Smokings agianst the rules?

It was cool outside, winter in California it was a joke to Kazuma who had grown up on the east coast all his life. It was cool yes but nothing like the 20 degree weather he was accustomed to growing up all his life. Dressed in nothing but his jeans and a leather bomber he lay there on the roof waiting for the rest of the school day to end, his classes were over for the day the only thing he was waiting for was Teneile’s day to end. She was still a junior so her day was full and her classes did not let out till the very last period so he had about an hour or so to himself.

He had thought about going home and then driving back to pick her up but he did not see the point in doing something like that so instead he just chilled out with a lit cigarette dangling from his lips as he looked up to the sky. He knew he had promised Teneile he would quit by now, she hated the fact that he smoked and to the best of her knowledge he had already quit but there were still days that he indulged in his little bad habit especially now with his mind in a bit of turmoil.

Life was good and bad at the same time. On the bad he had every thing that had happened in New York during his trip there while he participated in a body building show, sure he had walked away with endorsements and a few job offers but he had also had to deal with his past. There was the old street gang, his one time best friend which he had wound up killing and of course the visit to his parents which he had not seen since they had abandoned him in Varron. They were all things that had got him thinking and while Teneile thought he was fine the truth was he had not truly been able to deal with it all just yet.

And then on the better side of his life was his present life. He had walked away from the competition with a decent sum of money, fresh endorsements from supplement companies and of course the best new of all. He and his wife were going to have a child, to many people there age it was frightening but to them it had been the best news ever thought possible. That plus the fact with every passing week he was creeping closer and closer to his own graduation he did have things in his life to celebrate.

He looked up thinking of the good things especially getting out of this god forsaken school. He hated it here and had ever since he got here during the transfer. To be out of here, away from the gangs, away from the Watchers away from it all but the life he had carved out for himself.

He stretch out and yawned the cigarette in his mouth snug in the corner of his lips “hmmm, I wonder what she’s doing right now” he thought to himself as he thought about Teneile in class. Until he heard foot steps coming up from behind him. Kazuma thought it was just another student coming up for a smoke, after all that what most people came up her to do. But when the foot steps stopped Kazuma’s eyes tilted upward to see two watchers standing there looking down at him.

“Look what we got here…another piece of scum breaking the rules” one of the said as he turned to his counter part. Kazuma grinned He knew the tale of the typical Watcher, middle aged military or police training, a baton as a side arm and the permission to beat the living hell out of you. Kazuma was not afraid though, laying down and covered he looked less intimidating then he really was. He stood at 6’4 and weighted over 300 lbs, he was in a weight class all his own and years of weight lifting made his a mass of hard and dense muscle.

Kazuma sat up and spit his smoke out of his mouth “Oh look…he’s littering to” They said and Kazuma chuckled.

“Really…what do you to plan to do about it” Kazuma said as he stood up and turned around looking at them. He could see them reaching for there little batons and he smiled as he stretched his arms out wide as though he was stretching out “You really don’t want to bother with me” he said as he stretched out and all they could do was chuckle at the over size student.

He let his arms down an undid his jacket letting it fall to the ground revealing him and all his massive glory. He flexed his muscle briefly and the watchers looked at him stunned surprised a student could be so muscular and massive. Kazuma grinned “Well weren’t you going to do something” he said to them wondering if they would be the only ones up here.

(As I watched the scene unfold on the rooftop, I couldn't help but chuckle. So these were the watchers. The men that every student should fear. They weren't so tough, just a bunch of cowards with weapons and too much authority.

Lighting a cigarette as I began my way towards the little group I came up from behind the watchers. As I neared them I stopped and blew a big exhale of smoke at the back of one of the watchers heads.)

"I believe these cowards were going to try to kick your ass....but now that they see they have no chance, I wouldn't be so sure"

(As i finished my sentence the watcher whom I blew my smoke at turned and snarled at me, It was obvious I had hit a nerve by calling them cowards, what they truly were.)

