Sebastian was laying down on the football fields bleachers, his head resting on a heavy sweatshirt he had balled up into a pillow, lazily sleeping his afternoon away while he waited for lunch to come around. It was going on eleven and his cellphone still hadn't chimed to tell him he was supposed to get up and wander off to the pizza joint a few blocks down where he was supposed to meet his sister. Why she wanted to he had no idea but as the only one around for his sister he felt obligated. Beep, beep beep, beep, b-beep. Until of course his text message alert went off. That he hadn't been expecting. Flipping open his cellphone and sitting up, reading the message, and then grinned widely. Sebastian quickly popped up and made his way quickly down the bleachers, jumping two at a time, and jogging across the field to his crappy junker of a car and sped off. FIGHTER'S LEAGUE OPPONENT: Kyukaku LOCATION: Club Legion's Roof It wasn't a very long drive to Legion, mostly because he spent his time ignoring his sister yelling at him for ditching his plans with her, apologized in a half-hearted apology, and stepped out of his car while hanging up on her without saying goodbye. Sebastian was too excited to give a shit whether or not his sister was pissed off. She could eat pizza on her own, she had her money, and he had more important things to do. Sebastian strode up to the entrance, stopped by a bouncer he passed quickly after proving he was in the Fighter's League, and then worked his way quickly up to the roof where there was already a crowd gathered and waiting to see a fight. They cheered as he approached, only out of excitement and not recognition, and Sebastian grinned as he stepped in the middle of the circle that had formed before his appearance. Wearing a sage green t-shirt and somewhat beat up beige cargo pants, thick soled sneakers, looking around quietly in hopes that his opponent would step out of the crowd quickly. "Don't keep me waiting."

Hey, fartknocker, the League's starting up. You, Sebastian, Club Legion...in about 20 minutes. Sry for the short notice.
Kyukaku pressed the end key on his phone, silencing the Metallica ring tone. It was terribly short notice, but it wouldn't be likely for Kyu to get mad at Dain for it. Still, he could of called rather than send a text message. It wasn't like he had unlimited, and it wasn't like he had a job either.
That's why I need to win these fights. Money can be nice.
Kyukaku walked into his room, searching for his karate gi. He spotted it, but changed his mind. He didn't have the time to completely change his clothing. He unbuttoned his shirt, removing it before putting on an older tight white T-shirt wtih a dragons skeleton emblem enbroidered upon it. He slipped on a pair of moccasins, not very hard soled, but tight enough where Kyu's feet would be hard enough if needed.
The drive wasn't very far for Kyukaku as well, and he never dreaded taking Taiku's gift for a ride. It didn't take him long to enter the building, nor reach the roof either. There were some cheers already apparent, but once Kyukaku reached the top they increased. Either his fame was more than his opponents, or the excitement had increased because the fight would happen that much quicker. His opponent wasn't the Sebastian he knew, if you could even say he knew the other one. Standing in a room together doesn't really qualify.
"No real need for an introduction, we both know the other's name. Maybe its time we find out something more important."
Kyukaku baited, a friendly yet competitive smile on his face as his body relaxed.

Sebastian grinned as he heard the cheers start up again, which he hoped meant that an opponent was about to show up. He turned in the direction he could now only assume was the rooftop access and waited to see a figure break through the crowd and step into the proverbial ring.
"Sebastian, Kyukaku, violence to ensue, yeah not much need for pleasantries."
He grinned and shifted his left foot forward, his left arm raising so his fist was in front of his chin, and his forearm in a fairly straight line up his chest. His right stayed where it was, but turned the heel to make the stance feel natural, and raised his balance to the balls of his feet as his right came up to mirror his left.
On the balls of his feet he would begin to bounce just slightly, showing his mobility and balance, ready to take charge of the fight or go defensive. As a 'Boxer Puncher' practiced the same hit-and-move tactics of an out-fighter, but instead of winning by decision, which would never happen in a real fight, he tended to wear his opponents down with sharp punches that wore the mind. Once a mistake was made all that would be needed was a well timed, precise, knock out punch.
"I don't think we have to wait for the bell."

