Lin merely nodded and followed behind him in silence, more curious now than before. She couldn’t truly see how simply touching a person could cause such a reaction – but then again, he probably couldn’t understand how showing her emotions was such a shame upon her. “He taught you. Taught you the C.Q.C.” She nodded in understanding, more comprehension coming to her. Kevin was that strong – that knowledgeable. It was the beginning of a new respect for the older man.
“Okay Traytaine.” Jogging to keep up at this point, they rounded the corner to the grocery store then Lin stopped. She glanced to the vending machine, pondering whether she wanted water or pop… deciding she would wait until everything had been resolved, “Kevin?” She hurried after Traytaine, going behind the grocery store with a hesitant expression.

Traytaine nodded to her, his head aiming at her for a moment. "He taught me how to fight." He replied, his head turned a bit. He was still oblivious to the title of his own fighting style. He just knew it defended him, and that was about it. He just smiled, wearily, and nodded. His feet continued a steady pace, broad strides that had eventually forced her to catch up with a light jog.
As he turned the corner her steps stopped. leaned against the wall, his eyes scanning the alley while Leslie came up behind him. "He's not here." He replied in place of Kevin, his head turned to the side. "Do.. you want to go find him? I know other places he is." What didn't come out of his memory was the fact that the places Kevin would be were not easily handled.

Lin nodded in response to his acknowledgement without ever removing her eyes from the sidewalk that she was jogging on. She seemed to understand the severity of everything that was taking place as well as his fighting style in relation to Kevin – thus she didn’t raise any objections. Still jogging to keep up with him, she turned the corner a few seconds after then paused in confusion as she realized the alleyway was empty. Everytime she had been to the grocer they had been there, boy and man sparring in the back alley with Traytaine’s dog watching from a comfortable position.
“Where do you think he would be?” She frowned and glanced around again, unsure of where she should be going as it was getting late. Very rarely could she be found outside of her uncle’s house after five or six at night – and it was already four thirty. But she needed to understand Traytaine. He was a friend and she wanted to know how to interact with him so that he wasn’t uncomfortable, “I’ll follow you Traytaine. Wherever… but we need to go quickly so lead the way.”

Traytaine went over the different places he could be. The grocery store was the easiest place to get too from his house. But when he didn't think he would show up Kevin would go to one of several places. The alley of a pawn shop. Closer to a main road. Or maybe he had been picked up for the night. He frowned at that thought, but he had to check the other two places first before he made any strong assumptions.
"We'll, he won't be too far." He said with a shrug, feeling more at ease now that his mind had wandered away from the previous uncomfortableness. It was simply too far out of sight now that Kevin wasn't where he had expected him to be. Her statement, however, seemed to make him a bit more nervous again. "Then.. lets go." He said with a small gulp, which he assured himself she didn't see or hear, and walked behind the grocery store, getting ready to weave through alleys.

Keeping up with him at a quick jog since he was walking faster than she did normally, she pondered over his answer then glanced around shyly to be sure that the street wasn’t going to come to life. “He taught you what you know. But why does he have to be stronger?” It was something that confused her a bit but she wasn’t going to ponder over it.
“Okay.” She nodded then followed along beside him as best as she could. But, as before, there was something that kept her at a distance… just behind him though she didn’t touch him. “So where are we going?” While she couldn’t quite see where they were going she knew that they alleys weren’t going anywhere savory. Shivering a bit as the darkness began to loom a bit more out of the nooks and crannies, she was tempted to hold his hand but then again – that was what she had been trying to avoid.

Traytaine was starting to feel a bit chilled as he walked through the alleys, knowing where he was, but the sun was slowly falling and he only had his black poncho on his torso. Under this thought he slowed his pace, giving less chance for cold air to be forced against his body. And also giving the jogging of Leslie, who was probably tiered by now. "What do you mean? You're stronger than your teacher?" He shook his head. Even if she was, it wasn't entirely the point. "There are still things I need to learn and improve."
The alley broke, the streetlights lit the area orange, and his eyes quickly scanned the street. He had a shelter he would use if it was going to rain. But it was illegal to do so, he only used it when it rained. "We'll.. he's either down the alley over to the left, and behind a heavy door. Or another half a mile away." He said with a slight hint of amusement, as he knew that itself would create problems. "Don't get too far behind."
He stepped out of the alley, and across the street. Traffic wasn't at a minimum. at this part of town at this time of night it was nearly nonexistent. They were either at clubs and bars, or already locked and bolted behind heavy doors. The next alley he entered, his eyes scanning each inch carefully as he went down, and approached the heavy green door twice the size of anormal door without being split in half. "He should be behind there."

Leslie’s quick jog kept her alongside of Traytaine without tiring her too badly, having kept up with her uncle on runs where he would simply begin running and keep running until he decided that they were done. However, she was content to slow down when he did – falling in step as he slowed and finally walked. “Stronger than my uncle? No – not yet at least though he says that one day I may be.” She thought over what he was saying and realized he was right. It made sense at least. “Everyone has a few things to improve on.
Stepping into the open, Leslie’s eyes furtively gazed from the left to the right then straight ahead nervously – feeling as though they were being watched by someone or something. Her head turning to the side, she inwardly girded herself against her own fears then followed behind him until he stopped as well to point out the alley they were going to go down, “Behind a door?” She frowned, unsure why or how he knew that he was definitely behind a certain door. “I won’t.”
As he moved across the street, she hurried after him – nearly running into him when he stopped. This wasn’t what she was sure of – this stopping and going he seemed to favor. “What are we supposed to do? Knock?”

Traytaine looked at the door, a small sigh escaping him. It was a bit annoying, the door was going to be hard to open. He still didn't know the strength he needed to just push it open. Either he didn't have the strength of Kevin's matured muscles, or he didn't know the secret to opening this door. "I don't remember where to push. It's really going to hurt if I pick wrong." He said with a sigh, walking to the right side of the large door.
"Knocking wouldn't wake him up." He said with a shrug, lifting his left leg and resting it against the door. He dropped his leg and set himself five feet back. He set his legs in stance, his left back, and charged forward. Having judged the distance he pushed his right foot forward, planting it in front of his leading foot, and then pulled his left up after it and sent it straight out, his body leaning toward the ground to increase the weight behind it.
His body jarred heavily, the impact did nothing, and all the power behind it redirected itself back into his leg. Grunting he pulled his left leg back as his lost balance made him go backwards, managing to regain his balance by dropping his right knee to the ground. "That.. didn't feel good." His voice was a bit strained, and he began to rub his left calf with both hands. "Must be the other side.."

Watching as Tray examined the door and sighed in frustration, she frowned then shook her head and approached a bit more – her head turning every few moments to examine the alley behind them. She doubted that at this time of night that they would be unbothered. It wasn’t much later than six or so but the sky had already darkened to become fully night. “You have to push? Push it how?”
Leslie carefully backed away to give him ample space, his intention still mostly lost on her though she was gradually understanding as he touched the door then backed away again. He seemed to almost want to jump at it – but that wouldn’t make much sense. Her brows furrowing in confusion, she watched only to yelp in surprise as he lunged forward and kicked the door on the right side.
Almost reaching out to catch him but once again remembering herself in time, she stepped back and placed her hands behind her back. She had nearly touched him – and that would have been bad. Or so he said… but maybe he was being – no, she doubted he was being dramatic. Glancing back at him, she shook her head, “That door is… is four or five times your size! There has to be another way of opening it or finding Kevin.” She doubted that another blow would do anything else but injure his other leg. Yet – it seemed he was determined to open it and find out.