"Beat it punk, and i'll let this little slip up of yours slide, if not then i'll enjoy watching your bones shatter"

(As he said that my smile grew upon my face. Placing my cigarette in between my thumb and my finger of my right hand I took one last drag)

"really? sounds like fun"

(I would say before flicking my lit cigarette at his eye. As he brought his hands up to block the ember from burning him, i took a step forward and threw a hard right knee to his exposed abdomen. As he lurched forward from the surprise attack, I grabbed the back of his head with both my hands securing a Muay thai hold and began launching knee after knee for his face, I didn't know hot much punishment these guys could take, but I was willing to find out)

Kazuma’s body was practically trembling with anticipation as his fist balled up and his eyes looked at the watchers like a pair of icy blue daggers. He was waiting for them to make a move, he knew the fight would be over quickly but he also knew if they managed to wack him over the head with a baton there was a good chance they would end up the victors. But it seemed his little thoughts counted for very little as another person made there way to the roof.

He was a cocky one something Kazuma had a habit of applauding as long as it wasn’t directed at him. He stood there for a moment as he watched the newcomer go to work on one of the watchers, the attack he used was a dead give away to his style something he had seen his friend use before. He was so entertained he did not even notice the watcher coming from his left side until he was to close for comfort. The watcher swung out with his baton and Kazuma nearly dodged the attack aimed for his face by leaning back at the last second.

The watcher tried to get Kazuma on the back swing aiming for the right side of his face this time but was thwarted as Kazuma’s right hand came up and grabbed grabbed the watchers hand by the wrist stopping it dead in the middle of his swing. Before the watcher could do anything Kazuma’s left fist was already in a circular swing slamming into the watcher right cheek and knocking him from his feet. Kazuma was stronger then most if not all the actual students in the school, he was physically built for power and he knew how to use it but even so he was not recognized as a powerful fighter in the school for the sake he shyied away from fights at school.

The watcher hit the ground stunned and Kazuma decided his fun was not over yet as he walked over to the fallen man an bent down grabbing his radio so he could not call for help and simply flung it over the roof as he stood up straight “Hmmm now lets see how Watchers handle themselves when its one on one” he said with a grin as he backed up .

(As I continued my barrage of knees I noticed that only one to two of the knees actually made any contact with his face. The others were being blocked by his forearms, which were obviously taking a hell of a beating. Suddenly in between one of my knees I felt the wind rush from my lungs as the watchers baton was thrust into my stomach.

Letting go of the back of the watchers head with my right hand I pivoted my right leg back, then in one fluid motion pivoted it back forward again bringing the full momentum of my body into the forearm/elbow attack that would connect with the left side of his face just under the eye.

As the attack made the watcher stumble back i smiled as i struggled to regain my breath)

"so your not all talk? good, cause it would be no fun if the prey didn't fight back"

(I said with a sadistic smile as I stood at full height and waited for the watcher to come at me)

Kazuma watched for a moment as the newcomer had his way with the watcher. It made him smile the realization that these so called watchers were just men as he had thought they were and not the glorified police force that everyone seemed to making them out to be. It was true with their numbers and their batons and skill they could be a problem but they were just a small police force after all. This little realization made him chuckle, sure he would be out of this school soon but the thought of leaving it with a bang was now crossing through his mind as he kept his eyes on the newcomer and the watcher that was getting up infront of him. Maybe one last riot would put this school back in order the thought of hundreds of students banding together to over throw everything from the watchers to the pillars and faculty in one giant free for all would be entertaining to say the least.

His Watcher finally got back to his feet standing proud and tall. “Is that all you got you little punk” the older gentleman said as he got into a kick boxing stance holding his baton in his right hand. It made Kazuma grin widely, he had fought kick boxers before infact his favorite sparing partner had been quite the prodigy in the art of Muay Thai. And while Sparring matches were anyone game this was different, he did not care if he broke this man or not there didn’t have to be any style in the fight it was just the outcome he had to secure.