It was hard to guess a persons personality based on a few words and his looks, but it was apparent that Sebastian at least had a sense of humor. That was good, it meant that this could be fun. He obviously wasn't too uptight, or too shy. He wouldn't have to worry about going overboard in anyway.
Kyukaku grinned in return to the comment, also getting into stance with his opponent. He didn't take the typical loose karate stance this time. He saw his opponents stance, a quick boxing one. Kyukaku decided to take a more solid approach, as he wasn't able to see which out of the two was quicker based on body type alone since they were roughly the same size.
He planted his feet, twisting his upperbody to face Sebastian. Kyukaku brought both hands up, resting near his jaw as he tucked his elbows in. It was a basic kickboxing stance, though it appeared he was more stable and awaiting for the first attack.
"Well in the case we do...ding."
Kyukaku's left foot shot out in a quick front snap kick, the ball of his feet aiming for the leading knee of Sebastian. He hoped it would be unexpected as it was from a more defensive position, but in any case it was nothing more than a probe, and the foot would be back to the ground even quicker than it had gone out.

OOC: I'm generally assuming after the probe there would be a pause. But as I wouldn't let the opportunity go I doubt you will either, so just step in when you need.
Sebastian was waiting impatiently, the bouncing getting a little faster, his eyes managing to stay focused as his grin slowly faded into an amused smile. To most it would seem that he was planning on being honorable and have a pleasant match with Kyukaku. But with a personality that desired any advantage and didn't feel guilt he was quite ready to use his usual tactics of frustrating and insulting his opponent to make mistakes even more likely.
All that was left was to decide if it would actually work or not. In his matches for the school it worked more often than not because they took themselvs too seriously. But this guy obviously didn't. This was just someone that wanted to fight. So he decided he'd have to take this more seriously and avoid pissing him off.
Well in the case we do...ding
The attack came out quickly, but it was bellow his field of vision. He had thought his opponent had taken a rough boxing stance, but he had been mistaken. His left leg pushed back a good six inches and settled, the snap kick had struck and indeed surprised him. Realizing he wouldn't be looking out for a lunch fighter Sebastian pushed his back foot along with the front, keeping weight off the front temporarily, and set his weight again.
"Well shit, you're one of those. Alright then." Sebastian shifted his weight again, evening it out between the two legs, testing to see if the pain in his left leg was just a temporary stun, or if it was actually going to be a problem. But all the while keeping his eyes on his opponent, with the distance he could keep a full view, but as the distance closed he would need to drop his eyes toward the torso to get a view of what the legs were going to do as well.
'My leg's alright. Must have just been a test.'

"Guess so."
Kyukaku hadn't known what Sebastian meant, but he wouldn't continue with the usual banter at this time. He had surprised Sebastian with the foot technique, and now that his attention momentarily shifted below, Kyukaku intended to capitalize.
The kick would bring Kyukaku slightly closer to his opponent. As his foot landed back to the ground, Kyu's left hand would snap out in a loose jab. He would hit whatever was in the way with his two knuckles, though his intended target would be the right side of Sebastian's jaw. No matter what he hit, body part or air, Kyukaku's right would immediately follow up with a crisp straight cross to the center of Sebastian's nose. The first attack was a probe of the defenses. The second was to penetrate, and the third to pierce.
Sooner or later this is how it will be. I can't fight nice forever. Not if I intend to carry on the title of School Captain.

Sebastian shifted his upper body and neck, purely upon reflex when he saw the upper bodying moving, and slipped to the left of the jab by a mere inch. With the same reflex he continued the movement and weaved his head down by tucking his chin against his collarbone.
While doing this he bent his knees to lower his body by a minuscule three inches, giving him enough a small amount of spring in his lower body, and shifted his weight to the right, avoiding the blow he did not know was coming by using the programed response while his right shoulder lowered.
When the punch would just be starting to retract Sebastian would, from this position, thrust his right hand upwards in a rising arc toward Kyukaku's chin. At the same time, his knees pushed upwards quickly while the torso and hips rotated anti-clockwise and his right heel turned outward.
The strategic utility of the uppercut depends on its ability to "lift" the opponent's body, which is why he had programed himself to bend his knees before an uppercut, setting his opponent off-balance for a successive follow up. His preferred follow up was a destructive left hook.

So far Kyukaku's predictions had been correct. The dodging only confirmed what the stance told him, that Sebastian was a boxer. A good one at that. He was able to time it just right to avoid Kyukaku's attack. It was a perfect dogde for a boxer. The only problem was, this wasn't a boxing match.
Kyu's left jab would return into guard instantly, while his right hand struck nothing but air as well. With training from kickboxing, it wasn't hard to tell what was up next, do to their closer positioning. As the uppercut came, Kyu's left palm pushed to the inside. His hand knocked against Sebastian's forearm, causing the fist to pass more in front of his chest and right shoulder.
At the same time, Kyu would torque his hips to the right, slamming his left knee hard into the exposed right set of Sebastians ribs. The uppercut would stretch this area out for him, and with his arm moving away, Kyukaku had the cleanest possible shot. Hard to see something coming below your field of vision, but if he had, Kyukaku doubted he'd be able to shift away in time after exploding upwards.

