright over the overwhelming weight he ended up on his back, smacking the back of his shoulders, but for some reason his head was spared the impact. His eyes opened after the initial groan escaped, releasing the last of his breath, and instantly began to move. The last time he had been to slow to react and took a knee to the jaw, he wouldn't be recreating that mistake.
The first bruise from it was still throbbing. His right arm would move quickly, slapping his hand down, just above the others wrist, and instantly begin to twist, and torque his body to aid in this.He would hold this for a moment, finish gather tension in his arm, and quickly jerk his elbow back up into the others neck or jaw. This movement would only be complete when he rolled all the way to his right, and then he would simply grab the ropes and pull himself off the mat before the opponent could recover from the heavy blow.