Kazuma crept closer his muscle bulging with intense strength and power, a twisted fire in his eyes revealing his past bloodlust which lay dormant within the giant teen most of the time. As soon as Kazuma got within striking distance The watcher immediately get for a wide circular swing of his baton coming at Kazuma’s left, but in bull like fashion using those large powerful legs of his Kazuma thrust forward getting with the arch of the Watchers wide slow swing.

Using his left arm he stoped the Watchers swing right one as they collided pushing it back away from him, The Watcher then threw a hard high left knee right into Kazuma’s unprotected side. The older man smiled knowing he caused pain to Kazuma but while the large teens face showed that such a blow had hurt him it also reflected how angered being hit got him.

As The Watchers right foot came down kazuma could already see the man pivoting on his left foot, he was going to try to get another blow in. Enraged Kazuma’s Giants hands reached out and Grabbed the Watcher by his shoulders stopping the built the smaller man dead in his tracks. His read tilted back and then slammed forward in a massive head butt crashing into the watchers head as Kazuma let out a deep almost animalistic growl. The blow left the Watcher stunned and this was when Kazuma let go of his shoulders.

He first threw a quick right elbow to the left cheek of the watcher turning his body to the left so he could ball up and bring back his left fist. With an surge of energy his upper body turned his wide stance giving him perfect balance for power, his left came from below shooting right into the stunned man solar plexus in a devastating uppercut causing the Watcher to bend over in pain as his grip around his baton finally gave way letting it drop to the floor. Being hit by Kazuma no matter weither it was a weak point or not was like being hit by a grizzly bear, his powers were always devastating and stunning making quick retaliation and counter attacks harder then most would think

(As I waited for the watcher to make his move I turned and watched the giant of a student beat on the other watcher. As his devestating uppercut hit the watcher I found myself smiling at the pain the older man was in. Turning my head to watch was the only mistake I had made so far, one I would pay for.

The watcher in front of me seeing his chance shot forward off his back leg, As he swung the baton with his right arm aimed for my lower left ribs, I saw the blur of movement out of m periphial vision. Exhaling hard to tighten my abs and somewhat soften the blow, I felt the rest of the wind get driven from my body as the baton made contact.

Ignoring the pain I gritted my teeth and dropped my left arm down hard over the baton. This caused the mans arm and weapon to be useless as it was now stuck to my side. As the watcher cocked his left hand in a punch, I took a step forward with my right leg I brought my fist into my chest and shot the point of my right elbow out at the watchers adams apple.

As my elbow made contact I could hear the seniors gasp for air before he dropped to his knees holding his throat. Luckily for him the blow didn't kill him, something that could easily be done with a blow to the adams apple.

As the watcher tried to regain his breath I grabbed the back of his head and sent a hard right knee into his face breaking his nose. Hearing the sickening crunch I began to laugh as his blood sprayed from his nose onto my pants.

Turning I began to walk away thinking the fight was over, but somehow the man shakily got back to his feet.)

"your like a fucking cockroach, do yourself a favour and just stay down"

(I said to the man before laughing again and waiting for him to recover. I figured it would be more fun if I let him have a breather and attack me when he was ready)

With his watcher bent over Kazuma looked over at Yuri who seemed to be holding his own. It was pitiful how these adult were expected to police the school. It was sad they might be fit and had the training to fight but they were nothing like the young pillars who had alittle more bounce back then these fossils. This Kid on the other hand seemed to have quite the talent when it came to a fight he wished he could say the same thing about his older opponent who was disappointing.

“You punk Bastard” Kazuma turned at the old scruffy voice and saw his watcher standing up. “A kid like you could never keep me down” Kazuma’s eyes bulged as he looked at the older man with pure hate in his eyes. The Watcher got into another stance but it wasn’t going to do him any good.