Sebastian was frustrated to feel and see that his opponent was good enough turn his body with his palm and push Sebastian's uppercut away from the target. Instead of striking the unprotected chin he found the back of his wrist grazing over the material of his opponents t-shirt. With the spring of his knees not yet fully extended he tried to release all tension in his knees so he wouldn't place himself in a fully extended uppercut.
But the fist still went over his opponents shoulder, which left the opening he could not see, but soon felt. A blunt pain crashed into his ribs. As the pain throbbed Sebastian slid his left foot forward in a vain attempt to lessen the impact. Knowing it couldn't be the left hand that had pushed him off balance left him thinking it was some kind of kick. Which meant he would have time to create distance while his opponent lowered his leg back to the ground.
Sebastian pushed off his right foot hard, using the last half inch of spring he saved in his knees to aid in speed, lifting his left foot enough to slide forward two feet. The ball of his left foot planted on the ground, and fighting the urge to cover his ribs with his elbow, he turned his body to the right and performed a fast full circle to aim himself at his opponent again.
However he was well aware that despite moving first turning took time. To avoid being completely helpless to an incoming attack Sebastian turned his shoulders and hips to the right even after he would be side on with his opponent, and dropped his knees six inches in hopes that he may dodge, while pulling a sharp but slightly off balance right cross into his opponents guard to make enough distance to steady himself.

The knee strike landed cleanly, the stutter step being the only thing that saved Sebastian from a set of cracked ribs. Still, movement on the right side would be far from pleasant. Sebastian began to slide out, probably attempting to gain a better positioning upon Kyukaku.
Kyu's left foot planted back on the ground. His right foot would slide to the right, causing his left foot to pivot as his body would move in a 90 degree turn to face Sebastian. As his body whipped around, his right arm would snap out, his elbow moving forward until reaching its peak where his hand would ratchet out. With the edge of his hand, Kyu intended to chop Sebastian in the back of his neck as he slid to the side.
Sebastian was in the midst of turning to face Kyu at the same time, however, and the chop would end up striking towards the right jugular. He had Sebastian on the constant move now, and if Kyukaku kept the pressure on, Sebastian would find himself hard pressed to settle himself again to properly set up an attack or defense.
In theory, at least.

Sebastian's right cross connected into his opponents ribs, but the same moment the blow struck a pain shot up and down his neck, and then resorted to a dull pain that left his head feeling slightly light. Sebastian grit his teeth. He wouldn't show his back again and had no need too this time. His body was already lowered and his left shoulder had dropped.
From this position Sebastian's left hand is thrust upwards in a rising arc towards the opponent's torso. At the same time, his knees straightened and pushed upwards quickly while the torso and hips rotated anti-clockwise and the rear heel turns outward. He had a hard time aiming it properly but knew he would hit somewhere in the middle of the torso.
The reason he chose an uppercut instead of a hook was for two reasons. He was already set up by being lowered and having his knees bent. But more importantly this angled upward punch would help him regain his balance and from there he could try to take control of the fight and move into his comfortable range of combat again.

Kyukaku hadn't been able to see underneath his own arm, and his miscalculation caused them both to be struck. Still, Kyukaku would prefer an attack to the body than to the neck. He would naturally slump backwards, attempting to ride part of the blow to prevent major damage. Instinctively Kyu's right arm would retract at the elbow, pulling back to his side.
With his right arm back into position, he was able to scoop his hand downwards in a non-clockwise semi-circle and parry the punch to the side. It was a redirection, but Sebastians attack had better positioning than his current defense. Kyukaku slid back, assuring that the punch would hit nothing but air.
Kyukaku had prevented the strike, but gave up a chance for a counter. Kyukaku shuffled his feet, getting the blood pumping once again as well as showing he was still full of energy. He extended his left hand palm up, flicking his fingers in the universal sign for "bring it."

