Its the afternoon, the sky is blue and the air is clean. A calm breeze brushes the school as a young student walked up towards the roof. He looked down at the students running for physical education and then looked at the sky. The breeze picked up again, his long brown swayed in the wind. He took off his jacket and lied it on the ground then placing a large black case next to him. -sigh- "Nothing left but chemistry and geometry, I think i'll take a nice long nap today..." The student is Jason McMorgan, sophmore at Hircine high school. "Atleast jazz band was good today, need to practice more, but I haven't had any inspiration." Jason looked up at the sky. Ever since leaving his original home in Dublin, his musical inspiration has never been the same. He plays and plays, but never is the same. The breeze picks up again, a green leaf floats in the air. Jason stares at the leaf in the azure sky. He then opens up the black case next to him, taking out an old Takamine acoustic guitar. He strums the strings to get the right tuning, then looking at the horizon, he plays and sings with a young irish accent. A Jewel of the world, A gem on the sea,

"shit" corey thought, heading for the main building. hed missed his biology class. again. this year was already kicking his ass. it was funny to him, because in truth, he really didnt care. 'not as if theyll miss me. all i do is sleep anyways' he thought humourously. he chuckled a bit to himself. why was he worried about his attendence? it had never bothered him before. 'screw it' he thought. and he made his way up the staircase towards his usual spot in the rec hall.
walking up the stairs, corey passed by a small open window, and heard the strangest sound. music. but, there were no music classes running right now. the last one had just got over.
'with your beautiful pastures and sweet little towns...'
the voice trailed off, but the music stayed. shaking his head, he hoped the watchers didnt hear that. some of them didnt have ears for music, and they let people know in a very violent fashion. corey waited, and, not hearing anything coming from above or below him, decided hed check out who this young musician was, and what he was doing today.
Corey wasnt the type to intereact with people, and he tended to give most the cold shoulder. he was a loner by nature, and he let everyone know it. but he did have an ear for music, and this young intrumentalist might just give him some music to listen to while skipping class. maybe hed get lucky and he could sneak onto the roof, listen to his music, and get by without ever being seen. if not,well, hed cross that bridge when he came to it.
Opening the roof door, corey slowly snuck out onto the roof. shutting the door with a hardly audible click, corey sat down against the wall, opposite the strange boy who was staring up at the sky and playing music on guitar. ah, very relaxing indeed.

Jason stopped playing after hearing the noise of the opening door. He turned his head slightly and smiled his signature smile, the one that gave him his nickname. He turned back around, acting as if he didn't notice the audience member behind him. He seemed to be speaking to himself, in his irish accent. "Time for one from my homeland." he said, playing his guitar again. If I ever leave this world alive

At the start of the new song, Corey smiled. he had to admit. the kid had guts, or else he was oblivious the the 3 watchers down below who were scrambling into the building.
'well there goes the peace' he thought. he stood up,turned, then jumped off the side of the building and landed solidly on the fire-escape below. corey turned, opened the door and looked inside just in time to see the watchers rush past after the interuption of theyre silence below.
walking down the stairway, corey stopped. was he really gunna leave this kid by himself? surely the watchers have already arrived at the roof, if they werent beating him sensless by now.
Getting the nickname "scarecrow" wasnt easy. at first, it was a mockery of how thin he was. thin and muscular. you could definatly tell he was wiry, but he had alot of muscle defined in his arms, chest abs and legs. and he used them to an advantage. still, getting into a fight with three watchers wasnt most on his to-do list. thinking quickly he made his decision.
"shit" he said. whyd he always get himself into these kinds of situations? it wasnt that he particularly liked the music playing guitar man, but he wasnt about to let somone get beat up over playing music. if it was just one watcher, hed turn around and walk away, but there were 3, and those seemed mighty unfair odds. Sighing, corey turned around and ran back up the stairs, bursting out into the sunlight of the rooftop.

Jason stopped playing as he heard the rooftop door slam open. Laying down his guitar and stood to face them men. They cracked their knuckles and approached Jason.
"Well, what do we have here, a couple of music haters?" Jason said sarcasticly. His smile was immediatly broken by a punch to the face by one of the watchers.
"Well, somebody wants to play rough, eh?"
Jason stood in a boxer's stance, then kicked the watcher in the stomach. The watcher bent over in pain, leaving his back open for Jason to deliver a drop kick to the exposed weak point. One watcher down, two more to go. The next one charged at Jason with a barrage of punches. The second snuck up behind Jason and punched him in the side. It connects, and Jason jumps back. He picks up his guitar case and uses it as a shield. Just then, the audience member from before climbed back up onto the roof. Jason turned and stared at him with his signature smile.
"Hey mate, could you give me a wee hand here?"

Corey burst out onto the roof, only to almost trip on the body of a watcher who was attempting to stand up. "well, this kid aint half bad' Corey thought, before delivering a quick kick to the side of the watchers head, rendering him unconcious. he looked over to see the guitar player say somthing, but in his adreneline rush he hadnt heard a work. all he knew was that this kid was about to get his ass kicked, for the other two watchers were pulling out theyre night sticks.
corey sighed. why did it always happen whenever he skipped? he need to just learn to go to class. he could sleep there, and he wouldnt get into any trouble. shaking his head at his own stuipidity, corey athletically jumped over and delivered a sissors kick to the ribs of one watcher, sending him crashing into the other one.
he looked over at the kid and said "its time to go, we cant stay here, ill wager 20 of these guys are plowing up the stairs as we speak. we need to get out of-" his voice was cut off by a punch to the side of his head. half rolling away so has to lower the amount of damage he would take, corey went to a knee and spun, kicking the feet out from underneath the watcher who had attacked him in old japanese style. then turned to go. " im not sure about you, but im leaving." hed helped where he could, but now it was time to go, otherwise, his whole body would be in pain, not just his face.

"Alright mate." said Jason. Immediatly after that, he dodged a blow from one watcher. Countering, he swung his guitar case and hit the watcher in the side of the head. As he lay bleeding on the concrete, Jason grabbed his bag and ran to the fire escape. The other watcher attempted to catch him, but he was not fast enough. Jason slid down the ladder with ease and caught up to the audience member.
"So, got a place where we can hide out?"