Kazuma charge the man was getting ready to strike but instead of slowing down Kazuma sped up and slammed into the watcher lifting him off his feet and kept running with his shoulder slammed into the Watchers chest. He slammed the older man into the brick wall right nect to the access door to the roof with a loud thud, the older man spat up blood immediately on Kazuma’s upper back.

He stepped back and the punched the Watcher right in the gut with a hard right, and as he bent over Kazuma came with a left haymaker slamming into the side of the watchers head. The man feel to the ground no moving or shaking it barely looked like he was breathing. Looking down at him kazuma then turned looking at the other boy on the roof.

(As I waited for this pitiful opponent of mine to recover I looked over at the other student to see how he was faring. Watching the larger student ragdoll the smaller watcher with his charge, I found myself enjoying this little spat. Finally after what seemed like hours yet was only seconds, the watcher in front of me stood at full height.)

"i'm going to fucking kill you, you little shit"

(The older man screamed at me in rage. Then he began a full on fun at me, it seemed the man had finally been overcome with rage and had lost any common sense he once might of had. As he neared striking distance I quickly pulled my right knee into my chest and shot it out hard in a push kick for his chest. Now normally this attack would only push an opponent back to give me room, but with him running as fast as he could and slamming into my oncoming foot, the attack was devestating.

A bigger grin could be seen etched across my face as I heard ribs breaking and cracking. As a shower of the mans blood sprayed across my chest from his mouth, I found myself laughing at his helplesness. As the man dropped to his knees holding his chest, I decided it was time to end this. Taking a step forward I grabbed the back of his head and hit him with a devestating right knee to his already shattered nose.

As the man hit his back in a heap I turned to the larger student with a smile)

"too bad there is no more"

(Was all I said before pulling out a cigarette and lighting it. Tossing the pack to the student I followed suite by tossing him the lighter)

“Yeah I know what you mean” Kazuma said to the other student as he took out his cigarettes. Kazuma was not a huge fighter by nature in fact he barely fought. It was one of the reasons he was not well known through out the school like some of the other students how fought on a regular basis, or those who attended the tournaments that were held every now and then. He preffered it that way staying off every ones radar was easier then those that actually tried to make a name for themselves. After all in the real world his name was already known to those who read muscle magizines and followed body building and amature strong men competitions.

He caught the cigarettes and the lighter lighting himself up one before tossing them both back to this nameless student that just seemed to be here at the right time for a fight. “Well atleast its two less bastards to deal with as far as the Watchers are concerned…doubt either will be lookin for a fight any time soon” He said taking a nice drag from his stog.

“So whats your name….haven’t seen you around before” Kazuma said. It was true though he was barely around and he mainly only knew the seniors that had made it here from Varron, the Hircine faces were still forgeien to him.

"The name is Yuri salaverry. I just came tot his school a couple of days ago. So far most of the shit I had heard about, was these watchers were unreal fighters. Apparently the whole school is scared shitless of them. So I decided why not test them out for myself and find out the truth"

(I said with a smile as i looked over at the fallen watcher.)


"and who might you be?"

(I asked him before taking a long pull of my cigarette. Inhaling deeply I could feel the relish of the nicotine and smoke filling my lungs. Exhaling I waited for the other students respons)

Yuri gave his name and the reason Kazuma had not seen him up until now. The school got transfer students in all the time, infact they almost seemed too thrive on them willingly taking in the worst of the worst and expecting to some how reform them. It was a crazy notion Kazuma never comprehended but after watching everything this past school year he had to say it was at least great entertainment.

“Kazuma….Kazuma Sagara, transfer from Varron” he replied smoking himself “And if your looking for a challenge its not the Watchers but the students themselves you want” he looked down at the fallen Watchers “These guys just strike fear into everyone because they have athourity…plus they tend to attack in groups leaving a single student out numbered…or so that’s what I’ve seen”

Kazuma then went over to his fallen Jacket and retrived it slipping it on over his shoulders. “Speaking of them using there numbers…you might want to get out of here before more come…these bastards check in regularly with one another, it only a matter of time before more come up here looking for their friends”