The uppercut was pushed to the side redirected just enough to give his opponent time to slip back away from it. But this time Sebastian was not frustrated or angry. He had wanted distance and he had gotten distance. Inflicting ones will was always a happy occasion and this was no exception.
Sebastian pulled himself back into stance and shifted focous to the balls of his feet once again. As he began the slight bouncing motion once more he drew back his lips and revealed his teeth in an grin of satisfaction. It didn't end up being a bad first exchange at all.
Even if in everyone else's eyes the two fighters had an equal exchange the egotistical Sebastian felt that he had come up on top. Even with the pain in his neck that was slowly throbbing away. It was only slightly distracting.
Sebastian's opponent also seemed to be quite energized by the exchange and while he shuffled his feet Sebastian kept himself side on with him. Keeping the distance roughly the same as they moved.
"Lady went first, it's the Gentleman's turn."
He said in acknowledgment to the sign to attack. Sebastian pushed off his back foot firmly, lifting his lead, and closed the distance to just under that of a punch. His left shoulder twitched forward as his lead foot touched to the ground in a prelude to a quick jab.
But it couldn't come. Sebastian preformed another fast push off, but this time lifted the left foot and moved kicked off with his rear foot. Sebastian was expecting that a defensive strike to prevent him from coming into striking distance would come and this would be his little version of a feint.
And a taunt.

It wasn't a bad exchange in the least, but no matter what Sebastian thought Kyukaku knew who was leading this fight. To Sebastian's one, Kyukaku had two solid hits. Kyukaku couldn't help but smile at Sebastian's remark. It was somewhat amusing, though at the same time Kyu's smirk showed agitation at the man's ego. Kyu'd make sure to take it down a notch, or five.
Oh, so that's how it is, is it?
Kyukaku began to raise his left foot, intent on slamming his heel into the kneecap again. Sebastian stopped short however, taunting Kyu. If Sebastian knew of Kyukaku, he might of known that it wasn't the greatest idea. A mockery, yes. A blatant opening, yes.
With no hesitation, Kyukaku's left foot planted forward, his right hand cocked and beginning to throw a punch. Instead, it would open up half way and grip the wrist of Sebastian's left arm. By the time he'd realize it wasn't a punch, Kyukaku's hips would already be finishing the technique. The feint would insure that Sebastian wouldn't be able to quickly shift his weight again after just jerking forward and doing. The grip on the arm was further insurance of Sebastian's prevented mobility, but also unnecessary to the overall attack. Kyu's right leg would already be coming in a low arc, his shin smashing into the outside of Sebastian's left knee in the hardest roundkick he could throw.

Sebastian had been partially right. Kyukaku had intended to stop him from moving forward. A taunt was exchanged with a taunt. Sebastian wasn't in place long after his feint before Kyukaku came after him. But there was a problem with this.
Instead of performing a kick that would keep distance between the two Kyukaku telegraphed a right punch and Sebastian's trained reaction was already clicking into place. If you can create a simultaneous hit take the opportunity. It places possibility for millisecond hesitation later into the fights.
Upon seeing the telegraph Sebastian, from the guard position, thew the rear hand from his chin, crossing the body and traveling toward Kyukaku's head in a straight line. His right shoulder thrusts forward with the blow and would finish just touching the outside of his chin. Still in tune with the rest of his bodies movements the lead hand is retracted and tucked against his face to protect the inside of his chin. The torso and hips are also rotated counter-clockwise as the cross is thrown. Weight transferred from the rear foot to the lead foot, resulting in the rear heel turning outwards as it acts as a fulcrum for the transfer of weight, completes the well tuned bow.
After the cross is thrown his hand would retract quickly and the guard position resumed as he lifts his rear foot and pushes off his lead. Sebastian still wanted distance. The hit and run was coming into play. His back foot drops and his left is pulled back to set his feet at the shoulder width apart once more.

Kyukaku could have thrown a clean punch. Instead, he cocked it back, telegraphing it. Still, a telegraphed punch already on the way would reach before Sebastian's, who would be throwing it in accordance to Kyu's. The right hand would grasp Sebastian's left wrist as planned, as Kyukaku's leg would continue its low motion to kick. He knew where his leg was going, and as such he kept his eyes up, ready when the rear hand came at him.
Kyukaku's left arm went out, deflecting the punch at the wrist. Thanks to Sebastian putting a good deal of weight into the blow, as he intended to continue past Kyu's head, Kyu was able to roll his hand over the arm in one fluid motion after the deflection. The fist would move past Kyu's side as his arm would roll atop it, trapping the arm in his armpit as Kyu wrenched his arm around the elbow.
Having to hold onto Sebastain with both arms would lesson the power of Kyu's kick, as he no longer had the full torque. It would still be damaging to the knee, but it was doubtful it would snap the joint as he hoped for. Instead, Kyu's right foot would land just to the side of Seb's left foot, bringing Kyukaku closer to his opponent. As he stepped down from the kick and moved forward, Kyu used the momentum, lashing forward in a headbutt to the bridge of Sebastian's nose, striking with the hairline: the hardest part on the human skull.

OOC: Edited
It was time for Kyukaku to find out another little habit of Sebastian. One he really wouldn't like. His punch was redirected, much to his annoyance, and trapped under Kyukaku's armpit, and his left wrist was grasped as well. And as he always would do when grabbed or dragged in he wanted to hurt his opponent in any way possible.
Sebastian relaxed the tension in his knees, lowering his height in preparation, but before he could do anything after lowering two inches he felt his leg buckle to the right and pain shot up his leg. Any strength he had prepared to unleash was trying to reset. The strike had not hit the knee as desired but something just as effective, if only more temporary.
Inside of thigh a large nerve passes over the bone about in the middle of the inner thigh. A blow to this area also incapacitates the leg and can cause the opponent to drop. As his leg buckled to the left, his body tipped, and Sebastian instinctively pulled his forearm toward the back of his opponents shoulder and bit his fingers into cloth and flesh firmly. He could still attack. But after he would likely fall because of his poor balance.
Sebastian pulled his lower body, torqued his left knee in an rising strike that angled to the right from his bodies position. The knee strike would land on the outside of the lead legs thigh. It would be effective because he was pulling himself forward and up with his opponents shoulder. And because he was too off balance and couldn't look down he didn't realize he wouldn't hit his target of the groin. Instead it would seven inches above Kyukaku's knee.
But unfortunately for Sebastian this could either could end up being just a strike but unfortunately for Sebastian it could lead to both falling in the same direction.

The kick struck and Sebastian began to buckle to the right. He noticed the lowering of stance moments before, and therefore it was unlikely his knee was injured. Still, it seemed to throw Sebastian off balance. Sebastian lifted his left leg from the ground, and with one leg to balance Kyukaku would take advantage of this.
With the right foot already planting right next to Sebastian, Kyu's right hand would shoot straight forward, releasing the wrist and finger striking straight through his armpit. Kyukaku would torque to the left, pivoting on his right foot as he slid his left foot back. Then, he would feel Sebastian's knee richochet off the front of his thigh. It seemed that his opponent hadn't buckled from the kick as much as Kyu had thought, but regardless the result would now be the same.
Pivoting on his right foot, Kyukaku would continue to torque to the left. He'd pull down on the left arm trapped in his armpit, while the right would lift up and dip back down. With Sebastian throwing his weight in the same direction, Kyukaku would have a simple time hefting Sebastian almost but not quite over the shoulder, slamming his back onto the hard roof below.
Rather than deliver a finishing blow, Kyukaku would rise and step back. If Sebastian would be able to stand after the force of the slam, he'd deserve to have one last shot.

Sebastian didn't quite know how it happened but he knew exactly what happened. His agressive and unbalanced attack ended up getting him in a situation he couldn't do anything about. On his way to the ground he felt something against his leg, he assumed it was part of his opponents body, and tried to hook his foot against it. But he found it didn't do much more than slow him down a quarter second before slamming into the ground.
His shoulders made a dull slapping sound as he crashed into the ground, his chin tucked against his chest as dictated by his boxing guard, but after the initial impact his head still went back and thumped against the ground on his second miniature bounce. His shoulders had a dull burning pain and the back of his head ached. But there wasn't the pain in his stomach and nose that he had been expecting. He wasn't finished off.
Sebastian, realizing he had time, having spent a solid three seconds on the ground, used his abdominal muscles to sit up. An off-color comment was spat from his lips with a pink spray of spit. He had bit his lip when he hit the ground. But it wasn't bleeding all that much. Just enough that he could taste the copper and wanted to rid himself of it. Placing his right hand on the ground he pushed himself up and pulled his legs under him. "Didn't expect you'd let me up after that one."
Sebastian turned and resumed a looser stance, his arms down toward his waist instead of the traditional high stance, and his legs didn't seem to have quite as much bounce. He was changing his style to something a little more agressive. "You trying to be "honorable" or are you just an idiot?" Despite the fact his shoulders burned and his head felt lighter than it should he was still very much in the mood to fight. He had taken more than one blow to the head. The problem would be that he didn't know what the pain in his shoulders would mean for his attacks.
